Chapter 5
Santana's Pov
Halloween was amazing, first because I didn't spend it alone and second because I got to see Rachel's fucking legs. I mean, what more could I ask for to make that day perfect? Maybe that woman wasn't sitting on the same bench as Rachel.
Rachel.
The time I've spent with Rachel has been incredible. Watching her interact with her son was the best part of it all. She was so good to him, so loving. And I couldn't be more lucky since she behaved the same way with me.
I'm not an idiot, I know I like Rachel. Who am I kidding? I've been in love with Rachel since she shared her lunch with me in seventh grade because Puckerman took mine from me. Not even my best friends wanted to share their lunch, and she, who barely knew me, gave me half of her sandwich and cookie.
Since that day I have been a lemon pressed for Rachel. Why did I treat her badly? I was afraid. The girls at school talked about the jocks while I waited in the hall for Rachel to come by so I could see her. My family was Catholic so I grew up under the idea that being gay was a sin. So I took out my frustration by making suffer the girl who made me feel all those feelings that were out of place. What an idiot, right?
My phone started ringing and I took it looking at the screen. I smiled, "What the hell do you want, Fabray?"
"Hi Santana, I'm fine thanks for asking." I laughed and leaned back on my desk chair.
"Stop being sarcastic and tell me what can I do for you, blondie." This time she laughed.
"Mr. Shue asked me to make sure that you are coming to the Friendsgiving barbecue." I didn't know who gave that name to the reunion but I'm pretty sure it was Finn. "So, are you coming?"
I was wondering if I could get Rachel to come with me. She hasn't seen her fellow Glee clubbers in seven years. I was going to talk to her and if she agreed it would be a surprise to the guys from Glee.
"You know I always go to that shit and maybe this year I have a surprise for all of you."
"Oh please tell me you're coming with a girlfriend."
I snorted, maybe not yet, but soon she'll be my girlfriend. I just had to play my cards right. "Shut up, Q. I have to go on a business trip, see you on Friendsgiving."
"See ya soon."
I hung up and gathered my things thinking how I was going to convince Rachel to come with me to Lima. I knew it would be difficult but I also knew that she missed them. Still, I wouldn't force her to go either.

That Saturday morning was one of those days when you didn't feel like getting out of bed at all, much less if you had to attend a two-hour convention full of lawyers. I had been in Chicago for two days listening to gibberish on topics that didn't interest me at all. Most of the attorneys present were men claiming that women couldn't be as efficient in a job like that.
I wasn't going to move from there, and I closed my eyes to go back to sleep, but I changed my mind. I took my phone and opened FaceTime to call Rachel. When her face appeared on the screen her eyes were somewhat sleepy. I could see her tousled hair and the top of what appeared to be winter pajamas.
"Good morning... Were you still sleeping?" She chuckled a bit, pushing the phone away from her face so that I could see Theo who was still sleeping next to her. "Oh... I'm sorry."
"Never mind, I was just getting up when the phone rang so you didn't wake me... at all." I smiled and watched as she settled on her side to be more comfortable with Theo close to her.
"He's adorable, you guys are adorable." I said lifting the pillows a bit to prop myself up on the head of the bed. "I miss you."
"We miss you too." She replied, biting her lower lip. We were silent for a moment and I noticed how Theo turned against Rachel, turning to hug her neck. I moved a little closer to the screen and Rachel looked at Theo who was slowly opening his eyes. "Theo..." He wrinkled his nose, rubbing one eye with his fist as Rachel placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Mommie..." He hugged Rachel closer and I was drooling with how adorable they were.
"Look who I'm talking to." Theo turned around and when he saw me he laughed, covering his mouth with his hands.
"Tanaaaaa". He said touching the screen with his fingers and Rachel pushed his hands away so he wouldn't hang up the call. "Are you behind the screen?" Theo lifted slightly to look behind the phone and I laughed just as Rachel laughed.
"I'm in Chicago, Theo. A little far away." I said lifting up a little bit more to settle into bed better.
"I wanted you to be here, Tana." His hands played with Rachel's shirt as he yawned a little.
"I wanted to be there too, T-boy. But I'll see you soon." I said smiling.
"Come on honey, brush your teeth." Theo leaned forward, almost sticking to the phone screen.
"See you later, Tana. I love you very much." He gave the screen a kiss and climbed out of bed carefully.
"Me too, Theo." I answered, and we were silent for a moment. "How was work?" I asked.
"It was good, Monday is the last day before Thanksgiving break." She looked more awake as she looked at me through the screen with a smile. "How are conventions going?"
"Boring! At least today is the last one so I'm back tonight." I sighed and looked around the room.
"Well, if you want, you can stop by and, I don't know, maybe have dinner." She shrugged, looking away with flushed cheeks and I found her adorable.
"Sure, sure I do. I have to go, see you later."
"Bye, Tana." She said goodbye and cut the call, leaving the screen black.
I sighed and all I could do was wish the day would go by quickly so I could be with Rachel and Theo as soon as possible.

I was almost falling asleep when the taxi pulled up in front of Rachel's apartment. The damn convention lasted another hour so I had to delay my flight. As if that were not enough, my suitcase did not appear at the airport and I had to wait in a small room that smelled like a dead rat. Disaster.
It was a bit late when I knocked on the door of apartment C14. It opened and on the other side was Rachel in a pajama with little musical notes. Her hair in a messy bun and her face lighted up by a smile that I reciprocated.
"Hi." Rachel said with a smile, placing a kiss on my cheek.
"Sorry I'm late." I said softly, hugging her around the waist and feeling her arms wrap around my neck. "Where is Theo?"
"He's asleep on the couch." I closed the door behind me and walked over to the sofa without saying anything.
"Can I take him to his room?" My voice was even lower and she nodded.
I scooped Theo up and he didn't flinch, he just clung to my neck as I walked to his room. I laid him down on the bed, pulling the sheets over his body as Rachel watched from the door.
"Goodnight." I whispered, giving him a kiss on the forehead before walking with Rachel out of the room.
"Do you want to go to sleep? I can get you some pajamas and we can snuggle up in bed. Or do you want something to eat first?" Her hand was on my cheek, stroking her thumb over the area and I just bowed at the contact.
"I feel like at any moment I'm going to fall asleep standing up." I mumbled, and Rachel let out laugh before taking my hand and dragging me into her room.
She closed the door when we walked in and pulled out a warm pajama set for me. I changed in the bathroom and when I came out Rachel was snuggled under the duvet on the bed. She patted next to her and I without saying anything lay down next to her, leaving my head on her chest.
I wrapped one of my arms around her waist and one of her hands went straight to my hair, lightly scratching my scalp. I got closer and sighed in pleasure when I felt her hand caressing me. I loved that she did that to my hair and she knew it.
"Mmm, I love it when you do that to my hair." I purred snuggling a little closer to her, putting one of my legs on top of hers.
She put one of her fingers under my chin, lifting my face slightly. "Sleep, Tana." She said with a smile, placing a kiss on my forehead.
I don't know if I said something, because as soon as I closed my eyes I fell asleep. Which was more pleasurable by being surrounded by Rachel's scent and body heat.
