Bond
This bond that bound them together, this bond which had existed since long before her birth and which was to last forever, was now broken.
Akito had felt it deep in herself. This loss, this emptiness. And she knew the Junishi had felt it, too. It was the start of her new life, as Shigure had told her. He had given her the choice. The choice to be with him and start all over again. The choice to be a new Akito.
She walked along the halls of the main estate to where Shigure was waiting for her. The Junishi had left. She wanted to apologize, but she could not. After all the atrocities she had done, she knew a simple apologize would not be enough. She still had a lot of work to do and she was ready. She had had a second chance where she could finally be who she really wanted to be.
She sat down next to Shigure. She needed him more than anyone. And yet she had been scared. Now that the bond between them was broken, nothing would stop him from leaving her. After all, he had always been distant, even cruel to her, as if their bond had no effect on him. But she was wrong. In fact, they had just been two children who hurt each other.
Now it was all over and they could be together again. They loved each other and that was all that mattered to Akito.
The bond that had united the Junishi and their God since the dawn of time was broken, but a new bond had been created between Akito and Shigure. An indestructible bond that was theirs alone.
