"The stone reacts to anything organic," Gamora says. "The bigger the target, the bigger the power surge."

"All Ronan's gotta do is touch the stone to the planet's surface and zap," Peter adds. "All plants, animals, Nova Corps."

"Everything will die," I continue.

"So Ronan does not make the surface. Rocket will lead a team to blow a hole in the Dark Aster's starboard hull. Then, our craft and Yondu's will enter."

"Won't there be hundreds of Sakaaran soldiers inside?" Kraglin asks.

"I think of Sakaarans as paper people," Drax replies.

"Once they know we're on board, Ronan will isolate himself behind impenetrable security doors on deck," Gamora continues. "Which I can disable by dismantling the power source."

"We'll make it to the flight deck, and I'll use the Hadron Enforcer to kill Ronan," Peter says.

"Once Ronan is dead, we will retrieve the stone. Use these devices to contain it. If you touch it, it will kill you."

"I'll contact one of the Nova officers who arrested us. Hopefully, they'll believe we're there to help."

"There's one more thing we need to complete the plan," Rocket tells us. "That guy's eye." He points to one of the older Ravagers who had a cybernetic eye. I nearly facepalm.

"No! No, we don't. No, we don't need that guy's eye." Peter protests.

"No, seriously, I need it! It's important to me." Now, I do facepalm.

"This is a terrible plan," Gamora states as we fly to Xandar.

"Really, it took you this long to realize that?" I remark snidely.

"Hey, you're the one who said you wanted to die among friends," Peter tells Ronan's former ally.

"Peter, can I talk to you for a sec?" I request.

"Sure," he agrees, following me out of the cockpit.

"The Monitor visited me on Knowhere," I say once I'm sure the others won't hear us.

"You mean that really weird dude that zapped you to this universe?"

"Yeah. He was going on about my 'purpose' and 'preserving the timeline', but he returned my powers."

"Returned your powers as in…"

"I don't think I need yellow sun radiation to charge my abilities anymore."

After a short flight, we manage to make it onto Ronan's ship, The Dark Aster.

"I can barely see," Drax notes as Gamora leads us through the ship's hallways. Groot releases several glowing spores that light our way. "When did you learn to do that?"

"I'm pretty sure the answer is 'I am Groot'," Peter answers.

"The flight deck is three hundred meters this way," Gamora says.

"I want you all to know that I am grateful for your acceptance after my blunders," Drax states. "It is pleasing to once again have friends. You, Quill, are my friend."

"Thanks," Peter replies.

"This angry teenager is my friend."

"Whatever," I say.

"This dumb tree, he is my friend."

"Oh, you must stop!" Gamora complains as her sister, Nebula, arrives in our path.

Gamora, look at what you have done," says Nebula "You have always been weak. You stupid, traitorous-."

"Nobody talks to my friends like that!" Drax yells as he shoots Nebula.

"Head to the flight deck," Gamora tells us. "I'll shut down the power to the security doors."

"Kata Jor-El, Star-Lord," Korath announces as he confronts us.

"Finally!" Peter exclaims, obviously overjoyed that someone got his codename right.

"You will never make it to Ronan."

"Gamora hasn't opened the door!"

"You did it!" Drax shouts in triumph as Gamora opens the door to Ronan. We attack Ronan and after a short fight, it becomes clear that we are going to crash onto Xandar's surface. Groot grows a leafy bush to shield us from destruction.

"No, Groot!" Rocket begs. "You can't, you'll die. Why are you doing this? Why?"

"We are Groot."

We land on the planet's surface.

"I called him an idiot!" The raccoon cries as he cradles the twigs of what were once Groot.

"Guys, evil Megamind is back," I call as Ronan steps into view.

"You killed Groot!" Rocket screams, running at the Kree, only to be knocked back.

"Behold!" Ronan begins an evil monologue. "Your Guardians of the Galaxy! What fruit have they wrought? Only that my father and his father shall finally know vengeance. People of Xandar, the time has come to rejoice and renounce your paltry gods! Your salvation is at hand."

Peter starts singing.

"What are you doing?"

"Dance-off, bro," Peter replies. "Me and you."

"What are you doing," the supervillain asks again.

"I'm distracting you, you big turd blossom." I take advantage of Peter's diversion and blast Ronan's hammer with my laser vision, freeing the purple gem that the orb once contained. Peter grabs the stone, which begins to hurt him. We all join hands to share the deadly power of the Infinity Stone.

"You're mortal! How?" Ronan exclaims in shock.

"You said it yourself," I reply, even though I'm, like, thirty-two percent sure that I'm not mortal.

"We're the Guardians of the Galaxy," Peter continues. We use the stone to blast Ronan, before placing it in a new orb.

"Well, well, well. Quite the light show." Yondu announces, walking up to us. "Ain't this sweet. But you got some business to attend to."

Whoops. With everything that had happened since our arrest, Peter and I had forgotten that Youndu was still mad. And he still wanted the gem.

"Peter, Kata, you can't," Gamora warned.

"Youndu, you can't sell the stone," I tell the leader of the Ravagers.

"You gotta reconsider this," Peter says. "The only way the universe can survive is if you give it to the Nova Corps."

"I may be as pretty as an angel, but I sure ain't one," Yondu responds "Hand it over, kids."

"Yondu," I say as Peter gives him the artifact. "Do not open that orb. You know that, right? You've seen what it does to people." .

"He's gonna be so pissed when he realizes we switched out the orb on him," Peter laughs.

"He was gonna kill you two," Gamora tells us.

"Oh, I know," Peter replies. "But he was about the only family we had."

"No," Gamora replies "He wasn't."
