Power and Sparks Chapter 5

:Chapter start:

Command Centre-Shortly after Justine and Billy had been taken

Virgil and Barbara was at the control panels in the room helping Alpha locate Billy by his communicator. Very little luck so far but they were not giving up. Sabrina was using the Veiwing Globe to flash between locations that Rita would need someone of Billy's mental ability or a child to access or use. So far they she had little luck. Adam though returned to the Juice Bar and found that Billy and Justine won the grand prize but Bulk and Skull took the prise stating that they would get it to Billy and Justin.

With Bulk and Skull

The two 'Bullies' were racing the RC car around the park while the kid they were partnered with claimed to be getting drinks for the two only to run off with the gift certificate to buy himself stuff.

Command Centre

There search was slow until suddenly Sabrina spoke up, "Found them!" this surprised everyone as they looked to the Viewing Globe and saw Billy and Justine with their hands chained and being pulled along by Squat and Pabu, while Goldar and the Clucky Chicken followed Finster across an rocky area.

Zordon spoke, "They are heading to the Vault of Darkness. It is believed that it holds the Weapons of Darkness. Much like your power weapons only these three are considered neutral in the battle of Good and Evil."

Virgil frowns at that before commenting, "Wait, so we could use them if we get them first?"

Zordon answers, "No, they were sealed for a reason hence why the mind of a child is needed to open the vault. The region of the area is immune to all forms of teleportation due to the natural occurring stones in the region. Humanity know the region as Shang Gru La due to the golden city located under the glacier it is hidden under."

Virgil blinks before commenting, "Of course. We should all morph and get their quickly."

Everyone reached for their Morphers before Zordon comments, "You will need to return to the point where you enter before we can get you out. Do not be sealed inside the Vault otherwise you will find a child to free you from the outside." The Rangers nodded before Adam returned and the four teleported to Shang Gru La, which was located on Mars, but Zordon was not allowed to mention.

Alpha mentions, "I hope Billy is okay."

Shang Gru La-As Billy and Justine arrived.

Billy was knocked to the ground as Goldar laughed at his humiliation. Justine was scared for his friends safety as they were led by this strange white artist leading them through what appeared to be an ancient abandoned city. Billy had commented on the structure when Goldar knocked him to the ground with a laugh before they continued walking.

Finster spoke up, "We are currently a third of the way to the cave. Once there we can have the child open the vault."

Justine wanting know what the hell was going asks, "What do you need me to open this vault?"

"It is magically sealed and only the mind of a child could possibly open the vault," Finster answers before commenting, "But I am afraid that my Empress has made it very clear that if you fail to open the vault as she desires, the teenager known as Billy will be executed as your only warning before Goldar will do the same to you and we will find another child to open the vault."

Billy simply says, "Don't worry about my Health Justine, just protect yourself," Billy's glasses was broken and Billy received a black eye. Billy sits up as he managed to grab his glasses puts on the damaged glasses.

Goldar speaks, "Oh when we are done with you, you will wish had executed you," with that Goldar grabs the chain and pulled them along. Squat and Pabu were laughing along with the Clucky Chicken as they walked through the valley. Billy looks up and frowns as he sees stars start to appear in the night sky and none are in the right place for anywhere on the planet for this time of year.

They had been walking a while when Billy glanced up again where he noticed four coloured lights of his friends but remained silent as they continued along the path.

The Rangers were back at the starting point of the Valley where they started running after Billy, only Billy's group would reach the cave entrance just as the rangers were arriving to help Billy and Justine. Red stopped them and says, "We need to be careful in case they threaten to hurt Billy or Justine."

Pink whispers back, "What if Justine asks about the Blue Ranger?"

"We just tell him, he is our techie and the Zords needed a quick repair and parts replaced," Yellow jokes.

Red nods and says, "We can go with that. We can't separate Billy and Justine at the moment, especially on an alien planet." Pink was silent having noticed herself, while Yellow and Black shakes their heads at his joke. Red then continues, "We have to make sure they do not notice us or they could hurt the hostages."

Yellow frowns at that before commenting, "I don't see any Putties though shouldn't there be some."

Pink frowns before looking at the dirt and commenting, "Not if they are limited in the amount of magic they can use here. Seriously we had to teleport a good distance away from this cave and by the looks of it, at the same point they arrived here."

Red simply says, "Let's get in there quietly," with that the four enter the cave quickly in time to see Justine pushed towards the vault door that when Goldar reached a certain point of the Vault door covered with dials gears and a door handle appeared to glow green along the edges of the Vault door. Justine appeared to shift a couple dials, gears and levers before reaching the door handle where it opened easily revealing the three weapons. A sword, a dagger and a bow. (Sword of Darkness Tommy was given when evil, Psyco Green's dagger and the Ranger Hunter's bow.)

Justine turned around in time for Goldar to blow pink powder in his face. Justine was unconscious before Billy rushed to Justine. Billy states, "What did you do to him?"

Goldar laughs and says, "We cannot let him tell anyone how to free the two of you." Squat and Pabu rushed inside with Finster to collect the weapons before the Clucky Chicken pulled the two human back and into the vault. As the rangers rushed to them as the vault glowed again at the same point as before. Billy and Justine were sealed inside before Red could stop Goldar, though in Goldar's sealing of the vault was met with Red cutting of Goldar's wing before being back handed into a wall. Goldar calmed himself and says, "Good luck freeing the Blue Ranger!" Goldar slashed some of the dials, gears and Levels before the five monsters rushed out the cave using the new weapons and a pair of shears to get past the rangers.

Red rushed to the Vault door as it glowed green again as Goldar and the monsters reached the same point in the cave as before. Red shouts, "Billy are you okay."

"Affirmative, but the used a pink powder on Justine, he is unconscious!" Billy shouts through the vault door.

Pink looks at the door and shouts, "Did you see how Justine opened the vault door?"

"There was no discernible pattern," Billy countered.

Black shakes his head as he looks at the damage and says, "I don't think it will matter when almost all the locks are destroyed. Even if we found a kid to open the vault again."

Yellow frowns looking at the vault door as according to Zordon the only way to open it was with the help of a child. Yellow frowns as Red shouts to Billy again, "Is there any way to open the vault from the other side?"

"Negative, the vault door on this side appears to be a solid wall and it appears I am in an air tight chamber. I estimate that we have three hours of oxygen before we suffocate," Billy answered.

Red sighs and says, "We will find a way to open the door," which was when Yellow went to the door handle and opened the vault door surprising everyone.

Yellow states, "You tell a child to open a door the first thing they are going to do is try and open the door by the door handle," indicating the door handle that was turned slightly before she let go revealing a simple latch on the frame.

The four rangers blinked in confusion before Red states, "So the vault was never locked to begin with?" getting a nod from Yellow.

Billy frowns before stating, "A simple misdirection."

Getting three nods before Red rushed inside and lifted Justine into his arms and they rushed back to the point where they could get back. They reached it in time to see Goldar and his allies teleport away quickly. Red simply speaks into his Communicator and asks, "Hey, Zordon, we are at the teleportation point. Listen, we may need to bring Justine to the Command Centre, he was hit with a pink powder."

To answer Zordon replied with, "Alpha has already prepared the equipment to take to Billy's garage and Virgil's father returned your experiment Billy. We will be transporting you there." With that the group transported back to Earth quickly. Never noticing the strange hooded figure watching them from a distance.

The Figure says, "Hopefully they awaken him," it was that point the figure flew at high speed on a wooden platform.

Earth-Cranston's Garage-Two hours later

Justine was shifting on an old couch where he sees Alpha running a device over his chest before Alpha says, "That powder was a powerful sleep spell, I have negated the affect and he should be waking up."

Justine looks around and sees two rangers, Red and Yellow, waiting for him to wake up while, Sabrina, Adam and Billy were to the side concerned over Justine's health. Red simply asks, "You okay young man?"

Justine nods and says, "Yeah, what happened?"

"Goldar tried to lock you and your friend in the vault that held dangerous weapons," Yellow answered Justine sits up in shock and tried to ask a bunch of questions only for Yellow to raise a hand and say, "Do not worry, we are already working on something to get them back. For now, our concern is your Health. So Alpha what is his condition."

"The residual affects should be reduced in the coming hours, Rangers and teenagers," Alpha states before finishing with, "Though I would avoid sleeping anywhere concealed if the spell is not completely cleared from your body otherwise you may sleep several thousand years before someone finds you or worst, buried alive." Justine was somewhat nervous at that before Alpha states, "I am sure that I have cleared the spell from your body for now, we have contacted your guardians and they have been informed of what happened and your safety."

"Make sure you study hard and train well," Red states, "World could use more Rangers when you are older," with that he gave a simple finger salute before Red, Yellow and Alpha teleported away in a cool light show.

Justine was in awe before sitting up quickly and rushing to Billy to ask, "Billy are you okay?"

"Just a black eye and the need for a new pair of glasses," Billy answered, "I should be fine long enough to make a new pair," and received two heads being shaken at the absurdity of Billy's life. Billy then comments, "I called Virgil and Barbara when we returned they had been searching for the Power Rangers I do not believe they were successful. Not sure if they would be able to visit before your guardians arrive."

Justine just had to wait five minutes before his grandparents arrived and took him straight to hospital. An hour after that the police arrived and proceeded to ask him several questions about what happened and how he was involved in the incident, being one hundred percent honest and the fact that they did not ask if he was a Power Ranger.

Several Days later-Rita's Palace

Rita watched as Finster created an monster to use the Bow of Darkness, currently Finster was making a Centaur Monster to use the weapon. Currently the Monster was standing at a make shift archery range where a horse man monster stood holding the Bow of Darkness and drew a shoot and fired. The Centaur Monster burst into dust before a single arrow was fired instantly exploding in a violent display of power. Rita grits her teeth as Shurikan stepped next to her and commented, "It appears that whoever has that weapon will die after using it."

Rita growls and heads to her telescope and starts spying on the rangers where she sees the Rangers volunteering to assist with the set up of a kids sports festival, for Justine and his classmates. Rita glares at the sight of Billy before shouting, "Goldar, you failed the boy is not in the Vault."

Goldar rushed inside the main chamber while shouting, "My empress I doused him in your sleeping powder the moment he opened the vault. There is no way he could have told them how to open the vault."

Rita growls before a thought came to light as she laughs with evil and says, "Oh, we kid napped one child, what is a couple Dozen more." She laugh hysterically.

Angel Grove Junior High-Sports Festival-That moment

Virgil was carrying a bunch of basket ball's for the event, where each team took it in turns to shoot three pointers in basketball. Sabrina, Barbara, Billy and Adam were working at other stations, such as the charity food stand or in Billy's case music PA system for announcements and other events. Tommy could be seen cooking for the Charity stands with Naruto and Ernie sorting out smoothies and other such drinks.

Mister Hawkin can be seen with Principle Caplan as they talk with the Principle of the Junior High about the safety of students after the incident with Justine. They did not expect the Rangers to make an appearance unless a monster attacked so some police had been called in to offer extra security for the coming events that afternoon. There was many students loitering or helping around the area before the events and parents arrived. Surprisingly the numbers were minimal in that most students were yet to arrive. Not that it mattered when a couple dozen Putty Patrollers arrived and started attacking the adults and teenagers, while separating several of the students ready to kidnap them.

Virgil spotted the Clucky Chicken and charged over to tackle the monster as the students, monster, Putty Patrollers and Virgil teleported away. Mister Hawkin shouts, "Virgil!" where everyone else notices what happened as the Putties were gone. The only one who appeared to not notice any of this was Naruto as he continued to mix drinks for everyone.

With Virgil-Desert outside Angel Grove-Cave

Virgil was thrown through the air and into the side of a large cage that had been set up for the kids to be locked inside of. Virgil was dazed before the Putties pulled out some chain and a lock to tie him up with. Virgil was then thrown into a corner while the students were pushed into the cage before Clucky Chicken spoke, "Yes all the children I need for my Human Child Soup and a Teenager on the side for dipping! Bawk!" Virgil just blinks at that.

At the Sports Festival-twenty minutes later

The other four Rangers were answering questions of the limited police force, including Detective James Gordon who was speaking with Barbara and Sabrina about the kidnapping. Mister Hawkins was talking with the police as well about his son being caught up in everything. Billy and Adam were to the side while Naruto offered everyone a free drink, while Ernie spoke with police. Tommy had to leave after giving his statement.

Billy then hid behind Adam and spoke, "Zordon, is Virgil okay?"

"They are safe at the moment, but Virgil is unable to Morph at the moment," Zordon answered, "He is bound with the Children. When you are free from the police, Morph and we will teleport you to the cave's entrance."

"How much time do we have?" Adam asked over his shoulder.

"One hour, that is how long the Clucky Chicken's plan will take to prepare," Zordon answered.

"Is there no way for Virgil to get them out?" Adam asks in concern.

Zordon was silent for a moment, causing Billy to ask, "Zordon?"

"Virgil just escaped when the Putties' backs were turned," Zordon answered.

Back with Virgil

Virgil was patient as he waited for the Putties to make a mistake. That mistake came when they turned their backs on him and Virgil zapped the lock tying him down and was freed quickly. Virgil found a decent sized rock and knocked the Putties out before moving them to a large sack. Virgil then spoke to the kids and says, "Don't worry, I am going to get you out of here. Just like Static."

Justine who was in the group asks, "Static. Don't you mean the Power Rangers?"

Virgil smiles and kneels next to the lock of their cage before commenting, "Back in Dakota, we had our own super hero, by the name of Static. He gained the power of Static electricity he was so cool and smart that he could use his power to fly through the air on trash can lids and sewer caps. He had this other trick he could pick locks with a touch. Now as I am not Static, I have to use a couple Paper clips I had in my pocket," he showed one off before zapping the lock and unlocking the cage quietly and says, "Help me with these sacks," the children did help move the putties before Virgil locked them in and lick his finger and found an air current, "This way."

Another kid, a snooty girl asks, "What are you doing. That is very unclean."

Virgil shakes his head and says, "Well hopefully I have found a way for us to get out of here before we are turned into the chicken's version of chicken soup."

The kids followed Virgil to the back of the cave were they see another entrance behind several bars that had recently placed. There was little room between the bars but there was a spare bar that caused Virgil to smirk before picking it up. A third kid asks, "What are you doing now."

"Give me a pole and a lever and I can move the world," Virgil states before using the bar, by stabbing it in the ground on the other side of the bars and then pulled to one side and starts to slowly bend the bars before asking the kids, "Seriously, more weight and pulling we can all get out." With that some of the stronger kids started to help Virgil and managed to bend one bar before doing a second bar and they managed to all escape the cave before Clucky Chicken's Putties collected the bound Putties and moved them to the large soup pot and started cooking. When Virgil had led the kids away from the cave and were walking towards the highway to Angel Grove as Virgil states, "See guys we worked together and we got away from the monster. What did we all learn?"

A forth kid spoke, "Working together we can move the world," Virgil smirks before telling them the adventures of Static and his sidekicks, Gear and Shebang. Until they reached the highway where they took a break and fortunately the police was seen driving towards them where Virgil waved them down.

With that Virgil hugged his father as he came with them along with a school bus to take them back to the school to join in on the Sports Festival while Virgil gave his statement before going with his father back to the town before Mister Hawkins parks in an Alley and says, "Go save the world." With that Virgil smirks before teleporting to the command centre. Mister Hawkins decided to take a nap.

Command Centre an Hour after Virgil had been captured.

Virgil appeared in the Command Centre as he cracks his back and says, "Man, saving kids is hard work."

Virgil chuckles as everyone shakes their heads before Billy asks, "How did you manage to get away?"

"Billy, learn to pick locks it will save your life when kid napped by super villains," Virgil answers before looking to Zordon and says, "That Chicken is going to figure out what happened sooner or later."

With that everyone one morphed and teleported to the cave entrance. Alpha spoke, "That roast Chicken is going to be upset." And received and agreeing hum from Zordon.

Back at the cave

Clucky Chicken hums as he pats his stomach after some delicious soup, the bag of Putties still soaking in the giant soup bowl, still lightly twitching. The Power Rangers arrived and walked right in to find a well fed monster as Red spoke up, "Wow, I guess Rita's Monsters can't tell the difference between Children and Putty Patrollers," before he summoned his Power Sword and cut the bag open revealing the Putties. The strangest part being that they were still 'alive' in the sense.

The Chicken appeared shocked before pulling out a pair of hedge clippers and started attacking the rangers violently enough that the cave starts to collapse around them. The Rangers use their Power Blasters to get some distance before rushing out the cave. The Clucky Chicken recovers enough to charge after them leaving a bunch of Putties who were to scared of the Chicken Monster that ate their kind.

The Rangers managed to summon their weapons and knocked the Chicken Monster down before suddenly Rita's Magicwand crashed near the monster causing it to grow. The Ranger's summoned their Zords and combined into a giant Tank where they destroyed the monster suffering from indigestion before the Monster was destroyed by its own gluttony.

After the battle-Sports Festival

Virgil, Sabrina, Billy, Adam and Barbara were cheering on the students and Justine as they competed against another group of students in a game of Tug of War. Virgil smirks as Justine took the lead by shouting, "On three! 1! 2! 3!" with that his team worked together and was able to move the world as they won the contest and all gave Virgil a thumbs up as he cheered him on.

Naruto to the side where he was staring at the group with a light and dazed smile, while Ernie found himself staring at Naruto deep in thought. Tommy had left earlier due to a prior engagement at the City Hall Archive to look up some history of himself.
