Unmei Force Solitary Legends: Azure Seas, Black Space
Chapter 4: The Unrelenting Attack
The group of four soon returned as they would soon walk in and see… an unwelcoming sight.
"...Oh boy…" Allison said, paling upon seeing the scanner, as Siege ran up to the scanner and paled as well.
"...Holy shit… all the worlds under attack…!" Siege said in horror. "This… this is madness…! The only explanation behind Demigra having the ability to do this all at once… Black must be masking his activities so the other Color Gods don't notice…"
"...He's really pulling out all of the stops, if this is how far he's going." Richard growled. "Fine then, if they want to push us to the brink, then we'll push back ten times harder. Mobilise everyone, we're going to make Demigra wish he didn't spread the majority of his army for this gambit."
"Even the ship-girls!?" Siege asked. "Richard, we don't have land riggings for our entire fleet!"
Richard was hesitant for a moment, as his expression scrunched up, before he then clutched his face. "...I loathe to say this, and I will regret this for the years to come, but push production of the land-riggings as quickly as possible. And get Erika and Nitori on full-time getting ship-girls here and there… I'll have the ship-girls as a desperate measure if we need immediate back-up." He seethed. "...I don't like this at all, but if I don't have everyone fighting back with full force, it will only end up being a costly loss for all of us. Damn Demigra for daring to this, and damn Black for letting all happen without any of the other heroes and even the Color Gods batting any eye to this, because of his interference."
"Perhaps they don't notice, but we do." A familiar voice said as Raiden, Kenshi, and Fujin walked through a portal and approached Richard and Siege. "And one of the Color Gods has figured it out. But she cannot do much if only she knows. That is why she has put us into action. The three of us can each cleanse about 4 worlds a piece with our sheer might. We'll let you all focus your attentions on the major worlds in trouble, which are worlds already under the coalition of yours, the two greatest threats are in the Yggdra Union universe, and the other is coming from Siege's second home world."
"And what's worse is that there is a matter concerning just you, Richard." Kenshi said with worry in his tone. "Demigra is even planning a Force to attack Gensokyo… and leading them is the Herrscher of the Void. The most powerful of the Herrschers… whose reality warping capabilities, as you know, are on par and even above Yukari in some elements. Right now, Yukari cannot afford to fight herself, while sustaining the quarantine of the reality glitch."
Richard was silent, before he then immediately pulled out a walkie-talkie with a direct line to Yukari, activating it.
"What is it, Richard? I've sensed threats heading for Gensokyo." Yukari's voice rang through the comms. "Are you here to discuss that problem?"
"It's a Herrscher, Yukari. The ones that Siege told us to keep an eye out for. I don't know how the Herrscher of the Void was able to make the cross-reality jump… But right now, Gensokyo is the last place that I want falling." Richard answered back. "Make me a sukima to get back to Gensokyo, NOW. I'm not letting the only place I can call home be ravaged by some energy-powered demoness. If you won't do it, then I'll force myself-"
"Richard-san!" Kiana yelled as she and Mei ran into view. "We heard the news, the Herrscher of Void, to your homeworld!"
"Take us with you!" Mei demanded. "Kiana has a plan, and if it works out the way she intends… then we may have yet another Herrscher on our side."
"...Richard, is that true?" Yukari asked back.
"The Herrscher of Flame was absorbed by two people in our faction." Richard answered back. "And considering that Kiana has a grasp on the Herrscher of Void… We can possibly take her power and put it into Kiana, as well as fixing the problem of her mentality deteriorating." Richard answered back. "Let me come back with them, we'll handle it."
"And we will handle things here." Raiden assured Richard. "Go! Go and save your homeworld!"
"Alright…" Yukari responded back. "I don't see much time before they make their attack. I have trust in Rachel and the other residents, but having you back will bolster the morale of your friends. I'll create a sukima to transport you. But that means that the next batch of residents will have to come now when you eventually return, or it will have to be delayed severely."
"...I can deal with that." Richard responded back, before he then turned to Siege, as Yukari's sukima appeared in front of them. "Siege, tell the Sakura Empire and Royal Navy girls that you're their acting commander. I'm sure that there should be no conflicts between the factions, with how smoothly things are. I trust you to use them well, including Amagi."
"Do not worry, Richard-san. We'll ensure that Demigra will not see his plans come to fruition." Amagi answered back. "Go, you have your own homeland to save."
"Thank you, Amagi." Richard answered back, before he disappeared through the sukima with Mei and Kiana.
Siege then turned to Raiden. "By the way, which Color God are you talking about?" He asked. "From what Yukari told me, and the one time that Richard told me Blue was one of them… They don't seem to make appearances much."
"Blue was the one who sent us here." Raiden said. "And despite her knowing Black's true intentions, she cannot do a thing unless the other Color Gods follow suit… I pray she can get them to listen… for now, we have worlds to save."
Meanwhile, back in Gensokyo, Demigra was smiling and watching from afar as the Herrscher of the Void was over Gensokyo, her massive army of Honkai beasts poised to attack it. However, Richard, Kiana, and Mei soon appeared, which Demigra chuckled at.
"Well, well, if it isn't the hometown hero! Come to attempt to save your precious homeland, hm?" Demigra laughed. "And leaving all those other worlds to rot! HAHAHAHAHA!"
"You made a huge mistake coming here, Demigra." Richard answered back, drawing his blades with a glare in his eyes. "I can look past you going for a massive offensive on all of the worlds in the other reality that I developed to be a coalition, I can look past you ruining things for me… But going for Gensokyo when Yukari's hands are full... ? That I will not look past. Demigra, in a ironic statement, you better start praying that you'll survive, because I'm going to spare no effort in wiping every single trace of your existence."
"Heh, you can try, but first, you need to get through her!" Demigra said, pointing to the Herrscher of the Void, who looked emotionlessly at Richard, Kiana, and Mei.
Richard then immediately activated Master Form, before a dark-red aura appeared around him, indicating that he was using his Limit Break ability. The Herrscher of the Void scoffed, as she soon entrapped Richard in a large amount of psychic bindings, as Richard tried to break free, to find that he was powerless, and was unable to break free from her bindings she had on him.
"Oh, you fucking-" Richard growled, before he then began to struggle strongly.
"There. Neutralized. You can watch as I obliterate your homeland, human." The Herrscher of the Void said, before Mei soon floated up to her level. "Hmp. And you, sister, coming to challenge me. You are but merely the Herrscher of Thunder. You cannot hope to hurt me."
"Maybe not." Mei said, powering up as she and Void clashed. "But I don't need to for what's about to happen to you."
For a long time, both ends watched the clash between Mei and the Herrscher of the Void. The citizens of Gensokyo watched, knowing that with Richard bound In his shackles, he was unable to do anything, and that Mei and Kiana were their only hope of stopping the Herrscher. Demigra watched with a sly smirk, waiting for what was thought to be the inevitable come. Finally, Mei landed harshly next to Kiana, as the Herrscher of the Void came down, smirking.
"Watch, former vessel. First, it will be her, then, it will be Gensokyo." The Herrscher of the Void said, as Kiana soon bursted into laughter, which made the Herrscher of Void raise a brow. "What is so funny, human!?"
"Oh you're just so funny! You know…" Kiana said, before she shot the Herrscher of Void 5 times, as she was caught off guard and hit, making her gasp, keeping her vulnerable for a while. "There is more than one way… to claim a Herrscher's power and keep their mentality, as I've learned." Kiana said, soon punching into the Herrscher of Void's chest, as her eyes were now fearful.
"No… No! You… how could…!" The Herrscher of Void asked, looking at Kiana as she ripped out the Herrscher's core, smirking all the while.
"And one of those ways… is by force." Kiana grinned, before crushing the core as she soon began absorbing the Herrscher of Void.
"No! NO NO NO NO!" The Herrscher of Void yelled as a brilliant light shone, as she was absorbed into Kiana. When the light faded, the new Herrscher of Void began ascending her ethereal steps, the Honkai bowing to her… but her eyes were blue, as Kiana was in control now.
(Cue - Befall - Honkai Impact 3rd Soundtrack)
"...NO!" Demigra yelled in disbelief, "This… this isn't…! AAAARGH! ATTACK, ATTACK!" Demigra yelled, summoning large draconic creatures, as his laughter returned as a nervous and crazed one. "You can't hope to use her powers the moment you gained them! GENSOKYO DIES TODAY!"
"You really think so?" Kiana said in the Herrscher's voice with a smirk as the draconic creatures opened fire similar to the giant mechs from Honkai Impact, as Kiana held a hand in front of her… before…
Snap
Everything went quiet, as the rapid shots from the demonic dragons were absorbed by multiple upon multiple voids, as they all disappeared, before Kiana outstretched her hand with the sly smile still present, before snapping again, as the sounds returned, and all of Demigra's army attacking Gensokyo, with two mere snaps of fingers, were obliterated.
"No…! No…! This… this isn't…!" Demigra managed to get out, before his eyes widened in fear as Kiana turned to Richard, then looked at Demigra.
"Oh? You're afraid of him now? He's such a nice guy when you get to know him… mostly!" Kiana said with a devious grin, as she prepared to undo Richard's bindings. "One chance. Flee, or I'll unleash him onto you."
"...This is far from over… FAR FROM OVER!" Demigra yelled in frustration, before he teleported away.
Kiana smiled, before she snapped her fingers, freeing Richard from his bindings, as Richard depowered himself, since there was no point in fighting, with the Honkai under Kiana's control, as the new Herrscher of the Void.
"Jeez, that was a risky move you did there, but it worked out fine." Richard stated, sighing in relief, before looking at the subservient Honkai. "I think we should get them out of here, they'll scare the hell out of the poor humans and youkai of this land."
"Oh, you didn't know?" Kiana would ask. "They could become the vanguards of Gensokyo to protect this place, since I can summon more and on top of that…" Kiana said, before looking at the many residents of Gensokyo, before nodding, and turning to the Honkai that were there. "You all, new objective, become the guardians of Gensokyo. Understood?" She asked, as all of them nodded. With a snap of her fingers, the Honkai began to change into looking more like the residents of Gensokyo, with some becoming mere humans, others becoming yokai, some masters of swords, others masters of magical powers. To tell them apart, at least one part of their appearance was the Honkai shade of purple and white. "There. They should fit in now."
"Hot damn… Didn't think that Honkai could turn into things like this." Richard chuckled. "You really never to cease to amaze me, Kiana."
Before Kiana could respond, both of them and Mei could heard the sound of loud and slow clapping, as they turned to their attention the source, which was Yuuka Kazami herself, who was amused at the turn of events.
"Well, I came here looking for a fight against someone who wanted to harm this dear land of ours, and instead, I bear witness to a young girl turning the odds against the invaders, and making a majority of them kneel under her rulership." Yuuka remarked with a wide grin on her face. "It's not everyday that you get to see someone using the same kind of power that Yukari has, to crush and obliterate their enemies."
"Yuuka?" Richard remarked, as he slowly floated down to the ground in front of her. "Did you…"
"Considering that this impertinent demon god decided to have his fight near the Human Village, I was fairly close to the scene." Yuuka chuckled with a whimsical smile. "Yukari told me that if things get out of hand, I'll help to pan out the odds for you all. But it seems that I'm not needed. Goes to prove how much you have been growing. And not a single piece of the land was torn by the fighting."
"Yeah, eheheh…" Richard chuckled back, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "To be fair, I was going to pay a visit to you, and even give you something for your sunflower garden. But I guess that you're here now."
Yuuka then walked over to Kiana. "Now then, who might you be?" She asked her. "I would like to know the name of the one who has shifted the balance of this chaotic land in such an interesting way."
"Kiana Kaslana." Kiana said with a respectful bow. "It is an honor to meet you, Ms… Yuuka, was it?"
"Oh, you can just call me Yuuka, or Yuuka Kazami if you prefer to be formal. My title here is the Flower Master of the Four Seasons." Yuuka introduced herself. "Honestly, if I could be blunt, I think that you'd make a very strong resident, one enough to keep me on my toes, and still be a friend I will have. Very few have that privilege, since I am quite powerful you know, and anyone who is strong enough to impress me… tend to be my enemies, and will have to be taken care of. But you seem to have no interest in harming Gensokyo, so I think we'll get along well."
"I agree. Allow me to introduce you to my dearest friend, Mei Raiden." Kiana said, gesturing to Mei as she had recovered from the earlier fight, as she bowed before Yuuka.
"It is an honor to meet you, Yuuka." Mei said with a smile.
"My, my, aren't you polite." Yuuka remarked again with a fairly whimsical tone. "Anyways, I suppose that my part here is done, although it never started to begin with. Yukari also told the people who are coming with you, to gather here, so wait a while before you go."
"I see. Thanks for the info, Yuuka. And see you when Gensokyo is restored again." Richard answered back, before he then threw something at Yuuka, as she caught it. "This is a special solution that a certain demon that I know, made for you. It'll help make the soil extremely fertile, as well as giving your sunflowers a brilliant shine."
"Hoh, that so?" Yuuka remarked, before she then nodded with a smile, as she turned to leave. "I much appreciate your gift. Anyways, I hope one day you'll return, Kiana and Mei. You both will find this place to be quite interesting, when you spend some time in it."
"We'll definitely come back. Thank you for your offer!" Kiana said with a smile. "Oh, and maybe we'll bring someone else too! She loves flowers and I bet she'll help you with your garden!"
Yuuka grinned before she then left the area, just in time for a new set of footsteps to be heard, as the group turned around to see the newcomers, or in Richard's case, feel a set of hands cover his eyes.
"Guess who~" A familiar voice rang in his ears, as it was one that filled him with longing and blissful love.
"You know you can't fool me, my princess." Richard laughed heartily. "I've become so accustomed to your voice that I can recognise it in any tone you try."
"Argh, you're no fun to tease like this." The voice groaned, before the hands slipped off, as Richard came face-to-face with a smiling Kaguya, who seemed to be fairly glad to see Richard again. "Welcome back, you big dummy."
"Welcome back indeed." Richard answered back, before he then knelt before Kaguya in a gesture of respect, as Kaguya was surprised. "Been a while, but I'm back for you, Kaguya. And this time, I'm sure that you'll be fine spending the rest of this journey with me."
"You always were that kind of person. Come on, get up, you're making me look bad in front of your new friends." Kaguya lightly chuckled, as Richard did so with the smirk still on his face, as she looked at Kiana and Mei "By the way, you're…"
"Kiana Kaslana, I guess kinda heralded as the recent savior to this place from Demigra's assault." Kiana giggled with a smile. "My girlfriend here is Mei Raiden, and together, we're unstoppable!"
"Oh Kiana…" Mei said with a slight blush and a giggle.
"Oh my gods, pinch me, because I think I must be dreaming to see the real Kiana and Mei in the flesh-" Kaguya swooned, before Richard inched forwards and did that for her, lightly doing so. "Ow!"
"Just doing what you asked. It's as real as you can see." Richard answered back with a mischievous grin on his face. "And I bet that your heart is fluttering with how close they are to each other?"
"Eh… Ehehehe…" Kaguya blushed a little, as she realised that she wasn't being formal with this, calming herself down. "Anyway, awkwards introductions aside, I should tell you who I am. I'm Kaguya Houraisen, former princess of the Lunarians, owner of the humble Eientei of the Bamboo Forest of the Lost. And if it isn't obvious enough… I'm Richard's own girl-friend. 15 years in the making."
"15 years… wow. That's quite the admirable amount of time for a relationship. You haven't had any competition either?" Kiana asked, rather curious on the subject.
"Nope." Kaguya answered back casually, popping the 'p' from her mouth, stretching her arms. "I have high standards for a good boyfriend in these parts, and Richard just happened to be the first person to fulfill them. You ever heard the tale about the Impossible Requests, right?"
"I haven't, actually." Kiana said, now even more curious.
"Well, it's basically the idea that I give my suitors impossible requests, that's what the tale says on the tin. I met honest guys who admitted that giving up is the best option, and then there's the ratty ones who thought they could fool me. People figured the reason that I made them impossible in particular, because I wanted to see how far someone would go for me, and that was right." Kaguya answered back, entering a lengthy explanation. "Richard was actually the only person that I forgone those requests for, simply because he didn't straight up ask for my love. He started being a standard acquaintance, then becoming a close friend, and eventually, before I realised it, we were in love with each other. I did have a thought about giving him the Impossible Requests if he wanted to move to second base… But I chucked that away, too cruel for someone who spent so long with me, and cared for me on every step of the way. We're still waiting for the day where our relationship is ripe enough to declare marriage to each other."
"Yeah, I know the feeling… Mei and I have known each other for about 10 years now, and our relationship has lasted for about 7 years." Kiana said. "So there's still some maturing that needs to be done before we can tie our knot."
"Hah, now that's a good relationship. Hate it when the trope of having speed-runs for marriage. Ain't realistic." Kaguya quipped. "Anyways, enough about me, you'll learn a lot more naturally. Just know that I'm a princess that will have everyone's back."
Soon, the rest of the residents arrived, as it was Remilia and Patchouli together, as the shut-in magician had a large slab of earth hovering over Remilia, to act as a spot of shade for Remilia, who would be stung by the sunlight, and Suika, who was still drunk as always, chugging from her gourd with a drunk blush evident on her cheeks.
"It's nice to meet you again. I've almost missed the taste of your fresh blood." Remilia remarked with a charming smile on her lips. "But I suppose that the wait is over, since I'm going with you back to that other reality, is it? Patchouli is also coming with me, since she's got a lot of fledgling magicians to teach in that little base of yours."
"Ah, Remilia… Patchy." Richard addressed the Scarlet Devil Mansion resident duo, referring to Patchouli with a fairly cute nickname, as Patchouli gave a faint smile back. "I suppose that Flandre will be fine when you're all gone."
"You underestimate Sakuya, Richard. She's more than capable of keeping the mansion in proper state, and making sure my sister gets the usual time to socialise with the rest of this land." Remilia remarked back. "Although I await the day that the rest of us will come with you, I guess the two fo us will suffice for now. Now then, I suppose that I should make myself known to your new friends?"
"Hello there! I'm Kiana Kaslana. I guess you can call me a technical savior of Gensokyo, considering what I did." Kiana said with a smile and giggle. "My girlfriend here is Mei Raiden."
"It is an honor to meet the both of you." Mei said, bowing before Patchouli and Remilia.
"So you have saved Gensokyo yourself? Then I suppose congratulations are in order." Remilia smiled back. "My name is Remilia Scarlet, The Eternal Young Scarlet Moon, vampire noble hailing from old times, and the mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. My faithful companion, Patchouli Knowledge, the Great Unmoving Library, is one of my dear residents, who spends her time studying magic as an topic of research. She is also one of the most powerful elementalists, exceeding Richard himself, she is the one who taught Richard the elemental magic he uses to this day."
Patchouli looked at Kiana and Mei, before she then raised a hand slowly to acknowledge them. "Like my mistress has told you, I'm a magician with the power of the elements." She answered back. "I will likely not interact with you much, considering my nature of living within a library itself. However, if you come to visit… Do please take care of my new residence."
"Don't worry, Patchy, it's mostly large enough, and familiar enough of the Voile, that you'll feel nothing much has changed." Richard assured Patchouli.
"And uhm… who may that be?" Kiana asked, pointing towards Suika.
"Oh, that's good old Suika. Don't mind her small stature, she's much more powerful than she looks. In fact, she's one of the onis' Four Devas, a rank that is the highest in Oni hierarchy, and one that is earned through great effort and respect." Richard responded back. "She's a heavy drinker, but she's mostly sober in this state. But if she actually turned sober, then that means that she's serious about something. Trust me, a sober Suika means something dire has happened, and she knows it. Otherwise, she's a party animal, and thus, you'll get along well with her, so long as you don't go out of the way to push her buttons."
"I know she and Himeko-San would make a great pair…" Kiana whispered to Mei, as the two girls giggled slightly.
"Bwahaha, how could I get angry at these young women?" Suika laughed heartily, before taking another swig of her gourd. "Don't worry, Richard ain't a liar, I know how to keep my strength to certain levels, so as not to cause accidents. Besides, you look fairly cute, so how could I get angry at either of you. Just don't expect the nights to be quiet, because I'm the girl that likes to party all night! In fact, if you want an invite to our private feasts, you have the word of a Deva, and nobody is going against that. So enjoy your free passes to a feast of pleasure and drink!"
"If it is alright with you, Suika-san, can we extend this invite to someone else?" Kiana would ask. "Mei and I aren't really drinkers, but we know someone who is a very knowledgeable woman when it comes to drinking, especially with wine. Her name is Murata Himeko, but everyone calls her Himeko, and I'm sure she would enjoy coming to your parties!"
"So you got a friend that loves to party like a oni, eh? Bwahahaha!" Suika laughed uproariously. "Now that's something I like to hear about! Your friend is totally getting her invite! She might fit so well we might make her an honorary member of our feasts! Come on, Richard, I bet Reimu's going to drop her coins when she realises that I followed her here."
"As you wish. Yukari, make the portal back. I need to check on the others." Richard answered back, before talking with Yukari.
"Alright, it'll be done. Thanks to your friend, a threat has been neutralised, and you got a powerful ally on your side. Truly the best case scenario for all of this." Yukari answered back, before her sukima appeared in front of the group. "If you ever meet the Color Gods, tell them that I'm making sure the contact between us is still held."
"Will do." Richard answered back, before the group were prepared to leave. "Now then, let's go meet up with the rest of our-"
"WAIT-!" Another familiar voice cried out, as it was Rachel herself, as she had a massive bag on her back, three times the size of her entire body. "Take me with you, Richard! I just waited for this opportunity to come!"
"Rachel!?" Richard exclaimed with surprise. "What in the hell are you doing here!? Why have you suddenly come here with us!?"
"I'm sorry that I didn't tell you this earlier, but I decided that I've had enough time being alone in here. I want to go along with you, so that I can meet Allison again face-to-face, and do things together again." Rachel answered back. "Besides, I really want to meet your new friends, and fight alongside new heroes, even save some worlds myself!"
"But what about your duties as protectorate of Gensokyo? You need to keep the order-" Richard argued.
"I know, it was the strangest thing! Just a moment ago, I met some person with purple eyes, that told me that they'll be taking over my role! They told me that they'll protect Gensokyo in my place, and I saw her brethren getting along so well with the village people! I even saw them beat the local trouble-makers to a pulp without lifting a finger!" Rachel explained in a hurry. "I knew that this was a now or never chance, and I'm sure Yukari wouldn't be angry about abandoning my duties, if she knows that there's a group of people who will do the job far better than me. So please, let me come with you, Richard!"
Richard then turned to Kiana with a dead-pan look in his eyes. "...You figured this out somehow, didn't you?" Richard asked dryly.
Kiana soon looked at Rachel and winked, giving her the signal that she had this all planned. "Mm, I have my ways~" Kiana answered Richard while still smiling towards Rachel.
"Haaahh… I should have expected this, when Siege told me that Allison was missing Rachel a little." Richard sighed deeply. "Guess I have no reason to refuse. Come on, my silly counterpart. We'll get you settled in soon enough."
"YES!" Rachel screamed with joy, leaping into the air, as she dashed through the sukima, as Richard and the other Gensokyian residents followed her, leaving Kiana and Mei alone outside the sukima.
"...Kiana how did you figure this out?" Mei asked, as Kiana giggled.
"Oh, Allison told me everything about Rachel when she and I talked over a week ago. How she missed her, wanted to see her again, the whole life story of her encounters with Rachel. So, I figured if some day, I got my Void powers from the Herrscher, which now I do, she and Rachel can finally get back together! Wonderful, isn't it?" Kiana said with a smile which made Mei roll her eyes, chuckle, and kiss Kiana on the cheek.
"You selfless Valkyrie you…" Mei giggled as she and Kiana soon walked through the sukima back to the GFS Ryujin.
