The Missing Sun
Chapter Four
Sitting in her room at her table, a sigh escaped Cassie's lips before she took another sip from her glass. Everything so far has gone according to plan, yet something didn't feel right. Artemis, while still searching for her brother she still had no clue where she was. But she couldn't shake this feeling that something still wasn't right.
Another sigh escaped Cassie as she looked up at an old picture on her wall. It was that of a woman with long reddish-brown hair wearing a blue and white gown that touched the ground in the back. Cassie rose to her feet. Closing her eyes, a reddish glow formed around her body as the eyes in the picture glowed as well. Touching the picture, a smile spread across her lips.
"Oh yes, how could I forget such a thing," Cassie whispered.
Taking a deep breath, Cassie opened her eyes as she turned to her door it wasn't long for only a moment later someone knocking.
"Enter."
In walked a woman with short spikey blond hair with hazel brown eyes. She bowed to Cassie who gave her a nod before sitting back down in her chair.
"Yes, Jessica?" Cassie asked.
"It's Artemis," Jessica said.
"What of her?"
"She might have found us because of one of Apollo's offspring."
"The location of the offspring?"
"The Golden Sun Library, we have people heading there now,"
Leaning back in her chair Cassie crossed her arms perhaps this is what she felt before nodding to herself, her eyes narrowed when she knew who could be behind this.
"Join them and if you find the offspring, you know what to do." Cassie said sternly.
"With pleasure, my lady, and what about you?"
"It's time I have another chat with our captive, for it seems he's not be behaving," Cassie said, followed with a smile that spread across her lips.
Walking down the street Artemis eyes were darting back and forth, she made sure to reminder everything she passed from a tree to even where the trash cans were but what drew her attentions were the shadows. At first there was only one, now there were ten. Artemis's eyes narrowed as she kept walking. When she stopped, so did the shadows. Looking ahead, her, she spotted Golden sun she was a few feet away from the library.
"Well, I guess it time to get this show on the road."
Inside the Golden Sun, Helen's eyes widen as she plotted down in her chair. At first, she shook her head in denial but, the more she thought about it the more familiar the voice felt to her. She had never laid eyes on her father before.
"Apollo?" Helen asked.
"Yes, Helen, now I know you have many questions but I have little time for I need your help." Apollo said.
Helen remained silent; she had many questions, tons in fact, but she would make him answer them later.
"Okay, how can I help?" Helen asked.
"She's close. Good always figures out what I am up to." Apollo said.
Before Helen could ask what, he was talking about a woman with long reddish-brown hair walked into the library. Wearing a greenish brown shirt and pants with brown boots. This was defiantly someone she had never seen come in here before. But Helen planted a smile on her face as the woman walked up to her desk.
"Welcome to the Golden Sun. Is there anything I can help you with today?" Helen asked.
The woman said nothing and stared at Helen. She then leaned in as her Jasmine green eyes flicker giving off a brief green glow.
"Sister…" Apollo said.
Helen's eyes widen for she remembered a book she read about her father and the woman that his twin.
"Artemis…." Helen said aloud before bowing slightly.
The Goddess smiled, for the yellow aura around the librarian shined brighter than all the other children of her brother she encountered. Yup, she had finally found the one she had been looking for.
"Very good. Did my brother tell you that?" Artemis asked.
"He just said 'sister' and then I remembered my history and realized that it is you but, hang on you can hear him too Apollo, I mean?" Helen asked.
"No, but you can and because of that you are about to be in a lot of trouble," Artemis said.
Soon a loud banging noise reaches both their ears. They turned to see people in black robes banging on the door to get in, but they were being kept at bay by a sting of white electric. Helen wasted no time slipping on her quiver and pulling out her bow. As Artemis pulled out her sword, she glance to her left to see a familiar face standing there, along with a gifted mortal.
"Percy, it's been a while," Artemis said.
Slipping his pen out of his pocket, Percy nodded before glancing over at the door.
"Care to explain what this is about?" Percy asked bluntly.
"I'll explain everything later, but first we need to get out of this," Artemis said.
Before Percy could ask what she was talking about, Janet tapped Percy on the shoulder as he turned around to see more people in cloaks walking up the aisle towards them. Percy and Janet backed up, joining Artemis and Helen by the desk.
"How did they get thought the door?" Helen asked.
"They didn't I think they were already here." Janet said.
As the cloaked people inside grew closer, the windows on the door shattered and more of the cloaked people crawled inside. Tossing Janet her staff, Helen's eyes narrowed. As the cloaked people surrounded the four of them.
"Who knew collecting a book from a mythical library would end up like this," Percy said.
"I hope your not upset," Artemis said.
"Nope, I'm thrilled," Percy said, followed with a smile.
"Enough talk everyone, for its time to start busting some heads!" Janet said yelled.
