Zuko walks through the gates of U.A two days after he had accepted his fathers offer to take a modified entrance exam, he hasn't contacted Azula since their lunch too caught up in filling out paperwork, collecting his transcripts, and designing a hero costume for himself and in the back of his mind, he's a little worried about her reactions.
"Zuko todoroki?" A voice asks and he looks towards it seeing the pro hero midnight leaning against the gate.
"If you would follow me I'll lead you to testing ground A, Nedzu put together a special test for you today and I can't wait to see how you perform cutie." She leads Zuko across the campus to the changing room and he changes into clothing similar to what he wore during his stay at the air temple walking out.
"Bold, most students go for a tracksuit. I like it." she tells him, leading him out and to the front gate.
"Takedown as many as you can in five minutes," she says handing him a printout with the point system. He glances it over before handing it back.
"Im ready."
"Alright then begin," she says and the timer starts zuko reacting instantly and rushing into the arena running into a two-pointer and jumping upbringing a flaming foot down and slamming the bot into the concrete floor crushing its head, landing easily and keeping up his spirit. Forming a flame dagger in his palm and rushing the one pointer in front of him shoving it thorough its lense and pushing off of it and forming a ball of fire in the air and sending it through a three-pointer forming a flame whip and ducking the swing of one of the bots swinging it through a Two and a one.
In the Viewing room nedzu and midnight watch zuko test.
"He's magnificent with his quirk isn't he?" midnight asks, licking her lips.
"He wields it like a martial artist uses their hands, It's very reminiscent of Class one A's Azula isn't it?"
"They do bear a strange resemblance, Goldeneyes and pitch-black hair."
"They even registered their quirks under the same name, although todoroki Only registered his Three days ago."
"Oh, a mystery then. How fun." she looks at the scorekeeper seeing Thirty.
"I do believe it's time to see how he responds to overwhelming odds, To see if he has what it takes to be a hero." nedzu says pressing the button to release the zero pointer picking up a walkie-talkie.
"Yagi are you ready?"
"I'm in position nedzu." All Might responds.
Zuko hears the city begin to shake and turns towards the noise to see a Building size robot rampaging towards him, He turns to run when he hears it.
"Please help me!" a deep voice yells and he turns to see a sickly blond man with a massive Piece of building laying over his leg. He turns back running towards the man sliding to a stop on his knees and trying to lift the building.
"Oh thank kami, Please save me young hero!" the man yells and Zuko can hear the robot getting closer.
"Why are you even out here?!" Zuko demands looking at the man
"I got lost?" The man lies and even Zuko thinks it's bad. He looks up to see the robot closer, only a few of its massive clunky steps away and he stands rushing into the alleyway.
"He left me?" yagi asks confused disappointed in the youth watching the zero pointer approaching and waiting for the alarm to end the test when he sees a shadow pass over him and the kid launches himself off of the edge his arms forming an arch on each side of him bringing them together in front of him and forming a massive bolt of electricity throwing it into the body of the zero pointer the electricity running through it and wreaking havoc on the circuitry the zero pointer tensing up before falling backwards smashing against the ground zuko flying through a window on one of the buildings, across from the building he had started on. All Might grins, Seeing the potential in Zuko. Zuko comes out the door in time to see yagi press a button and Hydraulics embedded in the rock lifts itself off of yagi's leg.
"A set up?" zuko asks him confused and yagi grins down at him.
"You'll understand in a little bit, young zuko." the alarm sounds.
"But first let's head towards the front, the test is over for today." yagi tells him before walking off towards the employee exit. Zuko walks out finding midnight waiting for him.
"Normally We'd send you a letter in a few weeks but Nedzu wants you to Join the class on an Exercise tomorrow so be here at the start of the school day.
"So I got in?"
"You did more than get in, You've excelled. Your performance was exhilarating zuko."
"Thanks?".
"Oh, you're very welcome Zuko."
Zuko shows up to an alarm the next morning, Dressing in the U.A uniform and walking into the kitchen to find Shoto eating last night's leftovers, he looks up seeing zuko and freezing up with chopsticks halfway to his mouth.
"Is this a joke?" he deadpans.
"No, You're looking at the newest member of Class 1.A"
"Mineta." he notes aloud as zuko goes to the fridge.
"You don't have a quirk, How did you get in?"
"I Didn't want our father to know that he had another son thats fire was stronger than his, I wanted him to believe that he produced a quirkless son." Shoto nods at that.
"But i am sorry that i let him get to you, I promised touya i wouldn't show him and i thought I was honoring him but i failed you." shoto says nothing going back to eating zuko eats too the two of them leaving together and taking the same train to U.A Zuko following shoto towards class 1.A walking through the door together finding a green-haired teen and a blue-haired one with glasses. The blue-haired student jumps to his feet walking towards the front.
"I am sorry but you are in the wrong classroom, This is 1A."
"Im Transferring in, I was told to be here at the beginning of class."
"Oh, You must be Mineta's replacement, his showing during the battle simulations was disgraceful and I am glad they chose to expel him. I am tenya Iida It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, I am Todoroki zuko."
"Todoroki Zuko." he returns and Tenya looks between the two.
"Todoroki as in…"
"Were brothers." shoto adds before walking towards his seat.
"Where did this meneta sit?"
"Right here, They took his desk and burnt it I believe so this one is brand new.." Tenya tells him to gesture to a desk.
"Thank you Iida." he says, sitting down and Iida returns to the desk a familiar pink-skinned girl walks in freezing up when she sees him.
"It's you!" she screams gesturing to him. Rushing across the room placing her hands on the desk and leaning forward.
"Azula wouldng tell me anything about you, So what's your name pretty boy?"
"I'm zuko, And I believe you are Mina?" she grins at him,
"Zula talked about me."
"She lets you call her Zula?" the door opens again and he looks up to see her frozen in the doorway.
"Zu-zu?" she asks, confused.
"Zuzu?" he hears his brother whisper to himself in the back of the room as Azula walks over to him.
"I thought you said it was impossible?" is the first thing she asks sounding smug.
"An opportunity arose."
"Is that why i couldn't get in contact with you?" she asks and zuko feels like he's in the middle of an Agni kai arena.
"I was busy, I had to fill out paperwork, Gather my transcripts and take an entrance exam in the span of three days."
"I suppose I can forgive you, but don't let it happen again." she says, moving to sit in the desk behind him the rest of the class funneling in as the bell rings Aizawa walking in a few moments later.
"Yes, we have a new student class. But today isn't the day for introductions please grab your case and meet me out front." he presses a button and the back wall opens up revealing briefcases, Two of them more like crates.
"Zuko you are number 13," he says before leaving the room the class standing and making their way to the back Zuko finding one of the crates as number 13 picking it up and following the class out towards the locker rooms, He sets down the chest and finds a very familiar set of armor pulling off his uniform and hanging it up.
"So how did you manage to transfer in?" someone finally asks.
"He was probably so weak that he didn't make the cut till they got rid of that Grapeist '' bakugou mocks as Zuko pulls his armor over his head beginning to tie it ignoring him.
"Hey that just like Azula's outfit." a feminine voice yells and he looks up seeing a peephole in the wall.
"Mina!" a voice yells and a plaster-like substance fills the peephole patching it. Zuko forces it out of his mind tying the straps at the side of his armor glad to find it exactly how he had specified pulling out the final piece, A golden replica of Rokus headpiece. He puts his hair into a topknot with it on turning to see his brother looking at him, His mind moving a mile a minute and Zuko is almost afraid of What twisted way he would shove the puzzle pieces into place. The group leaves the room meeting back up with some of the girls as they make their way towards the exit, Zuko coming to walk beside Azula Both wearing their royal fire nation armor, black and gold with small accents of scarlet.
