No one spoke. The were waiting. Everyone was waiting. That was until Ash spoke, "why didn't you tell anyone?" Ash questioned Green. Nothing. "Ash," a soft voice rang out. It was Crystal. "Do you know where Red is," "Do you thing that I would be at this lame tournament if I knew where my father was, No!" Ash cried. "The reason we're here is because of Giovanni," Paul added, "he wanted us to partake in the tournament for the money, to go to funding for Team Rocket," "you can take us to Giovanni," Silver suddenly interjected. "Yes, but that's a bad idea," Ash answered, "you see, currently Giovanni may just be the most powerful trainer in the world. He has influence over Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh, he could easily extend that reach if he really wanted to but he hasn't had time. He has the 4 horsemen of Team Rocket actively hunting down legendary pokemon and Team Rocket is the strongest it has ever been. It has been growing in the shadow's since the summoning of Dialga, Palkia and Giritina at the Sinjoh ruins all those years ago and it has been growing ever since. Paul, Jimmy and I are literally the rank behind Giovanni and we don't even know all of his plans." "Giovanni is being very secretive about what he does, he expects us to betray him," Jimmy added. "Where do I find Giovanni," Silver asked. "Like we said, that's a bad idea, we tell you where he is and you go to find him he will nearly 100% put it together that we told you considering you haven't been able to find him for the past 4 years. Giovanni will know that we betrayed him and boom our advantage is gone." Paul answered. "Our advantage is that he doesn't know that we're going to betray him," Jimmy continued. "I thought you said he expects you to betray him," Blue asked. "He does expect us to betray him but if we do it at the time he least expects it might just work." Paul answered, "what do you thing Ash," Ash was spaced out in deep thought not paying attention, it was only when Paul repeatedly shouted his name that he emerged from his thought. "Hmm, oh yea I agree, yes that's how he'll be beaten," Ash's true intentions were crystal clear to himself but murky and clouded to the rest in their little group. Why would he betray the man who gave him a family after the previous one had abandoned him. He would never, but he couldn't show it because everyone around him expected him to do the right thing. When would they realize that he was too far gone to return to the light. The light. It seemed so far off. The light once gave him happiness but now it only held despair. Despair and pain of his old life. Like how a simple word made him want to kill someone. That word was the name Dawn. "Ash," Jimmy yelled in his face. "Meeting dismissed," Ash whispered and walked off pondering all that he had done until now. Immediately Jimmy pulled Paul to the side and said, "Ash isn't gonna betray Giovanni, we both know it," Paul did not speak just nodded grimly. "Whenever Giovanni's plan comes into effect Ash will be out for blood, we need to stop him before he does anything extremely bad." Suddenly Paul spoke, "Ash does not believed he can be redeemed, so he will not stop or question Giovanni but I have a plan. Dawn." "You don't intend to..." Jimmy was cut off, "yes, it may be the only way. I know that Ash still has feelings for her even when he denies it and tries to hide it. Why do you thing he panicked when he heard her voice," Paul confirmed, "so you believe that Dawn also still has feelings for Ash," Jimmy asked, "I'm certain of this," Paul answered, "The only thing now we can do is wait." /p

What made it hurt so much was that Dawn still loved him. No matter what happened she still had feelings for the boy who had taught her so much even if he was dead. She was vaguely aware of May trailing behind her. It was only when her legs couldn't carry her any longer that she collapsed onto the sidewalk curling into a sobbing ball. She could only feel pain. The pain of knowing what she did. The endless pain. She could end it. She could just find a high place and jump. No matter how long she put her poker face on the pain would never fade. She would give anything to see him again. To be able to touch him again. His warm embrace. She was in her own little world of sorrow and misery she wasn't even aware of May trying to comfort her. Dawn stopped sobbing as if she had run her supply of tears dry, now she just lay, curled up in a ball feeling empty. She was trapped in her own little fantasy, one where she hoped that he would return. But if he did would he still love her. She never thought of that. If he ever returned would he still love her? Would he forgive her, would he forgive any of them. The cold pavement stinging at her skin as May was still trying to comfort her, finally Dawn arose from the cold pavement, she immediately looked at May and saw the worry etched onto her face, Dawn spoke, "No need to worry," and the worry in May's eyes was replaced with relief. The pair of them now set off to find the others. /p

Alone. No matte how many times he tried to deny it, he was alone. He had nothing. No one. He was utterly and completely alone. He had thought of revealing himself to his former friends but that was pointless. By the end of this tournament everyone in Lumiose city would be dead anyways. He was going to destroy Lumiose city and kill everyone in it. Ash had helped because Team Rocket had given him something to fight for. A cause to fight for. Ash decided to call it quits, it was too late no one was coming. Just like no one was coming to save him from the sea of blackness that he was drowning in. No matter how evil Team Rocket was, he supported it. He supported Giovanni. Ash had killed for him, stolen for him. Heck, he had committed genocide because Giovanni had asked. He did this because Giovanni provided him with a family. Giovanni actually cared for him. That's why betraying Giovanni made no sense to Ash. Giovanni had provided him with a family. Something Ash had become so foreign to. But if Ash had to choose, he would not have chose the path he was set on but it was too late for redemption. The path Ash was set on was one full of darkness and there was no return./p

As he had always been. His first match was about to start and it was against Gary of all people. Ash smirked to himself. "We're going to have soo much fun having a nice match against our friend Gary, aren't we Pikachu," Ash spoke sarcastically, "Pi, Pika," Pikachu agreed. Suddenly he heard his name being called out and walked out onto the field. Ash looked around, the only spectator's there were the traitors. The ref began speaking, "This is a 6 on 6 battle between Gary Oak of Pallet Town and Red Ketchum, also of Pallet Town," the ref was reading off a notebook and looked really surprised that they were both from Pallet Town. "Hurry up ref," Ash called out, "we don't have all day, we both know the rules, don't we Gary," Gary was silent but the Ref spoke, "sorry, sir let's begin then. Trainers send out your first Pokemon," Go, Magmar," Gary called out at the Spitfire pokemon left it's Pokeball. "Mag, Magmar," the Pokemon cried. "Go, Pikachu," Ash yelled, Pikachu jumped onto the field confidently. "Battle begin," the ref called out. "All right Magmar, let's end this quickly, Fire Blast!" Gary yelled, Ash didn't say anything he just watched as the attack collided with Pikachu. No one could see anything because of the explosion Fire Blast had made. Finally after what seemed like forever, the dust cleared and there stood Pikachu standing in the same spot unscathed. "What," Gary cried, "How," "Let's get this over with Pikachu. Use Thuderbolt," Ash spoke bored, "Pika, chuuuuu," the small mouse Pokemon cried as it let off a thunderbolt, "oh no, Magmar, Dodge quickly." Gary cried. It was no use Thunderbolt struck Magmar and the Pokemon went flying into the wall behind Gary. "Magmar is unable to battle the winner is Pikachu, Trainer Gary please send out your next Pokemon," the Ref called out. Gary was shell shocked and had his mouth wide open, that Pikachu had taken a Fire Blast and shrugged it off like it got hit by a tackle and then it had launched the most powerful thunderbolt Gary had ever seen. In the stands the traitors were just as shell shocked as Gary, "a normal Pikachu... how," Max cried, "How did Pikachu survive a Fire Blast without using Protect or deflecting it with another move," Brock wondered aloud, "Focus on the battle," May scolded as the ref called Gary to call out his next Pokemon. "Go, Electivire," Gary yelled, "use Ice Punch," "Iron Tail," the two moves clashed creating an explosion just the opening Ash needed. "Quick Attack," "watch out Electivire," Gary cried, in the end it was futile, "Electivire is unable to battle, Pikachu is the winner, will Trainer Gary send out his next Pokemon," The ref called out. "Pikachu still looks unharmed," Cilian noted, "but how, how can he be this good at battling," Max wondered aloud. "Did you forget, we're at the Master's Tournament, the best of the best are competing here," Dawn responded. Back in the battle Gary had called out his Skarmory. "Skarmory, use Agility followed by Flash Cannon," Gary yelled, "Skar!" the Pokemon cried out as it increased its speed and shot out white flashes from its mouth, "Dodge, then hit it with Volt Tackle Iron Tail," Ash yelled, span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: bold;"(volt tackle iron tail is the move ash used to take out tobias's Latios in the Sinnoh league semi finals, just clearing that up.) /span"Dodge Skarmory," the Agilities it had used proved affective because Pikachu narrowly missed Skarmory, "Quick Pikachu, use your tail to lauch yourself at Skarmory," Ash yelled quickly, "pi, Pikachu!" the pokemon replied confidently. "Skarmory get out of the way quick," Gary cired. There was no point by the time Gary had given his command Pikachu had just hit Skarmory out of the sky and it fell. "How is this Pikachu doing so well, its so strong, Brock you don't think..." Max said, he didn't finish it but the others knew where he was going with it, he didn't need to elaborate for them to understand. "Go, Alakazam," Gary yelled. "Quick Attack," Ash whispered and in a flash Pikachu was gone and Alakazam was knocked out. "Alakazam is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu," the ref called. Gary was silent looking down at the floor until finally, "Go Umbreon, Use Shadow Ball," Gary yelled out, "Um bre," the pokemon cried concentrating. "Thunderbolt," Ash yelled. The two moves collided in the middle for a moment. only for a moment, until thunderbolt overpowered dark pulse and Umbreon was out. "Umbreon is unable to continue, Trainer Gary please send out your last Pokemon," the ref called. Gary clenched his last Pokeball in his hand. He knew who he was facing. Red Ketchum. His best friend's Ash Ketchum's brother and Red had talked about Ash like he was nothing, worthless. Gary would not allow his friend's name to be disrespected like that, "Go Blastiose," "Use Volt Tackle," "Hydro Pump." From that moment everyone who was watching the battle knew the outcome. "Blastiose is unable to battle so the victor is Pikachu, which means that the match goes to Red of Pallet Town," The ref called out. Ash didn't really hear because he had already started to walk out of the battle arena. "What's that guys problem, first he trash talks Ash, then he destroys Gary in a Pokemon battle and then he doesn't even stay to shake Gary's hand," Brock cried, "I'm gonna go give him a piece of my mind," Brock ran out of the stadium followed by Max, Misty, Cilian and Iris. "We should probably go to," Dawn said to May as they both got out of their seats and walked off going to find their friends. When they found their friends they were greeted with an interesting scene. /p

Alone. He had always been alone. Suddenly he was shoved forwards. He looked back and there stood Brock, Misty, Max, Cilian and Iris. "What's your problem," Ash said as he recomposed himself. "You walked off without even thanking the ref or shaking Gary's hand," Iris yelled. "I simply don't have time for that I need to go train so if you'll excuse me," Ash replied and pulled out is Pokedex to call Jimmy. Ash immediately regretted his decision. A hand came and hit his Pokedex out of his hand while doing so it opened his contact for himself that read, 'Ash Ketchum'. Everyone was staring at it shocked. Ash just sighed and picked up his Pokedex, he began walking away until he heard her voice, speaking to him. The voice he had come to despise but now hearing the voice speaking to Ash not Red . "Ash?" Dawn asked shocked. Ash couldn't help but feel butterflies deep in his stomach, he knew that he still loved Dawn but he would never admit it to anyone, slowly he turned around, "Oh, hey. Fancy seeing you guys here."/p
