Anderson and Donovan were in the local coffee shop. Lestrade had given them a break after a tough case. Also after dealing with Sherlock the whole day, it was nice to have sometime without him! Anderson had gone with a coffee with two shots of toffee and Donovan had had a latte with a shot of chocolate. Lestrade said he would pay for them later as long as they didn't have too much.

"I can't believe the inspector let us do this." Anderson said between sipping what was left of the coffee.

"He's changed for the better by the looks of it. Time in hospital changes people." Donovan swirled her spoon around the cup.

"Maybe we should send Sherlock to it then."

Donovan gave Anderson a disapproving look. She might not like Sherlock but she could just about cope with him. Anderson just went back to drinking his coffee instead of trying to make Donovan even more mad. Anderson got a text and answered it.

"Who's that?" Donovan asked.

Anderson looked weirdly at the phone. Donovan knew the silence meant something was wrong. She moved closer to try and see what the text read.

"It's Sherlock. He needs to see us." Anderson finally answered, a frown spreading across his face.

"The freak needs us?!" Donovan chuckled.

Anderson nodded, grabbing his coat and heading out of the door. Donovan moaned about her latte, quickly drank it and followed him out of the door.

Anderson and Donovan rushed into Baker Street, straight past Mrs Hudson without a word and up the stairs where John met them at the door. He didn't look too happy and he looked more stressed than usual. Both of them knew the wedding was taking its toll but something looked like it was stressing him more. True it was probably Sherlock being a drama queen again!

"We got a text. Sherlock needs us?" Donovan sounded like she was almost questioning the text.

"He's in there." John mumbled under his breath.

Anderson stayed with John as Donovan went to see what Sherlock wanted. Anderson rubbed John on the back seeing him become more and more worried about something.

"What's the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost." Anderson whispered so Sherlock couldn't hear.

"Sherlock is getting on my nerves." John shrugged.

"When isn't he getting on someone's nerves?! No there's something else there." Anderson shook his head.

John sighed loudly. He looked into the apartment and closed the door. Anderson waited for an answer as John began to pace the floor outside the apartment. His footsteps sounded very loud and it sounded like John meant to make them sound like that.

"The speech. Lestrade tried to help and now it sounds like Sherlock thinks Lestrade could do it better." John finally said.

"Oh no. What's Sherlock doing about it?" Anderson worried that Lestrade might end up on the wrong side of Sherlock's rage.

"He might not exactly solve any more cases with Lestrade anymore." John said through gritted teeth.

"WHAT?!" Anderson barged through the door to see Sherlock and try to make sense of the situation.

Sherlock was shocked to see how mad Anderson was. Donovan was quite used to it by now and rolled his eyes at the reaction. Anderson strolled straight up to Sherlock staring him in the eye. Sherlock didn't feel worried about this though as he had seen Anderson mad at him before.

"You won't help solve our cases anymore?" Anderson almost screamed.

"Calm down Anderson." Donovan piped up.

"No. You know John is worried sick about this wedding and you might have made it a hundred times worse?" Anderson continued.

"I know." Sherlock grunted.

Sherlock didn't say anymore then that. Anderson was about to blow his top if Sherlock didn't respond anymore. Donovan knew she might have to step in soon before a full on fight broke out.

"Lestrade only gave you advice on the speech and now you think he might be better to do it?" Anderson calmed a little.

"It's not that. I just don't know if I can do the speech." Sherlock grumbled.

Lestrade was in the morgue after hours for the second time in as many days that week. He was waiting for Molly hoping he wouldn't scare her. He didn't want to go to Baker Street and celebrate the case being solved because he knew Sherlock wouldn't want to see him. Maybe Molly could help and try to get Sherlock on side. The door opened and Molly was on the other side.

"Oh hello inspector." Molly smiled as she saw Lestrade waiting for her.

"I'm sorry to bother you. It's just this seems to be the only place that wants me here." Lestrade sighed.

"Sherlock mad at you?"

"Yeah. I mean that's nothing new but it doesn't seem to be dulling anytime soon."

Molly put what she was carrying down on the table nearest. She cared for Lestrade and wasn't going to leave him when he was in a mood like this especially as Sherlock is involved.

"Greg, is there anything I can do." Molly said softly.

"I need to apologise to Sherlock but he won't even see me. Could you maybe change his mind?" Lestrade stayed hopeful.

"Are you serious? It's Sherlock!" Molly chuckled.

Lestrade chuckled back. Molly was right no one could change Sherlock's mind especially when he was in a bad mood.

"Have you tried to talk to him?" Molly asked hesitantly.

"Not since earlier when we had solved the case." Lestrade shook his head.

"That was hours ago!"

"I know! I just saw a look on his face which put me off." Lestrade brushed his shoulder.

Molly rolled her eyes. Both Lestrade and Sherlock were unbelievable! Even if they didn't admit it, they were very alike in some senses.

"Look I'll talk to him tomorrow and tell you the details." Lestrade said looking down at his watch.

"You'd better or I'll make Donovan tell you about how much of a freak Sherlock is for the whole week." Molly warned.

Lestrade didn't know how to respond to that so just grunted as a reply. Molly tried to keep back a smile as Lestrade left. She knew it was unlikely Sherlock and Lestrade would never chat or solve a case together again but she still wasn't too sure.

Anderson and Donovan were getting on with their work in the office. Mostly writing up the last bits of the case and other stuff they had to do to keep in Lestrade's good books. Lestrade came rushing through the office and headed straight towards his office door. He motioned at them to come in and locked the door behind them.

"Sir are you alright?" Donovan smirked seeing Lestrade shaking.

"Sherlock is after me. John said something last night and now he's looking for me." Lestrade said with a shaky voice.

"Molly said you were going to talk to each other." Donovan thought back to her meeting with Molly earlier that day.

"I did promise her but now I have no idea what I'm going to say." Lestrade begged them.

Donovan and Anderson looked at each other. They knew they were going to have come up with something to tell him. Sherlock wasn't the easiest to talk to since he would think of everything before you could even blink! Before either detective could answer, Sherlock came around the door and looked around the office for them.

"Hide me." Lestrade whispered.

"Where?! There's nowhere in here to hide." Anderson hissed.

"Well I didn't exactly plan out my office for this sort of situation." Lestrade hissed back.

Donovan had had enough of them chatting and quickly stuffed Lestrade into the back cabinet of his office. Anderson leaned on the desk after opening the door. Donovan joined him and they whistled whilst Sherlock came in.

"Where's Lestrade?" Sherlock said.

"Haven't seen him." Anderson and Donovan said in unison.

"You two are lying."

Anderson really wanted to grass Lestrade up. Donovan was holding back the urge to punch Anderson as this would just look weird.

"Don't know what you're talking about." Donovan slightly kicked Anderson.

"Lestrade's jacket is poking out of the cabinet." Sherlock pointed to the cabinet.

Anderson rubbed his forehead as Donovan let Lestrade out of the cabinet. Lestrade was a little taken aback at being put in the cabinet in the first place but quickly saw Sherlock and went back to worried mode.

"Sherlock." Lestrade nodded.

"Detective inspector." Sherlock nodded back.

"Well we have a lot of work to do." Anderson said shepherding Donovan to the door so they could get out.

"Don't…" Lestrade tried to stop them but they were already gone.

This left Sherlock and Lestrade in the office alone. The room was silent for a few moments as both thought about something to say to the other.

"I never meant for you to feel this way Sherlock." Lestrade finally said something.

"Excuse me." Sherlock said.

"You know like you can't be the best man. Anderson said that John told him that you didn't want to be best man anymore after our conversation." Lestrade sat behind his desk.

"John!" Sherlock muttered under his breath.

"Don't blame him. Now I want you to be the best man and I'm sure a lot of other people want you to as well."

"So do I."

"Then show it. Please for the love of God." Lestrade finally smiled.

"Okay." Sherlock muttered.

"What was that? Sorry I'm a bit deaf so can't hear you properly." Lestrade said, leaning forward to hear Sherlock better as a joke.

"I said okay. I agree with you." Sherlock repeated.

"Wow what happened to the Sherlock who never agreed with me?"

Sherlock tutted and didn't even respond to Lestrade. He just left knowing that he had made up with Lestrade. Lestrade stood at the doorway of the CID office feeling glad that he made Sherlock Holmes agree with him
