A few days after that, Amity and Luz were in the human's room at The Owl House working on a project that Amity had come up with.
"Are you sure this will work?" asked Luz as she wore two leather gloves. Stitched on the right handed glove were all of her known ruins. The light glyph was on the back of the glove while the others were on the tips of her fingers.
"Demon hide is the strongest material on the Boiling Isles, if anything can hold up to the power of those glyphs then it should," said Amity.
"Alright, here goes nothing," said Luz as she touched the light glyph with her right hand's index finger.
"Whoa," said Luz as a sphere of light left the glove without destroying it like it had normally done to everything else Luz ever tried it on.
"You're a genius, Amity!" said Luz as she hugged the other girl with the biggest smile Amity had yet to see her have.
"I'm going to have to get used to you hugging me more, aren't I?" asked Amity who was blushing as Luz continued to hug her.
"You'll also have to get used to this," said Luz before kissing Amity.
"Oh, I came at a bad time, hoot hoot," said Hooty from the window which scared the two into breaking apart.
"You had better have a good reason for this you stupid creature," said Amity who was ready to attack Hooty at any minute.
"Eda and Lilith are ready out front for Luz's training," said Hooty before slithering back out the window.
"I'm seriously going to burn that thing one of these days," said Amity to which Luz gave a nervous chuckle.
"Come on, let's go to practice," said Luz as she held her hand out.
"As much as I would love to hold your hand, I can't," said Amity as she stood up with her crutches under her arms.
"Oh, right, maybe I need to find a healing glyph next time," said Luz while they left her room.
