Hey everyone, Kratos Scarlet here! Today, we're going to take a brief look at Fairy Tail: Resurgence's timeline!
Huh? How am I breaking the fourth wall and not using quotes with what I'm saying? Simple! It's because this segment exists outside of the laws of reality for both the story and continuity! Make sense? No? Don't worry, it's over my head, too.
I'm sure many readers are wondering what year the timeline is, what became of the previous members of Fairy Tail, and who became the guildmaster of Fairy Tail post the 100-year-quest arc!
Well, let's take care of the first and last questions with this brief overview of who became guild master up to present times:
Mavis Vermillion (Year X686 - X696)
Precht Gaebolg (Year X696 - X736)
Makarov Dreyar (Year X736 - X784)
Macao Conbolt (Year X785 - X791)
Gildarts Clive (Year X791 for one day)
Makarov Dreyar (Year X791 for most of the year)
~Fairy Tail is temporarily disbanded~
Erza Scarlet (Year X792 - X793)
From here on, the timeline of Fairy Tail: Resurgence takes over, as the previous guildmasters have had their times as Master explained through the original Fairy Tail series.
Makarov Dreyar (Year X793 - X796) - After resuming the position of Master once more, Makarov takes temporary control over Fairy Tail to re-stabilize the guild and prepare the next guildmaster for the job.
Laxus Dreyar (Year X797 - X850) - Laxus would take over for his grandfather as guildmaster of Fairy Tail, and encourage members to train hard and work with one another, as to help the guild feel more like a family, again, as it always had for him. During his last eight years as Master, Laxus would complain about not being able to pass the torch to his desired candidate due to their irresponsible nature, and finish his term to purposely serve one year longer than his grandfather as Master.
Chizuhi Redfox (Year X850 - Year X888) - Laxus would eventually elect the youngest son of Gajeel Redfox and Levy McGarden to take over as Master, thanks to his level head and indomitable spirit, stating that it's the new generation that needs to take charge, not the old. Though young and inexperienced, Chizuhi proved to be one of the most forward-thinking Masters to date, creating the supplemental group to the magic guilds called the Blue Fairies - a group filled with members from magic guilds all over dedicated to making life easier for the average citizen. Once the Blue Fairies disbanded, Chizuhi decided it'd be time to pass the torch to let new ideas prosper.
Rebecca Evermore (Year X889 - X896) - Rebecca would take the reins from Chizuhi, but was unable to live up to his reputation as a forward-thinking innovator. Throughout her seven years, she constantly was compared to Chizuhi to the point of great dissatisfaction, resulting in inner conflict amongst guild members. One day, Rebecca suddenly disappeared and never returned, leaving Fairy Tail to fend for itself until a new Master was elected.
Chizuhi Redfox (Year X896 - X905) - Chizuhi would take over and reimplement his ideas to restore Fairy Tail to its former glory, to the day he became bed-ridden to a magical ailment that had plagued him for his whole life, until a young woman with tremendous magic abilities miraculously cured him.
Esme Faerune (Year X905 - X910/Present) - The woman that had cured Chizuhi was dubbed the Great Healer and Fairy Priestess, with support that heavily swayed the next Master election in her favor. She helped keep Chizuhi's many projects for magic guilds afloat whilst also improving on Fairy Tail's reputation as the strongest guild in Magnolia, promoting both strength and peace amongst all magic guilds up until present times.
Phew, now that THAT's over with, we can finally just say that we're in the Year X910, about 117 years in the future from the Fairy Tail series! Esme Faerune is the 13th Master of Fairy Tail, what a lucky number! As for what became of certain characters? Well, here's the bad news.
Despite the amazing abilities of rejuvenation and life magic, none of the members of Fairy Tail could survive beyond a century, save for Natsu Dragneel and the Exceeds. The longest living member from the original members of Fairy Tail was Erza Scarlet, who perished during the Year X891 of natural causes.
So, where's Natsu now? Who knows? He still kicks around with us at Fairy Tail from time to time, but he's usually busy on some quest or other. It's always much more lively when he's around, though, wouldn't you think?
