Seth pulled up to Jessica's house at 11:15 at night. They had just arrived from the town's annual potluck dinner. It had been an interesting night, to say the least, for both of them. It had been a full month since Mort caught them kissing in the kitchen. However, even though they agreed to stay friends, Seth especially couldn't keep his mind off of it. He got nervous around her. He was worried he would say something that he couldn't take back. He was worried that telling Jessica how he felt could result at an end of their friendship. He had forgotten he left the engine on the car and just sat there.

"Seth?" He distantly heard. He realized it was Jessica calling him from his daze. He came back and turned to Jessica and looked her in the eyes. "Are you okay Seth?" She tilted her head. Seth looked down at the floor of the car then back up at Jessica. "You've been kind of distant all night. Is something wrong? You know you can tell me anything." Seth looked nervous to

Jessica. She could sense he was tense.

Why can she always tell when something is on my mind? Why is it she always knows when something is wrong? He wondered. He hesitated before telling her the truth.

"This...entire night Jessica. All I could think about was...you." He told her. Jessica looked down at his hand which was slightly shaking from nervousness. A look of worry crept into her face. "Jessica, I'm really sorry, but…..I'm not going to pretend things haven't changed since our kiss. It made me realize a lot about you, and me. It made me realize things that I have known for a long time but have been avoiding." She looked at him and became startled. She didn't really know what to say. Seth looked out the windshield. "I just can't wrap my head around the fact for years I've been….." he stuttered and looked back at her, "in love with you." Jessica gasped. "And I know this whole thing isn't fair to you. Believe me, I know it. I know I'm being selfish." He paused as he felt a lump in his throat, swallowed it, and continued. "If you want to stay friends, then I shouldn't stand in the way because I just want you to be happy." A tear escaped Jessica's eyes. "But….I just want to be happy too….and… ...that just can't happen without you, Jessica." "Seth." She whispered. Multiple tears were streaming down both of their faces. And by this time Jessica was caressing his hands. They looked deeply into each other's eyes both still crying as they did. Seth reached up to her shoulder with his hand and gently stroked it. He gradually moved it up to her neck along with the other one to the other side of her neck. He slowly leaned in and gently touched his lips to hers.

He pulled away after a few seconds and looked into her eyes. Seth moved one of his hands from her neck and wiped the tears from her cheeks.

"I love you." He whispered. Jessica reached up to his face and tilted her head slightly.

"I love you too." She said right before she quickly leaned in and kissed him fully. Seth closed his eyes and kissed back as he wrapped his hand around the back of her head. Jessica slowly moved her hands across his shoulders and his arms and placed them on top of his hands. Seth took one of her hands and held it as they backed up against her side of the car. The kisses became more intense and Seth slid her sweater off her arms. He set it on the seat behind him and then Jessica pulled away.

"What's wrong?" He said concerned.

"Don't you think it would be more comfortable inside?" Jessica inquired.

"Yeah, you're right. It's best not to do it in front of your house in the middle of the street." He chuckled as he got up off of her and handed her the sweater. Jessica fixed her hair and they both made their way inside her house.
