Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart. - Marcus Aurelius
Standing here in front of him with a shocked face, the green haired girl looked beautiful to him, she always did. Especially now. The reptilian teen felt his worries slowly recede.
"You have ten minutes, make it quick." The man shut the door, leaving the two teens to their own devices. The first thing the orange eyed teen noticed about her is that she was wearing her casual outfit, the second thing he noticed was her eye bags which were even visible in the dim lit room.
"Izuku…" Setsuna whispered his name like he would disappear if she spoke too loudly, she always used his given name when she was serious or emotional.
She walked up to the reptilian teen in a slow gate, her expression now unreadable. He couldn't quite place what was on her mind at that moment, she stopped right in front of the teen with a shadowed face.
A loud smack reverberated against the walls, Setsuna's hand was held out as if she striked something. That something the orange eyed teen realized, was him. He hadn't even been able to register the slap until a few seconds afterwards, it wasn't hard enough to really hurt him.
She lowered her hand to her side, the orange eyed teen was lost as to what he should do. What could he do?
"I hated it, everyday I felt like shit. I hated not being able to see you, they wouldn't let me." Her arms were trembling down at her side.
"It was hard to notice your presence in my mind until it was gone, it made me feel empty not being able to feel your voice at the back of my head, Y'know." Her shadowed face betrayed nothing. The boy frowned at her words, she spoke like she hadn't seen him in ages.
"It's been a month, you've been at UA for a month Izuku." Her eyes looked straight up to his, boring a hole through as small tears built up on the corner of her eyes.
His mind exploded, an entire month? The orange eyed teen couldn't comprehend the fact, had the power he called on been that detrimental as to cripple him for that long? He didn't transform further, he'd used too much energy for that small transformed state to handle, far too much.
Guilt crashed into him, what seemed like a few moments for the reptilian teen was an entire month for his mate, a month where she couldn't see or feel him. He imagined an entire month without his lover and best friend, not knowing if she'd survive or not.
The thought scared him.
He was broken from his guilty musing by a small chuckle, it was music to his ears to hear her laugh in any way.
"Look at you, I left you for a few minutes and you get yourself stuck in a coma. Seems you couldn't help but break the last rule huh? Whatever, I can't ever stay upset with you." Her mood changed, a small smile replaced her frown while she wiped her tears, she lifted a hand to his face as if to confirm he was really there. The orange eyed teen jolted at the touch, the kind hand sent chills down his spine.
After a few moments, she got on her toes and clasped her hands around his neck, she was as glad if not more to see the orange eyed teen, the reptilian teen returned her embrace after a moment. He recovered from her emotional whiplash as he quickly buried his face in the crook of her neck, he felt starved for physical affection.
She hummed softly into their embrace, her heart soaring after a month separated.
"I forgive you, for everything..." She whispered into the crook of his neck, wrapping her legs around his body as he held her tight, glad she wasn't furious with him after all the reptilian teen let out a sigh of relief. She smelled nice.
"I missed you, Goji."
The orange eyed teen hummed and agreed internally, grateful for her quick forgiving nature. When it came to him, anyways.
After a few moments, they untangled from each other. The embrace seemed to brighten the green haired girl exponentially, her eye bags now gone miraculously.
She smiled that toothy grin at him for a second after they released their embrace, in an emotional rebound. However, her face contorted into a frown after a moment. What else? She began to nervously pace back and forth in the small cell like room. With a concerned visage, the reptilian teen pondered what the issue was now.
Suddenly, she stopped as if resolved, taking a breath of air she stared right at the reptilian teen.
Questioning
The green haired girl had never looked this nervous in his memory, she'd always been confident enough to speak her mind no matter what, well… there were a few times actually. But right now, she seemed to be deathly afraid of what was about to happen.
"I know."
There was a silence, the only sound to accompany it was the slight ticking of the clock, the orange eyed teen furrowed his brow.
She knows? Knows what?
Then it clicked, she knew.
That's why she was afraid back then during the test, she KNEW.
The orange eyed teen's face paled as much as it possibly could, there was a terse silence as he took a second to really grasp what she just told him. She shut her eyes for a moment as if afraid of his reaction, but his mind was far too preoccupied to reassure her.
She knew, she knew what he was
The leviathan.
The beast who'd laid waste to an entire city some years ago, how? Did they tell her? Did she connect the dot-
She interrupted his panicked musing, hands frantically gesturing, "Please, just hear me out. Yes I know. But…" her face hardened.
"It doesn't matter to me a damn bit ok? I still like you Y'know? Nothing will change that." She spoke, the declaration eased his worries. This must have been why she was so emotional after his atomic blast, she knew what it could reveal.
He needed to be rational, the reptilian teen couldn't jump to conclusions with her, never with her. If she knew and hugged him even so, she obviously didn't hate him. Thankfully.
She continued, "You remember on my birthday when I wanted to tell you something but couldn't?" The reptilian teen nodded, recalling that night as it was the first time he'd shown her physical affection.
"I wanted to tell you back then but I was afraid, I didn't want you to leave y'know? Didn't want to scare you off. I've known most of the time you've been here, that you were…" She paused with a bated breath.
"The leviathan…"
His fists clenched and unclenched, how could she have possibly known.
Setsuna noticed his thoughtful visage and clenched hands, "I thought that If I told you what I knew you'd run off, afraid that I would expose you. At least at the start."
It made sense he supposed, but how did she figure it out?
How
"It doesn't matter right now, I don't have enough time to explain it and it's appropriately insane." She spoke, whatever the explanation was, it could wait.
"What matters is that no matter what, I'll always be at your side, I... care for you. I promise I'll explain what I mean later, but now we gotta focus on getting through this. We'll talk more later, ok?" She interlocked their fingers, the orange eyed teen relented in his overactive thought process before calming. Setsuna never lied to him, if she truly feared telling him all this then it must have been founded in reality. Would he have left if she knew back then? Afraid of her judgment?
The orange eyed teen shook his head, the past was in the past. She was justified and it was no fault of her own, his mind was cluttered with thoughts and musing. But one thing he knew for sure is that Setsuna wouldn't put him in danger, she was always always kind to him. She was his mate.
He trusted her absolutely, he had to. His mind screamed it so.
Trust
She grinned thankfully at that, a weight lifted from her chest and shoulders as the tense silence was broken. interlocking his hand with hers, she spoke softly.
"Let's get you home."
The door clicked open finally, it felt like longer but it had only really been 10 minutes. Principal Nezu stepped through the door in his lonesome, sporting the same ever present smile as always.
"Ah, a companionship between two souls hm?" The way he said that sent chills down the two teen's spines, he chuckled at their discomfort.
"Come come, let's head to my office for tea. It's a little, homier? Yes, that's the word."
They sweat dropped.
"Actually, acquire some clothing first Midoriya."
He poured them both a cup of tea as they sat on the other side of the desk, it was quiet. The orange eyed teen wanted answers, but he didn't want to come off as disrespectful to what he assumed would be his principal for the next three years.
The boy sat straight up in his seat, his eyes shifting about as the quiet perpetuated. Setsuna just wanted to get it over with, she lifted the cup to her mouth and took a small sip.
"How's the tea, Ms. Tokage?" The chimera politely asked.
She shrugged, "It's decent, but I prefer my parents. I'm sure you get it." The chimera laughed.
"Not quite, but it's not too far-fetched. Humans are sentimental creatures after all." The reptilian teen agreed, not realizing the subtle jab.
"Anyways, I'm going to be blunt with you both." Setsuna gripped the orange eyed teen's hand at the chimera's words.
"We can't let Mr. Midoriya here leave the campus, not quite yet." He dropped the bomb on the two teens with a little less class than usual, but these kids were clearly in a rush for whatever reason.
"I'm not an idiot, if you wanted to do something to him you'd have done it already, so why? I already know who he is, so don't hold anything back." The chimera was surprised, many times in the past humans assumed his intentions before he revealed them. He'd already assumed the girl would know the truth seeing as she and her parents housed the boy for 5 months, it was a reasonable assumption.
"Hm, no wonder you got a 100% on the written exam. You're quite sharp haha, but yes I will explain." He stood up or rather hopped down from his seat that was too large for him and moved near the window.
"We can't risk society realizing we house the Leviathan, and furthermore we can't risk them realizing who exactly is the leviathan. Direct recognition and dot connecting is the smallest likelihood due to the abundance of quirks that bear some resemblance to a bipedal reptile, a… slip up like what we saw during the exams is far more likely." The insinuation wasn't lost on either teens.
"Luckily, no UA examinees had their phones. All they have is hearsay, so it's us against them. And thankfully, all footage of the initial incident has been classified by the state, hence why direct recognition is the least likely outcome..." The chimera droned on as Izuku weighed his options, he didn't want to be kept here against his will in the case he refused, but the points he raised were sound.
Setsuna wasn't convinced, "None of that matters, Izuku lived with me and my parents for 5 months before the exams and nothing happened, he isn't just some brute who gets set off by any little thing damnit." The chimera chuckled at her vitriolic defense, the reptilian teen was watching in interest at this side of her he'd only seen the day he met her.
"While I'm not disputing that, as many of my staff members have pointed out to me; he is very much prone to acts of heroism at his own detriment. While a good quality for a hero, could lead to disaster in more ways than one I'm sure you know." It was both a blessing and a curse, Setsuna let the chimera continue and held her rebuke.
"Alas, there are only a few days before students move into the dorms. Effectively Mr. Midoriya would be moving in a week before everyone else, not quite that terrible? You have to understand what could happen if we let him just walk back with you back into the outside world, it's mere precaution." Setsuna frowned.
"And since Mr Midoriya displayed his earth shattering power, there are bound to be rumors amongst these families which are bound to spread, it's not just a slippery slope my dear. Word moves quite fast amongst you humans." The chimera sighed.
She stood up angrily, "I don't care, you can't hold him here against his-" a hand fell on her shoulder, she held her tongue.
Agreement
The reptilian teen nodded his head towards the chimera, resolved, Setsuna translated for him.
"He says… he says he agrees." She forgot it was ultimately up to him, she didn't take into consideration what his own feelings were.
The chimera brought his paws together, "Fantastic!"
The chimera grinned exuberantly at the agreement before raising a clawed finger, "And don't worry, you're both in class 1A, so you'll have plenty of time to reacquaint."
The reptilian teen was excited, he'd usually shy away from strangers but with Setsuna with him he knew that he could make more friends. He felt uncharacteristically looking forward to meeting other hero prospects, but his excitement was short-lived as he noticed the green haired female beside him sigh softly.
The chimera took a last sip of his tea before gesturing to the pair.
"Now that we've settled that, wait here for just a moment. I'll have you escorted to our heights alliance dormitory, and I will contact Ms. Tokage's parents. Feel free to help yourselves to the tea." The chimera left the office, the two teens sat in silence as the door shut with a click.
Setsuna was quite frustrated, when she saw Izuku up and about she thought they'd be able to return home like normal and she could explain everything to him. It wasn't too bad she supposed, only a few more days. And at least now the reptilian teen was awake, she was grateful for that at least.
Setsuna
She turned her head from her quiet musings, the orange eyed teen was giving her a small smile letting her know it would be alright.
Her heart fluttered, wordlessly she nodded and gave a small smile in return. "I know, I know it's gonna be fine…" she trailed off.
She snorted suddenly, jolting Izuku from his soft smile.
"Your smile can cure cancer you know." She giggled at her own joke, the reptilian teen shook his head before joining in, chuckling softly.
After that, Aizawa returned to escort Izuku to the dorms, and a female hero he didn't recognize came to escort Setsuna to the commons. The scruffy man didn't look too pleased but it was hard to tell with him, he always looked rather tired.
They trudged on in silence, the countless dormitories filling this side of the campus gave the orange eyed teen quite the shock, not quite grasping the fact that hundreds upon hundreds of people went to this school before the fact. The notion was quickly confirmed as they passed a group of older teens, they seemed to be training in preparation for the next school year.
"Here we are, the class 1A dorms." The man lazily gestured to the building in question, it was rather impressive up close.
"We've been informed you didn't really have your own room beforehand, so the school will provide you with basic necessary items." The scruffy man rubbed his eyelids.
"You can find your way back now right?" The orange eyed teen nodded. "Good, that means my job here is done." He yawned before picking something from his pocket.
"Catch." So he did, the item in question was a small card. A provisional quirk license. The reptile's head snapped up as he realized what was in his hands.
"As a student of UA, you now have the reins to use your quirk for all training and developmental purposes. It also doubles as your student ID, your room is number 17. We'll handle paperwork later, welcome... to your hero academia. " The man turned and began his trek back towards the main building, the sight of the trembling teen still in his mind.
"Don't do anything irrational..."
The orange eyed teen was vibrating from excitement, the wristband was a thing of the past. He didn't hear the slight whisper even with his enhanced hearing.
"Or we'll all regret it."
Back at the main building, Setsuna was being accompanied by one particular female hero.
"So, he's your boyfriend right?" The taller female spoke in a sultry tone, Setsuna put a finger up to her chin as if questioning before smirking.
"Something like that." She shrugged, a sly grin grazing her face.
"Coy are we? Not even a blush? I'm impressed, I can tell we'll get along just fine in class." The green haired teen chuckled at that, this lady was something else.
"Say, Midnight…" Setsuna trailed off as she walked besides the scantily clad heroine.
The heroine shook her finger, "If you want to know what class I'm teaching, I'm afraid it's a surprise dear."
The green eyed girl giggled, "No Ma'am, just wondering why you guys want me to wait here for my parents instead of just going to the station like usual."
"Well, good question. What I know about dear little Nezu is that he calculates everything in that fuzzy cute head of his. He probably realized Midoriya would like to say goodbye to your parents or guardians. Don't think too hard about it, trust me." The revelation shocked and terrified the girl at the same time.
"Wow, well he's not wrong…" she trailed off.
They continued walking in silence, this building was simply huge in every sense of the word.
The heroine shifted the topic and shattered the silence, "So, you actually lived with a boy your age for 5 months, a hunk like that no less. Under your own parents roof? How'd you manage that? He must've made a huge first impression." The heroine found it hard to believe.
The girl sighed heartfully and nodded, "He saved my life."
She remembered the night like it was yesterday, Izuku shielding her with his own body and strong arms. She remembered looking up and seeing his face at that moment, the pure determination and vigor dominating his sharp facial features stuck in her head ever since.
"Oh my, how romantic.~" The R-rated Heroine practically purred, "And here I was thinking those googly eyes were because he's good in bed.~"
Setsuna snorted, "Nah nothing like that, he's too pure and it's a little early to be thinking of something like that, not that I haven't mind you.~" they both laughed at that, the sound of chuckling reverberating across the empty halls.
Setsuna wondered why the heroine was so casual about this, the entirety of the UA staff had to know by now...
She gave the heroine a toothy smirk regardless, "Y'know you're oddly interested in my personal life, any reason?"
"Well it's quite a unique situation, and you are quite a unique person dear. You know right?" The girl nodded.
The heroine donned a more serious face, "Then you know what you'll be put through, don't you? It will be a hard path for you both, and not all the teachers at UA will be as "carefree" as I am even if the boy was a child at the time." The green eyed girl tensed, she knew that the road would be hard.
"I know. But I know a lot of things, Important things. I've chosen my path and I wouldn't change it for the world, but thank you for the advice." She gazed solidly at the heroine to her right as the dusk light swept through the hallway.
"Riveting, you sound really devoted to him." The heroine said, "Well, I wish you both luck. You're going to need it."
"Thank you."
After exiting the dorm, the reptilian teen quickly realized that the UA campus was immense, forests, tracks, trails, cities, gyms, countless upon countless acres of land all at their disposal. It was mind boggling, after touring his new room, his own room that seemed to house a desk and a few other items. The teen strived to explore the campus since he now had full access to it, but first he wanted to make sure he caught Setsuna and her parents before they left.
The orange eyed teen quickly ran across the wide trail that led towards the main building, dust kicked up in his sprint. As the teen ran he passed a jogging group of three, shocking them from their conversation.
"Woah, Mirio Didja see that? Wow I couldn't even see his face he was going so fast! I wonder why he's in such a hurry, I sure don't know anybody in our classes who can move that quickly!" An aqua haired female babbled on as the second teen in their group pants heavily, the lanky dark haired teen mutters a soft whisper as he tries to catch his breath.
The last of the teens clenches his fist and smiles brightly, "I haven't seen him around here either, must be a special case first year." Blonde hair and pinprick eyes illuminate his face with a certain joyful cartoonish visage.
"You think he's tough?"
Setsuna quickly made her way into the courtyard after waving a goodbye and giving thanks to the R-rated heroine, the dusk was setting on the UA campus as it overlooked the crater that was once Musustafu and the surrounding area. Surprisingly, the city was now filled to the brim with wildlife and forestry while the crater stood gaping at the center. The radiation levels completely disappeared after a year or two and that's when all this change occurred, the surrounding cities and towns suddenly had to live with a cross between a forest and a city that went on for miles and miles as they tried to rebuild. The government military base situated around the crater prevented anyone from really exploring the crater, nobody really knew why they were there but the most common explanation was to prevent radiation exposure.
She sighed, the backdrop of the large crater made her reflect on her own choices for a small moment. But no, she would remain resolute in her support, always.
The girl walked towards the gates before she saw her parents being allowed through by the gate watcher, she quickly jogged up to them smiling her toothy grin. "Hey guys! Guess what." She yelled over to them as she approached.
"They finally let you in? Yeah sweetie we can tell." Tobideru snorted as his wife elbowed his shoulder.
She giggled, stopping right in front of them, "No dad, they let me see Goji, I got to talk to him today." She had a goofy grin on her face.
"Wait for real? Finally? Bout damn time we heard word, yeesh." The man grumbled.
"Oh Setsuna! That's wonderful, where is he?" The Tokage matriarch's head was darting around for a sign of the boy, Setsuna frowned.
"He's been taken to the dorms, they want him to move in early or something." She shrugged disappointedly, hoping the small lie would suffice.
"Seriously? Setsuna? Don't tell me they aren't gonna let him out, I get he's big and scary and all but that boy is the most gentle teenage kid I've ever met. Come on, there has to be a good reason." Damn, she didn't want to explain this but her dad was too smart for his own good.
"I'll know if you're lying Sets, come on whatever they told you doesn't matt-"
"It's not for me to say dad, trust me on that one." She interrupted him, Seicho grabbed her shoulder after the fact.
"Setsuna! You shouldn't interrupt your father like that, you know better young lady." She rolled her eyes, this really wasn't the time.
"It's alright dear, Sets just had an emotional reunion that's all." He looked around for a second, "Damn this place really is bigger in person."
She snorted "I know right? It felt like forever just walking through the halls."
Tapping. The 3 looked around trying to pinpoint the sound, the tapping got louder and louder until it evolved into rapid thuds.
The group saw an ever growing trail of dust and wind spiraling out of the forest as it got closer, Setsuna had a smirk on her face.
The reptile burst through the trees, the teen was running like hell and had his eyes set on the closest figure.
The green haired man held his hands out frantically, "Slow down son slow down!" He shut his eyes as the blur zeroed in on him, preparing to be hit by a wall of teenager he held out his hands in fright.
The reptilian teen stood rim rod straight in front of the shorter man, he was still closing his eyes as the orange eyed teen smiled down at him. The two women were giggling at the sight.
At the laughter, the man let a single eye open before letting go of his breath, "Dear lord man, I'm not as young as I sound, that almost gave me a heart attack." The reptilian teen's rumbling chuckle elicited a strained smile.
"Haha… very... funny." A wheeze.
"How in the hell did you manage to get stuck at UA for over a month in a coma of all things?" The man looked perplexed.
A shrug. The man looked to Setsuna, who shrugged as well, he shook his head muttering obscenities. Looking at his watch, the green haired man noticed how dim it was getting.
"Well… we better get going dear, but before we go I gotta say something to you my friend." The shorter man reached up to put a hand on the reptilian boy's shoulder.
"You are a good kid, in your short time living under our roof I've noticed a lot of change from you. At first I thought you were standoffish and antisocial, but then I realized how gentle and calm you were. It's just your nature and it makes you one hell of a listener, I'm gonna miss having another guy in the house Y'know? Take care, and take care of our girl for us." The man smiled at him.
Another, smaller hand grabbed his other shoulder, "I'm going to miss you too, from one lizard to another. We will always be in your corner dear, remember that." The reptilian mother smiled up at him with incisional teeth.
The reptilian teen was shocked at their emotion, his lips quivered a little as he listened to them speak. His fists unclenched and clenched as he realized he wouldn't be seeing a lot of these two anymore. He recalled his life with Serizawa, the man was of few words, cryptic. He looked back to his past and realized the man wasn't his father. More like his teacher, mentor. These people before him taught him what family truly meant, he was sad to say goodbye.
He suddenly pointed at the two, a silence emanating as his finger jetted out for a second or two. The orange eyed boy then clasped his hands into a fist and put it against where his nuclear powered heart would be.
"Are you trying to say-." The man was interrupted as the teen kneeled down and wrapped his arms around the two adults eliciting small gasps.
Gratitude
Only Setsuna heard him, she couldn't help but smile as she watched her parents rub the boys head affectionately.
The Tokage parents left the two to their own devices after a heartfelt goodbye, they told her to make it quick. Setsuna thought that if this was how they acted when Izuku was going to the dorms how would they react when she went?
They stood there in silence, the reptilian teen was smiling at his mate, his features lit by the orange dusk.
"Today's been a little crazy huh." It wasn't a question.
The boy nodded with a shrug, he was still sort of recovering from the whiplash. One second he was in the UA exams the next he was being interrogated after spending an entire month in a coma for overusing his abilities.
He caught something in his eyes from behind Setsuna, Musustafu. UA had a perfect perch to see it, he frowned. His eyes lids became heavy, a downtrodden expression forming on his face.
Setsuna quickly noticed, she took his hand in her own. "Don't, I know it's tempting but don't."
Guilt
"I know, it's normal to be guilty. But you were a kid back then Y'know? I doubt you're the first case of a rampant quirk activation, a lot of kids can't control their powers. You were just unlucky ok?" She comforted the boy, squeezing his hand for a second before stepping back a few feet and looking down.
The boy let out a bated breath, a small sad smile donned on his face. He let out a small sigh, they needed to talk
Setsuna looked at him and noticed his questioning look. Steeling her nerves, she opened her mouth.
"I've been having dreams."
The orange eyed teen's thoughts evaporated at that, what did she mean.
Questioning
"I've been having dreams of you, of places and things I've never seen before. It's mostly the same dream but it gets more clear as time goes on, at first it was fuzzy and I could hardly see most of the details." She explained.
The orange eyed teen mused, was this something to do with their mental connection?
"At first I thought it was just normal schoolgirl crush stuff, but as time went on and the more I got to know you, the more vivid and rapid the dreams became." She looked like she got something huge off her chest.
"I figured out you were the leviathan a few days before my birthday, in my dream I saw a blurry version of you but I could make out the green hair and tail." She explained while grabbing at her hair nervously.
"Afterwards I saw you shift into the huge monster and I knew for sure it was you, the realization scared me but not as much as I thought it would. You were still Goji to me, even then…" She began trembling, her eyes lowering to the ground.
"initially I was scared to tell you what I saw. I was so scared that you would want to leave if you knew I held your greatest secret." Green eyes begin watering slightly as the orange dusk cascades across them.
"I'm so sorry that I kept it from you Izuku, I knew you were suffering from guilt, I saw how you'd space out sometimes with a somber look on your face but I was afraid, I could've supported you a lot earlier if I wasn't back then. And a part of me wanted to be afraid of you too, but I couldn't be afraid of you. Never... I Iike you so much..." She wasn't crying, her tears were slow and barely active. She had to be strong, she was going to be a hero. Setsuna held them back.
He could feel her emotions to some extent but, to hear it so emotionally charged... Izuku sorrowed, knowing at one point his dear Setsuna was afraid… it was a great pain for him.
He sighed before reigning on his emotions.
The orange eyed teen always knew something was up, a lot of moments she looked like she wanted to say something to him. He didn't possibly imagine it was about her having dreams or premonitions of his true nature, right now she needed reassurance. They'd get to the bottom of it later, they had to be careful.
"I guess all I can do is be truthful from now on, and hope I can regain your trust..." She looked down and rubbed her arm timidly.
The nuclear-incarnate teen approached, the sounds of his footfalls echoing across the quiet courtyard.
Izuku already trusted her, being afraid of his reaction was not a bad reason to keep it from him. She wanted him to know, know what she knew. It hurt his soul to see her doubt how much he cared, Izuku had to convince Setsuna that he didn't care. The reptilian teen hated to see her like this, her confidence was one of her greatest features, he hated to see her doubt herself.
The reptilian stood right in front of her, almost touching together as his shadow fell over Setsuna's vision
Setsuna
She looked up, her glistening green eyes meeting orange as she tilted her head.
Izuku smiled at her, a peaceful expression on his face as his eyes conveyed his complete emotion, the orange dusk only enriching his own orbs. Setsuna blushed and started smiling softly "Of course, what am I doing almost crying like this? You're Goji, my Izuku. You don't hold grudges…" She returned his smile, the way she said his name made his heart flutter.
The orange eyed teen was still out of his depth, not knowing what to do and when to do it when it came to many things. But when it came to physical comfort? It was instinctual.
The orange eyed teen gently took hold of the back of her head and placed her against his chest, wrapping his left arm around her back as she was smothered into his chest.
She didn't resist, wrapping her own arms around his back and being careful not to disturb his dorsal plates, she released a sigh of relief as his head rested on hers, they fit perfectly together.
"Hm." She hummed as they stood there in the courtyard, her green dress swaying softly with the wind.
"I missed this a lot." She mumbled into his chest as she inhaled the saltwater scent she'd come to cherish, the orange eyed teen's fingers gently seeped through her green locks in a comforting motion as they rocked silently in the orange dusk.
The two separated after a moment, Setsuna gained a determined confident visage again. The reptilian teen's heart fluttered again at the return of her normal attitude.
"Just one more week lizard boy, we're gonna take this place by storm ya hear?" She was exuberant.
The orange eyed teen clenched his fist and pumped it in the air, nodding with a smile on his face. It was time to take the first step, his motivation evolved from mere instincts to a concrete goal in the span of several months.
Setsuna suddenly had a shocked expression before she fished through her clothes for something, "Almost forgot something, one sec." She took out an object and held it in front of his face.
A… Mobile device?
Prologue: Complete
TornadoX: I'm glad it hits close to home, Godzilla is my number one favorite fictional franchise on this earth and my hero academia has such an easy world to write into (With good untapped and underhanded themes as well). If you think what I've done in the last chapters is super interesting just wait, I'm nowhere near finished with it. Love it, thanks for the review.
Cheerfulreaper: Damn… I pride myself on being tough but a dude gotta shed a few tears sometimes, thank you for the kind words and review. YOU make it worth it.
Ranger McAleer: Thanks again yo, and yeah but not quite yet. The buildup will get there, and yes most stories where Izuku has a new power he uses some semblance of his strongest attack to take down the zero pointer but not only would that have massive ramifications for Izuku as a character (by my design at least), there is no way they'd be able to cover it up reasonably and I don't plan on it being revealed for a while now. Plus, I gave a small sample of his full power (yes, small) that his fully transformed humanoid form couldn't handle without going into a whole ass coma, I imagine if he could possibly use a similar attack to the one used in Musustafu it would kill him (and the air detonation would kill everyone else, lol). Also, what do you mean by Godzilla Earth? The form I imagine when writing is a combination between IDW Godzilla Heisei Godzilla and Legendary Godzilla. Not sure what you mean by that, he's a separate continuity not a form. Or did you mean destructive power? The initial chapter was a reference to the fact that in one IDW comic (I forgot which) Godzilla is fighting Ghidorah and straight up nukes washington DC and levels the entire city (seriously it's awesome). There's also GMK where Godzilla was powerful enough to create an atomic blast with his breath, we didn't see the aftermath of that though. Point is he strong as hell, enough of my rambling, you get what I mean.
SonicMax: Not sure what you want here, there obviously has to be conflict to a story and all. I assure you will never feel like Izuku is "too weak". In fact, I'm more worried about the opposite given my plans for the future of this story. If I left things as were and just had Izuku change while the rest of the world remained static then it wouldn't be very challenging, I'd have to nerf him and you don't nerf the goddamn king of monsters.
Nabe-Chan: We'll see, I'm not revealing everything I want off the bat. My explanation is for now that because he used such a powerful attack without transforming, the strain it placed on his human body was too great. You see Izuku has all the power already, he just has to transform to use it all which will make him immensely powerful yes but story wise it's not ideal and there are caveats practically as well. The fact is while his power is immense in his fully transformed state, you can obviously infer there would be unwanted devastation if he were to use it willy nilly. That's the kinda dynamic I've been going with so far, he is possibly the strongest being on Earth but the ramifications of using that power are too great, for now. As I said I'll reveal more as time goes on, stay tuned.
losteverything: Thanks bro! I'm steadily updating the story more and more every day, making sure not to burn myself out.
EndlessChains: Damn man, your reviews are always so constructive. It gives me a perspective on what I did well and such, glad you still see my story positively. I do a lot of reflection on the things I write, most of what you guys see isn't the first draft of what I wrote so seeing the changes I made reflected in reviews is always cool. Thank you for the review, I'll keep trying to uphold that quality.
Locomodo2178654: Thanks! don't worry about me not finishing, I already have the entire plot planned out in advance. Updates take 1-2 weeks because I'm not only constantly revising my story, writing multiple chapters, but I also have work, highschool and a fitness regimen so I can't spend every waking hour writing. However I do get a lot done every time I sit down and write, it's just gonna take some time. And this way I don't get burnt out (common mistake I've seen from writers is they update everyday for the first few chapters in an initial burst of passion but then get burnt out and lose interest in the story.) Anyways, thanks for the review.
Fearcubrick: Gojizuku? Izuzilla? Midorizilla? Haha, thanks. I hope to make the one actually good Godzilla Izuku story, time will tell if yall love the direction I'm going but lord am I excited to write it. We have barely tapped the surface of what I plan to do with this story.
FearfulFan1987: Holy shit man, thanks. Everytime I open up a review I expect critique, but every single time it's always praise… I can't handle it, But thank you anyway. I'll never get sick of reading your guy's reviews. And hey, we have almost 100 followers so we getting there. Don't know how far this story will go but 100 follows is already blowing my mind. And haha, just wait until next chapter my friend, stay tuned and Godbless.
RickRich809: Haha, while Shin Godzilla likely has the most impressive destructive scene in the assortment of films, like I said. Godzilla has done things like blow up the entirety of Washington DC in a single go in the comics. My take on Godzilla (Izuku) is a combination of many iterations, but Shin isn't one of them.
Thanks for the ton of reviews, on to the rant:
Welp, that was short. By the time you see this chapter I should be partially done with the next few chapters, which will all be larger than this one and the last one. This is probably the shortest my chapters will ever be, I like to be insanely detailed with my descriptions of scenes so you won't find shit describing the battle overall, I'll personally describe every action taken in a battle with fine detail. Not too much detail of course because that's a chore to read, but enough where you could decently picture the battle in your head.
A large part of me wanted to add more build-up to this chapter, but I feel like if I don't get a move on we'll be sitting at 100k words before we actually get to the main plot. How do you guys feel about the coma? Kinda took it from Shin Godzilla seeing as when he used his breath for the first time he went into a comatose state as well, but trust me that is the only slight influence from that incarnation. I promise. There are very real drawbacks to his power, and it also serves as a way for me to skip the wait time between the exams and UA.
Now the prologue is over, we are finally getting to UA, one part of me wanted to build up to UA like I've seen a lot of people do. Going 100k words in before reaching UA, hell some even longer. But truthfully I find myself losing interest in stories that shift too far from the canon without really making it connect within the context story and world of MHA, I'm going to shift from canon of course but I want to maintain the themes of MHA or in some places upgrade the themes, I'll be adding themes of my own as well.
Anyways, more romantic shit don't know if I'm going overboard with it but I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would when I initially planned this story as a pure action romp with little character interaction. Next chapter will be filled with new character interactions and a little actual action, and some cool stuff, I wonder what's gonna happen now that All Might isn't teaching at UA? gonna introduce some shit that I've yet to see be done in a story. Tell me what you think, later nerds.
