Chapter 5: The Rock Star Sleepover
One cool third Saturday of April 2020, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri, as well as one of my other best friends, Carly Shay and her parents, Sam and Freddie, at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Sarah Ching's house in Monroeville for her Rock Star Sleepover. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. The room was decorated with records, stars, white string lights, and musical notes. We began the party with Boa Limbo, which James and I helped out with. Sarah C. was crowned Limbo Queen because she was the last one standing. Then, it was snack time. Henri and Mr. Benson helped serve the Star Cookies, James and Mrs. Shay helped serve the Microphone Treats, and Sarah and Carly helped serve the Rock Star Cupcakes. "I would like a cookie so bad, Mr. Benson," Henri stated. "They look so good!" "I would like one, too, Henri, but they are for the guests," Mr. Benson stated. After snacks, we played more games, including Songwriting Competition supervised by Sarah and Don't Forget the Lyrics! supervised by Henri. "I just found out that a new person will be coming to take my place, James," Mrs. Shay pointed out. "His name will be Spencer Puckett. He was an old friend of Carly's. I am sure that he will be a good friend for you." "Why can't you stay here, Mrs. Shay?" James asked. "Because Freddie and I will not be together anymore, and they were right about the whole boy-girl thing." Half of the games and activities were played to Santana's music and half of the games and activities were played to NSYNC's music. Then, we moved on to activities, such as diva makeovers supervised by Carly, rockin' out to tunes supervised by Mrs. Shay, and making a music video for "Tearin' Up My Heart" by NSYNC supervised by Mr. Benson. "Are you ladies enjoying life at the new condo in Squirrel Hill?" Sarah C. asked me. "Oh, it is great," I replied. "The condominium has a lot of rules about recycling and stuff, which was pretty much the only project that I got a failing grade on in my school career," Sarah stated. "All it was was an Earth Day project about saving the Earth." "I think life in the condominium is a LOT of fun," Carly pointed out. "It reminds me of the time I visited Angel up at Edinboro University and we had delicious things to eat, like pizza and ice cream." "Sounds like a lot of fun," Sarah C. replied. "I wish I had my own condominium in the city to live in." "Why is Alex making us eat healthy food now, Sarah?" Carly asked. "Well, Carly," Sarah replied. "That is her way of eating and we should always eat that way, anyway." Around midnight, we returned to our condominium in Squirrel Hill and headed to bed for the evening. "Thanks for a great evening, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
