CHAPTER 5: ON THE MOVE

Sparkyville, USA; A few days later

Woodstock was in a nest near the Van Pelt house relaxing. He missed Snoopy, but knew he'd soon send word for him to come to Kansas City where he was. And he patiently waited for him to get word back to him. At that moment, Linus came out of the house and walked to the mailbox. He checked the mail to see what came. He walked back in the house. Lucy was sitting in the beanbag watching TV. Linus walked up to her.

"Your new comic book just arrived," he announced.

"Hand it to me," Lucy said, not even turning around as she continued to watch her program. Linus handed her the comic. "Anything else come?"

"A letter from Snoopy!"

"Why would that stupid beagle write here?!"

"It's actually for Woodstock. Maybe this Snoopy finally sending for him."

"Whatever. After giving the bird the letter, can you make me a sandwich?" Linus didn't answer. He went outside to give Woodstock the letter. He was in his nest when Linus walked up.

"Hey, Woodstock," he began, "Snoopy just sent you this."

Woodstock leapt up and grabbed the letter. He knew he would be reunited with Snoopy sooner or later. Inside was directions to the new home in Kansas City. He started to get ready for his long trip to Kansas City, as he wouldn't get there in a day. Maybe a week tops, but not a day. Linus went back inside to tend to Lucy's needs lest he got pounded in the head.
