Chapter 5

Didyme's POV

I was grateful to Ambrosia for bringing me back. I was surprised when I found out how much time had passed since the battle with the Romanians. But I was so nervous about how Marcus and my brother would react to me being back. I didn't know if Marcus had moved on from me or not. How would my brother, my twin react to my return. When Ambrosia and I entered Volterra and I saw the castle I wanted to cry, I was finally home. It took all my self-control not to run all the way to the throne room where I was positive everyone would be. I heard someone talking in the throne room. The voice didn't sound familiar to me, but it must have been to Ambrosia. She went from having a peaceful look on her face, to one of angry. But she hide it quickly as we approached the throne room doors. I opened the doors and walked in quickly moving to the side out of Ambrosia way. I had learned quickly that when she was like this to stay out of her way. I remembered that Caius had a temper. But Caius' temper was nothing compared to Ambrosia. She was one of the original vampires, she was also my brother's, Marcus, and Caius' sire. She told me why she had changed my brother and I understood her reason. She wasn't sure who at the time, but one of her descendants was my brother's soul mate. Which had just been united earlier in the day, I was looking forward to finally meeting her. I stood to the side as Ambrosia addressed the male that had been talking.

"You forgot the most important part, Xenophilius." she said.

"Hello Ambrosia, I thought I sense you nearby." the male I now knew as Xenophilius said turning slightly so he could see her. "Oh my Ambrosia, your right I did 'forget' the most important part would you like to tell them." Xenophilius said smirking.

"Indeed I would." Ambrosia said as she approached the four vampires and the strangely dressed human in the center of the room. "If you value your life's you should leave Isabella and Severus alone." Ambrosia said in a voice I knew meant that she was not happy.

"BELLA, DOESN'T BELONG HERE, SHE BELONGS TO ME!" one of the vampires in the center of the room yelled.

"Idiot." Xenophilius and three others said together. In the next second he was slammed against a wall with both of his arms missing.

"SHE IS NOT AN OBJECT TO BE OWNED. SHE IS NOT YOUR SOUL MATE BOY, SHE IS ARO'S SOUL MATE AND WILL BE THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN. AND HER NAME IS ISABELLA, NOT FUCKING BELLA. AND I DO NOT TAKE KINDLY TO ANYONE BAD MOUTHING THE VAMPIRES THAT I SIRED." Ambrosia yelled before she proceeded to tear him apart and set his remains on fire. "NOW ANYONE THAT'S NOT A MEMBER OF THE VOLTURI OR WASN'T INVITED GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE OR JOIN HIM!" Ambrosia yelled at the ones remaining, she pointed to the pile of ash remains. They ran out the doors as if Hades was after them. No one moved or spoke until Ambrosia calmed down and broke the silent. I on the other hand was confused. What did Ambrosia mean mother of his children? How is that possible, vampires couldn't have children? I looked at the young woman in my brothers arms. She was definitely a descendant of Ambrosia, she looked just like her.

"Now with that out of the way, back to why I'm here to start with." she said as she motioned for me to come forward. I slowly approached as I glanced over at Marcus. He looked so sad and depressed, was he like that because of me. "All of you just witness one of my gifts. One of my other gifts I can bring back the dead." she informed them. Marcus' attention snapped to her and a look of hope appeared in his eyes. "Now, I have someone with me that has been dearly missed here." Ambrosia said as she stepped away from me. I took an unneeded breath and removed the hood of my cloak, stood there and waited for a reaction. In the next millisecond I was in Marcus' arms.

"Didyme, my dear sweet Didyme." Marcus repeated over and over.

"I'm here Marcus. I'm back." I said as I looked at my dear twin. Who had come closer with Isabella by his side. "Marcus, my love can you let go of me for a moment? I would like to see my brother and meet Isabella. I promise I won't leave your sight." I asked/said. I felt him tense at the thought of letting me go. He turned to look at Aro and Isabella, and slowly released his hold on me. I moved to stand in front of Aro and Isabella. Aro looked like he wanted to cry.

"Sister, I have missed you so." he said. I glanced at Isabella and she smiled at me. I took that as a good sign and threw my arms around my brother.

"I'm glad to be back. And it's all thanks to Ambrosia." I said letting him go. I then gently hugged Isabella since she was still human. I didn't want to accidently hurt her. "And it's wonderful to meet you Isabella." I said to her. I felt her tense beliefly and then relaxed.

"I'm happy to meet you, Didyme." she replied hugging me back. I pulled away and took a step back and turned to Ambrosia.

"Ambrosia, I'm confused about something." I said to her.

"What are you confused about, Didyme?" she asked. I looked back at Aro and Isabella for a moment then turned back to face Ambrosia.

"What did you mean that Isabella would be the mother of Aro's children? Vampires can't have children." I asked about the confusing statement she had made earlier. She smiled at me then turned to look towards the thrones.

"Luna, will you come here please?" she asked. A young pale haired blue eyed girl of about fifteen come forward.

"Didyme, Luna here is a hybrid, half human half vampire. They are very rare at the moment Luna is one of five that exist. That number will raise to seven in the next nine months. About a hundred and fifty years ago it was discovered that male vampires could get human females pregnant. The mothers of the first four didn't survivor through the birth. Luna's mother was the first one that made it through, because of an idea that Xenophilius had gotten." Ambrosia explained.

"What was the idea?" I asked.

"Xenophilius had gotten the idea of having Lycoris drink blood. He realized that the child was half vampire and that human food wouldn't be enough." Isabella replied/explained.

"That does make sense. Wait? Five exist now, but in the next nine months the number will raise to seven. Is...is Isabella pregnant...with twins?" I replied/asked. I looked around the throne room. All the guards and Marcus looked shocked by the news. Isabella was blushing, Aro was smiling at Isabella with love in his eyes, and Ambrosia smiled and nodded her head. I was going to be an Aunt.

"I said it earlier, I'll say it again. Aro, doesn't waste time." Caius said coming forward.

"Obviously." I said looking at Isabella and Aro and then hugged them again. "Thank you." I said to them. They looked at each other then back at me confused.

"For what sister?" Aro asked.

"For making me an Aunt." I replied.

"Hey, where's my hug?" Caius asked. I decided to tease him.

"What hug?" I asked with I hoped an innocence look. Caius looked shocked for a moment then shook his head with a chuckle.

"You haven't changed, Didyme. You haven't changed at all." he replied. After that I was introduced to everyone I didn't know. Jane threw herself into my arms the first chance she got.

"I've missed you so much Mistress Didyme." she cried.

"Calm down Jane I'm back now." I replied. I was surprised to learn that the humans were witches or wizards. Which meant Isabella was a witch and a very powerful one. Isabella looked uncomfortable for a moment before she spoke to Marcus.

"Marcus, could you tell Didyme what happened to me when I was a child. I would tell her but even after all these years I still have difficulty talking about it without breaking down?" she asked. I noticed Aro's eyes flash with angry, as he pulled Isabella closer to him. Whatever happened to her really pissed Aro off.

"I will tell Didyme in private, Isabella." Marcus replied. Isabella nodded as she rubbed her temples. Aro looked at her in concern.

"Another headache, Isabella?" he asked.

"Unfortunely, yes and even after a six hour nap I'm still tired." she said. "Emmett, Draco, don't even think about making any smartass comments. You know exactly what I will do Draco if you do." Isabella said glaring at them.

"What would you do?" I asked my soon to be sister in law. At least I hope she will be.

"It depends on what they did or said. I'm a Slytherin so I can be quite sneaky and creative when need be." she replied.

"Your sneaky alright I could never figure out how you managed to sneak into the Hogwarts library after curfew and not get caught by or that bloody cat of his." Hermione commented shaking her head.

"You were sneaking out of the Slytherin common room after curfew, Isabella?" her father asked in shock. She glared at Hermione.

"Only on the nights that I woke up from a nightmare and it wasn't just the library I would go to the kitchen as well." she replied.

"Why the library?" I asked.

"Books are an escape for me. Reading gave me something else to think about besides my nightmares." she replied as she rubbed her hand against her side with a pained look on her face.

"Your still having nightmares, Isabella?" Ambrosia asked.

"Yes." she replied.

"Are they the same or are they getting worse?" Ambrosia asked with a worried look.

"They were the same until I found out that Greyback had escape Azkaban. They've be getting worse ever since, to the point that I've been consently looking over my shoulder or jumping at every little noise, and I can't sleep without a dreamless sleep potion. Which means I only been sleeping once a week." she replied. I frowned. What the hell happened to her to cause her so much fear.

"It's getting late we should get Isabella, Severus, Hermione, Narcissa, Draco, and Lucius some human food. And Luna if she wants any." Caius said. Aro nodded.

"Yes, it's nearly eight o'clock. And Isabella should really try to rest if not get some more sleep." Ambrosia said. Isabella got a terrified look on her face and Ambrosia noticed. "I know the thought of sleeping scares you Isabella because of the nightmares. But with you being pregnant you need all the sleep you can get. Now that you and Aro have found each other. Hopefully, his presence will cause the nightmares that were formed from those memories will start to vanish." Ambrosia said/explain. Isabella's eyes fill with hope.

"Is there really a possibility that they will start to vanish?" she asked.

"It usely depends on how strong the connections between soul mates are. And yours and Aro's connection is very strong. So, yes there is a possibility." Ambrosia replied. She then turned to me and Marcus.

"Didyme, Marcus, both of you have some catching up to do. Why don't you two go ahead and 'retire' for the night." Ambrosia said to us with a smile. We nodded and walked out of the throne room. When we got to our room I stop in the doorway. I looked around and looked at Marcus.

"Exactly, how long of I been gone?" I asked.

A little over a thousand years." he replied. I breathed an unneeded sigh.

"I've got a lot of catching up to do, everything has changed." I said as I looked around again.

"Didyme, I should go ahead and tell you what happened to Isabella when she was a child. And since you've already gotten close to her it's going to upset you." Marcus said. I looked at him.

"It's really bad isn't it?" I asked. He nodded. I set down on his lap in one of the chairs by the fireplace. "What happened to her Marcus? She tensed up when I hugged her I thought it was because I'm a vampire. But now I'm starting to rethink that." I asked/said.

"She was raped by werewolves when she was four years old." Marcus told me. I covered my mouth with my hands in horror.

"I don't understand she doesn't acted or smell like a werewolf. She smells like strawberries and some kind of flower." I said confused.

"It happened two weeks before the full moon, she has the heightened senses of a werewolf but she doesn't turn into one. Lucius killed all but one. That one had slipped away when he heard Lucius calling for Isabella. She freak out earlier today when Aro found out terrified that he would leave her because of it." Marcus explained.

"I guess Aro found out by reading her mind." I replied.

"No, Isabella has a mental shield, so Aro can't read her mind unless she lifts her shield. And that I know of she hasn't yet." he replied.

"What are Isabella's bonds to everyone besides Aro and of course her father?" I asked.

"Her bonds to Caius, Demetri, Felix, Jane, Alec, Rosalie, Jasper, Emmett, Draco, you and I are that of siblings. Her bond to Hermione and Luna is that of a mother, there a reason for that. Her bond to Narcissa is that of a daughter. And to Lucius is that of a second father figure. She hasn't meet the rest of the coven yet so I'm not sure about the others." he replied. I wonder were her mother is.

"Where's Isabella's mother?" I asked.

"She was murder two days after Isabella was raped by those werewolves. Why Ambrosia hasn't brought her back I don't know." he replied.

"If Isabella's mother was killed by magic with what Ambrosia has told me, she can't bring back anyone that was killed by magic." I told him. "Hopefully, Isabella life will get better now that she's with Aro." I said. "Now I believe we have some catching up to do." I said to him before kissing him.
