A/N: Well this has been a long ass pause, but I'm finally back to writing stuff, enjoy this hastily made chapter based off mostly memory.
New Rainbow Headquarters, Hamburg, Germany.
9th of August, 1100 hours, 2023.
Harry, over the intercom: would operators Vogel, Napalm and Orzel please report to my room immediately. I repeat operators Vogel, Napalm and Orzel report to my room immediately.
Joseph: Guess that's our call, come on we don't wanna leave him waiting.
Thomas: Right behind you brother.
Lukas: Alright then, let's haul ass.
The trio moved to Harry's office as fast as they can, when they entered the office they saw a redheaded woman staring at a window, presumably waiting for them and another woman with a scar on her face and Russian flag on her left sleeve. They soon took a seat beside the Russian woman.
Joseph: You wanted to meet us sir?
Harry: Yes, all three of you to be exact. I'll let my second in command here tell you everything you need to know
The redhead known as Eliza which they met when they first arrived stood beside the director when she showed a map with pins pointing towards several locations, one's pointing towards Yukon Territory in Canada.
Eliza: We finally have a lead on who might be responsible for supplying the gas for the Warsaw attack 2 days ago.
She pulled out a file containing the details of a man named Nathan Myers.
Eliza: This is Nathan Myers, notorious mercenary and leader of a North American militia suspected of working with the White Masks, we believe he's the one who produced and supplied the gas used in the Warsaw attack two days ago.
We have intel suggesting that he's been using an abandoned factory around Yukon Territory to produce said gas and he's been operating in the rural areas to cover their tracks, but some people have seen armed men along the path leading to the factory. There's a good chance that those men are Nathan's militia or the White Masks.
Lukas: And... you trust this information? And you're sure they're still there? If people are getting suspicious of their activity surely they're might be thinking of relocating because they're not idiots, they'll try to cover all of their tracks so no one would know where they are.
Eliza: You're right, but this is the only lead we've got on them, we don't seem to think they've known that they're compromised.
Thomas: And what if they don't?
Eliza: We'll search the area and see if they left anything that could be of use for us. But until then the three of you will be deployed along with Specialist Lera "Finka" Melnikova who is sitting right beside you right now, with Napalm being the team leader for the operation, along with a contact from the JTF2 who's ready to assist you during the operation. His name is Lieutenant Sean Leblanc, you will rendezvous with him and his squad as soon as you reach the LZ. Your objective will be to find the gas and make sure they won't be able to use it anymore.
Joseph: So you're suggesting we blow up the gas along with the factory?
Eliza: That's possible, but we don't want collateral damage. It's preferable if we can confiscate and secure the gas, we don't wanna cause too much chaos.
Joseph: Understandable, anything else you need to know?
Eliza: That's all we have right now, we'll inform you all if anything changes. You're dismissed.
The three of them along with Lera stood up and saluted before they left the office. As they were walking, one of them decided to start a conversation.Lukas: So Lera, you're a Russian right?
Lera: Yes, why'd you ask?
Lukas: I'm just wondering, would a Spetsnaz operator operating in North America cause any trouble?
Lera: Don't worry, I've operated in North America before, and I don't remember having encountering any trouble. Sure there was some strange looks from some people but nothing major.
Joseph: Really? Where did you operate?
Lera: New Mexico, in this city called Truth or Consequences. There was a huge outbreak involving something called a Chimera virus that would turn people into these rabid mutants, possibly one of the most terrifying things I've ever encountered.
Thomas: Yeah I remembered that, had a friend that participated in the area, he told me how fucked up they looked. Said it haunted his dreams and couldn't get it outta his head.
Lukas: That's what PTSD does to a person, you see some crazy fucked up shit that you've never seen before and you'll never forget it for all the bad reasons, anyways how long have you been here in Rainbow?
Lera: 5 years at the most, I'm part of a CBRN unit specializing in Chemical, Biological, Radioactive and Nuclear threats and that's why I'm coming with you in this op.
Lukas: Then I'm glad we have you on our side, this is gonna be an eye for an eye for what they did at Warsaw, I'll make sure of it.
Joseph: Just don't go too far, Luke. We don't want any casualties on our first mission, got it?
Lukas: Yeah I copy, it's not like I'm some fuckin amateur that can't hold a gun.
Joseph: Let's hope so, I don't wanna lose any of you this early.
The trio along with Lera made their way into the rec room to take some rest before their upcoming mission, the new operators spent most of their time socializing and introducing themselves to the other operators who happens to be there. Most of them got along well with the three and has received positive reception since they arrived, especially with Eliza, Elena and Mike who disliked the idea of having PMC's and preferred operators from actual counter terrorist units which was understandable, not many people on Rainbow really liked Nighthaven that much and the incident at Greece was the last straw for Kali and her PMC as they left after tearing their contract apart with one exception, and that was Apha Tawanroong or 'Aruni', she wasn't in for the money nor did she support Kali and when the PMC left, she opted to stay since she figured it was the right thing to do. Now who knows if they're hostile towards Rainbow or not, but if one thing's for sure is that they sure as hell not coming back.
