With a whopping one follower and no reviews, here is the final chapter of this terribly performing story. I had fun writing it though, and that's what I care about.
"Zuma? What are you doing here?" Chase questioned, although he was pretty sure he knew the answer.
"Those guys got me, but the others are coming to save us." Zuma explained to the delight of Chase.
"They found me?" Chase excitedly asked.
"Yeah, and Tracker is listening for us, so we should keep talking, dude." Zuma told Chase.
Ryder was very cautious while shining the flashlight into the cave. Zuma didn't even go into the cave and somebody in it saw his light and took him. Ryder panned the light around in the cave, but made sure he was quite the distance away. All he could see was a straight path leading into the cave, so they had to enter the cave to get any idea of where to go.
It was very scary going into that cave, Tracker listened and didn't hear any tribal members nearby. Tracker didn't actually know what the tribe sounded like, but all he heard were Chase and Zuma, who were clearly not a part of the tribe. He heard the two having a conversation, though, which was good because that confirmed they were nearby each other.
They all went in together, and although that makes them easier to see and hear, it's also kind of hard to take six pups and two humans without being noticed by any if them. Weather the tribe would care about being seen was unknown though, and they also had no idea if any one member of the tribe would be strong enough to take them on or not. This was a risky maneuver, but they had to get Chase and Zuma back.
They went through the cave extremely slowly and they tried not to say a word. Ryder pointed at what he saw. Tracker pointed the direction he heard Chase and Zuma in. The only time anybody said anything was once they got to the are where all of the tribe was.
They didn't know it, but Zuma getting taken actually saved them. There would've actually been members if the tribe around in the cave if they weren't all around their newly obtained pup, that pup being Zuma. The whole tribe was watching Chase and Zuma do whatever they were doing, and that's why the adventure through the cave was so uneventful.
"How can we get them out?" Rubble whispered very quietly.
"Tracker could lower himself down with his cables for one of them, I'm not sure if the other would be too heavy though." Ryder explained as quietly as Rubble asked his question, "Everest, if you could get a grip on the ceiling with your grapple hook, you could get the other."
"I'll try, but its gonna be a tough shot." Everest responded, trying to find a good place on the ceiling.
She actually did manage to get her grapple hook to hook onto the ceiling. They figured it's best for her to get Zuma because her hook was less reliable than Tracker's cables so the heavier pup should go to him. Everest had to swing into Zuma and hope she could get him to grab on before she went back. She had much harder of a job than Tracker, but she executed it perfectly. Almost perfectly.
She swung down right after Zuma noticed the obvious hook line on the cave ceiling and managed to get him to grab on. She swung back and could've made it if the hook didn't unhook from the ceiling as she tried to. Ryder and the pups were on top of a small cliff that lead into the room Chase and Zuma were in, so Everest could just shoot her hook up there and get up with Zuma almost as planned. She could do that if there wasn't a member if the tribe sprinting her way. He was moving way too fast for Everest to shoot the hook up in time, so she just stared at him as she and Zuma cowered against the wall of the cliff preventing them from getting away.
Tracker, though, had an easy time getting Chase out. He lowered himself down for Chase to grab on, which Chase did and he went up out of reach of every single member of the tribe. Before he started to go back, though, he saw Everest's grapple hook fail and her and Zuma in obvious danger of the one tribal guy.
It seemed like an impossible situation for them to get out of. What would happen to them was unknown, but it probably wasn't good. They never would know what would happen, as they did get out with help from Tracker.
The one guy running at them was the only one doing that, which was perfect. While Tracker and Chase's landing didn't feel so good afterwards, he shot one of his cables at the tribal guy's leg and knocked him down. This gave Everest enough time to shoot her hook up and pull her and Zuma up the cliff to safety. Tracker just shot his cables back up to the ceiling and went up with Chase, all four of them got out safely.
The tribe got up that cliff via a rope hanging off of it, which they tried to climb but obviously couldn't do so fast enough before the entire PAW Patrol was out of the forest, the only casualty being Chase's pup pack.
"We did it! Everybody's safe!" Ryder cheered, everybody outside of the forest next to their vehicles.
"That was a close one Everest." Jake said, referring to when her grapple failed.
"Yeah. I don't think I could've gotten out if it weren't for Tracker." She replied, looking over at him.
"Yeah, dude, thanks for saving us back there!" Zuma agreed, making all the pups look over at Tracker, all of them having seen what he did.
"Don't mention it guys." Tracker smiled, having done what he did for no other reason than it was the right thing to do.
"You did good Tracker. Now let's get back to the lookout before the tribe comes out." Ryder suggested followed by all pups getting in their vehicles, Jake on the back of Everest's.
Back at the lookout they all obviously talked about whatever they could referring to what they all just went through. Sharing their stories on what was happening to them, how they got out and all that. The two main pups in the conversation were Chase and Marshall. Chase because of his unusual situation and Marshall, because, well, he got impaled.
"You scared me back there Zuma." Rocky told Zuma, not in the big talks with the rest of the pups as Rocky pulled Zuma aside.
"I'm sure we were all scared, dude." Zuma replied, knowing Rocky was talking about the situation in the cave.
"Yeah, but, Zuma... Ah. I'm just glad you're okay." Rocky smiled after stuttering over himself.
"Thanks Rocky dude." Zuma said, unsure why Rocky pulled him away from the group for that.
"Tracker, what you did back there was amazing!" Everest said to him, putting the attention on him once again.
"All I did was save you, we do that all the time." Tracker responded.
"You did it without thinking, and it could've gotten you hurt." Everest said to him, still praising him for what he did.
"Thanks Everest." Tracker smiled, finally giving in to Everest.
Getting everything back to normal didn't take too long. All Ryder had to do was give Chase a new pup pack, and accept that all of the pups now have a crippling fear of forests. Marshall was gonna take a while to fully heal, so Ryder was going to be hesitant to call on him for anything unless he was absolutely required.
What a crazy experience they all lived through, and they made sure to let everybody know not to go into that forest, ever.
