In an instant I straightened as I sensed something in the air and I could tell Pyra sensed it as well… Rex there's an ether flow in the air, someone's using a blade in combat! She exclaimed. Rex and I looked at each other and said "Nia!" I took off running with Rex and Pyra at my heels…
As we approached the place where Dromarchs Ether was coming from I activated Monado speed and arrived just in time to block the giant Brog from smashing Nia… Tyler?! Where the Hell did you come from?! Nia demanded. Nia! Rex yelled. Rex?! I looked at her and said "You're welcome!" Shall we Rex? Pyra? I asked. Yeah! They exclaimed. I charged the Brog and as I went to slash at it the damned thing swatted me aside into a boulder… I very briefly got the breath knocked out of me before I got to my feet and I said a silent thanks for blade regeneration!
Rolling Smash! Rex yelled. The Brog went to hit Rex but I intercepted it with Monado speed and a slash to the paw… Rex let me finish this! I said. Be my guest! Rex said. Monado speed X2! I shouted. Before anyone could blink the Brog fell to the ground bleeding from over two dozen cuts and as it dissolved back into the ether I said, shame we had to kill it and everyone sweatdropped… I put my weapon back on my back and turned to face Nia… Well I guess Dromarch and I do owe you guys! Nia said. Yeah you could say that! Rex said. Rex shut up! Pyra said. So where's the big titan that saved our arses? Nia asked. We don't know where Azurda landed or if he even survived… I said.
Gramps can't be dead! Rex said. Rex, Azurda was badly wounded from that ship, and I know titans have healing factors like blades do but if one of those spears hit his crystal… I trailed off as I sensed an ether flux big enough to overwhelm my senses and send me to one knee… Hey Tyler you alright? Rex asked. Yeah. I just… Rex there's a titan's ether nearby! Pyra said. Gramps! Rex exclaimed.
We got to Where Azurda Lay and it was worse than I thought… Parts of him had already dissolved… GRAMPS! Rex yelled. Thank the architect you're alright rex… Azurda said. Hold on, I've got some herbs! Rex said rummaging through his bag... No dear boy... No amount of human medicine can help me now… Azurda said quietly. Pyra and Nia both put their hands to their mouths… The years I had with you were the best of my life Rex… Don't be sad, we will meet again when the flow of the ether wills it... With that Azurda dissolved back into ether…
GRAMPS! Rex fell to his knees… I knew I was about to get a decent laugh because Azurda was already above Rex but I still couldn't help but feel for him… And yet when Rex finally realized Azurda was alive I quietly chuckled to myself… Night fell and with a fire started we planned our trek for tomorrow…
