Disclaimer: Harry Potter and all the characters of his universe are owned by J.K. Rowling. I hold no claim over anyone here, except for my original characters and the Order of Mercaba, which is my own creation.
A/N: This is a short part… sorry about that… but I felt it needed to be it's own segment. Everything will be longer from here on out.
Chapter Five
Feldspar stared at the humans across from him and rubbed his aching head. A simple Rite of Inheritancy had morphed into something that was frankly giving him a massive headache.
"Are you okay?"
Feldspar looked at the female human and nodded. "I'm fine, Mrs. Morrigan, thank you. This is all just a great deal of work to incorporate at one time." He looked at the multiple files before him and shook his head. "So much is wrong here. There is a will that was sealed by Albus Dumbledore… something he's not legally allowed to do… as well as some unauthorized withdraws from the Potter vault, again by Dumbledore… another illegal action. There is a mention of funds being sent to a family called Dursley… but there is no record of that family ever receiving any money."
Alex blinked and frowned. "They've been declared dead, have been for a while now… few months at least. Harry was left on their doorstep at the end of October by Albus Dumbledore. It was my wife and I who found and rescued Harry."
Feldspar nodded and made a few notes. "Then Albus Dumbledore fooled us for no reason and I have a strong idea that those funds ended up in his own vaults instead… something I will be investigating. I've already had his personal vaults frozen and if the stolen money is there… as I know it most assuredly is… every single knut will be going back into the Potter vault, with interest, as well as many hefty fines will be placed on him for theft by Gringots as well."
A chime sounded and a young goblin ran in, left a parchment with Feldspar then ran back out. Feldspar examined the parchment and nodded. "Hmm… it is as I thought. There are rather large deposits that match money taken from the Potter account while the Potters were in hiding. He's taken out… it's hard to believe it but it's right here. He has stolen what amounts to 3,478,380 Galleons."
Alisa frowned at the horrible act and then scratched her head in confusion. "What would that be in Pounds?"
Feldspar took out a small card and did some mental math. "At the last rate… almost 12 million Pounds."
Gasping in shock she just stared. "How much is in the vault then?"
Feldspar picked up the book and turned a few pages. "At the last accounting… assets of combined estates, belongings and money… as well as investments in both the Wizarding and Muggle worlds… the balance is close to 113 million Galleons… not including what was stolen."
Alisa's eyes glazed over as she just rocked her son in her arms. Alex shook his head and laughed. "I'm afraid to even ask how much the three families combined would be."
Feldspar nodded and let out a harsh gravelly laugh. "I agree… the figure makes you, as Harry's father and regent… one of the wealthiest men in the Wizarding World… and when he is old enough to claim the Potter Headship, he will be just as wealthy."
Alex nodded smirking. "So my idea will work then? The Potter family goes into the Morrigan vault… to hide it from the rest of the Wizarding World… and Harry stays a Morrigan, until he needs to claim the Potter name…"
Feldspar nodded. "At that time, he would be Harry James Morrigan Potter or Potter Morrigan… however you wish to do things. However, there are a few clauses here you need to consider. You are the head of two families right now… Morrigan and Gorbain. In order to keep both names alive, you will need an heir for both lines… one child to be named for the Gorbain bloodline and one for the Morrigan bloodline."
He pulled out two books and opened them. "The Gorbain line has no inclinations about blood purity or magical status, so long as the child is magical. You would need at least one son to take the Gorbain name, but it's good to have… as they say… a spare. Two male children for the Gorbain line."
Alex nodded frowning as Alisa blushed a little at knowing she needed to give Harry a baby brother or two. "That's fine… but what about the Morrigan line? I know my grandmother is a bit… different."
Feldspar nodded and moved to the second book. "Yes… she is indeed. The Morrigan line has stipulations in place. The heir must have enough elven blood… in particular something called Sidhe blood… to take the heirship. You passed this test, so you must understand what this means?"
Alex nodded. "The Wizarding World would call the Sidhe… the High Elves. You believe them to be extinct… but they actually moved to another realm called... Underhill. I have enough blood to pass but I'm not sure how much would go to my children."
Feldspar nodded. "There is another stipulation as well. Your grandmother has a small addendum here about the child being preferably a female. She stated she preferred a matriarchal line for her descendant."
Alisa laughed and shook her head. "That will be a problem as I don't have the right blood. If Harry needs a sister as well, you might have to get her to step in on that one… unless she decides to make you take an elven wife someday."
Alex's expression darkened. "I'll get her to do something. I'm only married to one woman."
Feldspar raised an eyebrow. "Legally you could marry two… seeing as you are the head of two families. There are no laws against it in Wizarding society."
Alex shook his head as Feldspar shrugged and continued. "Continuing… the Potter account can easily be kept hidden inside the Morrigan vault until such time as Harry claims his lordship at 17. This will keep anyone from trying to make any withdraws from the account illegally and will also keep the Ministry from trying to place Harry with anyone else. If asked, we can honestly tell them that young Harry is legally a part of a Wizarding family and is being checked on periodically."
Alex looked confused as Feldspar grinned. "You see… we will send you monthly status reports about your and his accounts, and when you open the letter… we know, so we know you are okay. It's a goblin loophole the Ministry doesn't know about."
Laughing softly Alex nodded. "Thank you. I appreciate that."
Feldspar nodded. "Now… there is one other thing. The Potters placed a request to have money withdrawn and sent to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry upon Harry Potter's eleventh birthday. With you living in the muggle world and using other types of magic… will you be wanting Harry to still go to this institution of learning… or will you choose another path?"
At their confused expressions, Feldspar continued. "There are a more than a few schools for Wizarding magic scattered around the world – Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry… in Scotland; Durmstrang Institute… in Northern Europe; Beauxbatons Academy of Magic… in France; Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry… in the United States; Mahoutokoro… in Japan; Uagadou… in Uganda; Koldovstoretz… in Russia and Castleobruxo… in Brazil."
Alex blinked in shock at the number of schools the Order had never heard of. "I don't… perhaps we shall wait until Harry's a bit older and see. I know the types of magic I and my family use is much different from the wanded type. He might not even want to go…"
Feldspar cleared his throat. "He'll have to… otherwise the Wizarding authorities will step in and force him to go to one of them. Failure to go willingly from that point forward has your memories removed and your magic contained, so you won't be a danger to the Ministry and Wizarding kind in general. There is a thing called an Obscurus… dreadfully dangerous. It happens when a wizard or witch doesn't learn to control their magic and represses it. Almost all of them die from it."
Alisa pulled Harry closer to her and frowned. "No one is touching my baby. Let them try and I'll kill them all."
Alex reached over and took his wife's hand. "Calm down love. We have almost ten years. We'll figure out what to do before then. If we have to… we can go live with grandmother for a few years. I'm sure she can teach Harry enough to keep this from happening… or if we're feeling more bloodthirsty, I can have the others do a scorched earth for us… keeping our hands clean."
Alex paused as he heard a whisper in his mind. "… or we can ask the uncles for help… Gabriel and Michael in particular would be happy to step in…"
Alex blinked and shook his head then looked back over at Feldspar. "None of that leaves here… correct?"
Feldspar grinned. "I heard nothing." He closed a book and sat back. "You are correct. You have time to make any decision… but I do suggest you acquire a wand and spell books at some point. It will help your standing in the Wizarding society… even if you never use them."
Alex nodded. "I can do that before we head home." He took a slow breath and sighed. "So… Harry is safe... for now. Is there anything else we need to do?"
Feldspar shook his head. "That's it. You can visit your vaults now if you wish or do so at any later date. I have the funds Dumbledore stole being returned as I speak and a copy of his misdeeds is being sent to the Ministry and the Daily Prophet. Soon everyone will know what he did."
Alex nodded and stood, extending his hand to help his wife to her feet. "Then we shall go and thank you for your help. I think I'll return later to check the vaults and get the other items you mentioned. Once word gets out what Dumbledore did… I fear it will be a madhouse outside. I think we'd rather avoid that."
Feldspar grinned. "Wise decision. Until next time… just ask for me and I'll have someone privately assist you. Have a good day."
With that said, Feldspar escorted them back to the main entrance then headed back to his office. Alex led his family back out into Diagon Alley and headed quietly and quickly back toward the Leaky Cauldron to escape.
Moving carefully, they eased through the people milling about until they made their way back to the normal world. Outside they drank in the sounds of modern society and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Let's head home… I think we've had enough of them for awhile."
Alex called for a cab and when it arrived, they headed back to their home… and away from the insanity that was the Wizarding World.
