Chapter 3: Friendship Is Magic-Part 2
Previously on MLP FiM: The Hero of Equestria. . .
(Y/N) had received a strange dream by an unknown force and it instructs him that he along with his friends need to save Equestria from the Mare in the Moon, Nightmare Moon. (Y/N) meets Twilight Sparkle and her dragon assistant Spike and gives them a tour in Ponyville while meeting the rest of his friends along the way. (Y/N) and Twilight both tell each other about how they believe Nightmare Moon will return and they both agree to help each other out. Then as the stars crash on the moon, Nightmare Moon reveals herself to all of Equestria and vows to bring eternal night to it. However, (Y/N) was willing to stand to Nightmare Moon and protect his friends and now he is about to battle Nightmare Moon one on one. Will (Y/N) and his friends stop Nightmare Moon once and for all before all of Equestria is doomed for good?
Now back to where we left off. . .
(Y/N) and Nightmare Moon are glaring at each other as everypony watches in shock of what's happening, especially the Mane 6.
Applejack: Is (Y/N) really going to fight Nightmare Moon?!
Twilight Sparkle: It would appear so! Is he insane?! I mean, I know he's an alicorn and all, but he shouldn't do this!
Fluttershy: Will he be okay?
Rainbow Dash: Come on Fluttershy! This is (Y/N) we're talking about here. GO (Y/N)! Whoop her flank!
Pinkie Pie: Yeah! Show that big meanie that she doesn't with the alicorn of Ponyville.
Rarity: I've never seen him do anything so. . . brave and daring.
Nightmare Moon: You are an interesting individual if you think you can defy me.
(Y/N): Ponyville has been a wonderful place I lived in ever since last month! I won't let you conquer it!
Nightmare Moon: You alicorn foal! Do you really believe you can defeat me?
(Y/N): Maybe not. But I'll protect everyone even if it means I'm costing my life for it!
Nightmare Moon then blasts a laser beam at (Y/N) and he then used his own magic which covered his whole body in his aura color and he made a shield to protect himself from the beam. After the beam deflected off (Y/N)'s shield, he then shot his own beam at Nightmare Moon, but she dodged it. Nightmare Moon then creates several strikes of lightning bolts to hit (Y/N) and as he puts up another shield to defend himself again, the lightning breaks his shield and (Y/N) is knocked back several feet.
Nightmare Moon: While I wish that I could still punish you for defying me, I have my own matters that I need to attend to. I'll make sure all of Equestria stays night for eternity for good. *laughs evilly*
(Y/N): Darn it! She got away!
The Mane 6 then ran up to (Y/N) as both Pinkie and Fluttershy hugged him tightly for a second before letting him go.
Rarity: Darling, that was scary! Are you okay?
(Y/N): Yeah I'm fine!
Twilight Sparkle: (Y/N), that was dangerous! You could've died! Why did you decide to fight Nightmare Moon?
(Y/N): I couldn't just sit there and do nothing. Besides, I didn't want anypony around to get hurt at all.
Twilight Sparkle: I see. . . anyways follow me back to the library! I need to find out what the Elements of Harmony are.
(Y/N) nods as he follows Twilight back to the Golden Oak Library with the rest following.
Back at the Golden Oak Library, Twilight puts an unconscious Spike to bed not wanting him to get involved with Nightmare Moon. She then rushes back to the library as both her and (Y/N) were tossing books around for the information they were looking for.
Twilight Sparkle: Find anything?
(Y/N): No. Not yet.
Twilight Sparkle: Elements, elements, elements. . . Ugh! How can I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?
Rainbow Dash: What are you two talking about? What "Elements of Harmony?" How do you two know Nightmare Moon anyways?
(Y/N) and Twilight looked at each other before (Y/N) decided to explain.
(Y/N): This morning, I had a dream. And apparently Nightmare Moon is actually the younger sister of Princess Celestia.
Twilight Sparkle: Wait, really?!
(Y/N): Yeah. That's the information I was given anyway. Apparently a long time ago, Princess Celestia along with her younger sister used to rule Equestria together, but one day the younger sister resented Princess Celestia out of jealousy when everyone paid more attention to her. She then refused to lower the moon one day and she turned into Nightmare Moon. Princess Celestia tried to reason with her, but it was no use. Princess Celestia then reluctantly had to use the Elements of Harmony like Twilight said to banish her to the moon for a thousand years and now she's returned.
Fluttershy: That's horrible.
(Y/N): I know. I said the same thing. Twilight, what are the Elements of Harmony you've been mentioning?
Twilight Sparkle: Some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop Nightmare Moon, but I don't know exactly what they are, where to find them; I don't even know exactly what they do!
Pinkie Pie: Found it! The Elements of Harmony, a reference guide.
Twilight pushed Pinkie away to confirm her search and it was the book she's been looking for.
Twilight Sparkle: How did you find that?!
Pinkie Pie: It was under "E"!
(Y/N): Oh! That explained why many of the books had the same letters on them.
Twilight took the book out and began to read it aloud for everypony to hear.
Twilight Sparkle: It's said that there are six known Elements of Harmony. Five of them are Kindness, Laughter, Loyalty, Honesty, and Generosity while the sixth element is unknown. Legends say that there used to be a seventh element of Harmony, but only one would be worthy of wielding it once all six elements are combined. The last known location was in the Castle of the Two Sisters in the Everfree Forest.
(Y/N): I'm coming with you!
Applejack: No! WE are comin' with you!
Twilight Sparkle: Wait, everypony, I appreciate the gestures, but this is something I need to do on my own. (Y/N), I know you promised that you'd help me, but I don't want to put you in harm's way.
(Y/N): Neither do I.
Twilight Sparkle: Huh?
(Y/N): I can't risk putting any of my friends' lives in danger. So that's why I- no, We will come with you. . . as a team.
Applejack: (Y/N) here is right. We ain't lettin' no friend of ours go into that place alone so we'll be stickin' with ya like a caramel on an apple.
Pinkie Pie: Especially if there's candy apples in there.
Everyone looked at Pinkie with confused looks.
Pinkie Pie: What? Those things are good.
(Y/N) rolled his eyes and smirked.
(Y/N): Who else, but Pinkie Pie.
The Mane 7 then arrives outside the entrance of the Everfree Forest.
(Y/N): So this is the Everfree Forest? (Thoughts) It kinda looks familiar.
Twilight Sparkle: Yes it is. The Castle of Two Sisters should be on the other side of the forest.
(Y/N): Alright then. Let's head out.
A few minutes later, the Mane 7 continue to walk through the Everfree Forest and reach a cliffside while everypony besides (Y/N) and Twilight were shaking which they noticed.
TwilightSparkle: So none of you have been in here before?
Rarity: Ugh, heavens no! Just look at it. It's so dreadful.
Applejack: And it ain't natural. Folks say it doesn't work the same as Equestria.
As the Mane 7 were busy, Nightmare Moon's mist seeped into the cliffside.
TwilightSparkle: What's that supposed to mean?
RainbowDash: Nopony knows. You know why?
Rainbow Dash said that in a creepy tone as it started to make Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Rarity shiver nervously.
Applejack: Quit it, Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash: Cause everypony who's ever come in has never come out!
(Y/N): *sarcastically* Oooh. So scary. So far there's really been nothing that's unnatural.
Then the ground rumbled which confused some of the ponies.
(Y/N): What was that?
Suddenly, there was a loud crash and the ground beneath the Mane 7 broke away as Nightmare Moon's mist flew away from the cliffside. Pinkie, Rarity, Applejack and Twilight tumble down the slope while screaming while (Y/N), Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy avoid the fall by flying with their wings.
Rainbow Dash: Fluttershy! (Y/N)! Quick, we have to help them!
(Y/N): Right!
Fluttershy: Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!
Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie, and Applejack scream as they fall down the slope which leads to a large drop off of a cliff. Rainbow Dash saves Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy saves Rarity, and (Y/N) saves Applejack, but Twilight kept sliding down the slope and she soon ended hanging off the edge of the cliff.
Twilight Sparkle: SOMEPONY HELP!
Applejack: (Y/N)! We need to save her!
(Y/N): Got it!
Both (Y/N) and Applejack landed in front of Twilight and grabbed her front legs to keep her from falling.
Twilight Sparkle: Applejack! (Y/N)! What do I do?!
Both Applejack and (Y/N) held her tightly before Applejack looked up and saw something and then looked back at Twilight.
Applejack: Let go.
Twilight Sparkle: Are you crazy?
Applejack: No I ain't. I promise you'll be safe.
Twilight Sparkle: That's not true!
(Y/N): Twilight, Applejack is telling the truth. Trust us. Let go and you'll be perfectly safe.
Twilight hesitated but nodded and let go of their hooves. At first, Twilight was screaming that she was falling, but she was quickly caught by both Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. They then carried her back to the ground where everypony else was.
(Y/N): Are you okay Twilight?
Twilight Sparkle: I'm fine. Thank you for asking.
(Y/N): Still that was weird.
Twilight Sparkle: What do you mean (Y/N)?
(Y/N): That cliff just broke out of nowhere. *gasps* Nightmare Moon! She's onto us.
Rarity: What do you mean darling?
(Y/N): She's onto our plan to get the Elements of Harmony and use them against her. We need to hurry to the castle quickly.
The Mane 6 nodded in agreement and rushed through however Twilight stayed behind for a second to ask (Y/N) something.
Twilight Sparkle: Hey (Y/N).
(Y/N): What is it?
Twilight Sparkle: Did Applejack know that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy would save me?
(Y/N): Yeah. And that's the thing I like the most about Applejack. She's always honest and would never tell a lie to her family and friends, even if it's a good or a bad thing.
Twilight thought about Applejack for a second and smiled.
Twilight Sparkle: I see. . .
(Y/N): Come on, let's go catch up with the rest of our friends.
Twilight nodded as they both ran ahead to catch up with the rest of the Mane 7.
Nightmare Moon's mist watched the Mane 7 leave and quickly flew ahead to find the next peril to prevent the Mane 7 from getting closer to the Elements of Harmony.
Rainbow Dash: And once Pinkie and Rarity were saved, whoosh. . . me and Fluttershy loop de-loop around and WHAM! Caught you in the nick of time!
(Y/N): Yeah yeah Dash. We were all there when it happened, no need to- *gasps*
The Mane 7 saw ahead of them a creature that was a hybrid between a lion and scorpion appeared before the Mane 7.
Twilight Sparkle: A manticore! We have to get past him!
The manticore whose name is Manny Roar tried to attack the Mane 7, but Rarity kicked him in the face with her hind legs.
Rarity: Take that you ruffian!
Manny Roar then gave out a loud roar which messed up Rarity's mane.
Rarity: My mane!
(Y/N) was about to join the rest in attacking Manny Roar, but Fluttershy got his attention.
Fluttershy: Wait.
(Y/N): Huh. Why? Do you notice something?
Fluttershy nods her head and they both look to see that the rest of them were still attacking Manny Roar, but (Y/N) yelled out to get their attention.
(Y/N): EVERYPONY STOP!
Everypony hears (Y/N) and they look at him confused. (Y/N) turns to Fluttershy and gestures for her to go ahead. Fluttershy walks up to Manny Roar and he looks ready to attack Fluttershy. The other mares were about to step in, but (Y/N) puts his hoof out to stop them.
(Y/N): Fluttershy knows what she's doing. . . I hope.
Fluttershy grabbed Manny Roar's left paw with her hoof.
Fluttershy: There, there, it's okay.
Fluttershy inspected Manny Roar's left paw to reveal that there was a very thick thorn on it.
Fluttershy: Oh you poor, poor little baby.
Rainbow Dash: Little?!
This stunned everypony, but (Y/N) sweatdropped while letting out a nervous chuckle.
(Y/N): Okay. . . maybe not "little".
Everypony watches as Manny Roar gives Fluttershy a sad look.
Fluttershy: Now this might hurt for a second.
Fluttershy quickly pulled the thorn out of Manny Roar's paw and he roared and scooped Fluttershy towards his mouth.
Mane 6: Fluttershy!
However, there was no need to be worried as it revealed that Manny Roar wasn't eating her, but licking Fluttershy as he was grateful for her for removing the thorn out of his paw and he began to purr which made the Mane 6 sigh in relief and smile while Fluttershy giggles.
Fluttershy: Aw you're just a little ol' baby kitty, aren't you? Yes you are, yes you are.
A few seconds later Manny put Fluttershy down and decided to leave. He waved goodbye to Fluttershy and went on his way.
Twilight Sparkle: How did you know about the thorn?
Fluttershy: I didn't. Sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness.
Fluttershy fixed her mane which was a little messy from Manny Roar licking her earlier and Twilight turned towards (Y/N).
Twilight Sparkle: You weren't kidding when you said she was good with animals.
(Y/N): Fluttershy's kind to not only animals, but to everypony out there too. I reason I find her kind of cute just being herself.
Twilight Sparkle: I see. . .
The Mane 7 continue walking into the forest, however they didn't notice that the thorn that Fluttershy pulled out of Manny Roar's paw turned into purple mist and flew away.
The Mane 7 were continuing their journey through the forest.
Rarity: No. My eyes need a rest from all this icky muck.
The moon was then blocked by the cover of the trees, making everypony's vision pitch black.
(Y/N): Really?
Rarity: I didn't mean it literally!
While the Mane 7 were all busy trying to go through the darkness, Nightmare Moon's mist weaved around them and seeped into the trees.
Twilight Sparkle: That ancient ruin could be right in front of our faces and we wouldn't even know it.
Somepony then accidentally bumped into Twilight and it was Rarity.
Rarity: I didn't see you there, my apologies.
Rainbow Dash: Right here. . . guh!
Rainbow Dash then accidentally bumped into (Y/N).
(Y/N): Ow! That was me!
Rainbow Dash: Sorry! Sorry!
Applejack: Oh wait, I think I stepped in somethin'.
Fluttershy: *screams*
Applejack: Oh, it's just mud.
Soon everypony regained their vision slightly and everypony heard an ominous growl coming from one of the trees with a scary face on it making Applejack yell. Then more growls were heard as more trees then showed themselves all with scary faces and they were all growling at the Mane 7. The mares screamed and (Y/N) got in front of them to protect them in case anything tried to harm them. All of the mares were scared. . . except for Pinkie Pie as she is seen laughing and making silly faces at the trees surprising the Mane 6.
Twilight Sparkle: Pinkie, what are you doing?! Run!
(Y/N): Yeah! This could be dangerous!
Pinkie Pie: Oh everypony, don't you see?
Pinkie then began to do something none of the others were expecting at all. . .
She began to sing!
Pinkie Pie: When I was a little filly and the sun was going down.
Twilight Sparkle: Tell me she's not. . .
Pinkie Pie: The darkness and the shadows, they would always make me frown...
Rarity: She is.
(Y/N): Yep. . . she's singing all right.
Pinkie Pie: I'd hide under my pillow
From what I thought I saw
But Granny Pie said that wasn't the way
To deal with fears at all
Rainbow Dash: Then what is?
Pinkie Pie: She said, "Pinkie, you gotta stand up tall
Learn to face your fears
You'll see that they can't hurt you
Just laugh to make them disappear."
Ha! Ha! Ha!
Then as if by magic, the scary tree turned into a normal tree with no faces on them and even the darkness around them disappeared which made everypony gasp and then. . .
They started laughing!
Pinkie Pie: So, giggle at the ghostly
Guffaw at the grossly
Crack up at the creepy
Whoop it up with the weepy
Chortle at the kooky
Snortle at the spooky
And tell that big dumb scary face to take a hike and leave you alone and if he thinks he can scare you then he's got another thing coming and the very idea of such a thing just makes you wanna. . . hahahaha. . . heh. . .
Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuugh!
Soon all of the scary trees had disappeared and everypony was laughing themselves silly.
(Y/N): Pinkie. That was great! Thanks for the song!
Pinkie Pie: *giggles* Your welcome (Y/N). Sometimes we gotta smile and laugh through the even toughest and scariest of times!
Twilight then approached (Y/N) while smiling at Pinkie.
Twilight Sparkle: She sure knows how to keep everypony positive.
(Y/N): That's Pinkie Pie for you. Her energetic and happy-go-lucky personality is something not only me, but everypony loves as she will try her best to anypony as happy as they can.
After leaving the trees behind, the Mane 7 then came to a sudden stop at a wild river stream that was shallow, but the water was flowing at a fast pace.
Pinkie Pie: How are we gonna cross this?
Before anypony could answer, they heard and turned to a large, but lanky sea serpent named Steven Magnet who was missing half of his mustache and sobbing to himself.
Steven Magnet: *sobs* What a world, what a world.
Twilight Sparkle: Excuse me sir, why are you crying?
Steven Magnet: Well, I don't know. I was just sitting here, minding my own business, when this tacky little cloud of purple smoke just whisked past me and tore half of my beloved mustache clean off, and now I look simply horrid. *sobs*
He then went back to wailing as he slammed back into the water, creating a massive wave of water that soaked the Mane 7.
(Y/N): Does it grow back?
Steven Magnet: Yes, but it would probably take weeks to a month for it to grow back to normal and even then it wouldn't look the same.
Rainbow Dash: Oh, give me a break.
Applejack: That's what all the fuss is about?
Rarity: Why, of course it is. How can you be so insensitive? Oh, just look at him. Such lovely luminescent scales.
Steven Magnet: *sniffs* I know.
Rarity: And your expertly coiffed mane.
Steven Magnet: Oh, I know, I know.
Rarity: Your fabulous manicure.
Steven Magnet: *gasps* It's so true!
Rarity: All ruined without your beautiful mustache.
Steven Magnet: It's true, I'm hideous!
Rarity: I simply cannot let such a crime against fabulosity go uncorrected.
Before anypony could do anything, Rarity used her teeth to pull off one of Steven Magnet's scales which made him yelp.
Steven Magnet: What did you do that for?!
Rarity said nothing as she began brandishing the sharp end of the scale.
Twilight Sparkle: Rarity, what are you-
Rarity swipes the scale on something making everypony eyes shrink in shock and Steven Magnet faints. The thing that she cut was her tail leaving a short remainder of it. She then used her magic to pick up her cut-off tail and carefully tied it onto the remains of Steven Magnet's cut moustache and with magic, Steven Magnet's moustache is turned back to normal which he wakes up and notices the change in his moustache.
Steven Magnet: Oh-hohohoho! My mustache. How wonderful.
Rarity: You look smashing.
Twilight Sparkle: Oh, Rarity, your beautiful tail. . .
Rarity: Oh. It's fine, my dear. Short tails are in this season. Besides, it'll grow back.
Rainbow Dash: So would the moust-
Before Rainbow Dash could finish her sentence, (Y/N) hit her with his wing and shook his head slowly to silence her.
(Y/N): Even without your tail, you still look as fabulous as ever Rarity.
Rarity: *giggles* Why thank you darling.
Twilight then notices that the river stopped flowing rapidly and points out to it.
Twilight Sparkle: Look! We can cross now. Let's go. Ah!
Twilight Sparkle was startled as she found herself on a hump of Steven Magnet's long body.
Steven Magnet: Allow me.
Steven Magnet used his body to create a set of hump platforms so everypony didn't have to go in the water.
(Y/N): Thank you.
The Mane 7 crossed the waters and waved goodbye to Steven Magnet who swam away. Twilight then walks up to (Y/N).
Twilight Sparkle: I can't believe Rarity was generous enough to sacrifice her own tail for someone else.
(Y/N): Whenever someone needs something, Rarity always likes to give over a hundred percent of what they need. That's what makes her like a rare gem.
It wasn't much longer until the Mane 7 reached the Castle of Two Sisters as they saw it in the distance.
Twilight Sparkle: There it is, the ruin that holds The Element of Harmony. We made it!
Twilight got excited and took off with the rest of the Mane 7 following behind her.
Applejack: Twilight, wait for us!
Twilight Sparkle: We're almost there! Whoa!
Twilight almost fell off a large gap with a rope bridge, but (Y/N) caught her and pulled her back up.
(Y/N): You really have to watch where you're going or else you're going to fall like that, Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle: Sorry.
Rainbow Dash: What's with you and falling off cliffs today?
Pinkie Pie: Now what?
Rainbow Dash: Duh, leave it to me.
Pinkie Pie: Oh yeah.
Rainbow Dash flew up to the other side of the gap with the rope bridge and was about to tie it up so that her friends could cross the gap when Nightmare Moon's mist quickly flew underneath her and made a fog appear. A very devious voice was then heard.
?: (Echo) Rainbow Dash. . .
Rainbow Dash: Who's there?
?: (Echo) Rainbow Dash. . .
Rainbow Dash: I ain't scared of you. Show yourself!
?: We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the best flyer in all of Equestria.
Rainbow Dash: Who?
?: Why you of course.
Rainbow Dash: Really?! I mean, yeah me. Hey would you mind telling the Wonderbolts that would ya? Cause I've been trying to join them since forever.
?: No Rainbow Dash. We want to join us, The Shadowbolts.
A trio of Pegasus ponies appear with two stallions and a mare in the middle of the trio wearing dark colored flight suits and goggles with yellow lenses with Cutie Marks that are skulls with a wing.
Shadowbolt Leader: We're the greatest aerial team in the Everfree Forest, and soon we will be the greatest in all Equestria, but first, we need a captain. The most magnificent-
Rainbow Dash: Yep.
Shadowbolt Leader: Swiftest-
Rainbow Dash: Yes.
Shadowbolt Leader: Bravest flyer in all the land.
Rainbow Dash: Yes. *chuckles* It's all true.
Shadowbolt Leader: We need. . . you.
Rainbow Dash: WOOHOO! Sign me up. Just let me tie this bridge real quick and then we have a deal.
Shadowbolt Leader: NO! It's them or us.
(Y/N) turns to Twilight with a confused look.
(Y/N): What's taking her so long?
Twilight then looks to see Rainbow Dash conversing with the Shadowbolts which made her gasp.
Twilight Sparkle: Oh no. Rainbow!
The Shadowbolt leader's eyes glowed to thicken the fog and drown out the Mane 7 from both vision and noise.
Twilight Sparkle: *muffled* Don't listen to them.
Shadowbolt Leader: Well?
Rainbow Dash thought for a second before coming up with her decision.
Rainbow Dash: You. . . Thank you! For the offer, I mean, but I'm afraid I have to say no.
Rainbow Dash tied the bridge up and then flew away to join her friends which made the Shadowbolts grit their teeth before turning into purple mist and flew away.
Rainbow Dash: See? I'd never leave my friends hanging.
(Y/N): I'm so relieved that you turned down that offer.
Rainbow Dash: Well, not only that. Something kept telling me that those Shadowbolts weren't real. I mean if their the greatest aerial team in the Everfree Forest, how come nopony has ever even heard of them.
Twilight then walked up to (Y/N) with a smile.
Twilight Sparkle: I'm glad she didn't abandon us.
(Y/N): Rainbow Dash can get cocky at times, especially when it comes to competitions or bets, but she would always choose her friends over anything.
Twilight Sparkle: I can't believe your friends with such amazing ponies.
(Y/N): I can't believe it either. I'm glad I came to Equestria a month ago to meet them.
Twilight then looked at (Y/N) with a confused look.
Twilight Sparkle: You came to Equestria. . . a month ago?
(Y/N) froze up in shock that he accidentally just revealed his own secret.
(Y/N): Oops, did I say that out loud?
Twilight Sparkle: So wait, it's true? You've been to Equestria for. . . just a whole month.
(Y/N): *sighs* Yeah, it's true. I'll explain everything later, but right now the Elements of Harmony are our priority.
Twilight nods as the both catch up with the rest of their friends.
The Mane 7 then arrive at the Castle of the Two Sisters and as they did, a familiar purple mist then flies right in front of the group surprising them.
Twilight Sparkle: What is that?
An evil laugh was heard as the mist then grows into a figure and out of it was Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Moon: *laughs evilly* To think that seven ponies would pass all of my obstacles. I'm almost impressed. But even so, I'm not letting anypony use the Elements of Harmony against me.
The mares were very scared of Nightmare Moon, but (Y/N) wasn't as he stepped forward in front of them with a brave face. Nightmare Moon noticed that (Y/N) was the same pony she fought back in the town hall and glared at him.
Nightmare Moon: You! Your that alicorn foal who defied me earlier.
(Y/N): That's right and you want to get to my friends, then you'll have to go through me first.
Twilight Sparkle: (Y/N), what are you doing?!
(Y/N): Go find the Elements of Harmony everypony. I'll handle Nightmare Moon.
Applejack: Sugarcube, no! You'll get yourself killed!
(Y/N): It's okay. . . I can handle her!
Nightmare Moon: Such confidence! Why would you throw your life away for these six puny ponies.
(Y/N): I came to Equestria for a purpose, a purpose that I'm going to make sure is done. I was able to make such great friends here that I couldn't be happy if I lost them. I was born with these powers for a reason and I came from Earth to fulfill a promise I made, and that is to not only protect Equestria. . . but to PROTECT MY FRIENDS!
Everypony looked at (Y/N) in shock when he mentioned the word "Earth".
Nightmare Moon: WHAT?! EARTH?!
Twilight Sparkle: Wait, you're from the mythical world that all of Equestria thought didn't exist. . . EARTH!?
(Y/N): Yes! I! Am!
(Y/N) glowed his aura color and shot a magic beam at Nightmare Moon which knocked her into the air. (Y/N) then flew after her.
Mane 6: (Y/N)!
Rainbow Dash: Is he serious?! I thought the world Earth was just an old mare's tale.
Twilight Sparkle: So did I, but if what (Y/N) said was true, then it's got to be real.
Applejack: If he survives that fight with Nightmare Moon, he better be prepared for any questions we're going to ask him.
Twilight Sparkle: (Y/N) told me that he came to Equestria a month ago. Hmm. *gasp* He must've come from Earth a month ago then.
Pinkie Pie: You know, this would explain why he always says "I'll tell you soon" or "Maybe another time" when we asked him about his original home.
Fluttershy: So. . . (Y/N) is an. . . alien?
Rarity: Oh heavens no, Fluttershy. There's no way that the most heroic and most handsome alicorn in Ponyville is some alien. *nervous chuckle* . . .Right?
Twilight Sparkle: I don't know, but only (Y/N) would be able to confirm it. But we can worry about that later, (Y/N)'s fighting Nightmare Moon to buy us sometime to get to the Elements of Harmony so we should get going now!
The Mane 6 nodded as they followed Twilight into the castle. They then come up to a large pedestal with six spherical stones on them.
Twilight Sparkle: The Elements of Harmony, we've found them.
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy got the stone orbs from the pedestal and brought them down to Twilight without breaking them.
Pinkie Pie: One, two, three, four. . . There's only five!
Rainbow Dash: Where's the sixth?
Twilight Sparkle: The book said: When the five are present, a spark will cause the sixth Element to be revealed.
Applejack: What in the hay is that supposed to mean? And didn't it also say that there was a seventh one?
Twilight Sparkle: Only in legends, but it's said that only just one pony and nopony else could wield it. So, we're going to have to find the sixth one. Stand back. I don't know what will happen.
Applejack: Come on now, y'all. She needs to concentrate.
Fluttershy then looks up at the sky where (Y/N) and Nightmare Moon fled off with a worried look.
Fluttershy: Oh, I sure hope (Y/N) is okay.
Applejack: Me too. Let's just hope he's okay for now and nothing deeper.
Rarity: I really hope he doesn't do anything reckless.
Meanwhile, (Y/N) was busy fighting Nightmare Moon as he tackled her into a different part of the castle. Nightmare Moon kicked (Y/N) back and glared at him.
Nightmare Moon: You insolent foal! You'll pay for ruining this day with your life.
Nightmare Moon shoots a beam of magic at (Y/N) and he puts up a shield to make it deflect outside.
(Y/N): I won't let you take over Equestria Nightmare Moon! You can try and stop me all you want, but I'm still going to fight!
Nightmare Moon growled as she made some lightning bolts come down from the sky and (Y/N) flew to dodge them. He then put some magic energy into his front hoof and did an uppercut to Nightmare Moon which knocked her back. When Nightmare Moon recovered from it, she created several spheres of magic balls of energy and shot them towards (Y/N). He dodged some of them, but the last one that was targeted at him, hit him and he fell to the ground.
(Y/N): *groans* That hurt!
Nightmare Moon: There's plenty more where that came from!
Nightmare Moon turned into a mist and went over to (Y/N) to make a tornado around him and he got launched up into the air. Nightmare Moon then turned back to her original form and tried to blast (Y/N) with magic again. (Y/N) covered his eyes afraid to get hit, but instead when he heard the sound of an explosion he removed his hooves from his eyes to see a protective barrier around his whole body.
(Y/N): Huh. I knew I could project normal shields, but I didn't think I could make this large of a barrier.
Nightmare Moon was still trying to blast (Y/N) with magic aiming for his magic barrier, (Y/N) decided to use the barrier as an offensive move and he flew down to crash into Nightmare Moon creating a large explosion. (Y/N) flew out of the smoke and landed on the ground breathing heavily.
(Y/N): Had. . . enough?
(Y/N) kept staring at the smoke to see if Nightmare Moon was still there and he looked very closely by squinting his eyes. However when the smoke cleared, there was no one to be found surprising him. He looked left and right to find if Nightmare Moon was anywhere in slight fear. He backed up and had his horn glowed in case Nightmare Moon was about to surprise him.
(Y/N): (Thoughts) Where did she go? She could take me from any angle if I'm not careful.
As (Y/N)'s was thinking that, he bumped into someone behind him and he turned around to see none other than Nightmare Moon behind him looking down upon him. Nightmare Moon blasted (Y/N) with magic which made him yell and rolled on the floor in pain. He was struggling to get up as Nightmare Moon approached him with her horn glowing.
Nightmare Moon: You have such power to nearly match me in a fight, alicorn. Tell me, who are you?
(Y/N) didn't answer, but tried to shoot a magic beam out of his horn again at Nightmare Moon which she dodged and she rolled her eyes.
Nightmare Moon: Fine. We'll do this the hard way.
Nightmare Moon then went up to (Y/N) and grabbed him by the throat trying to choke him.
Nightmare Moon: I'll ask you one more time. Who. Are. You?
(Y/N): *straining* M-My f-full name is (Y-Y/N) (L/N).
Nightmare Moon gasped at that name as she let (Y/N) go with a shocked look on her face.
Nightmare Moon: (Y/N) (L/N)! That's impossible!
(Y/N) looked up at Nightmare Moon surprised while regaining his breath.
(Y/N): You. . . know who I am?
Nightmare Moon: Yes, I indeed do. That explains why you're an alicorn and from Earth, you're the son of (M/N) (L/N)!
(Y/N): You knew my mom?!
Nightmare Moon: Yes, she was about as gullible as you. *chuckles*
(Y/N) grew an angry look as Nightmare Moon insulted both him and his mother.
Nightmare Moon: You have extraordinary powers (Y/N). Why don't you use it for your own gain? You could have Equestria all to yourself with what potential you have.
(Y/N) stood back up and glared at Nightmare Moon.
(Y/N): This is MY power! I'm not using it to take over the world! I made a promise to my mom to protect Equestria and my friends! So I'm going to give everything I've got to make that promise happen!
Nightmare Moon was not happy at (Y/N)'s decision as she then glows her horn.
Nightmare Moon: Fine then! You can join all of the sun-lovers in Equestria in the afterlife!
(Y/N) eyes widened as Nightmare Moon charged up a large beam and shot it at (Y/N). (Y/N) then made his own magic beam and shot it back to counter it. Nightmare Moon and (Y/N) were now in a standoff, fighting for dominance of who has the stronger magic. It didn't last long though as Nightmare Moon's beam was overtaking (Y/N)'s and he couldn't hold on for much longer.
Back with the Mane 6, Twilight was still trying to find the spark as she made many attempts, but it didn't happen.
Twilight Sparkle: Come on! Come on! Please! Just one spark!
Twilight then got shot back a bit by a zap of electricity, and she looked to see that the elements were sparking each other with some lightning and she grew an excited look.
Twilight Sparkle: Yes! Yes!
However, the elements then stopped emitting electricity which surprised Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle: *gasps* But. . . where's the sixth element?!
An explosion was then heard as all of the Mane 6 turned to where it came from.
Applejack: What in tarnation?!
Somepony then crashed through the wall where the Mane 6 were and it was (Y/N) as he landed on his stomach. He had all sorts of injuries on him.
Mane 6: (Y/N)!
The Mane 6 ran up to (Y/N) to check and see if he was okay, and he was trying to stand up, but he couldn't due to how hurt he was.
Fluttershy: (Y/N)! Are you okay?!
(Y/N): I. . . could be better.
Nightmare Moon then appears behind Mane 7 as she lets out an evil laugh.
Nightmare Moon: Now there's only one more roadblock.
Nightmare Moon sees the stone orbs Elements of Harmony and she fires bolts of lightning at them to shatter them into pieces, shocking the Mane 7.
Twilight Sparkle: NO! THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY!
Nightmare Moon: Did you honestly believe that any of you could defeat me? No one, not even that weak alicorn can defeat me! I've destroyed the Elements of Harmony and now you will never see your princess, or your sun! The night will last forever! *evil laugh*
Twilight was about to fall into despair, however she looks at the rest of the Mane 7 and especially (Y/N) has she remembered something he said.
(Y/N): (Twilight's mind) Besides, we're friends.
Twilight remembered (Y/N) saying this and she realized something and smiled. She then stood and glared at Nightmare Moon with determination in her eyes.
Twilight Sparkle: You think you can destroy The Elements of Harmony just like that? Well, you're wrong, because the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here!
The rest of the Mane 7 then faced Nightmare Moon behind Twilight with the same look of determination she had.
Nightmare Moon: W-What?
With that being said, the shards of the Elements of Harmony started reacting and floated up into the air.
Twilight Sparkle: Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of. . . Honesty!
The shards of the Element of Honesty float towards Applejack and surround her.
Twilight Sparkle: Fluttershy, who tamed the manticore with compassion, represents the spirit of. . . Kindness!
The shards of the Element of Kindness float towards Fluttershy and surround her.
Twilight Sparkle: Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of. . . Laughter!
The shards of the Element of Laughter float towards Pinkie Pie and surround her.
Twilight Sparkle: Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift, represents the spirit of. . . Generosity!
The shards of the Element of Generosity float towards Rarity and surround her.
Twilight Sparkle: And Rainbow Dash, who could not abandon her friends for her own heart's desire, represents the spirit of. . . Loyalty!
The shards of the Element of Loyalty float towards Rainbow Dash and surround her.
Twilight Sparkle: The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us.
Nightmare Moon: You still don't have the sixth Element! The spark didn't work!
Twilight Sparkle: But it did! A different kind of spark. I felt it the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you, to see you, how much I cared about you. The spark ignited inside me when I realized that you all. . . are my friends!
A bright light then shines above drawing everyone's attention to see the sixth Element of Harmony in it's stone orb form which hovers above Twilight.
Twilight Sparkle: You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the. . . the spark, that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of. . . Magic!
The elements floated above and around the Mane 6, but that was all as nothing else seemed to be happening, making Nightmare Moon laugh and the Mane 6 confused.
Nightmare Moon: It appears that your Elements of Harmony are duds, no?
Twilight was confused at first, but she then looked at (Y/N) who looked back at her. Twilight then remembers how they first met, interacted, and helped each other to now as she blushed and smiled back at (Y/N) before getting rid of it and looked at Nightmare Moon.
Twilight Sparkle: Not exactly Nightmare Moon. It is said that when all six elements are combined, one pony would be worthy of being the last element. It is said that the element is a legend, but it is no legend anymore. (Y/N), who became my first friend today, stood up for all of us, and tried to protect all of Equestria on his own even if he had to risk his life. He is the legendary element. . . of Heroism!
Then something unexpected happened as all of the shards glow brightly and create a beam of light at (Y/N) which healed his injuries and he started to float in the air and another orb came out of nowhere as it floated over (Y/N).
The shards then transform into golden necklaces with gems resembling their respective owners' Cutie Mark and go around their respective owners' neck and the orb of Magic transformed into a tiara with a gem on top that resembles Twilight's Cutie Mark before settling on her head. (Y/N)'s orb of Heroism transforms into a crown and it has a gem in the center in the form of a (F/C) (Favorite Color) heart and it also floats onto (Y/N)'s head.
The Elements of Harmony start to glow brightly as the Mane 7 floats up into the air and a huge rainbow-colored beam shoots itself into the air and then is directed towards Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Moon: NOOO! NOOO!
The rainbow beam engulfed Nightmare Moon and then everything went white.
In mere moments, the Mane 7 was back on the ground and began to stand back up.
Rainbow Dash: Ugh, my head.
Applejack: Everypony okay?
Rarity then noticed that her tail was back thanks to the Elements of Harmony.
Rarity: Oh, thank goodness!
Fluttershy: Why Rarity, it's so lovely.
Rarity: I know! I'll never part with it again.
Fluttershy: No. Your necklace. It looks just like your cutie mark.
Rarity: What? Ooh. So does yours.
Fluttershy takes a look at her element of harmony and gasps. Everyone noticed and admired them as well.
Pinkie Pie: Look at mine! Look at mine!
Rainbow Dash: Aw yeah!
Applejack: Gee, Twilight! I thought you were just spoutin' a lot of hooey, but I reckon we really do represent the elements of friendship.
Twilight Sparkle: I suppose we do.
The Mane 6 then turned to (Y/N) as he was looking at his own Element of Harmony and the way it looked on him made them blush.
Twilight Sparkle: Wow, (Y/N)! I didn't think you'd be the one to summon the legendary Element of Harmony.
(Y/N): Neither did I. I guess I was meant to come here after all.
Rarity: Oh, my (Y/N). Your crown makes you look like a prince.
(Y/N) blushed a little when Rarity said that.
(Y/N): *nervous chuckle* Prince may be a bit of an overstatement to me.
?: Well done, everypony.
A bright light appeared from the window as everypony looked to see the sun had finally risen and the light entered the room, changing into an alicorn mare. She had a light fuchsia ish gray coat, a light rainbow mane and tail (in the colors of light cerulean, light turquoise, very light cobalt blue and pale heliotrope), pale, light grayish magenta eyes, and her Cutie Mark is a stylized sun.
Realizing who it is, the Mane 7 bow down, except for Twilight who runs up to her.
Twilight Sparkle: Princess Celestia!
(Y/N): (Thoughts) That's Princess Celestia?! She looks more beautiful in person.
Princess Celestia: Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student, I knew you could do it. I knew you would make friends and together, you would all stop Nightmare Moon once and for all.
Twilight Sparkle: But. . . you told me it was all an old pony tale.
Princess Celestia: I told you that you needed to make some friends, nothing more. I saw the signs of Nightmare Moon's return, and I knew it was you who had the magic inside to defeat her, but you could not unleash it until you let true friendship into your heart. Now if only another will as well. Princess Luna!
The Mane 7 turned to see an alicorn mare on the ground and she had a grayish phthalo blue coat, a very light azure blue mane and tail, and her Cutie Mark was a moon surrounded by a black color.
She gasped when she got up from the ground and she saw her older sister Princess Celestia.
Princess Celestia: It has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this. Time to put our differences behind us. We were meant to rule together, little sister. Will you accept my friendship?
Princess Luna looked up and cried as she hugged Princess Celestia which she returned dearly and Princess Celestia also shed her tears at reuniting with her little sister.
Princess Luna: I'm so sorry! I missed you so much, big sister!
Princess Celestia: I've missed you too!
Princess Luna then opened her eyes to look at (Y/N) as she just remembered something.
Princess Luna: Sister! That young stallion right there!
Princess Celestia turned to see (Y/N) and she gasped when she saw that (Y/N) is an alicorn.
Princess Celestia: Another alicorn?!
Both of the princesses then walked up to (Y/N) making him a little nervous.
Princess Luna: That's not all, Celestia. His name was. was. . . was. . . um pardon me, but could you repeat the name to say to my darker self?
(Y/N): Um, my name is (Y/N) (L/N).
Princess Celestia gasped when she heard that name.
Princess Celestia: (Y/N) (L/N)? The (Y/N) (L/N)? Son of (M/N) (L/N)?
(Y/N): Yes, princess. Do you know who I am?
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna looked at each other before looking back at (Y/N) with a smile.
Princess Celestia: Indeed. We also knew your mother quite well.
(Y/N) grew both shocked and happy as they knew his mother. The rest of the Mane 7 then walked up to where the three are.
Twilight Sparkle: Princess Celestia, you know (Y/N)? How? He's never even met you before.
(Y/N) then put his hoof around Twilight's back to get her attention.
(Y/N): Maybe it's best that we go someplace else for me to tell you all who I really am. Right now, after a long journey we need to head back to Ponyville and rest.
Princess Celestia: You are correct (Y/N). You are all exhausted from the trials you have faced so let's return to Ponyville and give you the rest you all deserve.
With that, Princess Celestia used her magic to transport everypony back to Ponyville as the battle with Nightmare Moon was finally over.
