Chapter five: Legacy of a First Sergeant
Gakuku is a talented Keronian. Graduated high school when he was 16 and went straight into military training. Gakuku was impressive on the battlefield, making new weapons for the military to use. He made sniper rifles, machine guns, and better shotguns for the army to use. Gakuku was just a Sergeant when he was assigned his own platoon. His platoon was to guard Keron of other invaders. They proved themselves over and over again. After facing off many foes trying to invade his planet. Gakuku started inventing a power drug, to attempt and make the Keron Army stronger. After his platoon survived the test. The army gave it to a select few claiming it was a vaccine. Gakuku didn't stop there, he got promoted again to First Sergeant. He came with a proposal to the higher ups. How he could improve the Keron Army through Keronian Genetics. Gakuku promised he could make them stronger, faster, and smarter. Gakuku was approved to continue his research. The higher ups even gave him some soldiers to test on. Gakuku even volunteered his own platoon. Everyone but his wife. Who supported him in all this. Despite his platoon's protest, they were forced into the program.
Gakuku's experiment was survival of the fitness. He believed the ones who couldn't adapt and change, were only going to be Keron's downfall. Only 15% percent of the ones submitted to the program made it out alive. The only survivor of Gakuku's platoon was Chokiki. Chokiki didn't want to go outside looking how did, so he stayed in the lab.
When Gakuku became a father of two, his wife and him when they first had their first born. Gakuku had other plans for his sons, plans that his wife didn't agree with. Gakuku looked like a promising father. It was said that Gakuku did an experiment on himself that drove him insane slowly inside. Once his wife died his demands became a little more concerning. But the higher ups saw progress in his work. Gakuku was given permission to test on tadpoles. His work was hidden from mostly everyone in the army. Gakuku was given free range on his testing.
The legacy of this First Sergeant was going to change Keron for the better. Or...what's what he thought.
