Chapter title from "Travellin'" by Hudson Taylor
Kiss Prompt: Sensual back kiss
"I hate touring," Julie groans into the mattress as Luke digs his thumbs into her bare back, massaging the tension out of the tight muscles.
From his spot straddling the small of her back, he chuckles, the gentle vibrations of his laughter running into her. "You love touring."
"Okay, I hate what touring does to my back."
"That's why you've got me."
She turns her head to the right, trying to get her neck to rotate enough so she can see her soulmate's face, but all that comes into view is the wall and the rim of the ceiling. "Yes, occasional back massages are the entire reason I'm with you."
His hands still for a moment, and then she feels a whoosh of cool air fly across the massage oil on her skin as he leans over to brush a peck onto her cheek. "Only reason?"
"Hmm, the kissing's pretty okay too."
He nuzzles his nose against her cheek before sliding his lips down to her neck and pressing a slightly longer kiss into her pulse point. "Pretty okay?"
"Pretty good."
His nose trails down to the base of her neck and his lips curl around the vertebra, as if the bone lures his mouth with a magnetic force. "Only pretty good?"
Waving a hand behind her back, she tries to swat him, but the angle is too awkward and she misses entirely. "Less fishing for compliments, more kissing. Earn your compliments."
He laughs and collapses his face against her back, smoothing his smile into her skin. His playful joy rumbles through her, tingling in their bond, and her cheeks spread into such a giant beam that her happiness almost hurts. Then Luke's lips tense, sucking a lingering kiss into the skin. Her back muscles squirm for a moment, desperate to squeeze into the sensation, but she gusts a breath into the mattress and tries to keep her body flat. His lips slide slightly further down, gathering the skin between her shoulder blades into the pleasant heat of his mouth, and she releases a shaky hiss as he continues the trail of long, open-mouthed kisses around the curve of her left shoulder blade.
Suddenly, his head jerks away from her, and she's about to ask what's going on when she feels a tiny, rough kiss against her right side. Less like her partner's soft lips, and more like a small piece of sandpaper being dragged across the skin. "Ow! Luke, what the—"
She props herself up slightly so she can look down her back.
Only to find Treble licking the coconut oil off her skin with a very studious expression. As if his humans forcibly assigned him the task, and he isn't enjoying it, but he's determined to do a thorough job, damn it. The cat's spiky tongue rasps unpleasantly against her sensitive side, and she unleashes a desperate giggle.
"Jules, don't move! He's working."
Luke drops gently onto the mattress on her left, and she turns her head to him. His face is lit up in a bright smile, but there's a serious quirk to his mouth. Like he's genuinely concerned that she's going to reject their cat. She shakes her head, keeping the movement small so she doesn't startle Treble. "Come here."
He instantly curls up into her side and kisses her shoulder, before gently pecking at the part of her lips he can reach. His body is soft and warm next to hers, eyes dancing with fondness in a way that still makes her heart giddy, even after a year.
"Well?" he asks.
"Well what?"
"You at least gonna admit that Treble's a good kisser?"
She bursts into giggles that are apparently big enough to send the cat sprinting from the room with an indignant meep. "Such a dork."
Undeterred, Luke traces his nose along the curve of her cheek. "But a dork who's a good kisser."
She rolls onto her side, turning into him and sliding her lips to hover a breath away from his. "You know what they say?"
"Hmm?" he hums back as he leans in closer.
"Show, not tell." And she catches his mouth with hers.
That's all for now! I'll be posting a 10+1 fic in this verse at some point in the future.
