"Sean we landed. we have to go," said Dakota.
"Oh, right." Said Sean. They plus Ruby and Yang left the airship and got a good look at beacon. It was beautiful, to say the least, especially the tower in the center of it all. "The view from Vale's got nothing on this," Yang commented.
"Yeah, this place looks amazing," Chris said. Ruby looked around and saw a few other students and started gawking at their weapons.
"Oh Sis that guy's got a collapsible staff." ruby said, looking like a smaller version of herself. "Oh and she has a fire sword." she started floating toward them but yang pulled her back.
"What was that?" Dakota asked, very confused.
"She's kind of a dork when it comes to weapons," Yang said.
"I can relate. I'm kind of a dork with monsters though," Sean said
"Anyway, sis, they're just weapons," Yang said
"Just Weapons?!" Ruby said. "They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!
"Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?" Yang asked.
"Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose. I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people but better." Ruby said, pulling out her weapon. What confused the Quartet is that she named her weapon. Yang playfully pulled the hood on her cloak over Ruby's head and said.
"Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own," Yang suggested.
"But, why would I need friends if I have you guys?" Ruby asked.
"Well...actually my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. kay, see ya, bye!" Yang said really quickly as she dashed down the road with the crowd and left Ruby in a daze.
"Wait, where are you going?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms?" Ruby said in a daze. "I don't know what I'm doing..."
Ruby fell over into a pile of luggage knocking it over and a woman with snow-white hair and pale blue eyes came up. She was wearing a thigh-length strapless dress, a bell sleeve bolero, a small apple pendant, white wedge-heeled boots, and a pouch around her waist. "What are you doing?!" She yelled.
"Should we stick around?" Hailey whispered to sean.
"Yeah, I feel like we should," Sean whispered back.
"Uh, sorry," Ruby said, trying to get back up.
"Sorry?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?!" The girl said as Ruby was getting up
"Uhh," Ruby said, holding one of the cases in her hand.
"Give me that." She said as she pulled the canister out of ruby's hand. "This is Dust-mined and purified from the Schnee quarry."
Ruby was still a little dazed so the girl continued on her tirade. "What are you brain-dead?!" she said as she pulled a canister out and started shaking it in front of Ruby. "Dust! Fire, wind, water, lighting, energy!"
"I...know," Ruby sneezed and caused a small explosion which caused Chris and Dakota to laugh.
"Unbelievable! This was exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!" the girl yelled.
"I'm really, really sorry!" Ruby apologized.
"Ugh, you complete dolt! What are you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending beacon?" The girl continued. It was then Sean decided to step in.
"Alright, break it up people," Sean said, getting their attention.
"And what about this concerns you?" The girl said condescendingly.
"Well being honest you are kind of screaming at an acquaintance of mine," Sean said.
"She blew us up!" The girl screamed.
"Because you were shaking a vial of dust right in front of her causing her to sneeze," Sean retorted. "Now I'm not an expert on dust, but I feel like your actions were unsafe. Besides, I'm not going to reprimand her for something that wasn't her fault. You seem a little entitled to think I would."
The girl pulled out her weapon which was a rapier with a revolver cylinder between the blade and hilt and pointed it at Sean. "How dare you call me entitled?!" she said. Chris ran up and pulled out his maces defending Sean.
"Don't you dare princess!" Chris said in anger.
"It's heiress actually," A woman said which got everyone's attention. She had black hair and amber eyes. She was wearing a black vest with coattails. underneath is a white sleeveless, high-necked, crop undershirt. She also had white shorts, black boots with stockings, a black scarf, and a magnetic backpack. What got the attention of one of the quartets was the bow on the top of her head. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee dust company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."
"Finally some recognition," Wiess said smugly.
"The same company infamous for its controversial labor law and questionable business partners." The girl continued.
"Wha- how dare- the nerve of-...ugh" Weiss tried to say while Ruby and the Hart brothers were chuckling. Weiss walked away and ruby looked over in her direction
"I promise I'll make it up to you!" she shouted. The girl with the bow walked up to Chris and slapped him.
"What was that for!" Chris said.
"You shouldn't draw your weapon on another student. You could have gotten kicked out." the girl said.
"What, a guy can't defend his friend?!" Chis said back. The girl walked away before he finished his sentence.
"I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day." Ruby said then started laying on her back. "Welcome to beacon."
Sean was trying to calm Chris when a guy walked up to Ruby. he had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a black short-sleeved hoodie. On top of that, he had a chest plate and spaulders on his shoulders. He had blue jeans and black sneakers. He had two brown belts with pouches on them, brown wrist-length fingerless gloves with plates on the back. "Hey," he said, holding his hand out to Ruby "I'm Jaune."
"Ruby" Taking his hand getting up. Sean had finished cooling Chris off and Hailey and Dakota walked up to them. Ruby and Jaune also walked to them. "Everyone this is Jaune."
"Isn't that the guy that threw up on the ship," Dakota asked.
"That's what I said," Ruby said. Over the time they walked Jaune was saying that motion sick is more common than people realize.
"All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people realize," Jaune said.
"Look I'm sorry! Vomit boy was the first thing that came to mind," Ruby said, defending herself while laughing.
"Oh yeah what if I call you crater face," Jaune said.
"Hey, that explosion was an accident!" Ruby said.
"Can we please change the subject?" Dakota asked, having enough of this. The other three were fed up as well.
"So, I have this thing," Ruby said, pulling out her weapon. Everyone besides Sean was astounded.
"Is that a scythe?" Jaune asked.
"It's also a customizable high-impact sniper rifle," said Ruby.
"What?" said Jaune.
"It's also a gun," Ruby said, cocking it.
"That's pretty cool," Chris said.
"So what do you guys have?" Ruby asked. Everyone decided that Jaune would go first. He pulled out his weapon.
"I...uh have this sword" Jaune said as Ruby was in anticipation but Sean and others weren't impressed. He pulled out his sneath and it formed into a shield. "Yeah, and I have this shield too."
"What does it do?" Ruby said touching the shield. The shield then collapsed again and he started fumbling with it when he got a good hold of it again and put it back.
"The shield gets smaller so when I get tired of carrying it I can just...put it away," jaune stated.
"Wouldn't the weight be the same though?" Hailey asked.
Yeah, it would" Jaune said dejectedly.
"What about the rest of you?" Ruby asked. The others showed off their weapons one by one and explained what they were. Ruby also asked if they had names and they replied they didn't know they needed to have a name which shocked Ruby. Dakota then asked why she wanted to see their weapons.
"Well, as stated I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons. It's probably why I went overboard when designing it." Ruby said. This shocked the group immensely
"Hold on, you made that?!" Chris said shocked.
"Of course, all students at signal forge their own weapons," Ruby said. "Didn't you make yours?"
"Mine is a hand-me-down. My great-great-grandfather used it to fight in the war," Jaune explained.
"Sounds like a family heirloom to me. Well, I like it, not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days." Ruby said.
"Yeah, the Classics," Jaune said, sheathing his sword.
"What about you four?" ruby asked. They looked at each other and wondered what they should answer until Sean spoke up.
"We were given our weapons by a very famous person from where we come from," Sean Explained. "He saw huge potential in us."
"Oh, so why did you guys help me out back there?" Ruby asked.
"Eh, why not? My mom always said the strangers are just friends you haven't met yet." Jaune said. Hailey looked around confused.
"Hey, where are we going?" Hailey asked
"I don't know I was following you guys." Jaune Replied. "Do you think there is some kind of recognizable landmark?"
"Not that I see," Ruby said. They eventually found out where they were supposed to be and headed where the rest of the students were, which was in the auditorium.
"Ruby!" Everyone heard Yang yell. "I saved you a spot!"
"Oh hey, I got to go," Ruby said to them and started to leave. "I'll see you all after the ceremony"
"Hey wait," Jaune said then sighed. "Great where am I supposed to find another nice quirky girl to talk to."
"You are aware that we're still here, right?" Sean asked.
"Oh, yeah," Jaune said. They found a spot and just chatted about things with each other until someone came over and pulled Sean's ear and started dragging him with her which caused the rest to follow.
"You!" the person yelled and Sean immediately knew who it was. She let go of Sean. and Ruby jumped up into Yang's arms.
"Oh, ohm it's happening again!" She panicked.
"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Weiss yelled scoldingly. Yang quickly started putting two and two together.
"Oh my ohm you actually exploded," Yang said in shock.
"It was an accident," Ruby said while getting off of yang. Weiss pulled out a pamphlet and shoved it in her face. "What's this?"
Weiss then began to explain how the Schnee dust company was not responsible for injuries, but Sean zoned out halfway through. "You really want to start making things up to me?"
"Absolutely?" Ruby said, confused.
"Read this and don't ever speak to me again," Weiss said and started pointing at sean. "And you!"
"Okay, What did I do to deserve you dragging me by my ear?!" Sean questioned.
"Well you were very rude to me and your friend tried to attack me," Weiss said. Yang and Ruby were quiet.
"First of all, You were being rude yourself, and you drew your weapon first. Chris was just defending me." Sean retorted. "Don't think that you're Mrs. Perfect. You got flaws just like the rest of us. It's just one of your flaws that is starting to piss me off."
"Woah, it looks like you all just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends? Okay." Yang said, trying to defuse the situation.
"Yeah, great idea sis!" Ruby said, as she held out her hand and cleared her throat. "Hello, Weiss, I'm Ruby. Want to hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies."
"Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys like tall, blonde, and scraggly over there" Weiss said with sarcastic enthusiasm, but she did catch Jaune's attention.
"Wow, Really," Ruby said with hope.
"Uh Ruby she's being sarcastic," Sean said, calmed down. It was then they heard a mic with Glynda and Ozpin on the stage. Ozpin began speaking
"I'll...keep this brief," Ozpin said. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Ozpin walked away from the mic and glynda took over.
"You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow your initiation begins. Be ready." Glynda announced.
"He seemed kind of...off," Yang stated.
"It's...like he wasn't even there," Ruby said. Jaune then walked up to us.
"I'm a natural blonde you know," He said to Weiss which caused her to facepalm.
A few hours later, all the students were in the ballroom. Sean, Chris, Hailey, and Dakota were mainly chatting about random stuff until they went to sleep. They were ready for the next days big event.
