Hmmmm... nobody got the doctor right yet. But you can still take a guess (or a second guess). Also your reviews motivated me so much I decided to post this chapter earlier! (About a week early) Usually I write one once every month...so I guess miracles do exist. While we are on the topic of miracles, I transferred to a new school about two months ago and somehow my best friend Leo (yes his name is actually Leo) also transferred there. So yeah these two month are the happiest days of my life. Unfortunately, his mom decided to make him move to England(something about better college) and he is leaving in two days. :'( With the time difference and all, I can't even FaceTime with him. I honestly burst out crying over dinner because of it. Which is why now I'm praying to all the Greek gods that his plane tickets will get canceled at the last minute. (Very selfish of me, but he is my BEST friend).
Also Imma reply to reviews now. (I don't usually do that because I don't get a lot of reviews).
Guest- I'm so sorry there's a couple of grammar mistake. I wrote this in the middle of the night when I can't sleep so the quality is down. So sorry. Also commas are my weakness and I honestly can't use them right sometimes. :( Please forgive me.
McShizzleSupreme778- LOL, it's one of my pet peeves as well. Otherwise it's just frustrating to read and a pain in the podex. (Especially for us demigods with dyslexia) Your guesses are VERY close, why don't you take another one(hint included in reply below)? Also I have watched the Thor movies but it was a looooong time ago. I think I know who you're talking about.
Daughterofhades- Slughorn is a really good guess but it isn't right. Here's a hint: professors in HP will be staff members/teachers so the doctor is more on the mythological side. Jennifer is a really good name, maybe I'll use it. Nico is also my favorite character, but I can't add him just yet because I have something special planned for him. Just wait and see. When the time comes, he'll join the rest of the gang at HBU.
Disclaimer: If I was Rick Riordan or J. K. Rowling, I would be rich and probably surfing with dolphins in my private island in the Caribbean. Or writing a new book.
Okay, now that we are done with that...why don't we join Remus on his expedition to the Main Office?
Previously...
A door off to the left opened and two man walked in.
One of the man had a long white beard and had twinkling blue eyes behind a pair of half moon glasses. The way he looked at you, it almost felt like he could read your mind. For some reason, I felt like I could trust him.
The second man was short and chubby with an irritated expression and a red nose that oddly reminded me of Rudolf (did I spell that right?). He annoyedly glanced at me and yawned, before taking a seat at the smaller desk and popped open a can of Diet Coke.
"Randy Limping, so you come here to tell us about your, ah, hairy problem." (A/N-in the HP books, James referred to it as his furry problem. Hairy is a synonym of furry and it also means troublesome, which is quite fitting.) I suddenly felt extremely self conscious and didn't even find enough courage to correct my name.
The man with white beard shot him a look before gesturing for me to take a seat.
"Please excuse my colleague's manners. I'm Albus Dumbledore, the principal, and this is Dionysus (I am 90% sure I spelled that wrong), the vice principal." Dumbledore smiled at me, making me relax a little.
"Diony-wha?" I asked, surprised by the strange name.
"Oh just call me Mr. D." Diony-, I meant Mr. D, rolled his eyes annoyedly. I had a feeling this is not the first time someone got his name wrong. Maybe that's why he never calls others by their correct name, no body ever got his name right.
"Do you know why you're here?" Dumbledore said, moving back on track.
"Yes, you want to know about my condition." I answered.
"Exactly. So can you please tell us about it. Would there be any problem? What would happen? We could help you more if you familiarize us with your condition. We could provide you with whatever is best, even your own dorm room if necessary."
I was really touched. It seemed like they, or at least Dumbledore, really wanted to help me. "No it won't be necessary. My illness got much better when I was around elementary age. Other than the fact that I get very winded easily and can't play any sports, I'm fine. Although once in a while, my muscles will become slightly paralyzed but a hot bath usually helps."
Dumbledore slowly nodded. "So you're all good then. But remember if you need anything, anything at all, just tell us."
I smiled at them and thanked them before exiting.
I glanced at my watch on my way out. It was 8:26 and I will be late for class if I don't hurry. I picked up my speed a little til I was lightly jogging. Already, I was panting. Suddenly, something blonde flashed before my eyes and I crashed into something or someone.
Annabeth's POV
How typical of me to forget my textbook for the first day of school. Thank goodness the architecture building isn't far from the dorm. I checked the clock, five more minutes til class starts but from what I heard, professor Binns won't come until five minutes after class starts. That should give me ample time to fetch my textbooks.
Breaking into a run as I exited the building, I had nothing but my destination in mind. The stress from the recent nightmare and first day of classes combined was enough to crush me. But I fought back. One of the things I learned as I grew up was to never let your anxiety and worries break you. If they broke you, you lost. You lost the fight and may never get up again. That would make you worthless. Besides, anxiety and stress are only in your mind. If you cleared your mind and make it go away, you can start examining the problem from different perspectives and analyze the best way to solve it. Half of your problems are within your mind, you need to focus on the reality.
These were one of the most important lessons I learned. They helped me through a lot and is the only reason I kept a clear mind during hard times. Although that didn't stop me from thinking about the person who taught me that lesson. Luke.
-flashback-
"Luke! Wait up." I called to my best friend. I have known him since I was seven and completely trusted him. He was talking to two other guys from school. Recently, he became more secretive and stopped hanging out with me and Thalia, my other best friend.
As I caught up to him, I recognized the two other guy. Matt and Kyle- the school bullies.
I sawthem pass something to Luke who stuffed it secretively in his pocket. He glanced at me with a cold look I have never seen before. It sent chills down my back. "Annabeth, you should mind yourown business and if anyone asks, you didn't see anything.
I didn't know it at that time, but Luke was taking drugs. He hanged out with the wrong sort of people. He started smoking and drinking. It wasn't long before I completely lost my best friend.
-end flashback-
Last night's nightmare was still fresh in my mind. Luke lying in front of me weak and vulnerable. A knife in my hand. I choice I had to make. Tears filled my eyes as I remember what happened next. Don't be stupid, it's just a nightmare. Just forget it already. I picked up my speed as if the nightmare was something I could run away from. Wiping at my eyes, I didn't watch where I was going.
BAM! I crashed into someone and landed hard on my back. "Ouch..." I groaned. Standing up, I saw that I had bumped into a boy with sandy brown hair and glasses that framed his face quite nicely. He was brushing off his white shirt and was kinda cute in a nerdy way.
"I'm so sorry for bumping-"
"I wasn't watching where I was-"
We said at the same time. Smirking, I beckoned him to go first. He shook his head and gestured for me to go first. After a moment of this, I relented and decided to go first. I guess he was thinking the same thing because...
"I wasn't looking-"
"I'm sorry-"
We burst out laughing. After we finally calmed down, he said, "Alright, I'll go first. I'm really sorry for crashing into you. My name is Remus Lupin by the way."
"I'm Annabeth Chase and I'm very sorry for not looking where I was going." I replied in the mock-serious voice.
"You really are fast, I didn't even see you coming."
"Why thank you. And may I ask why aren't you in class?"
"I had some issues to take care of. How about you, you aren't in class either." I had a feeling he was hiding something but I didn't push.
"I left my architecture textbook in my dorm." An idea came into my mind. "Do you want to get it with me?" I looked at Remus hopefully.
"Sure, my first class is architecture too. It's not part of my major but I take it because I find it fascinating. Won't we be late though?"
I grinned. "Nah, Professor Binns always arrived five minutes late." Together we laughed and talked the rest of the way to the dormitory.
Hello my lovely readers! I apologize profusely about how shitty this filler chapter is. Please understand that I am not in my best condition to write with my best friend gone and all. I promise a better chapter next time. I absolutely suck at writing emotional moments like this. The words just don't come out right.
Anyhoots, YES I AM SHIPPING REMUS WITH ANNABETH! It's weird but somehow fitting...at least to me. Now I know what you are thinking, I ship Percabeth myself. Go check out my profile, it's right up there on my otp list. Percabeth will happen later on. Also I need your help, please help me think of majors for hp characters. Pjo character major are easy because of their godly parent but hp characters are hard. Especially since I know nothing about politics and stuff(since many of them worked in the ministry).
Also thank you all for review/favorite/following this story ~
