Chapter 5

Robin POV

I adjust my suit as we get in the T-car.

"Do we atleast have a plan?" Beastboy asks as I look at him and roll my eyes.

"Yes, get Starfire and get out" I exclaim clearly annoyed.

"Robin, this isn't some petty criminal. This is Slade, our biggest rivals" Cyborg says as I clench my fists.

"Don't you think I know that? I don't have a plan because I don't know what we are heading into. All I know is that Star is in a ton of trouble and we have to help her" I say frustrated as I run a hand through my hair. Cyborg sighs in response.

"We need to all be on game if we want to stand a chance, okay?" Beastboy says quietly as I give a small smile in response. Cyborg stops the car as we all get out looking at each other with a small smile.

"Lets do this" I exclaim as we enter the caves ready for anything. We walk in and see Starfire lying down on some machine. Slade steps out of the shadows with Terra behind him.

"I expected you to be quicker Robin, I'm disappointed." Slade says letting out a little chuckle. I let out a sigh.

"Titans, go" I say as we all move into our positions. Beastboy goes straight for Starfire and the machine as some of Slade's robots drop from the ceiling. I start heading in Slade's direction as I see that Terra is shaking as she starts to attack Raven. I reach Slade and throw a kick in his direction, which he blocks with his hand.

"That speech you gave was pathetic. I thought you were better than that. Couldn't even protect your little friend" Slade says as he smirks and throws a punch in my direction. I grimace at the thought and ramp up my attack throwing various punches and kicks at Slade as he stumbles back. We continuing sparring, neither of us able to get a firm hit or kick on the other. I see that Terra has stopped fighting Raven and was instead using her telekinesis and was swiftly destroying most of Slades' henchmen. Slade sees me look over and sighs.

"Can't control her and fight me can you?" I say smirking as I catch his foot and spin him around as Slade chuckles.

"With or without Terra you guys are nothing" he says as he regains his composure. I see Beastboy as a pterodactyl as he carries Starfire to the surface and I smile sadly.

Beastboy POV

I lift Starfire to the top of the cave as I feel her body start to heat up. I place her on top of the cave as a bright light engulfs her body. Her green eyes open in a flash as she blinks repeatedly. I turn back to myself as I kneel over her.

"Are you okay Star?" I say as I see Starfire sit up and put a hand on her forehead.

"I am doing the fine, Beastboy. Where is everyone?" she asks looking at me curiously.

"Fighting off Slade and his henchmen. Are you sure you are, okay?" I ask nervously as she smiles standing up and does a jump. I smile at her enthusiasm as I pull her into a tight hug, she makes a squeak as I let her go a smile planted on my face.

"See? Fine Beastboy. We must go" she exclaims as she flies into the air.

"I'm sorry Star that we couldn't protect you" I say as she shakes her head furiously.

"I wasn't in the space head to be able to fight. I put everyone at risk with my actions. The only person to blame is me" Starfire says her head facing the floor.

"Star, we knew you were struggling and still let you go out there. Everyone could have been better. Are you strong enough to fight?" I ask looking over Starfire as she smiles.

"Yes, lets go" she exclaims as she flies down as I change back into a pterodactyl. We head back into the fight as I see Starfire shooting star bolts at the henchman. Most of the henchmen had been knocked out as we all start to move closer towards Slade. I see Terra moves swiftly in the direction of Slade as she begins picking rocks and throwing them at Slade.

"You have lost Slade. You took everything from me" she exclaims as she throws more rocks at him, as Slade tries to dodge them the best he can, as the cave starts to rumble, the cave seemingly likely to collapse. I move towards her as I turn back into human form.

"Terra stop. You are going to kill us all" I exclaim as I grab Terra's hand as she looks at me sadly and droops her head. She throws another rock as it hits some remote control which breaks into a million pieces.

"You can't control me anymore" she exclaims.

As Terra becomes distracted Slade presses a button on a remote in his pocket and snickers.

"You are too late Titans. A bomb will be falling on Jump City in minutes and you can do nothing to stop it. After all, it is made from your own Starfire's energy" he says as he smirks making towards the exit. Terra throws one large rock at Slade which causes him to stumble to the ground and disappears behind his cape. We all look around to see if we can see him, but he appears to have vanished.

"Dammit" Robin says under his breath as I see Cyborg head towards Starfire and engulf her in a hug.

"I'm so glad you are okay. We missed you sweetie" he exclaims as Starfire pulls away smiling.

"Friend Cyborg, I am indeed happy to see you" she expresses smiling. We all look at each other.

"As much as I want to do the reuniting, there is a bomb that is about to go off and I need to stop it" Starfire exclaims her eyes becoming a glare.

"You need to stop it?" Robin asks his eyebrow quirking up as Starfire lets out a sigh in response. We all look over at Starfire confused by her omission.

"My power of radioactive energy cannot be stopped by any of you. Terra's telekinesis won't be able to stop it, its too powerful. The amount of rock that would be needed to contain the blast would still level Jump City. I need to absorb the energy myself, that is the only way" she exclaims looking directly at Robin who's eyes droop in response. I see Cyborg grabbing out a laptop as he punches some stuff in it, his face looking concerned.

"Won't that kill you?" I ask nervously as Starfire looks over at me and shakes her head.

"No, since I am already the weakened my body should easily just absorb the power and be fine" Starfire says as we all nod.

"This bomb is going off in a matter of minutes. If this is indeed the plan, we need to move" Cyborg says as he looks over at Robin expecting the go ahead.

"Promise me Star. Promise me this bomb won't kill you" Robin says as he moves to standing in front of Starfire so she can't avert her gaze.

"I promise Robin" she says as she pulls Robin in for a hug, letting out a sigh. She pulls away a slight frown on her face.

"Titans go" Robin says as we all head into the T-Car Terra stumbling behind.

"Terra come in" I exclaim looking over at Robin for permission of some kind, he looks at me and smiles.

"You are part of this team Terra, you helped us save Star. Get in" Robin says a smile planted on his face as Terra looks between the two of us beaming.

"Thank you" she exclaims as she jumps in the back as we head off.
