THE DEVIL'S WORDS
( DAMIAN X CAMERON )
Story idea by: GreySithLord
( Cameron had done many counseling sessions before but none could prepare her for this one. Today, she would get up close and personal with the son of 666, Damian Beelzy. How would their session go? )
Cameron breaths a sigh of relief after the student in front of her exited the room. She immediately wipes the sweat of her brows as she took a sip of warm coffee from her mug. Ten consecutive sessions!! Don't get her wrong though, she loves her job but she would be lying if she said she wasn't tired. One session after another, the mental capacity she holds was clearly running dry as she was in fact tired... mentally... but she didn't complain. In fact, she really enjoyed it. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they leave the room. It made her happy thinking she helped someone's day to be better. It was her creed and passion. An oath she took on the first day of her job.
As she was done resting up, she then took a look at her clipboard which contains her schedule for the rest of the day. As she ticks the boxes and browses through the list of names as her lips was invaded by the rejuvenating black liquid, her eyes went wide went she reached a certain name who's session was in two hours making her almost spat. Her mind instantly panics as the horror in her eyes was clear as day.
She immediately massages her temple as she tries to ransack her brain for ideas. Suddenly, a light bulb went in her head as she immediately jumps out from her chair and exited the room.
She walks along the hallway of the school until she reaches a certain entrance to the theatre. She went inside the theatre and it was busy as always with students practicing or carrying some equipment.
"Oh, hello there Ms Walden!" Kayla greets her from afar with a wide smile.
"Hi there Kayla... umm... is Jackie around?" She asks her nervously.
"She's backstage! Want me to call her here for you?" Kayla asks her in a polite tone.
"Sure, that'll be splendid!" Cameron thanks her.
"Wait just a sec!" Kayla told her as she hops down to the stage and hopped backstage. Cameron always found the way she moves around to be cute and unique although she was still somewhat afraid.
"Hi there Cam~ Checking out the audition for the show?" Jackie beams from in front of her as she flew and landed directly in front of Cameron. Cameron squeals a bit at the sudden swift landing and backs up a few inches.
"Ummm...no! Maybe later... but thanks for the offer!" She politely rejects her.
"Anyways, I have something to talk to you about..." Cameron suddenly told her as she rubs her head nervously.
"Okay, what's the cheese?" Jackie asks her.
"It's about Damian..." Cameron spoke slowly.
"Damian... what about him?" Jackie suddenly raised an eyebrow at her sudden question.
"Well, I kinda have a session with him in a few hours so perhaps some heads up for what I'm dealing with might be good for me..." Cameron explains.
"Heads up? Didn't Zechariah already provided you with some information about him?" Jackie asks her.
"Well.. he did but... I just feel that...I..." She stutters as words fail to escape her mouth.
"He's kinda different..." Cameron sighs at her remembering the first moment when they met.
"Listen Cam..." Jackie suddenly gave her a reassuring look as she places her hand on Cameron's shoulder.
"Damian...might be different but... he's just another student..." Jackie says to her.
"I know that... but...
"Look, I know he seems like a tough nut to crack but you'll manage. I believe in you!" Jackie lifts her spirit with a thoughtful advice.
"You're sure?" Cameron asks her.
"Positive!!" Jackie answers confidently.
Cameron waits the arrival of the demon prince in her office. Her eyes glued to the hand of the clock as each second passes. Her foot lightly taps on the carpet below her as her finger fidgets around clearly showing signs of her nervousness. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door causing Cameron to almost knock her mug of the table.
"Ummm... can I come in?"
Cameron always remembered his voice a she immediately composes herself and clears her throat.
"C-come in!" She stumbles a bit at first but still invites him inside.
The door open revealing a crimson furred jackal demon in his usual black shirt. His signature devilish grin edged on his face.
"So... you're still here huh lady?" Damian said in a snarky voice but Cameron was still to afraid to care.
"Yeah... I'm still here..." Cameron spoke in a nervous tone before she decides to clear her throat.
"Anyways, h-have a seat Mr. Damian. I hope you don't m-mind bean ba-
"Oh cool!" Damian beams before jumping and diving straight on top of the bean bag. He then brought his hand behind his head and relaxed as he closes his eyes. He breathes a sigh of comfort as he continues to snuggle on the soft bean bag.
"R-right..." Cameron just shrugs it off.
"So... umm... this would be m-my first counseling session with you Mr. Damian!" Cameron says to him before he raises an eye on her.
"Lady, just call me Damian would ya? All the mr thing ain't really cutting it out for me!" Damian says to her as he continues to lie on the bean bag.
"O...kay...umm... so Damian... tell me about yourself!" Cameron tries to start a conversation.
"What's else to know?" Damian suddenly said which caught her off guard. Damian was acting uninterested as he just stares at her.
"Perhaps...your friends?" Cameron asks shortly.
"Well... there's Vince, Leo, Addison and Sahara and Jack's my cousin!" Damian said to her.
"Yes, I know.. I have your files... umm... do you have any problems... ummm... with anything at school..." She tries again to make him open up.
"Lady... you're scared of me aren't ya?" Damian bluntly asks her which makes her eyes bulge. She then saw the uneasy look on his face as she rubs the back of her head in sheer nervousness.
"No... I... I'm just..." Cameron stammers as she tries to find the correct words.
"Ain't no shame in admitting it lady!" Damian chuckles dryly at her as he looks down.
"You ain't the first and you're certainly ain't gonna be the last to look at me with those eyes!" Damian suddenly says in a defeated tone.
Cameron suddenly realises that her feelings were getting to her as she tries to mitigate it. She composes herself as she tries to talk to him.
"Look... Damian...
"You know that when I walk everyday passing by people..." He suddenly cuts her off.
"All those stares... not just you... the students...some of the teachers... even kids on the sidewalk..." He suddenly reveals to her making her frown.
"You all have one thing in common... your eyes... the way you look at me... it's all the same...fear... disgust...hate..." Damian continues on a tangent.
"As I walk... I could here the murmurs... and it's not like I don't know what they're talking about that hurts... it's the fact that I do... I mean... suprise, suprise... I'm a no good demon roaming around in the overworld ready to cause mayhem and steal people's souls..." He adds to the already dim mood. Cameron's lip were sealed tight as she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"They look at me like... I was a curse for just existing...but it's not like they're wrong!" Damian suddenly says to her.
"What do you mean Damian?" Cameron asks him in a soft voice.
"Lady..." He sighs at her.
"I did many terrible things in the past... I f*cked up a lot!" He cursed which made her eyes bulge in suprise but she decided to listen on.
"My cousin Jack... I... locked him up once for a week inside a crummy little locker just so Zill wouldn't be reminded of his anniversary!" Damian reveals before looking at her.
"Evil right?" He suddenly looks at her but Cameron didn't respond.
"He have every right to be angry at me... they all do... but I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt..." Damian spoke with a bile in his mouth.
"You know what hurts me the most... the girl I love... someone I always cared about... whenever I'm close to her... she just runs away... screaming in fear..." Damian suddenly sobs.
"It hurts... it hurts so bad..."
"Everyone just looks at me like I'm a good for nothing devil who would ruin their lives!"
Cameron couldn't do anything in her power as she just sat, stared and listened as Damian moves to a crying fit. His black tears dripping down his crimson fur as his head was buried in between his knees. Cameron couldn't stand it anymore. However different was Damian, no matter how bad he was, he was just a kid. She immediately stood up from her chair and moves towards him. Damian who was busy sobbing gasped when he felt something warm wrapping around him. His eyes look up to see Cameron embracing him, without a trace of fear. Damian then cries his heart out as he places his hands behind her back hugging her in return.
"Damian... I'm sorry for the way that others look at you... how I looked at you.."
"I hope you would forgive me..." Cameron apologies.
"Damian... even if everyone looks at you with such negativity, I can tell you this much... they're wrong!" Cameron said which made Damian's eyes shot up to her.
"Yes, I know, I heard what you've said. You think you're a constant nuisance, a mischief maker but you have to realise that you didn't do those things out of malice. It's just your way of trying to fit in! You're not like other demons!"
"No lady! You're wrong! I'm a vile demon! Everything I did just caused people pain and suffering! How am I no different than any other monsters?" Damian asks her crying as he rebuttals her.
"Because... unlike the other demons... I know you're the only one who ever felt guilty for the things you did!"
It was true. The guilt has constantly plagued his mind each day. It was something he always feel and that sets him apart from the other demon who don't share the same feeling.
"An unlike other demons... you have friends besides you... those who are willing to stand up for you... including me..." Cameron says which made him tear up.
"I'll always be there for you. All of us will always be there for you..." Cameron says to him.
"Whenever you need it, I'll be there!" Cameron says as she wipes the tears of his eyes. Damian couldn't help it as he sobs as crashes his body to hers hugging her tightly. Cameron just smiles as she embraces him back giving him the comfort he desperately needs.
After they separated, Damian wipes his tears and looks at her. He then carved his signature toothy grin.
"Thanks... Ms Walden!" Damian thanks her before giving her a genuine hug.
"Thanks for listening to me!" He repeated.
"It's my pleasure Damian!" She spoke softly.
"Umm, Ms. Walden... can I... sign up for another session?" He asks her shyly.
"Sure..." Cameron giggles at his sudden shyness.
"Anytime... my door will always be open for you!" Cameron adds.
"Thanks Ms Walden!"
Damian then exited the room which made it even more clear to Cameron. In the end, Cameron truly sees Damian for what he is. He was just another kid... another kid in need of her guidance... and it was her duty to help!
