A/N: I've got good news and bad news. The bad news is I decided not to rewrite my Mighty Med Story, Our One Thousand Moments. I don't want to put in the time and effort needed to write the story, and since I probably have enough story ideas to last the rest of my life, this story has been tossed aside. The time travel plot was stupid and impulsive if I'm to be honest. The good news is that I'm giving you the ending to the Mighty Med Story. It's probably not the same title and there will be characters you don't know about since I have not done the rewrite, but I hope that you can understand some of it, as I included exposition. Here's the ending for you all.

Disclaimer: I do not own Mighty Med. I only own my OCs and the pairings.

Note: The pronunciation of Guy is Gee, not Guy. Also, I decided that this ending should be in this chapter instead of a new story.

Oliver's POV

"I literally cannot believe you right now, Oliver," Skylar seethed as the five of us sat in the Mighty Med rec room. After Guy witnessed my mother nearly destroy the entire wedding a few days ago, I did some thinking and I came to the realization that Guy deserves to know about Mighty Med. After all, Catherine has had to keep the secret from her brother back when she first got her injury. In addition, Catherine has also lied and fought for me each time Guy complains about how I always leave Catherine. My girlfriend shouldn't have to carry that burden.

The five of us – Skylar, Kaz, Andrew, Kyla, and I – were in the rec room and reacting to the proposal I was offering. That is, telling Guy about Mighty Med. The conversation wasn't going nearly as well as I thought.

"I'm with Skylar on this, buddy. It's a horrible idea," my best friend since kindergarten stated, leaning back on the couch to cuddle with his Calderan girlfriend.

"Personally, it's up to do. I don't have a preference, but if you think Guy is ready to handle the responsibility, then you tell him," Andrew decided.

I smiled, glad that someone was on my side. Truth be told, I was somewhat surprised that Kaz wasn't on my side, but Kaz has sided with Skylar ever since the two got together. I was proud of Kaz for finding the special girl in his life. He deserved someone like Skylar who could keep him in check and help him become more of a hero.

You see, after Kaz and I touched the Arcturion – we were trying to stop my mother, Mr. Terror, from acquiring unlimited powers – the two of us gained superpowers. Unfortunately, my mom escaped and has since been on the run. For the past couple of days, everyone in Mighty Med has been walking around on eggshells in fear that I would go off the handle. While I appreciated the thought, it was kind of getting annoying.

Plus, it wasn't helping. My life was a wreck. Between attempting to control my new powers, attempting to move out of my mom's house, spending time with my girlfriend, working at Mighty Med, and trying to keep Skylar's and Kaz's raging emotions in check, I was at a loss of how to balance everything out.

"I'm with Andrew on this," Nightstrike's daughter, Kyla, commented. "Of course, that shouldn't surprise you."

"It doesn't," I admitted. "So I'm at a standstill. Spark doesn't want to get involved in choosing. Skylar and Kaz are against the idea, and you and Andrew are for it. Well, I guess my sister holds the tiebreaker."

Nobody commented on that. As I had discussed what I came to discuss, I stood up from my spot. "Well, I have some more packing to do. Andrew, make sure Skylar and Kaz are kept in check."

Kaz and Skylar threw their hands up in exasperation, not frustration. "It was just one time!" Kaz complained.

"Besides, Horace stopped us from doing that," Skylar added.

"That's not the point!" I argued. "You two tried to have a quickie on my mom's wedding day!"

Kaz and Skylar didn't even try to deny it. Andrew and Kyla gaped at the couple but didn't say anything.

I stormed out of Mighty Med before I said any hurtful words. The truth of the matter is that I was regretting inviting Kaz to my mother's wedding. I mean, really. What kind of guy tries to take a quickie on his best friend's mother's wedding? While Kaz was still my best friend, he had to do a lot to make sure that he regained my trust.

My older sister looked up from lifting boxes as I entered my house. It took some major convincing on Olivia's and my part, but my dad decided to let us stay here instead of moving with him to London.

"Oliver, we need to continue tackling our moving boxes. If you could organize what books you want and don't want today, then that would be a great help," Olivia said as she headed into the kitchen to make the two of us some lunch. "How was Mighty Med?"

"Fine. I guess. I don't know. Anyways, I'm going to get started. Call me when lunch is ready."

The first thing I did when I entered my room was I grabbed all the books off my shelf and laid them all on the bed. My bedroom was a wreck right now. I was half convinced a Boogeyman was underneath the bed.

Most of the books were comic books. Skylar Storm comic books to be specific. Before I discovered Mighty Med, if one was to ask me to move, I'd pack up and bring all of the Skylar Storm books in a heartbeat. Now, I wasn't so sure.

Before the Annihilator turned Skylar evil, before I learned Wallace and Clyde were Catastrophe, Kaz said something profound. He said that some things were more important than dating a pretty girl. I remember feeling so wrapped up over Skylar Storm that I neglected Catherine's condition. The day after Catherine discovered Mighty Med with us, a car hit her and she has been in a wheelchair ever since.

It took about a week since that event, but I stopped crushing on Skylar Storm. What was the point of it anyway? She never returned my feelings. My feelings for Catherine, however, have remained since I told her after that long period. I wouldn't ask anyone else to be my girlfriend. I just want Catherine.

I grabbed the first Skylar Storm comic book. Did I really need these anymore? While it would be nice to reread the Skylar Storm series for the umpteenth time, Skylar was heavily involved in my life. After all, she was dating my best friend, Kaz.

Skylar and Kaz. Skaz as people at Mighty Med call them. Stephanie enjoyed the situation immensely, as she no longer had to deal with Kaz's crush on her. The entire school seemed to enjoy the couple, even the teachers. If not for Skylar, Connie as the school knows her, Kaz's grades never would have gone up. Plus, I didn't realize it at the time, but they made a good couple.

Plus, even though I was his best friend, Kaz went through a depression that even I couldn't break. Around the same time, Skylar went through depression as well. The two managed to get each other out of the other's depression. There seemed to be a flame that connected Kaz's heart with Skylar's heart. The longer Kaz and Skylar spent apart, the duller the flame became. It was weird, but that's just the way it was.

I decided just then and there that I didn't need the Skylar Storm comics. My crush for Skylar was gone and with Kaz dating Skylar, I didn't have a need to keep the comics. Also, I've reread Skylar's comics so many times that I could probably recite seventy-plus books on her. I've been reading her comics since I was in fourth grade.

"Oliver! Lunchtime!" Oliva called.

I exited my room and sat down to a rather simple meal of macaroni and cheese. Olivia joined me with her own plate and sat down. The two of us didn't say anything at first, instead pushing the macaroni back and forth. Having enough of the silence, I said, "I've decided to get rid of the Skylar Storm comics."

"Wh-why?" My sister gasped and clutched at her chest. "What? But why? You idolize Skylar Storm!"

I sighed. That was true. However, I was still sticking with my decision. "I don't need them," I admitted. "Kaz is dating Skylar, so why keep them? Plus, I've read them about a hundred times."

Olivia brought her eyebrows together in a frown. "Fair enough. Anyways, um...I think I have an answer to our moving situation. A friend of mine in Centium City has offered me a place to stay and I was wondering if you wanted to move in with me. It would mean moving away from your girlfriend and everything, but at least we would have a place to stay, instead of here where I can barely afford the house."

Noticing that I wasn't saying anything, Olivia said, "Think about it and let me know." With that, Oliva began her lunch while I thought about what this might mean for me and everyone else.

Andrew's POV

As soon as Oliver left Mighty Med, I turned to Kaz and Skylar. Honestly, it was weird. Normally, I'm comfortable around these two. It's just, hearing Kaz and Skylar almost had a quickie on Bridget's wedding day…wow. I didn't know what to think.

Catching me staring at him, Kaz huffed. "Oh, come on! It's not like you and Kyla have never tried to do that before!"

Our faces flushed all fifty shades of red upon that remark. Indeed, we tried, and we succeeded, but it wasn't something we were publicly going to admit. Unlike Kaz and Skylar, who openly admitted they tried to do it. "That is true. Listen…"

I stared at Kaz and Skylar, the people that Oliver wanted me to be responsible for watching. As much as I wanted to honor Oliver's word, I didn't want to deal with Kaz and Skylar's romance just yet. Besides, I was more concerned in talking about something with my girlfriend, Kyla.

Kyla is the daughter of Nightstrike, Spark's nemesis. Ironically, Spark and Kyla are friends. Anyways, ever since the near wedding disaster, I felt pressed for time. I don't know why, but I really loved Kyla. I wanted to marry her.

Kyla was born to stand out. A thousand suns were cold to the love that I felt for her. I could tell her I love her every day and revel in her glow for the rest of my life, but it wouldn't be enough. If beauty were time, then Kyla would be eternity. She was like a kiss of summer rain and I ached for her. I know she felt the same way.

The question was, was it too much if I asked us to elope?

"Well?" Skylar said.

I looked to my girlfriend and then back at Skylar and Kaz. "Oliver won't like this, but I'm going to let you be unsupervised for a moment while I discuss something with my girlfriend."

As I suspected, Skylar and Kaz went straight to kissing. In the meantime, I grabbed my girlfriend's hand and led her outside into the hall. After scanning the surroundings and not seeing any nurses, doctors, or superheroes, I said, "I have something I need to tell you."

Playfully nudging me in the shoulder, Kyla said, "Okay. What is it?" Hearing my shallow breaths and seeing how I was avoiding eye contact, Kyla asked, "What's wrong?"

"I…" I sighed. There was no point in easing into it. "I want to elope."

Kyla's breath seemed to catch in her throat. "But we're not even married yet."

I looked down once again and stared at the floor. The floor was so interesting right now. "I know."

Upon silence, I realized that the question was too much. It was too much of me to ask Kyla to elope with me. I hadn't even gotten an engagement ring. However, I loved Kyla with my entire being, and with all the attacks on Mighty Med, why wait?

"I'm sorry. The question was too much. Forget I even brought it up," I apologized.

Kyla shook her head. "No, I won't. It's just, I'm surprised. What about our own wedding?"

"Do you have any idea how much planning that would require? We would have to invite everyone in Mighty Med. It would probably take months to plan all of this, and we would save a lot of money."

"Yes, but I've always wanted to walk down the aisle in white, and let's not forget the bachelor parties and all that fun stuff. Plus, we're not even in college yet. I still have to pick out dresses and everything."

"I know. It's just I love you and given all the attacks, why wait?"

Kyla stared at me and it took all of my willpower to refrain from melting. Gosh, was she beautiful? We could marry in a t-shirt and jeans and she would still be the world's most beautiful bride. Finally, Kyla nodded. "I'm not saying yes just yet, but I do think we should plan out the eloping."

On a state of high, every body part floating on a cloud, I seized my girlfriend by the shoulders and kissed her. When I pulled back, I mumbled, "I love you," and then went back in to kiss her once again.

Kyla chuckled and leaned into the kiss. "I love you too." Pulling away from me for a second, Kyla said, "Now help me get dressed for the party."

Kyla went to leave, but I grabbed her hand. "Babe, you're going to be beautiful in whatever you wear."

"You can flirt with me in bed. If you can wait that long," Kyla teased, releasing her hand and walking away.

I stared at her retreating form. Man, do I love this woman.

Oliver's POV

I talked some more with Olivia later that day. This came as a total surprise to me, but she was actually okay with me telling Guy about Mighty Med. She believed that Guy needed to know. It wasn't fair to keep lying to him about it. Besides, as much as I tolerate Guy, I love Catherine, and I would never let her keep secrets from her brother.

In addition, I also thought about my situation regarding Centium City, and I decided I wanted to move there. Finance had some of the reasons to do with why I wanted to move. In addition, Centium City looked nice from the pictures I saw. Heck, it was right in the middle of the city. Since I didn't think Catherine was comfortable flying back and forth on me, I decided I would use the Subway Station to travel back and forth to Catherine's house and to grab whatever else I needed from home, and there was a local park nearby where Catherine and I could visit. While it was true I could fly, I felt more comfortable taking the Subway.

Granted, Centium City Park wasn't the same park where we stared up at the stars for hours and I got grounded for coming home late, but it was still an awesome park. Plus, I could probably use a change of scenery, given all the destruction and chaos that my mom unleashed near that same park.

As soon as I approached my girlfriend's house, I went to open the door, only to pull back at the last second. What was I doing? I didn't need to knock; I basically lived there! Of course, Mom would want me to knock. It was always one of her unspoken rules growing up. Always knock before you enter any place.

On the other hand, Mom wasn't here anymore. She was on the run from the entire world. I could do as I pleased. Therefore, I let myself in.

"Hey, Oliver. Catherine is upstairs getting ready," Guy introduced.

I frowned. "What for? My work party isn't until tomorrow. That is…" I took out my phone and groaned when I realized that I had the wrong day. The party was actually in an hour. "Wrong day. This is just great. Man, I swear, I cannot keep track of anything lately."

"Graduation is only a few days away," Guy reminded. "Just don't forget about that. So are you going to tell me about your secret job?"

"Soon," I assured. "Um, I have to change, but I'll be right back."

I rushed out of my girlfriend's house and back to my house, which was a total mess. I was relieved when I learned my sister had forgotten about the Mighty Med anniversary party as well. After I texted Guy, telling him to take Catherine to the event and I would meet them there, Olivia and I scrambled around the house and managed to get ready in a half-hour. Once we were in the car, however, everything changed.

First of all, traffic sucked. Every car seemed to be going five miles an hour. Second, we had less than a tank of gas left in the car. Third, if we ever arrived, we would be two and a half hours late. I'm normally a dependable person. Showing up that late shouldn't happen.

Suddenly, the traffic came to a complete halt. I took a deep breath to calm down, not wanting to lose my mind in such an open area. As I sank back in the car, convinced that I was never going to get to the party, I saw the smoke. Even in the distance, I could see the big M for Mighty Med. My worst fear had come true.

The people in front of us hopped out of their cars, started screaming and running around as if it was a terrorist attack or something. Given the scene, I didn't blame them. In most cases, I would have done the same. However, a feeling of curiosity, one that was much stronger than the feeling of safety, compelled me to dash out of the car and sprint to the scene of the crime.

Olivia yelled at me to get back in the car, but I ignored her, the feeling of unease in the pit of my stomach pushing my body forward. I arrived out of breath at the scene and froze. It was as if someone had pushed the pause button on my life. Gosh, this was bad.

Stepping over pieces of broken wood and ignoring the broken medical equipment lying all around, I searched for casualties. As a doctor at Mighty Med, I knew that time was of the essence for any people alive. My friends needed me. I was touched as I watched strangers come to my aid and clearing a path.

That being said, the sight wasn't easy to fathom. As I looked at the prone bodies of The Key Keeper and Solar Flare, I felt nauseous. No doubt that the two of them were getting to know each other better at the party. Now, they never would have the chance to see if they liked each other. Worse than that was the death of Spotlight. Even though I didn't know him as well as I knew some of the other superheroes, I knew that he was too good of a person to have died so suddenly. I could only hope he helped save other heroes before he died.

"Hey, Ollie, you might want to see this," I heard.

Tearing my eyes away from Spotlight, I turned and saw my sister. She was biting down on her lips as she knelt next to a possibly dead body lying in a pool of blood. My heart froze at the sight as I recognized them.

Skylar's POV

The 400th Mighty Med Anniversary Party was in about two hours. As per my insistence, Kaz and I put the make-out session behind us and then we headed to Kaz's house to get ready. I knew that the reason we were going to Kaz's house was to examine one another's outfits. That, and hopefully lose ourselves in the process.

The thought of losing myself to Kaz faltered as soon as I saw the parents, or rather Kaz's mom seeing as how Kaz's dad was living by himself. Kaz insisted that his mom and dad were still married, yet I had a sneaking suspicion they were divorced.

Mrs. Allen beamed when she saw me. "Connie, it's lovely to see you!" she greeted. "Please, make yourself at home."

"I'd love to, but Kaz and I are going to a party in a couple of hours. I stopped by to get ready," I said.

"I wish I could stay, but I need to run errands for my son's big day," Mrs. Allen explained. "My son is graduating!"

I watched with a smile on my face as Kaz's mom pulled my boyfriend's cheeks. She pulled away at the last minute, slapped his cheeks, and left the two of us alone together.

Kaz grimaced as he turned to me. "Moms."

I didn't justify that with a comment, instead heading up to Kaz's bedroom. The sooner I finished getting dressed, the sooner Kaz and I might get all the way tonight, instead of only second base. Butterflies were dancing in my stomach as I made my way to Kaz's room. I had to change in a room other than Kaz's room because his bedroom stunk so badly that neighbors complained about the stink of his room. Through closed windows. From Mighty Med.

I braced myself for the smell as Kaz opened his door. As I suspected, his room smelled. I'm sure my home planet had already ordered Kaz's conviction. Luckily, he had his clothes in piles. Still, the room was way too messy, and as his girlfriend, I needed to figure out how to fix this.

"Kaz, why do you have three piles of clothes on the floor? The shirt is either clean or dirty," I pointed out.

"Well, yeah, but that's my I Don't Care pile for the clothes that are neither clean nor dirty," Kaz explained.

Again, I pointed out to him that the clothes were either clean or dirty, and again, Kaz told me it was his I Don't Care pile. Confused, I told him to explain.

"Basically, this is the pile I wore once and so it's clean, but I don't care to wear it again so I just put them on the floor. If they get washed, then so be it."

"You're disgusting, you know that?"

"Me? I'm disgusting? If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even be here," Kaz shouted.

I clenched my fists to restrain from punching my boyfriend. Sure, I loved Kaz, but he just made me so... urrghh! Feeling the need to defend myself, I snapped, "And what on earth is that supposed to mean?"

"If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't even be here. Instead, you'd be doing something with your B.E.F.F and being a sex slave."

How dare he? Is that all Kaz thought of me? Still...

"Oh, don't go spouting your B.S, Kazimeiras," I shouted. "Is that all I am to you? Am I really just a hookup kind of gal?"

"Oh, don't act surprised. Does he look like someone who baked the biscuits before? He's probably been a Virgin all his life!" Kaz's voice echoed throughout the room.

I'm sure the entire house was listening to us, but I didn't care just then. No, I had an argument to win. "Is that all I am to you? Am I really just your hookup kind of gal?" I repeated. Before Kaz could reply, I scoffed. "Forget it. I'll get my outfit and leave."

"Connie, please," Kaz said. He went to grab my hand, but I slapped his hand.

"Don't try to touch me!" I seethed. "I hate you right now."

"Well, I don't hate you right now. In fact, I love you."

With those three words, all the anger and negativity in my heart dissipated. My heart leaped for joy. "I love you too," I confessed.

Taking my hand in his, Kaz said, "I love you. Before you saved me from my depression, I was lost. I felt as if I was losing my only best friend in the world. I'm about to tell you a secret I haven't even told Horace. When you saw the hospital records that said I was in the hospital for two weeks already, that was a huge lie.

The truth of the matter is, I had only entered the hospital that afternoon. Olivia's friend hacked the hospital records and changed my date of entry. Why she did it, I think she did it to save my job, even though she had to have no idea what my job was. Anyway, I thought you should know."

I looked into his eyes and saw the raw emotion behind them. I stared at Kaz the entire time, all the while realizing that Kaz never told Oliver the truth about that night. Unable to control my desire anymore, I leaned forward and pressed my lips against his.

Everything about my relationship with Kaz was contradictory. We were two completely different people, one an alien girl and the other a Normo. Well, formal Normo. Before I whipped Kaz's grades into shape, he was a straight D and C student. Meanwhile, I managed all A's. He loved to keep his room messy; I loved to keep mine clean. He had eleven siblings; I had none. He sucked at anything athletic; I excelled at it.

Still, even now as I kissed him, I could feel the contradictions. His breath was so hot that I felt my insides melting. At the same time, I felt cold inside. Kaz was an eternal summer that never stayed warm long enough. The kiss was almost like a prelude for the passion that was to come. As we explored each other for the umpteenth time, I knew in my heart that I wasn't planning on leaving for the next hour or so.

Suddenly, Kaz broke off the kiss and glared at someone behind me. "Do you mind, Kevin? We're kind of busy," Kaz said.

I turned around and saw one of Kaz's older brothers smiling at us. Reaching into his wallet, Kevin pulled something out and handed them to my boyfriend. "Just making sure you two are safely protected. Now if you excuse me, I'll keep everyone out of your hair," Kevin promised. "Oh, and Kaz, looks like I don't need to give you a graduation gift. You're cashing in early I see."

My face flushed the color of Calderan lava as Kevin closed the door. My boyfriend looked the same as me.

Kaz chuckled when he saw what his older brother handed him. "Oh, Kevin."

I frowned as I recognized the objects. "Kaz, why does your brother keep condoms in his wallet?"

"It's a guy thing," Kaz assured as he put the condoms up on his bookshelf. "Now, where were we?"

XXXXXXXXX

I must have dozed off for a while because when I woke up, Kaz was right beside me in bed. Both of us were drenched in sweat, but we were on cloud nine, relieved to have completed another milestone in our relationship.

"Sky, I only ask this because it seemed as If you knew what to do, but what's your number?"

I knew what Kaz was inferring to, but chose not to answer just yet. I rolled over on my shoulder and faced Kaz. "Wouldn't you like to know?" I teased.

A ping from Kaz's cellphone alerted us to four missed calls and five text messages. "Wow. Everyone must be be congratulating us on our first," Kaz joked. "From Oliver, where are you? All caps. Each word is a text. He must really be mad. Second text, from Spark. 9-1. Huh? Do you know what that means, Sky?"

I shook my head. "Maybe she forgot something," I said. Deep down in the pit of my stomach, I had a very bad feeling, but I wasn't sure what it was.

"Last one is from Olivia. It's a picture." With my encouragement, Kaz opened the text message and we both froze. "Mighty Med is gone. Spark's text must have meant 9-1-1."

As I stared at the picture, I had to refrain from throwing up. It was not an easy picture to look at. Despite the receding sunset, soot and ash covered the entire sky. The smoke waved at the sky, almost as if the smoke was fending off an unknown attack. Half the walls were demolished and the giant M for Mighty Med, once tall and proud for superheroes and Normo's alike, was now an emblem of all that we had lost. I knew that once we arrived, we would be surrounded by people that we loved and cared about dead. I wasn't ready to see that.

"Olivia wants us to call her when we get this," Kaz said. Before I could say something, Kaz made the call.

Something inside my brain clicked. I could see invisible patterns lining up with each other. Based on the time the text was sent, Kaz and I were beginning to get intimate. Had we actually gone to the party on time, then maybe none of this would have happened and people we cared about would still be alive.

I had just enough time to put on a shirt and get to the toilet before I emptied my lunch. Kneeling down and putting my head in my hands, I shivered. This was all Kaz's and my fault. My friends were gone, and it was all because of our overwhelming emotions.

"Connie, are you okay?" Kaz asked a few minutes later, entering the bathroom in his tighty-whities.

"No. Are you?" I retorted as I lifted my head up off my hands.

"No, Babe, I'm not," Kaz said. "Let's let it out."

Helping me to my feet, Kaz wrapped his strong arms around me and we let go of our grief together.

"This is all my fault," I mumbled.

"Don't say that," Kaz said. "We had no idea that was going to happen."

"But we could have done something!" I argued. "If we hadn't gotten carried away, we would have been at that party and maybe then our friends wouldn't be gone."

"Babe, listen." Kaz paused. I waited. "We had no idea this was going to happen."

I opened my mouth to say something, but closed it. It was clear Kaz wasn't finished. Lately, Kaz had been saying all the right things. I knew what he was going to say would be important.

"Nothing in life is ever guaranteed. If we had gone to the party, we could have died as well. Am I upset? Absolutely! But we didn't go, and let's be honest: given all the attacks we get, it would have happened eventually. It pains me that we weren't there, but when I think about the alternative, I can live with the outcome. I wouldn't be able to move on with my life if you didn't make it. Heck, I probably would be more reckless than I already am."

I nodded. Kaz was really reckless right now.

"I would consider suicide."

My heart froze. I tried to say something, but nothing would come out. There was a block of ice caught in my throat.

"You are my guardian angel, Connie."

Once again, I tried to say something, but nothing would come out. I then expressed my emotions the only way I could think of. I kissed him.

Kaz must not have expected it because there was a slight delay in the kiss. Once, he kissed back, I realized how deep in love I was with Kaz. I feel embarrassed for saying this, but I get high from his kisses.

"Bedroom?" Kaz said.

I nodded. Kaz picked me up and carried me to the bedroom. We might have had time to start round two, but Katie yelled, "Mom's home!"

Kaz cursed his mother's timing and looked at me. "You're wearing my shirt."

I looked down and, sure enough, I had on Kaz's shirt. I said, "I hope you aren't too attached to this shirt because I'm keeping it."

"I actually do like it, but it looks good on you."

While Kaz put on his pants and a new shirt, I put on my clothes and tried to make sure Kaz and I looked like we hadn't just rolled out of bed. No sooner did I finish up did the door open.

Mrs. Allen stopped at the sight in front of her. "I didn't expect to see you back so soon. How was the party?"

"We didn't go," Kaz confessed. "My car wouldn't start."

Mrs. Allen smiled knowingly. "I see. Well, I'll check it out tomorrow. You lovebirds try to sleep in separate rooms tonight. Good night!"

Mrs. Allen closed the door behind us and Kaz looked at me. "She totally knows."

Olivia's POV

As I waited in the hospital for information about Catherine, I reached over and squeezed my brother's hand. "It's time to tell him, Ollie," I said.

Oliver merely nodded before he turned back to stare at the door his girlfriend was behind. Poor Oliver was falling apart in front of my own eyes. Ever since we arrived at the hospital, all my brother did was call and text Kaz. He would then stare at the door, almost as if he expected an answer. I sent Kaz my own message about twenty minutes ago, but he had yet to respond. I also rang up Guy and told him about his sister and what hospital we were at, as the hospital surrounding Mighty Med was decimated. He was on his way over right now.

Needing something to occupy myself, I stood up. "I'm going to the vending machines. Do you want anything?" I offered.

"Chips and maybe a drink. Oh, and some type of candy."

I nodded, told my brother I would be right back, and headed to the vending machines. On my way over, the automatic doors whooshed open and I nearly got hit.

"Sorry, I — oh. Hey, Olivia," Guy greeted.

"Hey, Guy. I'm going to the vending machines. Do you want anything?" I said.

"I dropped by Subway on the way over," Guy admitted, holding a Subway paper bag. "Any word on my sister?"

I shook my head. "Sorry, I haven't heard anything. I'm sure Oliver will appreciate the food. He's right over there." I pointed to the right and headed over to the vending machines.

Right before I could get my purse out and pay, I felt vibrating in my pants pocket and smiled when I saw the name. Stepping away and leaning against the wall, I answered, "You got my message I see."

"I did. So Mighty Med is really gone," Kaz said. "Did Spark make it?"

I paused as I put a name to a face. "No, sorry." Upon hearing someone retching in the bathroom, I asked, "Was the vomiting in the background you?"

There was a brief pause on the other end. "It's Connie. She dashed out of my room a minute ago."

"I guess she isn't feeling well. I was wondering if you were coming to the hospital, but I guess you're busy."

"I'm not busy. I was earlier, but not now. How's Oliver?"

"He's taking it pretty hard. We found Catherine unconscious near the entrance. She hit her head pretty hard. I haven't heard anything, but I'll text you the details," I promised.

"Oh, geez. Can you tell me who didn't make it?"

I paused. I took a shaky breath and closed my eyes. The smell of death cried out to me through my mind. Part of me didn't want to think about it and recall all the deaths, but I owed it to Kaz and Skylar to remember them.

"Liv? You still there," Kaz asked.

"Yeah, sorry. Um, those that died are Horace, Phillip, Spark, Andrew - the one who has the two evil parents -, some heroes I don't recognize, Spotlight, Solar Flare, and the Key Keeper."

"Oh, geez. Well, I should probably check on Connie. I'll see if we can stop by and—"

"No," I said. "You don't need to come. Take care of Connie. I'll talk to you later. Bye." I hung up and got in line for the vending machines. About five dollars later, I collected all the stuff and headed back, convinced that Oliver would still be there. To my surprise, Ollie wasn't. However, a partially eaten Subway sandwich was there.

While I organized the food, the doctor who was treating Catherine exited the door and turned to me, his weary smile indicative of his actions.

"Mrs. Franks, your brother's girlfriend is okay. The surgery was a success. We brought down most of the swelling in the brain and checked to make sure there were no injuries. There weren't. The only downside is she has yet to wake up. At the time, we are unsure as to why. My best hunch is that her body needs rest. However, we are keeping an eye on the situation to see if it gets better. She is in the ICU and is open to visitors at this time," Dr. Kendrick said.

I thanked the man and brought out my stash of hospital food. Before I could start some Starbursts, the package was ripped from my hand. I turned and saw my brother, much happier than before.

"I really needed to tell Guy. I feel so much better now," Oliver confessed. "Has the doctor said anything?"

"Just that the surgery was a success and she's open to visitors."

Oliver bolted for the receptionist's desk. He said something to the nurse there and then bolted off to the ICU. I couldn't help but laugh as the nurse called him out on running in the halls.

"Oliver, your sandwich!" I called. I sighed and examined the sandwich. It looked decent enough so I picked it up and took a bite of the sandwich.

With my brother's graduation, the destruction of our favorite superhero hospital, Catherine's injury, and Oliver and I moving to Centium City, life was far from ideal. However, the power of companionship between friends would defeat all the uncertainty life brought our ways. I would be fine. Oliver on the other hand, time would tell.

Oliver's POV

"How is she?"

Snapping out of my thoughts, I turned my attention away from my unconscious girlfriend to Guy. "She seems stable," I said.

"Thanks for telling me about the secret job. It means a lot," Guy admitted.

"No problem." I paused. "Mighty Med hospital will be avenged. Trust me on this."

Guy's eyes widened to the size of sausages. "But how?" He stammered. "We don't even know the people who destroyed Mighty Med."

Guy did have a point. I got out of my chair I was watching my girlfriend in and paced around the hospital in thought. Finally, I turned and gripped Guy by the shoulders. "We will find a way, and when I come face to face with the monsters that destroyed Mighty Med, the monsters that sent my girlfriend to the hospital, I will make them pay. They won't get away with it, not if I have anything to say about this."
