Chapter 56– Led by Mathew, Ruby's group moves towards the facility. On their way, they stumble upon the slaughtered remains of CC guards.
Blake's group moves deeper in Aegis. After finding more pagan symbols that trigger horrible memories, they reach the forest altar. There, they are attacked by the gargantuan Arachnea Broodmother and her hive.
After a desperate struggle, they succeed to blow up the monster, at the cost of them collapsing all together.
Chapter 57– Weiss and Kendrick escort Wenge in the building, where the Grimm feast on Carmel's men. They manage to save a few, but then Sophia shoots Weiss from behind. Kendrick jumps and takes the bullet.
Sophia leaves dying Kendrick and crying Weiss behind. She unleashes all her emotions and summons the Valkraghast, tearing down the wolves but falling to the Morkvind; the stag-headed Grimm. As it moves to kill them, Ruby suddenly appears between the monster and her friend.
Chapter 58– Ruby fights against the Morkvind. The monster gives her a tough fight, but she manages to keep it away, giving Weiss enough time to properly bid Kendrick farewell, before the monster suddenly leaves.
Blake, Yang and Ilia wake up in the altar, restrained by Fenris. The wolf man explains how he has always been an acolyte of the Eldergrimm and then leaves them to be eaten by the Morkvind. Luckily, Alex and Albus appear before the monster and set them free to run away as it attacks.
Chapter 59– The expanded Blake's group runs up the wooded hill trying to escape the monstrosity. Its power is so immense that it forces them to get sealed inside a tunnel in order to escape its hunt.
They walk inside the tunnel, finding out old religious carvings and runes terrifyingly similar to Weiss' glyphs. They finally stumble upon an eerie underground temple, surrounded by houses, bathed in a green light.
Chapter 60– Ruby and Weiss have Mathew escort the CC survivors and Kendrick's body back to Robyn Hill. Then, they enter the forest as well, troubled by Fenris and Carmel's apparent connection to magic.
Meanwhile, Fenris leads a part of his men inside the same underground cave that Blake's team found. Sophia and Wenge are ahead of them all, moving into the temple where Azure's Grimm-controlling liquid and the Eldergrimm Alginos are. Much to her horror, she is proven mistaken.
Chapter 61– Blake leads her group into investigating the village. They find out monoliths similar to the ones in the altar and enough evidence to theorize this place was a pilgrimage area used by faunus to worship the Eldergrimm the cat girl believes is sealed inside the temple.
Their investigation is cut short by Sophia Carmel's furious shouting and Fenris' group attacking them. Blake and Ilia enter the temple to find the CEO, while the rest engage the wolf faunus' forces.
Chapter 62– Furious about the tomb of Alginos being opened and the Eldergrimm missing, Sophia is confronted by Fenris.
He reveals that he was a cultist of the Old Ways that worshipped the Eldergrimm all along and he used his apprentice Dahlias to infiltrate the cult. He also explains how he fed Alginos' power to the Morkvind.
A battle erupts between Sophia, Wenge and Fenris. Blake and Ilia soon join them and as the fight turns bloody, Wenge uses his power to let Sophia escape- only for her to stumble upon Weiss in the exit.
Chapter 63- Ignoring Sophia's taunts and wordplay, Weiss defeats the woman. Blake and Ilia knock out Wenge, but Fenris activates his power and transforms into a powerful werewolf, knocking down Ilia at once.
Yang, Alex and Albus face off Ed, Sen and Baz Spot respectively. A brutal fight resolves by the faunus' defeat and the arrival of Ruby who helps her sister take down the remaining of Fenris' forces.
Chapter 64– Weiss runs to assist Blake protecting Ilia. Another bloody fight begins and is only finished with the death of Gray Fenris at the pale girl's hands.
Sophia tries to run out of the tunnel, reminiscing of her past; her father had killed himself due to her mother's unfaithful nature and how she had forced the woman to commit suicide by accidentally triggering her semblance. As she exits, she stumbles upon the Morkvind feasting.
Weiss receives a call from Sophia, who thanks her for being there as her last company before she takes her own life. RWBY along with Alex and Albus reunite and then formulate a plan to take on the huge Grimm.
Chapter 65– Blake and Weiss execute the first stage of the plan, luring the Morkvind to an open plaza in the village. There, the second stage is being carried out, with Yang joining them in fighting it head-on.
As they fight Ruby, seated on a nearby rooftop, activates her rifles' new rail gun function and blasts the monster away. It immediately recovers and utilizes more magic, calling forth a massive Beowolf horde.
Meanwhile, Albus and Alex use the boy's shadow control semblance to get the survivors out of the place, always according to Ruby's plan.
Chapter 66– RWBY runs across the village slaughtering any Beowolf the Morkvind sends upon them. They manage to divert the horde away and then find an opening to the exit- only for the Grimm to block their path.
Support comes with the arrival of Atlas' robots, commanded by Robyn and the Aceops. The monster sends waves of vines upon them, tearing the machines to pieces, and managing to take a hold on Yang.
Running out of patience, Weiss activates her glyphs. They resonate with the cave runes, allowing her to summon a powerful Hydra Grimm. With its help, they all escape alive and seal the tunnel behind them, trapping it in- but not before Ruby manages to see its hideous transformation.
Chapter 67– One month has passed since the incident. CC has been sold to the SDC as a result of Sophia's death. Weiss has received the eye transplant and everyone in Moose's house is getting ready to celebrate.
The true celebration begins when Weiss surprises them all by proposing to Yang and asking her to help her in the new path she intends to carve, with the new Schnee-Xiao long huntress emblem she has created.
The next day, RWBY stops by the cemetery to pay respects to Sophia, Kendrick and Winter. Weiss finds Whitley there again and manages to reconcile with him under the love they both share for their lost sister.
Chapter 68– With Whitley's help, Weiss and Yang sneak in the Schnee manor where Weiss reconciles with her mother.
Investigating the family archives, they find out that Nicholas Schnee not only had found traces of Grimm worship in the old faunus cities but he also had used old magic to infuse his semblance with.
Blake and Ruby meet with Peros and Wenge. As per Sophia's dying wish the men help them recover essential data about the Grimm-controlling concoction as well as its manufacturer's name; Professor Azure.
Chapter 69– RWBY is getting ready to return to Vale. They bid farewell to Ilia and Mathew, now both assistants of the Happy Huntresses and tasked with leading the team monitoring the Morkvind in Aegis Forest.
In the cult, Carmel's death and Dahlias' betrayal has created a series of problems. Lumia has tracked Azure's location and Bistre is forced to dispatch Cherry to assist him in order to focus on his own task at hand.
In Vacuo, Maize and Alizar team up with Stella Taupe and Robert Ink to search for the Eldergrimm Tephrus and get ready for RWBY's meddling as they think neither Azure nor Bistre will be able to stop them.
