Several Months Ago

"You're positive?" Elsa asked the sailor.

He shook his head. "Not entirely, Queen Elsa. Should we go look?"

"No. I won't risk the lives of you and members of our fleet based on whispers and a rumor."

There was hesitance, the guard wanting to say something more. "But, your majesty.. wouldn't it be worth it to see if it's true?"

Now

Iduna was siting in the garden under a large tree, a basket of flowers by her as she began to make flower crowns. Mimi walked over to her, carrying a doll of a reindeer.

"Namnam, what are you doing?" The girl asked, sitting down in front of her.

A gentle smile came from Iduna's face as she looked to the little girl. "I'm making flower crowns, my darling. Would you like one?" She asked, looking at the girl that was smiling.

Mimi nodded with a smile. "Please. And may Venn have one too?" She asked, showing the deer to her.

"Of course." Iduna said with a smile as she extended an arm to her, "come here."

After some time of sitting and running her finger's through the girl's hair, Iduna stopped humming.

"Is it finished, Namnam?" Mimi asked, looking back to Iduna. Only to see her crying. "Are you okay? Why are you crying?"

Iduna wiped her eyes, sniffing. "I.. I'm so sorry, my darling."

"For what?" Mimi asked, reaching a hand up to rest it on her cheek. "You don't gotta be. You're here, with me and mama an' papa 'n Auntie Elsa and Ag'arr."

Iduna hugged her close, sobbing loudly. Moreso in relief than the misery that came to her originally. "Thank you, my darling. Thank you.."

Mimi hummed, gripping her grandmother's dress as she felt the woman crying against her.

Anna sighed, looking on from a distance. "I.." She paused. "I wish I had the words to express this."

A hand rested on her shoulder, that of Gerda. "I understand, Princess." She had no words either, as this was so innocent and sweet despite everything that had happened all those years ago.

A few days later, Iduna was with her family at a small celebration for Agnarr's first birthday.

Agnarr sat on her mother's lap as gifts were being passed to him, the wrapping being torn off to reveal the contents. There was a book of bedtime stories from Gerda, a new pair of boots from Kai, Anna and Kristoff gave him some handcarved ducks and reindeer, a snowglobe from his mother and Iduna gave him a handknit blanket.

All of this was very exciting and now, after the presents were opened and the cake eaten, the birthday boy was wrapped up in his new blanket. Everyone either cooed or chuckled at the boy, snuggled against Elsa's breast, sucking his thumb as he slept.

"Enjoy your sleep now, my love. You did so good today." Elsa said, walking Agnarr to their room so he could be put in his crib to sleep.

"I can't get over how natural you are with him." Iduna said, smiling at her oldest as she walked into the room.

"I learned from the best." Elsa said, turning to look at her mother as her fingers ran through Agnarr's hair.

Iduna shook her head. "I'm far from the best, but your father and I.. we tried our best." Even if it wasn't the best.

"Anna and I forgive you. We understand that you were under stress from what happened and that you acted out with as much love as you had fear for what could have happened." Elsa said, taking Iduna's hand.

Iduna smiled as she had pulled Elsa into a hug. "I love you so much, my snowflake."

Elsa smiled, hugging Iduna back, "I love you too."

It wasn't until Spring gave way to Autumn that news came of the ship that had left.

"Your highness." It was Kai, walking into Elsa's office with a flushed face as he was panting.

"What is it, Kai?" Elsa looked up from her work, which she had taken a break from anyway.

A smile came to Kai's face, "the ship! It.. it was spotted at a harbor in Corona. They were getting some supplies before making their way back."

Elsa sighed in relief. She hoped that the crew would get back safe. "Let's hope they have good news with them." She looked at the window of the study.

"We'll see in two weeks, Queen Elsa." Kai said, trying to sound optumistic. He hoped his old friend was still alive. "Do you still want to keep your mother and sister in the dark about the trip?"

Elsa nodded. "Yes, I don't want their hopes to be crushed if is a failure."

"Even if it means they will not get closure as well, Majesty?" Kai asked, his voice wavering, tetering on the edge of fear in all honestly, for questioning Elsa.

Elsa took a moment to answer him, "you are right Kai.. I have a counsel meeting in an hour, and I will tell them afterwards."

"Let me get this straight," Anna began calmly. "You sent out a crew of sailors last month, based on a rumor, to see if he was still out there?"

Elsa nooded. "Yes, if you are going to be angry, then be angry. You have a right to, for me not mentioning it sooner." She looked from her sister to their mother, who was watching in silence.

"I'm not angry, I'm not disappointd.. I'm just confused a to why you didn't say anything sooner."

A sigh escaped Elsa. "I just.. I wanted to spare you both the heartache. I know it was wrong, and I'm sorry.."

"Don't be." Iduna said, finally speaking. "Considering what your father and I put you girls through, it's understandable." She stood up and walked over to them.

"It is," Anna agreed, "but please just.. say something next time. I was worried that you had been set upon by an assassins and not told us." She said, a nervous smile on her face.

Elsa laughed, looking at them both. "Alright, fair." She gave a small smile, "in two weeks, we'll know."

"Two weeks." Anna said, gripping one of Elsa's hands as their mother went to take the other one.

The day finally came, two weeks later, when Elsa was walking with her son in the courtyard as the leaves changed color and began to fall.

"This is nice, isn't it love?" She cooed, watching as Agnarr tried to reach for the leaves while babbling. "Pretty, aren't they?"

The boy gave a babbling screech in happiness, having almost caught a red falling leaf.

"So close." Elsa praised her son before looking from him to the orange, red and yellow leaves that covered the courtyard. "This time of year.. it's my second favorite."

"-sa! Elsa!" It was Anna, rushing towards them with a large smile on her face.

"Anna, what is it?" Elsa asked, readjusting Agnarr as she turned.

"He's back! It was true!" She was crying, Elsa now seeing her tears.

"H- he's back.." Elsa repeated, slower and in awe. He was home! They could finally all be a family! "Where is he?"

Anna answered her, wiping her eyes, "he's getting a check-up from the doctor. Mama is with him." She smiled widely. "Come on!"

Talking on the way wasn't an option, Elsa holding her son tight as she held her breath. She believed Anna, but she needed to see him before bursting out into tears. And now, as they stopped outside of a closed door, was that time.

"Together." Anna said, raising a hand.

"Together." Elsa raised one as well. And, as they knocked on the door together, she felt herself getting close to crying.

The door opened as Iduna greeted them, tears running down her face as she smiled widely. Wordlessly, she gently ushered them inside, too full of emotions to speak and not wanting to break into another round of sobs so soon before her daughters could see their father.

Anna and Elsa entered, in that order, to see him. He was right there! Well, he was thinner than they remembered and he had a beard and his face around his right eye was scarred, but he could still see with no trouble. But, he was still smiling, still crying tears of joy from the one eye that he had upon seeing them.

"My girls." Were the first two words out of his mouth that the two had heard, as Iduna had been with him, in a good few years.

The two wasted no time moving to embrace him, crying and holding onto him like little girls that had had nightmares the night prior. Elsa had forgotten that she had Agnarr in her arms, until the baby made a noise of discomfort and forcing the hug to break.

"Oh, and who is this?" Asked the man, his eye still bright from his tears, noticing the baby only just now.

"This is Agnarr II," Elsa said with a proud smile as she moved her son to show him off, "he's my son."

"A.. A son.." Agnarr said the words slowly, as though he had missed something in them. "You have a child. Oh Elsa that's.." He was smiling and on the verge of more tears.

Elsa chuckled, "well, I'm not the only one who has a child." She smiled, gesturing for Anna to explain as their father turned to her.

"You have one as well, duckling?" The man asked in happiness.

Anna's eyes shone in fondness. "I do. Her name is Mimi, and she's mine and Kristoff's little gosling."

"Grandchildren.." Agnarr said softly, trying to wrap his mind around the notion. To think! Him, a grandfather? He wouldn't have believed it himself.

Elsa shifted Agnarr before offering him to her father, "would you like to hold him, Papa?"

Agnarr smiled, silently holding his arms out to take the child. Said child seemed curious in this stranger, so there was no crying nor fussing during the hand off. To say it felt strange was, an understatement- Agnarr felt like it was all those years ago when the girls were young so he was used to this, it was Agnarr II that felt strange. These arms, so thin and yet strong, embracing him and holding him to the chest of someone he had just met? Not so fun. But, it was the feeling of the heartbeat that kept him from making any sounds here nor there of displeasure. It was actually soothing, now that he took a second, and started to fall asleep in the man's hold.

"He's so small," Agnarr said softly, the tears falling anew as he looked at his daughters and wife. "How old is he?"

"He's a year." Elsa said with a smile and tears of her own. "He had his first birthday last month."

As Agnarr looked back down at his grandson, there was the sudden stomping of feet as a rush of pale green entered the room.

"Mama!" A girl cried happily, hugging her legs. She then noticed Agnarr and looked up at her mother. "Is that baba?"

Anna nodded. "Yes, Mimi. That's your grandfather."

Mimi looked from her mother to the man before walking over slowly and looking at him. After a few moments, she smiled and climbed up onto the bed to sit with him, "I like him."

Agnarr pulled her close to him in a one armed hug. "And I like you too, little one."

A month later, after regaining much of his strength and having limited interactions with the staff in the castle save for Kai and Gerda, Agnarr was officially welcomed back into the kingdom with a ceremonial announcement. To say he was tired at the end of the ball, from all the dancing and talking he had done, was an understatement. He fell onto the bed with Iduna, holding her close to him with the two sharing mutterings of goodnight as they both let sleep claim them.

Five years later, a gala was being held as a holiday party to ring in the winter season. Arendellian Princes Agnarr II and Thor as well as Princess Mimi, as well as their twin Coronian cousins, Princess Primrose and Prince Flynn, were all sitting around a chair and listening to Sir Agnarr I telling them far away tales of pirates and mermaids.

Lady Iduna was talking with the other adults, being her Coronian relatives, former king Frederick and former queen Ariana, Queen Rapunzel and King Eugene. Princess Anna and Lord Kristoff were talking animatedly to Elsa after she had brushed off the advances of another suitor.

All was well. They were well.
