Chapter 4:
Unsainted
Unsurprisingly, seeing Aang in a state like this made Katara very upset. She thanked Suki with a hug for staying with him while the others went to find Zuko and herself.
"It was my pleasure" She said, hugging Katara tightly. "I'm glad you two are okay".
"Me too" Katara
The two let each other go and Suki walked to the bridge of the ship to join the others. Katara knelt down next to the bunk and leaned her forehead against Aangs. She could feel him calm down a little.
She then would crawl into the bunk and shoo off the others. She wanted to be alone with him. The others left and she climbs over Aang and spoons him from behind, wrapping her one arm around him andon t stroking his head with the other. With her arm around him, she took one of his hands into her own.
"Aang baby, are you okay? We won, right? What's youwrong?" Her voice was breaking as she said this. Aang hadn't even acknowledged Katara's presence… something foreign to both of them.
It was quiet for a few seconds, seconds that seemed to last for days on end to Katara. She wanted to know what was bothering Aang more than anything. It was killing her.
Then, without moving, showing absolutely no emotion in his voice, he replied.
"I killed him Katara...I had no choice… He's dead".
Those words echoed for an uncomfortably long time in Katara's ears. Her eyes widened and began tearing up. She pulled him in closer to her,
"Oh Aang, I'm so sorry…"
She'd repeat herself over and over, crying silently over what she heard, but also in relief that her love was safe.
A/N: HEYYY sorry its been so long since an update lmao, but here it is.
