Chapter Five

(Randall's POV)

It's a simple ceremony in the park in Monstropolis. Mike and Sullivan are even there as guests.

Our song is "Far Longer Than Forever" from the human movie "The Swan Princess", and we dance to it at the reception. Becky's parents and Becky are the only humans in attendance, which is just fine with Becky and me.

After the send-off, we head back to the human world to finish packing up Becky's stuff to take back to my – now our – new apartment. We've got built-in bookcases on either side of our fireplace with five shelves each making it twenty shelves in total.

Becky doesn't want kids, and she's asexual, and I don't have a problem with either of those things, so our wedding night is spent just talking and being together while we unpack Becky's things.

We're interrupted by a knock on the door.

When I open it, I'm knocked out cold.

~.~

When I awaken, I see my dear, poor wife tied to our bed, her wrists and ankles bound and mouth taped shut.

I discover my hands (both sets) are tied behind my back, my ankles are tied together and my mouth is taped shut, and, judging by the smell, it's duct tape.

"Well, well, well. My victims have awakened." A human man removes the tape from my mouth and I'm able to speak.

"Who are you, and what do you want with us?" I ask.

"It's not what I want with you, Randall Boggs. It's what I want with your dear wife."

"Leave. My wife. Alone."

"Oh, I don't think I will. You see, ten years ago, she broke my heart. And now I'm exacting my revenge for her doing that to me."

"Look, I know what it's like to hold a grudge, pal, but just let it go. What I suspect you'll be doing to her isn't worth it."

"Oh, so you're saying your wife isn't worth anything?"

"You're twisting my words. Who are you, anyway?"

"I'm her ex-boyfriend. That's who I am. Now, keep your mouth shut while I have a little fun with your wife, or I'll make her pay the price. And don't even think about looking away."

I gulp as my wife's ex goes over to her and starts…violating her.

Her screams of agony are heartbreaking, and they cause a blackout in the building.

"Stop screaming so I can see what I'm doing!"

I hear a slap, and my poor Becky starts crying. The power comes back on, and her ex gets back to what he was doing.

After he finishes doing what he was doing – aka hurting my poor wife – he kicks me where the sun doesn't shine.

And then he leaves.

I don't know how he found us, but…oh, gosh, if he ever gets near her again, I'll make him pay.

Mike and Sullivan are supposed to come over to help us finish unpacking.

I just hope they get here as soon as possible.

~.~

"Hello? Randall? Becky? Are you here?"

"We're in here, Sullivan!" I call out. Over the past hour, I've tried – and failed – to undo the bindings on my wrists. My wife's sobs haven't lessened, and I don't blame her.

Sullivan opens the bedroom door and he and Mike are shocked at what they see: two battered and bruised people.

"What happened here?" Mike asks.

"Not now, Mikey. Right now, just untie me so I can get to my wife."

Mike unties me and I immediately stumble over to my wife and untie her bindings.

"Oh, my sweetheart. My precious, precious sweetheart. I'm here. I'm here. Oh, honey, I'm so so sorry he put you through that."

"So, he got away?" Mike asks.

"Mike, not now." Sullivan says.

My wife begins to sob again, and she starts hyperventilating.

"Baby. Baby, look at me. We have to get you to a human doctor. Can Sullivan – Sulley – carry you? I promise, honey, he won't hurt you. And I won't leave you for a single second."

She nods and Sulley gingerly picks her up. We race to Monsters, Inc. and get through Becky's door.

Luckily, her parents aren't home, so they don't have to see their precious daughter like this.

We get to the ER and people are scared of us, which was to be expected, but I immediately tell the receptionist in whispers what had occurred.

"You can…you can stay with your wife while we examine her, sir."

"Thank you."

We head to a trauma room and Becky's examined first since her injuries are far more serious than my own.

When they finish examining her, they run some tests…the jerk didn't use protection, and there's a possibility she'll become pregnant.

Which, if she does, I'll gladly accept this baby as my own…but it's up to Becky if she keeps the baby or not.

After my injuries are taken care of, we're given a room to stay in for further observation.

I hold my wife close that night as she sobs in my arms, terrified she'll be attacked again.

I can only hope the guy is caught and put in prison forever.

The next day, we're released and able to go back home to the monster world.

I know that, no matter what, Becky and I will be able to get through this.

She's plagued with night terrors of that terrible, terrible day, and it takes all my willpower to not wake her up, as that would frighten her more.

When she does wake up, she clings to me.

Can't say I blame her.
