Inside an empty warehouse, a truck pulled up. There were over a dozen men standing there, all armed. As the truck came to a stop, a man stepped forward and than banged on the truck. Three men stepped out of the back, and begin taking out military weapon crates and placing them on the ground. Meanwhile, the other men are taking rounds around the warehouse. One of the men was passing by a dark, empty room as something catches his eye. At the corner of the room, there was something there. He went in, tried to get a closer look, as he got closer he saw what looked like the size of a man but something was off.
"Who are you?" The man asked.
But there was no response. The man became uncomfortable and more than a little unsettled, he stepped forward and now he could see the figure's jaw; it had small but noticeable facial hair but something was wrong, it looked like it didn't belong to a living person, it looked somewhat rotting. Suddenly the figure shifted its weight in the most unnatural way.
"What the-"
Back down, the men opened the crates to find guns. They looked military grade, the weapons were being checked by who appeared to be their boss. As they inspected the last gun, they picked up a briefcase and were about to hand it over to the men but then they heard a scream. They all looked around to see where the noise came from. One of them went to the upper floor and found the man dangling in the dark room with tears in his eyes.
"Dude, what happened to you?!" He asked.
The man didn't respond, but continuously whispered something on repeat. The man than screamed for the others, but then a quite whisper came into his ear,
"They can't hear you."
He quickly turned back to see no one was there, he thought he was hallucinating until he turned back to see his friend gone. He raised his weapon and took cover behind a wall but then he felt his heart drop, as he felt someone's cold breath from over him.
The people were taking their rounds, then suddenly the lights went off. The people suddenly became worried, they began looking around in panic, one of them turned on his lighter and looked around and saw that some of the crates were missing. They took out their flashlights and began searching for the missing crates. The men on the truck got on to leave but the truck won't start, as if it were jammed. One of the men walked, looking for the men and the guns, something else caught his eye: there was something on the wall illuminated by the moonlight by the window next to it, it looked like a metal boomerang but in the shape of a bird, like a bat of sorts. He went closer to it to inspect it but as he got closer to it, a hand burst through the window and grabbed his mouth, and pulled him out with great force.
This caught the attention of the other men, they came and found a completely shattered window with little else of value. Now, the men were frightened, one of the men dropped his gun and ran off screaming, "OH, SCREW THIS, I'M OUT!" While the rest gathered around and circled each other. As they walked by, something was watching them from the dark.
The three men were checking what was wrong with their truck, one of the men was tired and began patrolling the surrounding area. As he headed off into the dark, he thought he saw something moving above him, he took out his rifle and his flashlight and began searching the area. He was nervous, and anything too big would've made him loose balance immediately. Suddenly, a bat came flying towards him, as he began wailing his arms around aimlessly, and fell to the ground as it flew away. four men gathered around and saw him frantically breathing, after catching his breath he assured them that it was just a bat. They were all frustrated and as they left, he got up to continue but as he looked up, he saw him towering over him, looking down upon him.
The remaining men were getting tired until they realized that most of them are gone. There were over a dozen at first but now they can't find anyone around here. They all headed down towards the truck but found no one there, they had all vanished. They also noticed that all the crates were gone, and so were the briefcases. They looked around and then there was a huge explosion from behind them, they all turned and saw the guns blown to pieces. As they looked upon it in horror, a monstrous figure descended on the ground with great speed with it's wings wrapped around it. All they saw were it's wings that wrapped around his entire body and his ears that looked more like horns. The men screamed, directed aim but all their guns were now jammed. They all fell back as the figure stood up, it looked over 10 foot tall, it opened it's eyes to reveal two glowing lifeless orbs looking back at them. Fear struck them, one of them even wet his pants. The others got up, their hands shaking but they grabbed their knives anyway. The figure stood their motionless, no change in position like a statue. They noticed this and one of them approached it to inspect it but it grabbed him and shoved him to the ground and then landed on him as he went unconscious. The other men watched in horror, it lunged upon them and pinned two of them on the ground, as the other man ran to help his friends, he was hit in the stomach by its limb (He couldn't tell which one), as he fell to the ground and the other men looked at each other, sharing glares. As the figure slowly gets up, he casts a shadow on the men. The man on the ground gets up and approaches him, but this time with rage and anger instead of fear. The creature slowly turns around to face the man, but as the man gets close, the creature within a blink of an eye spreads his wings wide and wraps it around him, completely engulfing him in it. The remaining men quickly get up to run but the other man trips and falls to the ground, as the creature points his finger, he starts getting dragged to it. The final man looks for something, anything but finds nothing. He falls on his knees and looks up to see the creature as it grabs him and flies up.
The man slowly opens his eyes, he feels rain pouring on his face. He looks around, his arms are tired and all around he feels paralyzed.
"You're awake." Says a voice, it felt cold and emotionless.
He gathered enough strength to lift his head off the ground and on the edge of his feet the creature stood. It took two steps forward, grabbed him by the collar and lifted him up.
"I'm going to ask you some questions, answer them correct I let you go; lie to me, and no one will prepare you for the pain you will feel." It said, he felt fear run up his body, he was panicking but gathered enough strength to speak up.
"Al-al-r-right." He said, stuttering. "B-but o-on one co-condition, you let me g-go, o-okay?"
"Alright, now bark!"
"Wha-what do y-you want to k-know?"
"Tell me, Sal Maroni is pushing into Falcone territory, less than two months ago that wasn't allowed."
"So? Falcone is in jail, what else do you th-" He was cut off.
"Don't scream with me! Maroni was a close ally of the Falcones, and received close payments and profited massively from the drug trade. Why turn his back on him?"
"I don't fricking know. There must be some sort of power struggle between these two."
"Then the shipments he's receiving must belong to neither, but the thugs here work for Falcone."
"They used to work for Falcone, we were recently grouped together with these guys. We just got on this trade business and we were only a part of two other shipments at the docks."
"Where were your meetings held?"
"Near the place where a trade mission which was supervised by Falcone! We were given orders by a guy who came and promised us money and told us to do work for our new boss-"
"Who's your new boss now? Is he a rival of Falcone?"
"We don't know who he is but we know that he recently held a meeting with Falcone's kid and it didn't end very nicely for little Alberto."
"Give me your boss' name!"
"I told you, I don't know!"
"YOU'RE LYING!"
The creature grabs his ankles and lifts his off the ground and hangs him over the edge, the man is now terrified, as he looks down he sees that he is on the top of a building. The creature constantly shakes its hand only for the man's absolute horror. He screams on top of his lungs but none could hear his cries. The creature finally puts him down on solid ground, than grabs his throat and demands from him, rage in its voice,
"I'm going to ask you again, WHO. ARE. YOU. WORKING. FOR?"
"I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING! LEAVE ME ALONE." The man starts sobbing uncontrollably, the creature grabs his collar and thrusts him off the ground, close to its face.
"I'm going to ask you one last time, who is your boss?"
"LET ME GO!" The man answers, still sobbing.
"Wrong answer."
It raises its arm and before he can land the finishing blow, the man screams,
"WAIT! I have o-one t-th-thing. The man hi-he goes by a pseudonym by e-everyone, t-they call him the Penguin."
"See, that wasn't too hard."
The creature walks towards the edge of the building and its grip starts to loosen around his collar. Fear fills his again, he yells,
"BUT YOU SAI-" he gets cut off.
"I lied."
It lets go, and the man descends to the ground. He falls, and is out unconscious. The building wasn't that high up to cause major injuries but he won't walk for another few months.
In the distance, sirens start turning up. The Gotham Police pulls up at the warehouse. Jim Gordon and his partner detective Harvey Bullock step out and look into the warehouse. Inside they find the destroyed guns, and all the thugs inside a net with a note attached on it.
