A/N: Who missed this story *a tumbleweed goes by an empty white void* Anyway enjoy I'm a bit rusty.
A/N 2: I'm using some anime and some game rules and I decided that Deila is not getting more Pokémon she is only keeping Pikachu.
Ash was just about to step in to Mt. Moon but set his backpack down first and quickly found his flashlight. When he turned it on he step into the cave system of the Mountain. All his light caught were Paras crawling in between the stalagmites. He moved on to the Zubats and the odd Golbat hanging from the stalactites .With the cave being particularly dark his flashlight did little to help him see so he decided to let Lucky out because she could see in the dark. In a flash of white light the Meowth appeared and stretched her body out. "Lucky I need you to help me get through the cave system OK?" Ash saw her nod in the light cave mouth. As quickly as possible they started to make their way in to the cave properly.
As he and his Meowth walked all he could see was what was in the flashlight beam and Lucky's swishing tail. And all he could hear were the soft fluttering of Zubat wings and scratching of the Paras crawling around and the dripping of water in the distance. He kept walking hoping to find an exit soon.
As Ash walked he turned down a corner and saw in the distance a small yellow flame. Without thinking about it he broke out in to a run with Lucky on his heels. He was trying to see if another human being was there. He was kind of scared of getting lost. He skidded to a stop when he saw a Charmander and a girl standing there in one of the tunnels. When he got a good look at her after the dust he had kicked up in his run settled, he realized it was Lisa. "Lisa wow I didn't think you'd be here."
She waved the dust out of her face. She smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her neck. "Yeah I took a wrong turn and have been lost for like two days. But Matchstick here has been really hopeful when my flashlight died." She patted the Charmander's head who growled in pleasure. Lisa smiled when she noticed the little Meowth with the cowlick. "Awww, your Meowth is adorable ." She crouched down and held out her hand for Lucky to smell it. Lucky looked toward Ash for approval at, his nod she leaned forward and sniffed Lisa's hand and mewed in approval. Lisa pressed her luck by scratching behind the Meowth's ear who purred in joy.
" What other Pokemon do you have if you don't mind me asking?" She stood back up, Ash cleared his throat as their Pokemon talked among themselves. "I don't mind at all, well you know my Bulbasaur and Meowth I also have a Rattata and a Metapod. What about you?" She started to count them on her fingers, My Charmander, a male Nidoran, an female Eevee, a female Pikachu and a male Beedrill who just evolved a little bit ago by fighting off Zubats." Ash nodded "sounds like a decent team so far." Lisa smiled, " yeah I just caught the ones I liked except for the Eevee who was a birthday present from my Grandma." Ash smiled, " that's really cool."
They decided to walk their way out of the mountain together. "Do you think we'll see a Clefairy," Lisa asked. Ash hummed and said "I don't know maybe." They continued walking as they went deeper, they saw a Geodude floating away from them and a Sandshrew dug halfway in a hole but no Clefairy.
In the bright glow of the Charmander's tail flame Lucky caught the faint sparkle of something in the distance. She ran ahead of the others stopping mere inches from the cave wall. She began clawing at the wall trying to get something out of it. When the other three made it to her they noticed the object was a perfectly round golden orb. Ash knelt down and helped her dig out the item, he dusted it off. "Cool I heard about these Golden Nuggets you can sale these for money. Thanks Lucky." He put it in his backpack. He then noticed more things that he had heard about were in the hole in the cave in the wall. There were two Moon Stones, a Dome Fossil, and a Helix Fossil. He held a Moon Stone to Lisa who gladly took it thanking him. "Which fossil do you want to have?" he asked. Lisa screwed up her face in thought, "hmmm the Helix Fossil if that's ok?" Ash said that it was ok. They both put their new items in their backpacks and continued down the tunnel.
After for what seemed forever going to the twisting in the mountain they finally saw the exit. They excitedly ran toward the bright sunshine. Once all four of them made it out Ash took a deep breath of fresh air. "Finally," they both exclaimed. "Thanks Matchstick take a little rest." She returned her Pokemon and Ash did the same with Lucky. They walked down the dirt trail for a while just enjoying the warm sunshine. After while Ash noticed the stream looked damaged by an electric attack he stopped and Lisa stopped as well to look. Ash wadded in to the muddy water he picked a torn bloody piece of black and red fabric tangled in the tall grass along the water's edge. "What happened here?" Lisa asked in shock. Ash dropped the fabric and noticed boot prints in the mud. "I...I think it was Team Rocket who attacked some kind of Pokemon."
Lisa noticed a swatch of little blue buried in the mud by Ash's feet. "Ash look there's something by your feet." He knelt down and after some tugging he got it unstuck. He wiped the mud off and noticed it was a Pokemon egg. "We can't leave it out here it'll die," Lisa said. Ash nodded and held it close to his chest, "you're right." carefully he got out of the water with Lisa helping by balancing his arm. "Come on, let's get going to Cerulean City." And they both began walking Ash couldn't wait to see what was around the corner for him.
