Chapter 5: Of Academies and Missions

Author's Note: Sorry if this chapter was bad, my dad recently died and I haven't put much thought into fics these recently.
– Start –
"Team Thirteen here report another successful D Ranked Mission." Anko said, with a grin.
She looked at her 'team' who was trying to hide his frustration. Anko was enjoying this, as did Iruka if his smirking at Karasu was saying.
"Please sensei, no more." Karasu said, almost begging.
"Fine… Hokage-sama, I request a C-Rank mission for Team 13." said Anko bluntly, looking at The Third.
"What?! This early on? It's only been a few weeks, at best. He's not even ready." argued Iruka, sitting beside the Hokage. While the man himself was carefully looking at Anko.
Karasu looked shocked at the bluntness, honestly somewhat expecting this from her. She was always blunt and to the point, even with the Hokage apparently. It's only been two months or so since he's graduated and they've only been doing D-Ranks, something that he was prepared for yet still hating it.
"He may have been your student Iruka but as of right now, I'm his sensei and if I say he's ready for C-Ranks, he's ready to take on a C-Ranks." said Anko, slightly more forceful in her words.
"I've known him far longer than you have, and as much of a prodigy as he is, he needs more time." Iruka retorted.
"Hokage-sama?" Karasu interrupted the bickering, causing both shinobi to stare at the Hokage who closed his eyes.
"Iruka-kun, there hasn't been another chunin to aid you since graduation right?" asked Hiruzen.
"No, Hokage-sama." Iruka answered, with curiosity on where this was going.
"Let's compromise Anko-chan, Iruka-kun. Team 13 will complete one more mission before I let the team do C-Ranks." Hiruzen said, puffing out smoke through his pipe.
"It's a relatively easy mission." The Hokage continued. "The newest batch of students will be given to Iruka in a few hours from now. And he needs someone to aid him in getting their rowdier students to listen to him."
"Forgive me Hokage-sama, but can't he do it by himself? I mean they aren't even trained." Karasu asked.
"Fresh academy students can be demanding, especially if you are not allowed to hurt them." This time, Iruka explained. "The average student per class is usually at least 40 to 50. It's why two Chuunin are there to help ease the load. Unfortunately Mizuki is busy and won't be able to help me."
"It's also to judge you, well more of an assessment. Since someone hasn't actually been giving their reports." The Hokage interjected, looking pointedly at Anko who was avoiding eye-contact.
"Reports?" Karasu asked.
"It's mostly because some students hide their true capabilities in the Academy. All the newly formed teams must be evaluated." Anko said, slightly wincing at the look the Hokage gave her.

Karasu looked upon the doors of the academy as Anko walked with him.
"I didn't think I would come back here, especially for a mission." Karasu said, making Anko smile slightly.
"I'll see you later I guess… And meet me at the dango shop later, bye." Anko said, leaping up towards the building and disappearing.
"We need to hurry. I was only able to go pick you up during my lunch break." Iruka said before the two went to his old classroom.
The door opening instantly made the Academy students look at the genin with their instructor, with some whispers recognizing one of the last Uchiha.
"To your seats." Iruka said, other students quietened down and sat down at their respective places.
"When I call your name, respond to let me know you're here..." Iruka said, calling out several names.
Iruka cleared his throat and continued calling attendance. When he was done he started speaking.
"Good, everyone's here." Iruka said, coughing to gain the class' attention. "Good morning class, and welcome to the Shinobi Academy… "

"... And now Uchiha-san will now demonstrate the needed Ninjutsu for your finals." Iruka said, gesturing to the front.
"These jutsu is the staple of every shinobi, It is a basic requirement for every Konoha Shinobi. Transformation, Substitution and Clone Jutsu." Karasu said, in front of the captivated students.
"The first I will show you is the Transformation Jutsu." Karasu said, before being covered in a cloud of smoke. To the shock of the class, he came out looking like Iruka.
"It has a multitude of uses and becomes one of your main weapons if you learn how to do it properly." 'Iruka' said, before a cloud of smoke took his visage and a new voice came from the smoke.
"Another thing that makes the Henge a great tool is that not only can you change who you are but what you are." A woman with black hair said, before 'she' transformed back into Karasu.
"With the right training, one can become just about anything and anyone. As you train you will learn your limitations but those limitations can be broken. This jutsus can only be restricted by your imagination." Karasu said as he saw the academy students following his every word.
"The next jutsu is..." Karusu said, suddenly a log occupied where he was.
"Substitution. It's a very useful jutsu, could save from anything, if you time it well enough." Karasu said, behind the class as the students turned to see him, starting to walk back towards the front.
"And lastly the Clone jutsu." Karasu said, as suddenly there were four clones alongside Karasu.
"This jutsu..." Clone one said.
"Is a great distraction..." Clone two said.
"Not only can you confuse your opponent..." Clone three said.
"It has many variants to choose from..." Clone four said.
Karasu uses Genjutsu to make it appear as if the clones were speaking one after the other.
– Line Break –
"Was taking care of academy students really that headache inducing?" Anko asked, somewhat dubious.
"It was, they all kept saying things like 'Show us more jutsus!' 'Can you show us your bloodline'" Karasu complained, as both were walking on the road toward the mission.
"I guess that's just karma for how rowdy you were back then."
"Ugh, that wasn't even me, that was Naruto."
"Oh right, you were the quiet one."
"Haha, can you hear my sarcasm?" Karasu said, scowling.
They had been given a mission to take out a small gang that had been terrorizing shopkeepers.
"It's simple enough," said Anko headpatting Karasu. "Capture one for questioning and arrest the others."
"They have been deemed as threats," said Karasu. "So once a village deems a group a threat, they send the ninja after them?"
"Yeah, but, this is a newer group, and other than their aggressiveness toward civilians, they aren't very impressive." she said, as she finished her dango and pointed the stick down towards a store. "They just went in. You're up."
Karasu hopped down and got a good view through the front window of the shop.
The thug made his way behind the counter, threatening the man that stood behind the counter.
"Hey man, we don't want any trouble, just give us the money." said one of them. The shopkeeper shook her head.
The leader quickly went behind the shopkeeper with a knife at her throat. "Listen, just give us the money and no one has to get hurt."
Karasu observed the woman who was in danger and noticed that the knife was rusty and dull.
"The leader was a genin, so maybe have some caution." Anko said, beside him. "This is on you, remember don't kill them all."
'Them all, meaning spare one for investigation.'
Karasu's hands gripped several kunai, eyes trained on the leader, and the rest of them.
Quickly bursting into the room, Karasu flicked one of his hands, one kunai hit a thug's neck, the other hit the leader's arm causing him to drop the knife. And with another flick, killed the final two thugs with hits to their chests and neck.
After throwing the kunai, he quickly rushed at the leader whose hand was bleeding. Quickly tying him up, he then waited for his sensei.
"Good job." she said, looking around the room. "Come on, Let's escort this guy to T&I."

"AHHHHH!" The leader screamed.
Karasu looked into the glass, observing the man screaming in the same room as his sensei.
"She's doing great isn't she?" Ibiki commented.
"Right." Karasu said, somewhat quietly.
"Now, without all the bullshitting. Where is the rest of your gang?" Anko said, gripping the leader's head tightly.
"Like I'll tell you, you bit–" He got interrupted as the kunai slipped further underneath his fingernails. "AHHHHH!"
"And again, it's really simple, and I hate that I'm the only one cooperating. Where. Are. They?" she asked, after him being silent she continued pushing the kunai. "Just give me the fucking location!"
