The Poor Slytherin first year would forever remember the day she had chosen to get to the Great Hall early for breakfast, excited about the surprise Professor had for them in flying class that morning, Imogene Chalmers wanted to get the first meal of the day over and done with in plenty of time for the class. She would also remember the blood-curdling scream that erupted deep within her, when she happened upon the lifeless body of Ginerva Weasley, a scream so loud and so fierce it reverberated off the stonewalls.

The sound had brought Professor Sinistra running towards her, face etched in concern. She instructed the stunned girl to go as fast as she could and get Madame Pomfrey telling her it was a matter of urgency. Not waiting to be told twice Imogene, scampered off in the direction of the Infirmary, she returned minutes later with Poppy hot on her heels.

The Matron of Hogwarts waved her wand deftly over Ginny's body, looking for any sign that would tell her what had happened to the ginger haired witch. Severus had been informed and was currently standing with Minerva, Aurora and Poppy awaiting the results of Poppy's examination.

'It appears as if she has been poisoned' Poppy announced to the room

'What kind of poison?' Severus asked

'That I don't know Severus, it seems to be a rather complex one at any rate' Poppy frowned

'I had better inform the Minister' Severus countered

'I will contact Molly and let her know what has happened' Minerva informed the headmaster

By the beginning of the first class the whole castle knew about Ginny being found outside Harry's classroom. A lot of speculation centred around if this was simply another attempt to win the affections of the Flying instructor, in that respect not many of the student body held any matter of sympathy for the redheaded witch. Zacharias Smith was one of the very few that had any genuine concern for her well being, and thought he would inquire as to whether he would be able to visit and when.

'Probably did it to herself stupid bint' Draco scoffed, unpacking his bag in potions class

'Wouldn't put it past her' Seamus replied 'does Harry know yet?'

'I don't know he was down in the sheds, getting organised this morning, so maybe not' Draco answered

'Will he care?' Vincent Crabbe interjected

'No' Greg Goyle chimed in

'She's just pathetic' Cho snorted 'Thinks far too highly of herself'

'Well said love' Greg smiled, kissing her cheek

Harry had just stepped into the infirmary when Molly Weasley rounded on him, eyes blazing and nostrils flared.

'It was you' she screeched 'you did this to my Ginny, all because she sent you a harmless contract, you go and poison her'

'I have no idea what you are talking about' Harry retorted 'I was told one of my students had been brought in here, I know nothing about the state of your daughter'

'Ah yes Harry, Miss Chalmers is in the private room, she got a bit of a fright when she came across Miss Weasley' Poppy explained

'Would someone care to tell me what's wrong with Miss Weasley and why I am being blamed for it?' Harry said stiffly

'She was poisoned Harry, found unconscious outside your classroom' Poppy said sombrely

'You poisoned her, you and that husband of yours' Molly wailed

'I nor Harry did nothing of the sort' Severus intoned as he came into the hospital Kingsley behind him.

'Can you tell me what happened Poppy?' Kingsley said evenly

'Certainly Minister, Miss Weasley was found unconscious in the hallways early this morning, after examining her I believe she has been poisoned, with what and how I am unsure' Poppy replied

'I want him arrested for attempted murder' Molly screamed

'I was no where near my classroom this morning, I have been down in the equipment sheds, until 1 hour ago when I had my first class, which is how I came to find out Miss Chalmers was here'

'You're lying' Molly howled

'Fine, would you like me to be questioned under Veritaserum, make a wizards oath, view my memories, perhaps all 3?' Harry challenged

'You'd only find a way to beat it' Molly scoffed

'No one can beat truth serum Molly, not even Harry' Kingsley reminded the woman

'He did it, I know he did' she sneered

'I'm not going to stand here and listen to this, I have a student to check on, excuse me' Harry moved past the crowd and through to the private room his student was currently resting in.

'Coward' Molly snarled 'Can't face the truth so you run away'

'That is enough Molly, anymore remarks like that and you will be asked to leave' Poppy snapped

'What are you doing to help my daughter?' Molly rounded on the Matron

'The best I can until I find the cause of her condition' Poppy retorted

'I will confer with Horace Poppy, perhaps there is an antidote that may prove successful' Severus suggested

'Thank you Severus that would be most helpful ' Poppy smiled wanly

'You trust him to actually find something to help my Ginny, when he was probably in on it to start with' Molly muttered

'Last warning Molly' Poppy glared 'and yes I trust Severus with a great many things'

'More fool you' Molly quipped

'You need to leave Molly, I will sit with Ginerva' Arthur snipped, walking into the room in time to hear his ex wife's comment

'Surprised you came or care Arthur' Molly glowered

'I care Molly, now leave before you cause anymore trouble' Arthur said tersely

Severus and Horace spent the better part of the morning pouring over potions books, both old and new. Each time an answer seemed within their grasp it would slip away, for two men as accomplished as these, it was a maddening frustrating situation. Severus had his job as headmaster to do, but he worried for his husband, Harry had not taken the news well, nor being blamed for whatever ailed the silly girl. Slamming the last book shut, Horace huffed out a breath and wiped his brow.

'The answer isn't here' he said resignedly

'No it seems to be one that is unreachable Horace' Severus replied glumly

'Maybe we should seek professional advice from healers, maybe there is something they can do?' Horace suggested

'It's a possibility we will have to consider' Severus answered 'Excuse me Horace but I have a meeting with the Minister, please let me know if you find anything that could be of use'

'Certainly Severus' Horace said wryly

The group had gathered in Draco's private room, at the beginning of the year he had been made prefect, and with it came his own room away from the dorms. Hermione had called an urgent meeting of sorts to discuss the Ginny situation.

'We are agreed that she had probably done this to herself?' Hermione asked the room

'Definitely' Ron scowled 'Now my mother is using Harry as an excuse to blame someone'

'Where is Harry, shouldn't he be here for this?' Vincent Crabbe piped up

'He has taken a personal day, I went to see Uncle Sev and he told me Harry had left him a note saying he was going to London for a day or so' Draco announced 'It has really hit him hard'

'How's Severus?' Hermione asked

'Angry, hurt, upset, ready to curse or kill someone' Draco replied 'Harry is his life, he can't stand to see him hurting'

'Well then it's up to us to do something' Katie interjected

'Why don't we search her room, her trunk she if she is hiding anything in there that could help us?' Neville countered

'Katie or I could look' Hermione pondered 'It shouldn't be hard to get into her trunk'

'I know the password if you get stuck' Ron offered

'Good that will help' Hermione smiled 'is anyone going to try and talk to Harry?'

'Maybe I could get dad or George to try?' Ron said 'He trusts both of them'

'Do you think we should just leave him be, let him sort things out on his own?' Seamus wondered 'We all know what Harry's like when he's upset'

'Yes, but he needs to know that no one here thinks he had anything to do with it' Hermione put in

'I'll talk to dad' Ron told the room 'he is still in the infirmary I can ask him'

'I can go and see if Uncle Sev has heard from him' Draco informed

'Alright we will meet back here tomorrow morning before breakfast' Hermione stated

Harry stared out over the cityscape, watching the cars go by, the people on the pavement below rushing home, or to get those last minute purchases.

He'd had to get out of the castle; it felt like all the walls were closing in on him. Molly's words had stung more than they should have and more than he should have allowed. Despite the fact he had come to loathe Ginny, he would never resort to acts of attempted murder of poisoning because of the things she had done.

It was more likely that she had done something to herself as a last desperate attempt to gain Harry's attention; if that was the case then she was in serious need of a mind healer. The answer he knew wasn't going to be easy to find, Ginny would have made sure of that, it would be some out there form of magic she had stumbled across.

He didn't often spend the night away from his husband and wasn't fond of the idea, but wasn't about to take whatever mood was plaguing him out on Severus, that's not how their marriage worked. Harry just hoped that he understood.

Katie and Hermione waited until the rest of the girls had gone down for dinner, before they went up to Ginny's dorm room. The trunk didn't pose much of a problem, Hermione had to resort to the password which surprise was Harry, a small gasp escaped when she saw inside, it was a shrine to Harry, she had photos of him from years past, there was a copy of his class schedule, the aftershave he wore.

She hit the jackpot after moving the top layer, buried underneath was a thick book; it looked to be from the school library. Hermione opened it and noted that there was a small piece of paper wedged into the spine, it appeared to be some sort of German folk tale, the further Hermione read the quicker her heart thudded in her chest.

'Katie come and look at this' Hermione asked the Gryffindor

'What is it?' Katie asked coming over and reading where Hermione's finger was pointing

'Merlin, do you think that's what she did?' Katie asked incredulously

'I'm beginning to think so' Hermione frowned 'If she was desperate enough'

'We all know she was' Katie murmured 'I found something to', she picked up the box that had been hidden under Ginny's bed, opening the top the girls looked inside and found 6 books neatly stacked. Katie pulled out the first one and showed Hermione.

'That's the same as the one you have isn't it?' Katie asked

'Yes, but I'll bet anything if you flick through the story, the potion ingredients won't be in that version' Hermione replied

Katie flicked through the pages and sure enough, no potion was listed anywhere in the book, so that meant she had gone looking for the original version, hoping that the potion would be in that. As Hermione scanned further she noted there was a page missing from the book, the page with the potion outlined.

'Katie there is a page missing' Hermione informed her friend

'Which page is it?' Katie asked already knowing the answer

'Page with the potion on it' Hermione said gravely

Going back to the bed, Katie found the redheads cauldron, pulling it out she noted that it emitted a strange odour, one she was sure had never been taught in Potions class by either Professor Snape or Professor Slughorn. She gave it to Hermione to smell, the witch furrowed her brow in concentration.

'There is something familiar about that smell, but I cant quite put my finger on it' Hermione puzzled

'Professor Slughorn might have some idea' Katie thought 'I'll look under the bed again see if I can find anymore'

While Katie did that, Hermione kept on reading, she was almost at the end now and the feeling in the pit of her stomach only worsened the further on she read.

'So that's why she did it' Hermione muttered 'Stupid foolish girl'

'What did you say Hermione?' Katie asked coming out from under the bed

'I found the reason for Ginny choosing this particular fairytale' Hermione said sombrely

'What is it?' Katie asked cautiously

'Read that bit there' Hermione pointed to the line

'She thinks that Harry will be the one to wake her up' Katie breathed

'Yep, the only reason she would go to these lengths is because she truly believes Harry belongs to her' Hermione huffed

'That girl has got serious problems' Katie shook her head 'Poor Harry'

'We will have to tell Headmaster Snape' Hermione supplied 'he needs to know'

'I agree, do you think we should tell him now or wait until morning?' Katie asked

'I want to research this a bit more, so we have all the facts when we present this to him' Hermione said 'I am going to go to the library before curfew'

'Ill come with you' Katie offered. 'I will hide the cauldron and books in my trunk, so no one can get their hands on them'

'Good idea, lets go' Hermione and Katie left the dorm rooms and exited via the painting of the Fat Lady

They had been in the library about half an hour when Hermione slammed her hand down on the book currently in front of her, the sound made Katie jump

'Face cream' Hermione exclaimed

'I'm sorry what?' Katie asked, wondering what face cream had to do with what they were doing

'Face cream' Hermione repeated 'That's where I've smelt that scent before it's a type of skin cream that replenishes the skin, my mum uses it'
