It was midnight when James heard noises coming from the bathroom, he slowly picked up his wand from under his pillow and walked into the dim light of the hallway.

"Lily?..is that you?"

"Don't come in...don't come in James."

"Merlin! You scared me, I thought someone had come in."

"No... I'm just sick."

"Sick? Sick how? Do you want a potion? "

"NO! I can't...it's okay just...it'll pass."

Lily knew that this was not a "stomach flu", it was a pregnancy. She had already cast out several spells and they had all come back positive. Even her sister Petunia had made her urinate in a muggle test, which had also come out positive and all of the above plus the absence of her period she knew what it meant. Petunia was happy and sad at the same time ( she really hated Potter so arrogant, horrendous ) , her sister was going to have a baby but at the same time she was worried, she knew the current situation of the magical world and it was definitely not looking good. Petunia had mentioned to her that she didn't like James Potter at all, the boy looked selfish too much for her taste.

Lily sat on the toilet and pointed to her growing abdomen which was already a bit obvious (she didn't even know how James didn't notice) and said "signum vitae revelare" ...just one more time, to verify the event. A warm blue light came from the tip of her wand revealing not only the fact that she was pregnant, but that it was going to be a boy, such a miracle she was carrying inside her. Lily wept with joy. It was the real love child between her and Severus. Although she had tried to overcome all the events of that night and after an explanation from James, she understood, but she could not get over it. On the contrary, she loved Snape more, she loved him for saving her life.

Only weeks before , Albus had handed her a letter saying that Severus had lost his life in a raid by the aurors. Lily couldn't believe it... it was simply unbelievable, unbelievable. A few months ago they were running in the soft sunlight and laughing as if their time would last forever, as if their love would last forever... they would always, always love Snape .

Lily cried no longer of happiness, of sadness, only sadness and pain, Severus, her Severus was gone , nothing made sense anymore .

You said forever and always ...

She had to tell James about what was happening, he just accepted it soon . He said he was going to keep his promise to take care of her and the kid . However, something new was rising in her heart and even though she knew it wasn't normal, she decided to leave it there to blossom, she was starting to like James Potter.

September 1981 :

When he arrived at Godric's Valley and saw Lily lifeless, he knew that his own life was over. He could only rush to embrace her, as much as he had done when they were married, when they were happy... when they swore to each other forever and ... always.
