Unwelcome Guests
It was a nice summer day. Fantine's responsibility, well one that Asimov gave her, was to let Gordon out to make sure the lawn got mowed. Gordon was a new electric lawnmower, grey with green accents.
Fantine pressed the garage door with her snout. The lawnmower grumbled as he inched forward.
"What time is it?" he asked.
Fantine perched on a small shelf. "Well, it's 7 o'clock. It's going to get real hot today."
Gordon approached the garden gate. "All right..."
Fantine fluttered off the shelf, headed towards the garden.
The garage door was wide open. Debbie smiled. She slowly left the bushes, trying not to attract attention.
"The coast is clear, come on in," she said.
It had rained that morning, leaving a mud puddle beside the bush.
Debbie and Levi had to go through it in order to reach the door.
"Let's see what we can salvage," Debbie said.
She slithered through the open garage door. Levi pushed the door open a little wider so Aether and Oracle could enter.
Gordon coughed up some grass. He and Fantine pushed through the garden gate.
"Okay, we're all done cutting the grass," the small fan cheered.
Gordon wheeled towards the garage. He glanced at a suspicious streak of mud on the concrete. Or was it three? one regular and two from what looked like vacuum wheels?
"Is that supposed to be here?"
Fantine stared at it. "I dunno."
