Okay so this is the next chapter

"Hello, sweetheart. Are you lost?"

For a moment Julia looked at the handsome stranger in front of her, she just stared at him, he was new to town, there was no doubt that she would never forget such a handsome face, she stood there gawking before the stranger said with a smirk,

" I know I am hot, but take a picture it will last longer". Embarrassed Julia blushed, and got up and dusted the nonexistent dirt off her clothes, while her mind furiously worked to make a response, hopefully, something that Elena will say or at least something that will not make her look like a complete idiot.

" So are you?" the stranger asked again, looking at her mirth and amusement clear in every line of his face.

" Am I what?" Julia asked dazed as she again had made the mistake of looking at his face and was staring at him, when he chuckled she blushed and looked down

" Oh, no, no, no. Now, don't be embarrassed I have known to have that effect on women"

" No, I am not lost, I am visiting." Thank God she finally remembered what he was asking.

" Visiting, oh well I am sorry for your loss, I can, after all, understand the pain of losing family or friends," he said looking sympathetic.

" Umm so what are you doing here.?" I asked, twirling a strand of hair around my finger.

" Just looking for food, you know something to drink I was hungry."

" In a cemetery ?" I questioned

" Will you believe me if I said Yes?" He said.

I tried to do copy one of Elena's beautiful laughs but all I could take out was a little giggle. He was coming alarmingly close before I decided to introduce myself,

" Hi, I am Julia Isobell Gilbert." He stopped short,

" Gilbert ?"

" Yeah, and you are?"

" Well, Elena never mentioned having such a beautiful sister," he said instead, completely ignoring my question, I noticed that he had walked a little distance away from me,

" You know Elena," I asked in surprise,

" Just met her, How rude of me, I have not introduced myself. I am Damon Salvatore, Stefan's elder brother," he said extending his hand, I shook it.

" Bye, I have to go." And with that, he disappeared, leaving me with my thoughts and feelings all mixed up disappointment towards myself and hate towards my sister, because she was the reason I had lost another guy. Little did Julia know that it was because of Elena that Damon had shown mercy and she was still breathing.

Julia continued looking there for a few minutes, before turning around and crashing into another chest although this time strong arms prevented her from falling and she looked up to meet a pair of very familiar brown eyes, the eyes of Justin Young and it turned out that she never really got to talk to her mother as she was previously occupied.

Julia entered her home much more thrilled than before, to see Elena and Jenna setting the table, they were going to eat Tacos today, Elena like usual was helping Jenna with the guardian duties as she had made it her mission to do after our parent's death,

"He's on the rebound and has raging family issues," Elena was saying.

"Well, at least it's an ex-girlfriend. Wait till you date a guy with mommy issues or cheating issues. Or amphetamine issues," Jenna told her.

" So what's the topic for conversation," I asked.

" Stefan" Jenna replied.

" Oh, so he is on the rebound, huh?" I replied, relishing seeing Elena for the first time in her life having boy problems when I just got asked for a date.

" Apparently" Elena replied.

" Well, let's not talk about such things, Guess what Justin Young asked me on a date for the founder's party."

" THe founder's party? " Jenna questioned," But it's a long time from now. Well good for you."

" And we are gonna hang together for the Night of the Comet," I said smiling.

" Good for you," Elena said

We were about to talk more when Jeremy barged into the house. He had his hood up and didn't look particularly thrilled to have our attention on him.

From the look on Aunt Jenna's face, I couldn't blame him.

He immediately headed towards the stairs, obviously intending to escape to his room.

"Jeremy!" Aunt Jenna shouted, striding towards the staircase. "Where were you?"

"More stoner stories?" Jeremy replied instead. I was surprised he answered her. He had mostly ignored both me and Jenna since the accident, I mean Jenna mostly I don't even remember the time when both of us even talked, however, I was also super intrigued by what he meant about that. I'll have to get it out of Jenna at some point. since she looked like she understood what he was saying.

"Look, Jenna, I get it. you were cool once. And so that's… that's cool."

I didn't have to see Jenna's face to know that she was frustrated and disappointed, her tone gave her away immediately.

"Oh no, no, no!"

And then she threw her apple at him. I'm not even joking. She legit threw up an apple at Jeremy. I'm not sure where it hit him, but a pained exclamation of surprise indicated that it was a strong throw from our aunt.

"Ow! Why? Why would you do that?"

"Listen up," Aunt Jenna snapped, pointing a finger at him. "Quit ditching class or you're grounded. No discussion."

So her talk with Mr. Tanner didn't go well at all.

But apparently, Jeremy wasn't at all fazed, "Parental authority, I like it. Sleep Tight."

I heard him walk up the rest of the stairs. Jenna looked back at us, amazed annoyance clear on her face.

" Don't worry, I will make sure he eats his dinner," Elena said as she started arranging his plate, looking more concerned than annoyed.

Elena looked around her and all she saw was happiness.

Kids were getting their faces painted, adults were laughing amongst themselves, teenagers were starting their party early. There was so much excitement in the air over a comet or over the comet. Most people were just enjoying the excuse to party and have fun.

And in the middle of it all was the beautiful Caroline Forbes.

She was watching over her hard work with pride, ready to swoop in where needed. Elena was happy for her. She had done an amazing job. It was just a shame that she wasn't in the mood to properly enjoy it. She and Caroline were best friends and even Tyler and Caroline to some extent got along, Care knew all of Elena's secrets and she was her sister in all but blood.

Elena's eyes lingered to where her blood sister and friend, boyfriend, date Justin Young were talking and chatting. It has been a long time since she has seen Julia enjoying herself, and she just hoped that this one lasted longer than the previous two. My sister does have a particular type, Elena mused, she always seems to like boys who had a tan and played in the school team.

Elena turned her attention back to Bonnie who had just finished ranting on how Jules had ditched her for a guy, Elena offered her sympathies and also defended her sister at the same time, when Bonnie decided to discuss Elena's love life.

"He didn't call, huh?" she asked her, her tone sympathetic.

The start of a new relationship was always hard. She had seen it enough with her friends, for the only guy she had ever dated was Matt and both of them already knew a lot of things about each other. You had all those stages such as exchanging numbers, first kiss, first date, and so on.

"Or text," she added, shaking her head. "But then I realized that we never even exchanged that stuff. We've never even gotten to the texting part."

"That is an important milestone in any relationship," Bonnie pointed out, although rather reluctantly.

"Isn't it?" Elena replied with a sigh as she handed more pamphlets

"The timing is wrong anyway," she said after some time.

"When is it ever right?" Bonnie immediately countered, going down the logic route.

"I'm not ready," Elena said out loud, but in heart, she knew that it was not a good reason. No one is ever ready for these things. But if they are meant to be, then they will happen anyway. Destiny waits for no one.

"Who is?" Bonnie pointed it out again, realizing that a gentle approach was needed in this situation. In order to make Elena understand anything the worst thing you can do is shout at her or lose her temper, it will either make her very defensive or very sorry, a soft approach was best. And this is what Bonnie was doing.

Elena attempted one last time to defend herself, "At least I put myself out there."

Bonnie raised an eyebrow and simply replied," Is that what you're calling it?"

Elena frowned and looked down at her remaining flyers. She bit her lip before asking, "What do you mean?"

" All I am hearing are reasons why you can't."

And the conversation ended there.

Julia smiled at Justin as he lit her candle and gave her one of his goofy grins. They both held hands as they looked at the comet and from the corner of her eyes she could see Elena talking to Stefan, Matt and Bonnie were with Tyler and Caroline and they were joking about something from the way they were all laughing while simultaneously giving her sister and Stefan cautious looks and giving her and Justin raised eyebrows and grins. Matt was looking at them jealously, Tyler looked protective since Elena looked quite emotional, Caroline was making puppy eyes at the pair while Bonnie looked encouraging. As soon as Stefan and Elena parted, Tyler went over to his best friend who took his arm, and even from here, Julia could make out the look of relief she was giving him, as they both moved towards the grill along with the rest of the group. Justin must have seen her paying attention to the group of people she spends her time with, for he quickly excused himself saying that he will catch up with her tomorrow as she followed her friends.

Meanwhile, in another restroom at the grill, the girl who had recently been attacked, Vicki Donavan screamed as she saw an inhuman creature advance towards her, while her concerned brother searched for her outside. Julia rushed to meet Jeremy when she found him walking towards the grill.

"Jeremy, Jeremy wait," she screamed. He paused,
''Where are the others, Jeremy"

"Who"

"Elena, my friends."

" I don't know. Listen have you seen Vicki?"

"No. Why?"

" I can't find her. "

" Okay," she said. Jeremy gave her an annoyed expression,
"Listen, " he said," You need to take it easy on Elena, okay, for the past four months you have been blaming her for our parent's death, give her a break okay, it was not her mistake, "

"Since when you are so concerned about her?" I asked.

" She's my sister okay, I know I have been giving her a hard time but I will look out for her."
"Well don't expect me to do the same, you both are not by siblings."

" Just like you are not my sister," he replied shortly. And I was surprised by how I didn't felt hurt, like not even a little.

And with that, they rushed to the grill, both for different purposes,

" Hey has anyone seen Vicki?" Jeremy asked as soon as he was within earshot.

" You tell us" Tyler replied.

" I can't find her."

" She probably found somebody else to party with," I said.

"Sorry pill pusher, guess you have been replaced," Tyler added

"What's a pill pusher?" Elena questioned

" Ask him," Tyler replied, looking amused.

"You wanna do this right now?" Jeremy glared at Tyler and me, looking annoyed.

" Are you dealing?" Elena said, an appalled look on her face

" She's never gonna go for you," Tyler said, looking Sympathetic

" She already did. Over and over and over again."

"Yeah, right," Tyler said looking skeptical now, while Matt looked both annoyed and uncomfortable.

"Wait, You slept with Vicki Donovan," Caroline asked surprised. " I mean Vicki Donavan slept with you."

" No way," Tyler commented.

" I didn't even have to force her into it," Jeremy said, Elena, lowered her gaze while Tyler looked furious.

" Wait what ?" I asked

" What the hell is he talking about, Ty," Matt asked, enraged.

" Nothing man just ignores him, he's a punk," Tyler said without looking at Matt and keeping his gaze locked on Jeremy.

" How about we stop this, and help to look for Vicki." Elena the ever voice of reason said.

" We will check the back,'' Bonnie said

" I will check the square," Matt said

" I will come with you," Jeremy said as he made to follow Matt, she saw Elena grab Jeremy's arm but she didn't saw or heard anything more as she made her way to hopefully talk to Justin before he left. She knew Vicki Donvan and Vicki probably had just drunk too much and knocked herself out.

The drive home was quiet. Stefan had found Vicki wandering around the square and had safely returned her to Matt. I had been right. She had ripped her bandages and knocked herself out. How does Matt even deal with her? Usually, when Elena and I were in the car, she would be talking non-stop hoping to elect a response from me. But this time she was strangely quiet, " What's the matter?" I asked.

Elena's eyes brightened a little as she smiled at me, no doubt happy that I have made an effort to talk to her and I hated the oncoming wave of guilt that crashed through me whenever I realized how much I had hurt her.

" I am just frustrated with the life you know, Jeremy is on drugs and he is wasting his life every day on them, Tyler has crossed limits I never thought he would, Ty and Jer are fighting all the time, Matt hates me, the animal attacks are just not stopping, our parents are dead, Caroline is having problems at home, Stefan is on a rebound, Bonnie is experiencing things she has no idea of and I know she is freaked out, Jenna is having horrible insecurity issues, You are still working on yourself and I am always having a feeling that there is a set of eyes on me wherever I go. So everything is hell to sum it up."

I stayed quiet for a moment, before saying," I am working on myself maybe you should take the time to work on yourself too." As I parked the car at our home

We both heard the sound of someone rummaging around in Jeremy's room as Elena called out

"Jer?" as she reached the top of the stairs.

"Nope, it's me" Aunt Jenna quickly poked her head around the doorway before returning to her rummaging. "The hypocrite patrol."

" What are you doing here?" I asked," Did you search my room too? What's wrong with you."

I looked at Jenna to realize that something was clearly bothering her. Maybe her chat with Mr. Tanner went even worse than I thought. She was clearly unhappy with Jeremy when she threw an apple at him. But this was something else.

"What are you doing?" Elena asked, joining me in the doorway.

Aunt Jenna closed the drawer she had been looking through and looked around the room. She tugged at the end of her messy ponytail and strode over to the pile of shoes and jackets under the window.

"I've become my own worst nightmare," she replied, swopping down to push aside the jackets. "The authority figure who has to violate a 15-year-old's privacy." It didn't take her long to pull some pretty damn incriminating evidence from one of the boots. Not very sketchy with his hiding places, Jeremy was too obvious.

"Jackpot," Aunt Jenna exclaimed, shaking the dong and giving the boot a disappointed look. "I see the hiding places haven't gotten any more creative."

Elena walked past me and sat down on the beanbag chair by the pile of boots. Jenna passed her the bong before making a start of another chest of drawers.

"What brought this on?" my sister asked, having a look at the bong. I sat down on the bed and crossed my leg.

"Your ass-hat of a history teacher shamed me good yesterday," Jenna sighed, concentrating on her search.

I winced but was really not that surprised

"Ah, you got Tannered," Elena said, reached forward, and patted her on the back in sympathy. " Been there, done that."

"'Discover the impossible, Miss Sommers'" she repeated in a mocking voice, pulling out more of Jeremy's stash. "Got it, thanks." I had never heard Jenna sound so bitter, it was exactly how I sounded when I compared myself to Elena. "Like I didn't know that I was screwing up."

Ellie and I exchanged looks before she said, "You're not screwing up, Aunt Jenna."

"Yes I am," she disagreed firmly, looking near tears as she threw the packet in her hand to Elena and slumping down on the bed. "And you know why? Because I'm not her."

Again her voice was thick with unshed tears. So she was having insecurity issues, no I am gonna let Elena deal with that. She had a way with words. I couldn't help myself, how could I help anyone else.

"She made everything look so easy. You know, high school, marriage, having you two. I can't do it. I'm gonna say or do the wrong thing and he's gonna get worse. And it's gonna be my fault." She sighed, sound so defeated. "It's impossible."

"This is just the fear talking," Elena told her, leaning forward and taking her hand. "You're a little scared, that's all. We all are."

Elena looked like she suddenly realized something and I squinted my eye as she bit her lip, a clear sign that she was feeling conflicted.

" I have to do something. But are you gonna be okay."

Jenna smiled and nodded as Elena left.

" So want to drink," I asked and Jenna chuckled.

" I am glad you are happy Julia," she said quietly as she retired to her room, and I sighed as I changed into my nightclothes but slept with a smile when I saw Justin's latest text

'Miss you xoxo'
