Part 5 - Trial and Reactions
Few weeks later, Rach was busy with her school stuff, and Emily too pregnant didnt come either, so it was just Paul, Sam and his parents aswell Sue there at the courthouse, and they got to see Bella and Michael again, and Bella was also heavily pregnant with their first (Michael's third, her first) child, and ready to pop it, but it was few more weeks to go for her. They all gave her a hug, while shaking Michael's hand in theirs, only Alison and Sue kissed his cheek, as Sue also told her that she gotten divorced from Charlie as what she been advised to do, and she did so with the lawyer that helped Sam and Rachel with their exes, including Sue's own daugther who had been both sent to Mental Hospital and after being there for 90 days of treatment, she was not allowed back on reservation so she lived with relatives from Makah Rez, and was doing much better there than on La Push reservation. Rachel's ex had put on restraining order not ever come even close to the state of Washington and so far he did so too.
Soon they also got to meet Bella's biological father for first time in his normal stance and he was really good and funny guy behind his serious stance. Which made them laugh every now and then. Sue seems to be interested in him, but they didnt know each other that well, so they began a friendship to see where it led to, but until they knew more of their own, they would stay friendly at least. Better than being enemies or not really sure about each other at all.
They were all called into the courtroom number 2, and it was going to be closed doors. Bella got to see many of the victims that she gotten a sight of on the videos and grimaced to herself, as she could see some were still underaged, and had their own parents there. Michael's hand on her belly, and Eric's on her shoulder made her realise that she is not alone in this at all. Sam held a hand on his dad's shoulder, for what Charlie had done for years, had gotten Josh one very pissed man at who he thought as a friend. Well not anymore, and Sue had just disgust and sadness, while Alison kept it together for Bella, as she and Josh saw Bella even if her own real father was there too, they saw each other as her extra parents, and Bella did mind that at all either.
The judge came in then in came Charlie in handcuffs and footcuffs, and dragged up to a chair, looking way worse than ever, but it was all his own fault for this. The girls that he had hurt, all stiffened or looked down or away from him, as it was painful for them too, to see him again in the flesh. The judge went over what he he had pledged guilty to including abusing his own daugther up til she was 18 years old and had left to go to college, aswell 15 cases of rapes and sexual abuses of many minor girls most still minors to this day, as most had been just children when he done what he did to them. Bella was sickly looking like many others in the room. Paul and Sam had keep swallowing for what they heard of the said crimes that he admitted to and comitted himself to be guilty of.
In the end, he got sentenced as Sex Predator, Sex Criminal and also got registered as Sex Offender, but his full sentence was for life without parole due to graphic violence and how unfeeling he was while talking about it on the stand, and how it pleased him to hurt girls in that way, and that he had wanted to do the same to Bella but felt something was stopping him so he took it out other girls instead. Bella was sick now, and had to be excused from the room, when she heard that, and was allowed to go out of the room and Michael went with her.
After being sentenced, he was dragged out of the room, kicking and screaming of how he would one day get loose and come after them. So when he later came to the jail of Maximun security, he was locked in the isolation cell, so he had no contact with any other prisoners and only allowed out 1 hour per day for rest of his day and watched very carefully too.
Later that day, they came back to La Push, and now had to tell the others who was clueless of what had been going on and happened weeks earlier when they got to see the ex-chief Police of Forks dragged away in cuffs and carried and pushed into the FBI van, and when they all got to learn about what had happened and why, most reacted with anger and shock. Billy and few more were only ones who didnt believe it could be true at all, and Bella and those girls were all liars. But they would learn soon enough of the truth for sure.
