The next day, nobody caught even a glimpse of Lore. He seemed to have holed up in his room, not daring to come mingle with everyone else. Not that he would, anyway. Data had to admit this saddened him. He had a chance to talk to his brother once more, without his life or the lives of the people around him being in danger. But Lore did not seem as keen on the idea as Data did. Data voiced his thoughts to Geordi as they worked on repairing one of the Enterprise's computers that had been malfunctioning recently.

"I think you should give him his space, Data," Geordi said, disentangling a few wires underneath the computer.

Data hummed in reply, still debating whether or not he should try and talk to Lore. Geordi was probably right, though. He knew more about feelings than Data did, being human and all. So Data let his brother be.
