Chapter 5
"Viox!" Kane yelled rushing over to her, but Kaeya shoved the other out of his way, "Move it." He spat at the male as he walked over to Viox, "Shit, she's fainted. Smelling salts." He pointed at Violet, who dashed off towards the kitchen sink where they stored their first aid kit. Kane looked offended as he had stumbled, "You didn't need to do that man!" Kane said as Kaeya rolled his eyes, "You were about to touch someone in a delicate situation." He commented as Violet handed Kaeya the smelling salts, "Here." She said as Kaeya took them and cracked them open, waving them under Viox's nose. Viox's eyes twitched as she groaned, "Violet?" She called out as her sister kneeled next to her, "I'm right here, hold on." She said as Viox glared at her, "A warning next time." She said roughly as Violet chuckled weakly, "I forgot?" She replied as Viox slowly stood up, "You forgot?!" She waved her arm over at Childe and Kaeya, "This is forgetting?!" She asked. As Violet sighed, "Look it's only for a couple hours." She said as Viox sighed, turning towards Kane, "I'm so sorry Kane for their interruption, what were You asking?" She said softly, as Kane cleared his throat, "It's best said in private…" he smiled warmly, "I'll ask you tomorrow, have fun at their concert, okay?" He said as he gave Viox a small hug, feeling the heated glare digging into his head from a very upset Kaeya. He pulled away and cupped Viox's face and giving her a small forehead kiss. That's when he looked over at Kaeya, who was literally glaring daggers at him, "Alright I'm off." Kane said as he walked out of the home, giving Violet a quick hug before heading out.
"So Viox and Kane?" Childe said with a hand on his hip, "What a cute couple you two make." He amused as Viox sent a glare his way, "I don't like him like that." She said tightly as she walked into the living room. "He's our childhood best friend," Violet told Childe softly. Childe looks at Violet with a raised eyebrow. "We have known each other since we were kids, he's like a brother to us, he's been with us through thick and thin" Violet explained with a far away look in her eyes. Childe looked at her with a questioning look causing Violet to shake her head. Kaeya crossed his arms, "I see…" he said softly. As Violet looked at him, "Do you? You seem like the type to jump from bed to bed." She hissed, as Childe cleared his throat, "Now now, let's not fight." He said trying to calm the two, as Kaeya left the kitchen to the living room as he left Childe and Violet alone. "He has…" Violet huffed as Childe looked at her, "He's also stopped." He replied back. Violet shrugged, "I took my time looking you all up, Childe the youngest of the band, cute, funny, and can't do a thing wrong, currently single. Diluc, not much is said about him, he stays quiet for all interviews. Zhongli, the cool and collected, the eldest of the band, he is often seen drinking tea and telling stories. Kaeya, the playboy, and the second eldest, he's often seen with a woman hanging off his arm, but publicly announced that he was no longer looking for a relationship. Which could mean he's only looking for flings." She said as Childe moved closer to her, before the woman had time to react, she was trapped once more between Childe's arms, as he leaned down, their noses barely touching, "Careful Princess. You might go digging in the wrong areas, and I can't have your eyes tainted by Press." He whispered as Violet's heart stuttered in her chest, the air from her lungs got sucked out of her. As she took in the scent of his cologne. It smelt like sandalwood and cinnamon, it was addicting. "You need to back up." She whispered softly, her hands coming up to touch his chest. As Childe smirked, "Your body says differently Princess." He replied quietly as he leaned in more. Violet could practically taste the man's cinnamon toothpaste that lingered on his lips, the urge to nip his bottom lip was tempting. Then he moved away. Violet felt her heart give a small squeeze as he moved, "Come along now, we have to head out to beat the crowds." He said in a cheerful manner as he walked into the living room. Violet placed a shaky hand in her chest and took a sharp breath. She was so close. She quickly shook her head, she needed to focus.
"So...Viox." Kaeya said as he watched the woman organizing the large bookshelves, she seemed in a panic state, "Are you normally this…" he tried to find the right words as Viox whipped her gaze towards the blue haired man, "Look, whatever your name is, I'm so-" "Kaeya."
Viox blinked, "I'm sorry?" She asked as Kaeya looked at her, "My name is Kaeya." He said, "You know it now." He looked at her, as Viox glared, "Alright then, Kaeya, Look I'm so sorry that you've decided to legitimately stalk me and think that we're going to be a thing, but that's not going to happen." She said as she placed her handful of books down, as Kaeya got up,
"Right here, right now, I put the offer out. I don't want to chase you down. I know you see it! You run with me, And I can cut you free, Out of the drudgery and walls you keep in!"
Kaeya sang softly, as he looked at Viox, who huffed at him, rolling her eyes. He chuckled,
"So trade that typical for something colorful. And if it's crazy, live a little crazy. You can play it sensible, a queen of conventional, Or you can risk it all and see!"
Viox turned her back towards him, as he grabbed her hip and twisted her back towards him, pulling her into a dance. Viox glared as she twisted out of his grip, only for him to snap her back and give her a small dip.
"Don't you wanna get away from the same old part you gotta play! 'Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride! It'll take you to the other side! 'Cause you can do like you do, Or you can do like me? Stay in the cage, or you'll finally take the key! Oh, damn! Suddenly you're free to fly! It'll take you to the other side"
Viox pushed him away, her eyes were reading anger,
"Okay, my friend, you want to cut me in? Well I hate to tell you, but it just won't happen!"
She picked up her books once more to place on the shelves once more, Kaeya leaned on some of the shelves she needed,
"So thanks, but no, I think I'm good to go! 'Cause I quite enjoy the life you say I'm trapped in!"
She spat out as she shoved him aside, her glare not breaking as she shelved the books, Kaeya rolled his eyes. Viox huffed,
"Now I admire you, and that whole show you do. You're onto something, really it's something, But I live among the swells, and I don't have to pick up popcorn kernels, I'll have to leave that up to you!"
She twisted towards the other end of the living room as she felt her hand grabbed once more, as she was pulled against Kaeya once more,
"Don't you know that I'm okay with this uptown part I get to play? 'Cause I got what I need and I don't want to take the ride. I don't need to see the other side. So go and do like you do
I'm good to do like me. Ain't in a cage, so I don't need to take the key. Oh, damn! Can't you see I'm doing fine
I don't need to see the other side!"
She pushed against his chest as she pulled out of his grasp, Kaeya sighed,
"Now is this really how you like to spend your days? Loneliness and misery, and flowers and books?"
He asked her, as Viox crossed her arms,
"If I were mixed up with you, I'd be the talk of the town. Disgraced and disowned, another one of the clowns."
She rolled her eyes as he frowned with her answer. "You really want to just stay here? Forever?" He asked her as Viox nodded, "This is my safe place that will never change, feelings do." She stated as Kaeya glared, "Sometimes they don't." He replied coldly as Viox pushed past him to place more books on the shelves, "They always do." She said quietly. As Childe walked into the living room, Violet followed a couple minutes later, as Kaeya took one last glance towards Viox as Childe announced they were heading out.
