Chapter 4: The First Fight

Living in this castle, I never thought that I would be able to have something like this even in a million years. The other two versions of me that died weren't even allowed to have something like this. My name is Fujimaru Ritsuka, a god-like mage.

"Master, do you really think it was a good idea to give them that strong of a servant?" Karna asked me. Karna was my most loyal servant, and probably my second strongest.

My strongest servant on the other hand is Gilgamesh. Though, I don't allow him to use his full strength because if he used his full strength the whole world would probably disappear.

The reason Gilgamesh allows me to command him around is due to me being able to alter him just like how I got altered. Now, I know that Gilgamesh usually wouldn't be able to be altered. Yet I have the power to do so, as I'm a god-tier mage. I'm above most servants other than people like Karna and Gilgamesh.

"Of course it's a good idea. Bam is a strong servant indeed but I'm certain that you and Gilgamesh could beat him." I take a sip of water from the cup that Karna was holding for me.

Now, this holy grail war is a little underwhelming right now I would say. Not every master has shown themself but out of the ones that have shown themselves, none of them are as strong as me.

Kiritsugu walks into the room and in my perspective it seems as if he just got beaten up. I decide to ask him how he got beat up but he ignores me and just walks into the room that I assigned him.

I suppose I could just look into his memories with my magecraft.. I do so and to my surprise, there's another master that showed themself!

Now looking into his memories I see why he lost the fight. The servant that he fought against has similar abilities to Gilgamesh in which they are used. It's obvious that the servant is holding back severely though as he only used one ability which allowed him to create weapons.

It's hard to tell if the servant is a man or a woman with how they look, but they have green hair and they seem pretty thin from what I see through his memories.

While looking through his memories, I'm not very surprised but he did lose a servant. He lost Muramasa, which is stronger than Richard. How did he lose Muramasa so easily?

"Karna. Do you think you can beat this servant?" I show him the memories. To my surprise, he actually shakes his head disagreeing. Even Karna can't beat this servant? Gilgamesh should be the only one then, but would it really be best to ask him? This servant has similar abilities to Gilgamesh so they could easily rival each other but if Gilgamesh ends up being outpowered then I'm screwed.

"Gilgamesh!" I wait several moments, but Gilgamesh doesn't show up. I suppose I can look through Gilgamesh's eyes to see what he's doing…

I do so, and to my surprise Gilgamesh is already fighting the Servant with green hair. They were even in combat, Gate Of Babylon to whatever this other servant is using was quite a showdown. The only difference is, I don't know who would win in this showdown.

Something about this enemy servant really makes me want to fight him or her. They seem to know my name, and they seem to have a noble phantasm that's very similar to mine. I have no words for this servant though, all I care about is killing them for my master.

"Gilgamesh! I didn't expect to see you here!" Once again this servant says my name. I'm still confused on who they are, but once again it doesn't matter. I shoot out spears from Gate Of Babylon, but they counteract with their own noble phantasm.

Spears against chains, that's exactly what's going on in this fight. I quickly realized that there's a treasure that's in Gate Of Babylon. "Enkidu." Chains rapidly came out, wrapping around the chains that the servant was sending out. It worked exactly how I needed to be, which was the best thing I could've asked for.

The servant doesn't allow himself to be wrapped up with the chains though, as he keeps hitting the chains away that get close to him.

"Gilgamesh, you do know that we're rivals."

"I don't even know your name! You just look familiar!" I sent out spears along with the chains. He did the same exact thing as me though. It was almost as if I was facing a clone of myself which really pissed me off.

I don't want to be forced into using EA as he isn't worthy to face it. I don't believe he is anyhow.

"I didn't want to do this but.." He disappears from my sight until I look up. A divine construct is in the air, looking as if it's about to pierce into me. "Gilgamesh. Return." I heard my master speak to me while this is happening. I understand why he wants me to return as if this pierces me no matter what, I'm dead.

I attempt to teleport back to my master, but for some reason it isn't working. Why now of all times?! The divine construct starts to charge towards me at an insane speed that I can't even keep up with. It was at that moment that I actually thought I was going to die. Am I really a failure to my master?

It goes silent. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. Angra Mainyu appears out of my shadow behind me, and points at the divine construct. "Hear my name! I am Angra Mainyu, the beast candidate! I command you the divine construct! Disappear! Return to your correct form!"

Everything goes white. I can't see for a good 5 seconds. It's silent, I can't hear anything. Not even my own thoughts are being heard.

After the 5 seconds are up, to my surprise the divine construct was gone and it actually returned to its correct form. The servant was the divine construct. How in the world, did he become such a strong being?

The servant fell to the ground, and surprisingly he was unconscious. For some reason though, I felt it wasn't right to kill him off as of right now. This is the land of servants so even if I did kill him off he would just reincarnate after a few years.

The master of the servant is nowhere to be seen, so it's best to just leave him here.. I would think that but Angra Mainyu jumps towards the servant and stabs him in the heart.. 32 times is the exact amount of times he stabbed him in the heart and the servant just disappears from existence.

I still don't understand the feeling, but it felt nostalgic after seeing that servant.

Angra Mainyu saved me. How did he of all people outshine me and beat this servant? He's known as the weakest servant!

I can finally teleport back to my master which is good, but for some reason I wish to stay here and think to myself on what happened.

Angra Mainyu is already gone by the time that I start to lie down on the ground and look up at the sky. I can see faint memories of being with that servant in the past, but none of them actually ring a bell. I still don't understand who that servant is or why fighting him was practically fighting a clone of myself.

I punch the ground continuously as I don't know what I was like in my past life. What in the world was I like before the Holy Grail War? Was I strong, or was I a weakling like I am now?

Rain starts to pour down. A name rings in my head, as if I can hear it from the servant himself. "My… Name.. Is.. Enkidu.." That's all I hear from that faint voice that I hear.
