Disappointed by a lack of external weaponry on the blimp, such as a laser cannon, Nega-Brain set the stolen craft on auto-pilot, before pacing about on the main deck, his mind focused on info gathering and attack plans. His schemes for world domination had been constantly foiled in the past by those accursed WOOHP agents, Hope, Daisy and Cindy, but he had always managed to escape their grasp. And yet, those other three humans whom he encountered earlier had bested him in battle and seemed to have far more jetpack experience than the trio of teenage females he had faced time and again.
Nega-Brain pondered on the circumstances of his capture. Who were those three girls and where did they get all their combat abilities from? Crossing to the main computer, he quickly hacked the system and began to search through the WOOHP database, which informed him that the foes in red, green and yellow were some of the organisation's top agents, and also happened to be the mothers of the other three he crossed swords with before.
"But why so young in appearance?" He thoughtfully crossed to the window and gazed flatly down at the buildings beneath the blimp as he drifted slowly towards his destination. "Time travel, perhaps."
If this was true, then Nega-Brain had a potential chance for conquest here. Eliminating the source of the present day younglings could very well cause their byproducts to vanish. In fact, the time travellers' very presence in this time period might cause them all to disappear, merely by disrupting the time-stream.
Far from illogical revenge that could risk capture, Nega-Brain regarded all this as an intriguing experiment. And if there was a time machine they sought to remedy their predicament, he would claim it for himself, a crowning piece of tech with limitless possibilities. It would also provide him with a means of escape and survival, if this timeline did indeed threaten to collapse because of the time paradox that was occurring.
"There's no need to delay, thanks to my superior intelligence and power," he thought decisively as the silent vehicle slowed over a small building in Malibu, casting an ominous shadow over a very convenient skylight.
"Oh, poor thing," Doctor Alex Cassera-Smith said soothingly, using a handheld white device that performed an internal scan of a beagle's foreleg, then showed results on a monitor.
Being a top professional vet now, Alex wore a white vet's coat over her beige top and blue jeans, still in top physical shape, despite being in her 40s, her wavy black hair now grown to reaching past her shoulders. The sedated dog lay on a veterinarian exam table, and his caretaker switched her device for one that helped stabilize the injury with a small hum.
"I'll never get over how far medical tech has come in recent years," she thought with a smile.
Alex really loved her job, as did her husband, Ray, and the Veterinary Hospital where they worked was one of the most successful in the country. It could be difficult at times, especially with Alex being a WOOHP agent as well, but the happily married couple felt that it was all worth it, especially with their daughter, goddaughters, and the rest of their friends in their lives.
It had actually been the spies' husbands' idea that the three couples lived together, as the men recognised the deep bond between Alex, Clover and Sam, and they had no wish to break them apart. Thus, they all lived happily together as one big family, and raising their daughters together made that bond stronger, as Hope, Cindy and Daisy considered themselves to be effectively sisters.
Pulling herself out of her brief moment of reverie, Alex focused on her sleeping patient. After a beep signified that the device she was using had finished, she stowed it, then pressed a button on a drawer to get a leg brace. She had just finished putting the brace in place, when a crash of glass breaking made her jump in shock.
She dashed out of the exam room to the waiting room, and saw most of the ceiling's former large skylight was now in pieces on the carpet. The patient's owner, a brunette woman in her 40s, thankfully looked unharmed, and was pressed against the far wall, along with the other pet owners, who looked fearful and confused.
"Doctor Alex!" the dog's owner cried, clearly in a state of understandable terror.
In the same moment Alex spotted the woman, she heard Ray yelling. Whirling around, she was horrified to see him being pulled to the ceiling by a gale force vacuum. Alex made a distressed sound as she spotted a nozzle at the skylights's frame, which sucked Ray in and then angled towards her, pulling her up as well.
"A WOOHP vacuum? Why? What the heck is going on?" she thought in bewilderment, before flying up into the tube after her husband.
Across town, in the offices of the world-renowned fashion business, 'Timeless Chic', the company's leading designer was busy in her office checking some new designs, while her husband was making some important phone calls in the adjoining room. Blaine, who was dressed in a blue long sleeve shirt and black jeans, had just wrapped a video call with the rep for the L.A. professional volleyball team. As he finished the call, he ran his hands over his elaborately spiky hair and grinned.
"Honeybun," he called to the connecting office. "Nailed it."
He finished some typing on the keyboard of his computer, then joined Clover in the other room. His wife smiled, still as attractive as she was twenty years ago, currently attired in a coral-coloured dress and knee-length black leather boots, with a silver bead necklace dangling from around her neck. Blaine kissed Clover's cheek and sat on a stool beside her as she studied some activewear designs she had been working on.
"Thanks, honey," she said, looking over at him with an impish smile. "And thanks for handling that business stuff. It sure gave me a chance to work on these new designs."
He nodded, then looked at her designs. "Hm, I like these. Let me guess, you want me to pick my favourite," he said, thinking.
"Ah, you read my mind," said Clover lovingly, as she and Blaine had a quick kiss on the lips. "So, which one do you think works best?"
But before Blaine could answer, the nearby wide window shattered at that moment, and a large vacuum tube snaked its way into the room. It pointed towards the startled couple, pulling at them with an inescapable force of air suction, before they even had a chance to resist. Clover and Blaine held each other and yelled in fright as they were pulled towards and into the tube, their voices echoing as they realised that they were being abducted!
As they buffeted along the tube, Clover and Blaine accidentally clouted their heads together and both lost consciousness. When they woke up, they discovered they had each been sealed in a containment pod, and as they strained against their restraints, they could see that Alex and Ray had been sealed in similar pods next to theirs.
"Clover, Blaine! Are you guys okay?" asked Alex in concern, her voice muffled by the glass dome covering her head.
"Just about," answered Clover, "but what's going on?"
"I don't know, but something tells me WOOHP isn't running the show here," said Ray, his glasses getting a bit steamed up inside his pod.
Sure enough, a door on the other side of the room opened up, and a sinister figure strode in.
"Nega-Brain!" exclaimed Clover. "How did you break loose?"
"That is no concern of yours," stated Nega-Brain. "You only need to know that you are my prisoners, and that neither your daughters or your younger selves will stand against me this time."
"Um, 'younger selves'?" asked Alex sweetly, feigning ignorance. "We have no idea what you're talking about."
"Your attempts at deceit are pointless," said Nega-Brain. "I am aware that past versions of you and your friend, Sam, have been transported to this time and you are most likely sheltering them."
"Then you also probably know that by now they'll have recovered and will be planning to rescue us, once they realise what you've done," said Blaine defiantly.
"Yes, and with our daughters helping them, you won't stand a chance," added Ray, trying to sound braver than he felt.
"That is where you are mistaken," said Nega-Brain, his eyes glowing more intense than before. "The four of you are the bait for a trap I have prepared, and soon, not only will the spies be destroyed, but I will possess the means to invade time itself!"
