The Mandalorian Maverick: Answers but more Questions

21BBY: Coruscant, Jedi Temple

Inside the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Will was in the middle of another training session with Master Cin Drallig to hone his skills and his instructions in Form-Six Niman. This was his third day back on Coruscant after the mission on Orto Plutonia and he spent most of his time training either by himself, with holocrons, training droids, or with Master Drallig when he wasn't busy. Following Master Cin Drallig's teachings and instructions on the form, Will picked up on it fairly quickly but that was due to the fact that he was already familiar with most of its aspects with his training with Form-two through four. Form-Six took a lot of its qualities and teachings from the previous forms, so he was mostly set with the exception of Form-five Shien and Djem So and then come refreshers of Form one. That's where a lot of the instruction was spent as Master Drallig instructed him on the Djem So variant of blocking, parrying, and then immediately countering with strong counterattacks and ripostes which made it a more offensive variant of Form-three Soresu in lightsaber combat. The Shien variant was for blaster fire.

Along with the lightsaber forms, Master Drallig reminded him of the inclusion of his force powers with the form to make up for Niman's lack of true advantage. As Obi-wan had told him, it was a form that lacked a significant advantage but also lacked serious drawbacks, so it was up to him to find what worked and modify it to his fighting style. Which was good as modifying and improvisation is what he is good at. So, as Master Drallig took him through the forms and training, despite the form's relax bladework he kept it tight and focused like when he trained in the other forms.

"Good, Padawan." Master Cin Drallig watched from the side as Will went through the stances with several quick slashes before doing an upward slice into a pushing slash as he used his free hand to release a force-push at a training dummy. Said dummy was thrown across the room with a thud. "Excellent. Now the draw closer."

Will took a high guard stance like in Form Five and mocked parried and blocked attacks before force-pulling the dummy back to him where he then sliced it diagonally across the waist.

"Yes. Now, third position stance." Drallig said as Will got into a two-handed low guard with his lightsaber hilt held at waist height in both hands. His feet closely spaced, and his blade angled downward. "Advance."

He started with a lunge and then quick slashes and swipes before moving into form three inspired defensive forms before doing a front flip and several overhead slashes before landing in a crouch and releasing a force wave on the ground. Master Drallig force threw several stones at the Padawan who sliced them in half in quick succession. The training dummy was then thrown at the Padawan from behind, but he quickly turned and froze them with force statis before slicing the two pieces into four.

"Hold." Drallig said as Will stood at the ready. "Rest."

Will deactivated his saber and hooked it to his belt before taking some deep breaths. His training had been going on for hours, so he was tired but wanted to keep busy. BD-8 walked over with a water bottle positioned on his head. "Thanks, buddy."

He took the bottle and chugged down about half of it as Master Drallig walked over. "Your lessons are progressing much faster than I anticipated, Padawan Vizsla. Your swordsmanship is second to none among your age group. I imagine you would even give some Jedi Knights trouble."

"Thank you, Master Drallig. Swordsmanship was always something I always excelled at when I was an initiate. And getting real-life combat experience has helped as well." Will replied. "Master Kenobi is an excellent teacher as well.

"That he is. Obi-wan was one of the finest Jedi I taught and his mastery of Soresu is without a doubt. Mastery I see he is passing on to you." Drallig commented and Will smiled. "A fine form and you've picked up on form-five Shien and Djem So rather quickly with only a few days of instruction."

"I have an excellent teacher." He praised as Cin Drallig chuckled. "And this is an abbreviated version of both disciplines which is to be taken into consideration. Form-six is rather interesting."

"As is the case with Niman. The Jedi Council maintains that Form-six best suits the role of contemporary Jedi Knights. After all, a Jedi knight who is overly trained in martial combat might be at a loss to resolve a complex political conflict or sensitive trade disagreement." Cin Drallig wisely recounted. "The success of this form is going to depend on your intuition, improvisation and creativity in combat rather than set responses and drilled stances like form-two or form-three."

"Well, Master Kenobi recommended Niman to me as I tend to be exceptionally good at improvisation. Still, the blade work is going to take some getting used to." Will admitted and Cin Drallig agreed with that statement.

"As it should. Niman is a form that requires a deep reflection in its user as who you are and what you do reflect in the form. As such, many of the practitioners of the form rarely fight the same. And as it's derived from a fight form centered around the use of dual blades, it is a challenging practice for many." Cin Drallig walked over to the wall and retrieved a practice saber which he threw to Will. He caught it in his left hand and pressed the button, summoning the yellow practice blade. "It's often been a gateway form to the style of Jar'Kai. Former Jedi Exar Kun was one of the finest Niman practitioners and Jar'Kai duelists of the old republic before his fall to the dark side. Impressive still as he never was defeated in a lightsaber duel. In the hands of a skilled user, each lightsaber is used for a different form."

"I've seen Jar'Kai used by Asajj Ventress. It has its advantages in a fight." He commented as he activated his main saber and began doing some practice slashes and figure-eight spins. Having been trained by his mother at a young age in Mandalorian martial arts and with blasters, he was fairly ambidextrous but still favored his right.

"And its drawbacks. The use of two blades allows the swordsman speed, surprise and improvisation but forsakes stability and strength of two hands on a blade. And a skilled opponent could isolate one of your hands in a fight. Still, Jar'Kai in the style of Niman is a deadly combination." Cin Drallig force pulled a training saber into his free hand, activating the yellow blade and his own green one. "Let's continue our lesson."

"Music to my ears." Will replied as the two continued their training.

Several hours later, Tera Sinube, a Cosian Jedi Master and one of the oldest Jedi in the order was training a group of initiates in basic lightsaber forms as part of their usual training. When he heard that Master Cin Drallig was personally training one of the order's best padawans in combat, he decided to take the younglings to watch the training session. They all sat around the practice area as Master Drallig was sparring with Will using the Jar'Kai style and trying to get him to experiment.

Cin Drallig pushed the offensive in a series of quick strikes, slashes, and lunges as Will blocked and parried as fast as he could. Using both hands with two sabers to block and parry was difficult to accustom to, but he was at least able to keep up, so he wasn't dead yet, training wise. He blocked and parried Drallig's lunge and counterattacked with a slash which the master ducked under. Will grabbed Drallig's arms, dropped to his back and threw the master over his body. Drallig rolled from the impact and got back to his feet as Will did a kip-up before a butterfly twist while spinning his sabers in his own modification of the rising whirlwind technique. Guess you could call it the butterfly whirlwind now.

Drallig quickly blocked all of the quick spinning slashes before pushing Will back and doing a twin strike only for the Padawan to back flip high into the air. During his backflip, he threw his sabers like buzzsaws which Drallig deflected with ease. The second Will landed back onto his feet he force-pulled his blue saber back to his hand and charged forward, doing a TD raiz spin attack which Drallig blocked and deflected. As Drallig lashed out an attack, Will jumped over him and threw out some attacks which the master blocked and rolled from the jump back to his feet. Then force-pulled the training saber to his hand which activated mid-flight and was heading right at Drallig's back. Drallig spun and knocked the saber into the air where it landed in Will's left hand and slashed with both sabers which were blocked and was engaged in a saber lock.

"Well done." Cin Drallig told him before the two separated and deactivated their sabers. They both bowed to one another as was tradition and the younglings who watched all clapped. "I hope you enjoyed today's demonstration, younglings. Let this be a showcase of what your training is for and could lead to. Padawan Vizsla was once the same as you yet through hard work and training, he has become one of the finest Padawans of the order. He now helps the Republic in the fight against the Separatists as the padawan of Master Obi-wan Kenobi. Stay true to your training and in the force and you may find yourself following his path."

"Take what you've learned to heart, younglings. Now, on to our next lessons." Master Sinube led the younglings away as Will bent over, taking deep breaths as his robes and face were caked in sweat. Even Master Drallig was breathing heavy from the intense training.

"Thank you again for the lessons, Master Drallig. Learning from the holocrons is great but real training is the best." Will told him.

"My pleasure, Padawan. It lifts my heart to see a young padawan stick to his training with such dedication as you do." Drallig replied. "Continue on this path and I daresay that you are on your way to becoming an excellent battle master."

"High praise, Master Drallig. Thank you." Will bowed his head and Drallig bowed back.

With the training session over, Will returned the training saber to its place before hooking his own onto his belt. His training was coming along nicely with his instructions in form-six, but he still had more to learn and train before he could consider himself proficient in the form. And then longer still if he wanted to master it along with the other forms. At the moment, with his various training in forms-two through four and learning form-six which included components of both variants of form-five he was starting to become a jack of all trades. Perhaps that was his future. Unlike the other Jedi who were comfortable with one or two styles completely mastered, maybe he could take Master Drallig's words to heart and adapt form-six to his own liking. Change components of the form and make it suit him, so he had all the advantages of forms one through five but keeping tight bladework, focus, and improvisation. Make a branch form of Niman that suited him. It had its strengths and the use of two sabers opened the door for an intense combat form so long as he worked to overcome the disadvantages of Jar'Kai. And he was still 50/50 if he wanted to expand his training to include more Jar'Kai.

Will left the training room with a towel around his neck while guzzling down water from his canteen. BD-8 climbed onto his shoulder as Will left to get cleaned up and changed into clean robes before getting something to eat. He went to the nearest temple refectory and got himself some bread, some grinjer meat, bone broth, and blue milk. The meal was filling and full of vitamins and minerals which was what it was for. You don't go to the temple to eat if you're looking for a gourmet meal. The Blue Milk was a nice addition though. As he left the dining hall, he took a Jogan fruit from a fruit bowl and made his way back to his room to rest and keep himself busy.

When he walked into his room, BD-8 climbed down his shoulder and situated himself onto the desk before letting out some curious beeps.

"Yeah, buddy. You can bring it up." Will told him as he took a bit of the Jogan fruit. BD-8 connected his scomp-link into the computer in the desk, bringing up the blueprints and plans for a glider/hover vehicle they were working on. It just started out as an idea he had in his head a while ago and got to the point where he wanted it out, so he put it down into a data disk. And since he was here at the temple, between training and spending time at the archives he wanted to keep busy. "Thanks, buddy. You can power down and recharge. I'll see you in the morning."

BD-8 nodded before climbing down the desk and over to the wall where he connected into a charging terminal and then powered down. Will looked over the schematics and made some adjustments here and there to compensate for power to weight ratio and energy output of the engines. While he was good with machines, he did have to go to the archives or holonet to get some help every now and then. He continued his work as the sun began to set on Coruscant when he got a message from Vallt and Zerpen labs which was probably Galen, so he answered.

Galen's face appeared on the holovid. "Padawan Vizsla, I was hoping to talk to you. I didn't catch you at a bad time, did I?"

"No, not at all. How are things on Vallt?"

"Excellent. The people are doing better, and our research has been helping the Republic. Marshal Gruppe's job has never been easier. I was rather intrigued with last message about your additions to clone trooper armor using commando droid composite metal as another layer of protection. It's had some of the engineers here working on some new projects." Galen told him.

"I'm glad things are going well. How are Lyra and Jyn?" Will asked as Galen ducked out of view before he reappeared with baby Jyn.

"They're doing just fine. Lyra is busy at the moment but Jyn here is getting bigger and bigger every day." Galen said as Jyn just stared at him through the holovid. Will smiled as Galen put her back down. "I reached out because I think I have a solution to the modification you wanted to do to your ship. The cloaking upgrade to your freighter?"

"Yes. My master finally managed to get the schematics for the device, and I can probably build and assemble the modifications to the Tempest but powering it in an issue. I figured I'd have to patch it into the hyperdrive to use it, but that's not possible. It would end up taking up half of the ship's power, so I haven't installed it yet until I came up with a better solution." Will commented.

"And I think I found it. Normally that would be the case, but I believe I have designed something that can help you with." Galen pressed a few buttons to show the image of a clear crystal along with small points of data about it. Whatever it was, he wasn't familiar with it. "My research in artificial crystal construction is still ongoing but I have developed a new artificial crystal with excellent energy properties. Think of it similar to Hibridium crystals."

"Ok. Kerner Corporation has a monopoly on Hibridium crystals, and they use them for their own stealth system drives. But those crystals aren't powerful enough for a cloaking field on anything bigger than a starfighter." Will stated.

"True but my crystal is far more powerful and half the size. This one will be able to power the cloaking field you want on your freighter without causing an energy backlash." Galen told him, confident in his design and creation. "It's already on its way and should arrive tomorrow. It's the least I can do after what you've done for my family."

"Thank you, Galen and should you or your family ever need anything then let me know." Will promised and Galen nodded. He looked at the information on the crystal and noticed it didn't have a label. "You haven't named your crystal yet. Might I suggest, Ersian? I think that will be a fine name. Thank you, Galen."

Galen smiled and ended the transmission. Will turned the computer off and rested in his chair before moving to his bed to get some sleep.

Next day…

A XP-38A Sport Landspeeder was parked on the side of the street on one of the upper levels of Coruscant in the Collective Commerce District. BD-8 was watching over the speeder until Will returned and he did with a small cart filled with parts and tools. And that wasn't the end of it as he then took off to the main docking yard to go to a ship repair yard and get some more items. And how did he pay for all of this? Using the spoils of war from the Separatists. Anything left he donated to people who needed it.

Once he got everything he needed, he returned to the temple's hangar that housed their Jedi Starfighters. The Tempest was docked there while he was on Coruscant. After an hour of sorting through everything he bought and organizing it, he began the modifications to install the cloaking system to his freighter. BD-8 was using his scomp link to adjust and rewire part of the ship's shield systems on the outer hull while Will was on top of the freighter, installing one of the cloaking modules underneath the ship's heavy armor and plating. Some DUM-series pit droids were carrying tools and components around and following the instructions Will gave exactly. A WED Treadwell repair droid was doing a cloaking module installation underneath the main cockpit as a yellow-colored R3 model Astromech droid rolled over to the side of the ship and called out to Will. This was R3-A3.

"R3, start the installation of the cloaking system in the cockpit and double check to make sure the compressor doesn't overload if it runs." Will told him. R3 gave out an affirmative beep before heading inside the Tempest. He put his goggles back on his head to shield his eyes from the sparks of the splicer he used to install the module when he heard a loud crash and clanking. That was two the DUM-series pit droids knocking into one another and dropping some items. "Hey, take it easy you two! I'm on a budget here!"

The two DUM pit droids nodded, getting back to work but ended up bonking into one another yet again. R4-A4, a blue colored Astromech droid with a conical shaped head was doing some installations underneath the ship chuckled at the little display.

"Dank Farrik." Will put his tool down and jumped down from the top of the freighter. Landing with a soft touch and without showing any strain from the height as a normal human would, he walked over and helped the two droids back up and handed them the parts they needed. "Please be careful."

The two droids nodded and got back to work. He jumped back onto the roof of the Tempest to continue the installation. The installation and modifications were a slow process as it was really just him and the droids. The other Padawan learners in the temple weren't skilled technicians and the Temple's maintenance crew were busy with the Jedi Starfighters in the hangar. With how big the Tempest was and the intricacy of the installations along with testing, he would be lucky to get it done within a week.

And that's pretty much what he did during his time at the temple. He trained, slept, trained, and worked on his ship. He kept in touch with Obi-wan and Ahsoka and they were doing fine and also chatting with Qi'ra every now and then but that's about it. Hevy, Echo, and Fives were with the rest of Ghost Company with Obi-wan, but he would be joining them soon enough.

A few days later…

Will woke up the next morning and did some training which consisted of him going through the temple's obstacle course arena. It was designed to help test the youngling's ability to move through obstacles and unconventional environments with the force adding them. While normally used by the younglings, it had several difficulty levels that made it suitable training for anyone. The course training was set to level 7 of 10 making it a challenging course that seasoned Jedi Knights took on. It was difficult and pushed Will to his best which is exactly what he wanted. He probably wouldn't come out of it unscathed but that was the idea.

He raced down a walkway as fast as he could but being light on his toes as he had to dodge, swerve, and avoid metal spikes that shot up from the ground. Any normal being with regular reflexes and agility would have been hit or struck by now. This helped test his precognitive senses which every Jedi relied on to be effective. He spun around a metal pole before quickly doing a butterfly flip over a side plank that rose up. Several platforms floated up in the air at varying heights with some turned on their side to act like walls. Will ran forward along the walkway when a part of it detached and drop to the floor to simulate the floor suddenly dropping down. He acted quickly and force jumped into the air where he managed to land on a floating platform and did a wall run.

As he reached the apex of his wall run, he jumped off and front flipped through the air where he landed on another wall. During his second wall run, one of the panels on the wall came loose causing him to misstep. He managed to leap off the wall at the last second and grab onto a railing of another platform where he hung for a few seconds. Taking a quick breath, he swung his body back and forth a bit before letting go. He managed to grab onto a rope and swing around a corner where he flipped through the air and landed on a floating platform.

With his feet on solid ground, he prepared himself for the next part which was over a large gap that had varying sized cube platforms that rose up from the ground to the ceiling or descended from the ceiling and sunk into the ground. He cracked his neck and took a deep breath before jumping forward and landing on a small cube platform that was floating up. It was wide enough so he could fit only one foot, making him balance precariously as he planned his next move. He quickly jumped to his left to land on a cube platform going down before leaping forward and grabbing onto another platform with his right hand. Hanging precariously in the air, he swung his body back and forth before letting go. He overshot his jump and his foot slid off the platform so he ended up falling off and hitting a rising platform before he landed on the ground below.

Will held his side and groaned in pain as the fall and hitting the platform did hurt. The training obstacle course halted when he hit the ground to signify it was over. He laid there on the ground for a bit to rest and catch his breath before he got up. After a drink of water, he got back to training in the obstacle course for a few more hours. He cleaned up afterward and went back to work on the Tempest.

The next day, Obi-wan contacted him to let him know that they would be picking him up for a mission to Naboo.

Battle Droids on Naboo. As the Separatist rebellion rages through the galaxy even peaceful planets are threatened. Following the discovery of Separatist droids wondering the grassy wasteland, Naboo is once again on high alert.

Fearing their home is facing another invasion, Senator Amidala and Representative Binks race to Naboo to assess the situation. Meanwhile, near the Gungan swamp lands, an even graver threat is about to be discovered.

Several Separatist battle droids were found on Naboo. They were most likely scouts and it was a possible sign of a Separatist invasion. The Queen of Naboo and Senator Amidala reached out to the Jedi order for help so they were sending Anakin and Obi-wan along with their apprentices to help in the situation and figure out what the Separatists had planned.

Will piloted the Tempest down to the Naboo Palace hangar and with him were obviously his Master Obi-wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, R2-D2, BD-8, Echo, Fives, and Hevy. They were met at the hangar by Captain Typho, C-3P0 and a female Gungan.

"General Kenobi, Anakin, we're so glad—"

"Where's Senator Amidala?" Anakin asked.

"She went to look for the lab." Captain Typho told him.

"And you let her go?" Anakin was angry that they let her go without protection.

"Senator Padme can be very hard to stop once she has made up her mind." 3PO pointed out.

"Having only met her once, that sounds like her." Will commented.

"Yes, I suppose that's true." Anakin admitted when Captain Typho introduced the female Gungan.

"This is Peppi Bow. She was the last person to see them. Padme sent her here to safety."

"Theysa looking for the sick-maker." She told them.

"They?" Obi-wan asked.

"Representative Binks was with her." Typho answered and R2 let out a few beeps. Translation: Oh boy.

"Will, Ahsoka. Go with the Gungan. See if you can find them." Anakin ordered.

"You've got it, master." Ahsoka replied as she, Will, and Peppi Bow left with Hevy, Echo, and Fives accompanying them.

Peppi Bow led them to the place Padme was heading to and to make the trip easier they rode on her pet Shaak, a large four legged herding animal native to the planet. They were following the river from the eastern swamplands and Peppi Bow told them that many of the herding Shaaks drank water from a nearby river and died. Padme and Jar-Jar went to investigate the source of the water and when they arrived, they saw the ship they arrived in.

"Dis da ship belonging to them." Peppi Bow said.

"So, where are they?" Ahsoka wondered as Will looked around.

He got off the animal and walked forward when BD-8 climbed down his shoulder and into the mud where he pointed to some tracks that seemed to disappear. "They were here but they're gone." He stated. "Echo, scan the area."

"Got it." Echo took out his scanner when they heard a whirring sound and Peppi seemed to grow a few inches.

"Get clear!" Will shouted and they all got behind a large tree for concealment to see Peppi was standing on top of a scope.

"Peppi, it's a scope. Don't let them see you." Ahsoka told her before tackling her off it and hiding behind some roots. The scope scanned the area before retracting into the ground.

"It looks like we've found the Separatists." Fives commented.

"Sir, there's a huge underground network beneath us and the place is wired with pressure sensors." Echo told him.

"If we step any place we're not supposed to then they'll know. Get ready to go loud, boys. Looks like the funs about to begin." Will told them before using his communicator to contact Obi-wan. "Master, we're at the swamp and found Senator Amidala's ship but we also found an underground lab. The whole place is rigged with pressure sensors. They'll find us the second we try to make a move inside."

"Do not attempt to go inside, Padawan. I need you to detonate a bunker bomb at the south end of the facility." Obi-wan ordered, bringing up the geo-scan layout of the hidden base to mark it. "It should cause a nice distraction and seal off the bomb area while we come in through the hatches."

"Roger that." Will replied.

"Don't worry, Master Kenobi. You can count on us." Ahsoka promised.

"Rex and his men will be right behind you, Snips. They'll have your back." Anakin told her before ending the transmission.

Peppi Bow's Shaak grazed on some nearby grass which caught the attention of the base's perimeter scopes but all they saw was the animal. With that distraction, Hevy took out two thermal detonators and handed them to Will who levitated them across the swamp. "All right, boys. Keep it tight in there. It's gonna be narrow corridors but remember your training. Watch your sectors and we move together. Ahsoka, lead in Rex and the others when they get here."

"You got it, Mando." She replied.

He nodded before dropping the detonators and the explosion shook the ground and blew a whole into the underground lab. Inside said lab in the main laboratory, Dr. Nuvo Vindi rushed over to the nearest console and hit the speaker button. "We have a breach! All droids to hatch number one!"

Will rushed over and jumped down the hole he made, landing in the middle of a hallway. Quickly activating his saber, he began deflecting blaster fire back at the droids by adopting the stance and bladework of the Form-Five Shien variant of lightsaber combat. Hevy, Echo, and Fives rappelled down ropes and joined him. Fives took out his twin pistols and blasted droids next to Will while Echo and Hevy covered the other side of the hallway. Hevy laid down suppressive fire with his rotary blaster while Echo was on one knee and firing with his DC-17m in blaster mode, taking down battle droid after battle droid. Will took out a droid popper and tossed it down the hallway where it disabled several droids before charging a force push and then releasing it. The super battle droids that walked down the hallway were crushed and sent flying, giving them a path forward.

The republic shuttles arrived and their backup soon began rappel downward to join them including Ahsoka. Two shuttles hovered over two separate entrances into the base and once bunker bombs blew open an entrance, Obi-wan and Anakin made their way into the base with their troops meeting no resistance since the droids attention was focused on Will and Ahsoka. He led their way down the hallway with Ahsoka close behind him while Rex and Rathtar squad supported them with blaster fire.

"Forward! Come on!" Rex shouted, leading his squad to back up the Padawans and blasted two droids down with his twin blaster pistols. That's when he saw two Droidekas roll down the hallway. "Destroyers!"

"I got it!" Will held his hand toward the ceiling and tightened his grip, ripping a part of the ceiling down and crushing the two droids underneath a pile of rubble. That's when Obi-wan dropped down the hole.

"I hope I didn't miss the fun." Obi-wan remarked.

"I have a feeling the fun is just getting started." Will replied as a squad of orange clad clone troopers dropped down the same hole in the roof and joined Obi-wan. They were Clone ordnance specialists who were specialized in bomb disarmament and disposal.

"Things are going well. The lab is secure and hopefully Anakin has reached Padme by now." Obi-wan said as they raced down the hall. When they arrived at an intersection, the hallway to the right had a squad of droids which opened fire. Will and Ahsoka deflected their blaster fire to cover the others. "I'll get the bombs."

"We'll keep the droids occupied." Ahsoka promised.

"Echo, go with him. He might need your help." Will told him.

"Got it." Echo joined the squad of bomb disposal clones and followed Obi-wan while the rest helped the Padawans deal with the droids.

Will blocked two blaster bolts to the chest before running up the side of the hallway and jumping off, slicing two battle droids in half while Ahsoka raced forward and cut a super battle droid into pieces. With the droids taken care of, they raced down the hallways of the base.

"Ahsoka, can you hear me. We have another situation. Send all the clones to search the facility. We've got a missing—"

Anakin was cut off as he and his group met with Ahsoka, Will and the others. "Master?" Ahsoka wasn't excepting to run into him so soon.

"We've got a missing bomb and a trigger-happy mad doctor on the loose." Anakin told her.

"Missing bomb? I saw Dr. Vindi give a little droid a bomb." Padma told him.

"You guys split up. Find that droid." Anakin ordered before he and his group left.

"You heard him. Let's move." Ahsoka took Rex and his squad of clone troopers leaving Will with Hevy and Fives.

"BD-8, patch into a terminal and access the internal security cameras. Find the droid and the doctor." BD-8 nodded and rushed over to a terminal while he left with Fives and Hevy.

Lucky for them, Padme and Jar-Jar found the droid in the base's greenery and managed to recover the bomb with the bomb squad quickly deactivating it. Anakin managed to capture Vindi with Peppi Bow's help and a galaxy wide plague was prevented. Obi-wan and Anakin were going to drop off Vindi to Theed for imprisonment before eventual transfer to Coruscant for trial. When they returned, they'd help Will, Ahsoka and Padme with the cleanup of the base.

Will, Hevy, and Fives met up with Echo and Senator Amidala in the base's greenery where a squad of clones was doing inventory. That's when one of the bomb squad troopers noticed something on the bomb they deactivated.

"Sir, you should see this. It's one of the virus bombs." He handed it to Will and he saw the problem.

"The chamber holding the virus is missing. That droid still has it. Sound the alarm and get to the exits as quickly as possible! It's gonna try and escape and we can't let that happen!" Will shouted.

"Yes, sir!" The clones replied, immediately following his orders while Will took off running down the hallways. Padme and Jar-Jar joined the troopers to the exit when the base alarm went off.

"BD-8, I need you to find that droid! It has the virus capsule!" Will shouted into his communicator.

BD-8 who was still plugged into the base's systems began sorting through every single camera to try and find it. Two clone troopers headed back to the bomb room, hoping to find the sample there.

"How could droids have gotten a hold of the virus containers?"

"I don't know, but I don't want to be around when they set it off."

"We've already taken the virus containers out of these bombs."

"We'll just have to check them again."

BD-8 eventually found the droid on a camera and it was heading to the bomb room. [Frantic beeping]

"I'm on it!" Will shouted into his communicator, heading there as fast as the force could take him. "This is Padawan Vizsla. I have eyes on the droid and the bomb! Get out of the base!"

"Padawan, what is going on?!" Obi-wan shouted into his communicator.

Will turned the corner of the hallway and saw the droid put the virus into a bomb and prime it. That's when the two clones saw the droid as well. "Hey, you! Get away from there!"

"I'm too late…" He muttered.

The bomb went off and destroyed the room, killing the droid and the two clones as a huge wave of blue vapor washed out of the room like an ocean wave. Will saw his life flash before he called to the force with everything he had and threw both arms forward. Utilizing a new ability, Force Barrier, he created a blue shield of force energy that was able to hold the Blue Shadow Virus vapor back and from progressing any further into the base. He struggled to keep the barrier up against the pushing tide of the virus and knew he wasn't going to be able to hold it forever.

"GET OUT!"

He held it as long as he could for another minute or so before it was too much and the force barrier dissipated. With nothing else stopping it, the Blue Shadow Virus washed over the entire base like a flood. The only bit of good news was that his moment of action gave everyone: the clones, Ahsoka, Padme, and Jar-Jar enough time to escape the base before its virus lockdown protocol shut down and sealed up all the exits. The underground lab was now sealed shut and quarantined.

Anakin and Obi-wan were at the shuttle with Vindi ready to take him to Theed when the base alarm sounded and they felt that explosion. "Ahsoka, what is going on down there?" He used his communicator only to see Ahsoka rush over with the rest of the clone troopers, Hevy, Echo, Fives, Padme, and Jar-Jar. "Padme, are you all right?"

"I'm fine." She promised. "The droid must have released the virus. It's loose in the entire facility."

"Luckily, BD-8 sealed the place shut." They heard when Obi-wan's communicator went off and a holovid of Will appeared.

"Padawan, are you all right?" Obi-wan asked and Will nodded.

"I'm alive for now. I managed to slow the virus down and give everyone a chance to escape. BD-8 sealed the entire base so it's not getting out but there are still droids here and they'll try to escape. I'll do what I can to slow them down but you have to seal up the exits from the outside." He told him.

"Mando, you're trapped inside. We have to help you." Ahsoka told him.

"I don't think there is anything you can do for me, Ahsoka." Will replied, sadly stating the hard truth that he was now stuck with. "We can't let this virus get out. If we do, millions could die. If it's between millions or even billions of people against one person, then I'd rather die knowing I saved them."

"Don't think like that, sir. We'll find a way." Fives promised.

"No, you won't. Seal up the exits. I don't care if you have to park a tank on top of them but they can't get out of here. That's an order." He told them. "I'll do everything I can to stop the droids from getting out of here, Master. I promise. And it's been an honor. May the force be with you all."

He turned his communicator off as he looked at the blue filled vapor hallways that was now going to be his tomb. Taking a moment and a breath, he activated his saber and took off running down the hall. If this was his last moment, then he was going to go down fighting.

Everyone topside felt completely helpless. Will was alone, having risked his life to give them all a chance to escape and was now stuck down there with the virus. Hevy looked at Vindi, sitting there all smug in satisfaction. Hevy pulled him out of his seat and punched him across the face before throwing him up against the walls of the shuttle. "Where's the antidote for the virus, you womprat!"

All Vindi could do was laugh in response. "You mistake my role, Clone. My job was to manufacture a plague, not to cure it." Hevy just headbutted him in the face and broke his nose before he pulled out his blaster pistol and put it under his chin. "A rather emotional response for one who is tank bred."

Ahsoka activated her lightsaber and held the green blade at his eye. "Does it look like we're playing games? Tell us how to cure the virus!"

"Yes, kill me now and spare these old bones the Blue Shadow's dire embrace, because once the first droid breaks out of that laboratory, all Naboo is doomed! The young Padawan will have died for nothing!" Vindi declared only for Hevy to pistol whip him in the face repeatedly.

"Hevy, calm down!" Rex and Fives pulled him off but Hevy just struggled to get free and blast the doctor in the face.

Vindi spit out some blue blood as Ahsoka held her saber to his neck, ready to end him then and there. Obi-wan admitted there was a part of him deep down that would have liked to have done the same thing but knew differently. "The fastest way to save Will is get Vindi back to the capital and find an actual antidote." He grabbed Ahsoka's arm and lowered it until she reluctantly deactivated her saber. Obi-wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, Jar-Jar, and Padme left for Theed in the shuttle with Vindi while Rex, Rathtar squad and the other clones stuck around the base to follow Will's last order. Seal the exits and make sure no droids got out.

Line Break xxxxx

Hard-pressed Jedi and their valiant clone troopers have thwarted an insidious Separatist plot to plant bombs loaded with the deadly blue shadow virus in key Republic systems. Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker have captured the vile scientist behind the nefarious scheme, Dr. Nuvo Vindi.

But now it is a race against time to help the trapped Padawan Will Vizsla who bravely stayed behind to keep the deadly virus from escaping and infecting millions. They must find an antidote before the Separatist droids escape the facility and Will succumbs to the deadly virus.

The shuttle arrived in the Theed hangar where Captain Typho and several Naboo guards were waiting. Anakin, Obi-wan, Ahsoka, Padme, and Jar-Jar disembarked the shuttle with Nuvo Vindi and handed him over.

"Make sure he doesn't leave his cell." Padme ordered.

"Yes, Senator. Dr. Vindi, you will pay for your treachery. Take him away." Captain Typho ordered and the guards dragged him to his cell.

"Now we need to find an antidote for the virus." Ahsoka stated.

"I think I found an answer for you." Typho led them inside to a command center and gathered around a holo-table.

"So, you think you found a cure?" Anakin asked.

"Possibly. A little-known extract made from reeksa root, a weed-line vine found only on Iego, the world of a thousand moons deep in Separatist-controlled space." Typho told them, showing them the records they had on the virus and the cure.

"Then that's where we're going." Ahsoka stated.

"You must move cautiously if you—"

"There's no time for caution. Will is trapped down there in the lab and the longer we wait the more time we'll waste. We need to go now." Ahsoka said in anger as Obi-wan touched her shoulder to get her to calm down. He knew she was angry and she could tell that Obi-wan wasn't dealing with this as calmy as his face would suggest.

"I applaud your courage, Padawan, but it's suicide. Once we contain the virus and make sure it can't get out, we can send Republic troops to the planet." Typho suggested.

"No, the three of us will handle it." Obi-wan told him, heading to the hangar.

"Sounds good to me." Anakin remarked as the three borrowed the Tempest and with R2 coming along, they left the planet. While he was on an unfamiliar ship, Anakin was their best pilot so he sat in the captain's chair while Obi-wan sat next to him. "Don't worry, Obi-wan. He'll be fine. We're gonna succeed."

"I know…I have faith." Obi-wan replied as Anakin activated the hyperdrive and they were off to Iego.

Back in the lab…

A squad of battle droids walked down the hall of the base, looking for any survivors as well as an exit.

"All the doors are locked."

"How are we gonna get out?"

"It's not our problem."

"Boy, that's a relief."

That's when they heard the hum of a lightsaber and one by one, they were taken down to pieces.

"No! I just—got—promoted!"

The droids head was cut off by Will who was still on his feet and keeping to his word of making sure the droids couldn't get out. He leaned against the wall a bit to catch his breath before letting out some small coughs. He looked at his hand and saw the veins were more noticeably blue but he put it to the back of mind and took a deep breath.

"BD-8, where's the next group of droids?"

BD-8 checked the cameras and found some grouped up at the south entrance trying to escape so he told Will.

"Thanks, buddy. I'm on it." He took off running down the hallway to stop the droids while he still had the strength.

A squad of about 14 battle droids were gathered around the south entrance which was a ladder up to a top hatch exit to the surface. One of the droids had already climbed the ladder and was using a laser cutter to cut open the sealed exit hatch. That's when a blue lightsaber was thrown into the room and cut through three battle droids before it returned to Will's hand.

"Jedi! Blast him!"

The droids concentrated their fire on him but he blocked and deflected their blast bolts while moving to the left. He slid on the ground, kicking one droid onto its back before slicing its head off and then quickly hiding behind another droid like a shield. Said droid was blasted three times before he force-pushed it and four more into a wall. He flipped through the air and landed in the middle of three droids that he quickly cut in half before force-pulling another droid into his path that he beheaded. The final droid was on the ladder trying to open the hatch.

"You're too late, Jedi!" The droid fired a single blaster bolt which proved to be a mistake as it ricocheted in the narrow space and killed itself.

"Definitely not the smartest droids." He said to himself before leaning on the ladder to catch his breath and save his strength. Reaching into his belt, he took out his respirator and used it to get some needed oxygen. Realistically, it wasn't going to do much but the clean air did a lot for his mental fortitude. He took a moment to himself and a few more breaths of air with his respirator before he continued on.

With Obi-wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka…

Planet Iego

After a hyperspace jump, the Tempest exited into Separatist controlled space. Obi-wan activated the ship's stealth playback system so they were invisible to scanners and drones but seeing where they arrived with zero Separatist presence, he wasn't so sure they needed it anymore. Anakin piloted the ship to the planet and had to maneuver through an intense debris field.

"There it is, Iego." Obi-wan pointed to the planet.

"What do you make of this?" Anakin was referring to the debris field he was piloting them through.

"It looks like a graveyard…of ships." Obi-wan replied.

"Let's get down there and find that root." Ahsoka stated. Anakin nodded and piloted them down as fast as he could and managed to find a spot at an empty landing platform in the city.

"Let's go." Anakin stood up and exited the ship, quickly followed by Ahsoka. Obi-wan's cautious warning fell on deaf ears as they exited the ship and saw a large battalion of battle droids coming to meet them. "Not good."

He and Ahsoka activated their sabers. "Welcome to Iego. Roger, roger."

"Wait!" Obi-wan shouted but they were already charging and began taking down droid after droid.

"Welcome to Ieg—"

"Welc—"

"Welcome to—"

"Iego—"

"Roger—"

The droids that greeted them seemed to be repeating the same thing over and over and it wasn't until they cut through about 13 of the battle droids that they stopped and noticed some odd things. The most glaring one was that the battle droids seemed to be scrapped and built back together in a hodge-podge of various parts so they didn't match. That was odd since battle droids came off assembly lines so they would only look like this if someone rebuilt them.

"Welcome to Iego. Welcome to Iego."

"What is going on here?" Ahsoka wondered.

"Very impressive. You just destroyed 13 defenseless battle droids without suffering a scratch." Obi-wan remarked when a 14th one fell apart.

"The venerable Jaybo Hood requests an audience." A battle droid announced. It's head had a drawn on smiley face.

"Jaybo?" They asked at the same time.

"Hey! Do you guys have any idea how long it took me to repurpose those droids?" They heard and saw a kid walk through the battalion of battle droids, carrying a droid head in his hand. He couldn't any older than maybe 12.

"You're Jaybo?" Ahsoka asked.

"Well, do you?" Jaybo asked as he walked over to check some of his droids.

"I apologize for my friend's rather rash behavior." Obi-wan said to him.

"Nine months, man. It took me nine months." Jaybo remarked before jumping into a hammock he set up between the legs of two Vulture droids. Obi-wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka exchanged some looks when Jaybo clapped twice.

"Oh, that's our cue." A droid said as it began fanning him and another walked forward with a plate of berries.

"Channel two." Another droid adjusting a dial on its chest and began playing music to make a rather comforting and relaxing atmosphere.

"How'd a kid like you come by this many battle droids anyway?" Anakin wondered.

"Simple. When the Separatists took off, they left all this junk behind. I got a whole warehouse full of them right over there." Jaybo pointed behind him.

"So, you programmed them to serve you." Obi-wan remarked.

"No reason to let a good droid rust, right?" Jaybo remarked.

"Mm-hmmm. Looks like you used a macro protocol to wipe them all simultaneously." Anakin deduced. "Impressive."

"I see you know your droids. And ships if that sweet Corellian freighter is any indication. Heavy blast armor and two powerful sub-light engines. She's a beauty." Jaybo stated. "Not the kind of ship I expect Jedi to fly. She's more for serious pilots and smugglers."

"She actually belongs to a close friend of ours and he's why we're here. What we need is reeksa root. Do you know where we can find some?" Obi-wan asked.

"Here, there, everywhere." Jaybo remarked before laying back down in his hammock.

"We don't have time for games, kid. We need that root." Anakin told him only for Obi-wan to calm him down.

"What my friend is trying to say is that we are in a bit of a hurry. Please, if you could help us. Our friend requires the root urgently." Obi-wan pleaded.

"I hate to break it to you, Jedi but you're not going anywhere. This system is haunted, cursed, whatever. Anyway, even with a ship as good as yours, no one gets off this rock alive, not past Drol." Jaybo warned him.

"Drol!" the droids shook in fear at the name.

"Drol?" Ahsoka asked.

"Yeah, Drol, the phantom ruler of Iego. He destroys anything that leaves the planet. Fifty of the best star pilots in the galaxy have tried. Fifty tried, and fifty died." Jaybo explained.

"I suppose that explains the ruined ships in the moon belt." Obi-wan said. "But I'm confident that if any ship can get past Drol it's the Tempest but we need the root. Can you show us?"

"Fine by me." Jaybo ate another berry before jumping from his hammock and leading them down the cliffside. Other then the very steep and dangerous looking cliffside that you'd need advance gear to get down, there were vines that probably went to some kind of plant.

Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-wan began their climb down but Jaybo was staying up on the clearing where it was safe. "You're not coming?" Obi-wan asked.

"You're kidding, right? No way I'm going down there." Jaybo replied.

"You trying to tell us something?" Anakin wondered.

"Don't worry, it's simple. Follow the vines to the bottom, dig up the roots, but don't touch the vine." Jaybo warned them.

"Why not?" Ahsoka asked.

"Because the plants don't like it, and they have big, sharp teeth." Jaybo answered.

"Teeth? This is getting better by the minute." Anakin remarked, looking down at their destination.

"And watch out for the flying Xandu!" Jaybo shouted.

"What's a Xandu?" Ahsoka asked when they heard a rumble and a four limbed, two winged creature flew out of a hole in the cliffside. Anakin managed to grab onto one of its leg as it screech and flew around. "I guess that answers it."

"Hop on!" Anakin told Ahsoka and Obi-wan who did, grabbing onto its limbs as their combined weight seemed to take the Xandu down like a hot-air balloon.

"This isn't going to work!" Obi-wan remarked as they continued downward.

They managed to land and find the root they needed but got a surprise visitor. Jaybo was right about the vines as some kind of Venus fly trap plant creature burst from the ground and was not happy to see them. Ahsoka dug for the root while Anakin and Obi-wan kept the plant creature back and when they had it, they made their way back up.

Jaybo was showing them the way back along with telling them what happened and why the Separatists were gone. "The place dried up once the spice convoy stopped running. Out here, we're just one of the millions of little backwaters no one cares about. Those of us who are left can't leave because of the curse."

"Cursed, we are. The planet is cursed." They heard an elderly male Quarren shout from his place behind some old crates.

"Cursed by whom, my twitchy friend?" Obi-wan asked.

"The ghost of Drol, that's who."

"A ghost?" Anakin asked.

"The spirit of the 1,000 moons, our protector and destroyer." The Quarren said.

"If you ask me it sounds like a load of—"

"Superstition?" Obi-wan finished.

"Well, that's one word." Anakin replied.

"Superstition you say?" the Quarren placed a holovid on the table of a Nemodian pilot who was trying to leave the planet.

"Can't hold on much…someone help me. AH!" The video ended when an explosion went off, presumably destroying the ship and its pilot.

"That was Taquito. He was a friend of mine." Jaybo said.

"Try to leave this planet and your fate will be the same." The Quarren warned them.

"Our friend is dying and we're his only chance. We're going." Ahsoka stated. They got back onto the Tempest and tried to leave the planet but did end up running into Drol. Drol, as it turns out, was actually an energy field set up in the moon field of Iego. The Separatist set it up so no one could leave and the people of the planet have been trapped ever since. The Tempest was a fine ship but it wasn't going to make it past the energy field in one piece. They had to come up with a new plan but they had to hurry.

Back with Will on Naboo…

Will was racing down a hallway of the lab, his face starting to show more signs of the Blue Shadow Virus infection. His eyes had bags forming around them and more of his veins were becoming visible and turning blue. He was getting more tired and it was taking a lot more energy and willpower to keep fighting but there were still droids in the base. Two destroyer droids rolled down the hallway and unfolded, activating their energy shields, and blasting at him. He blocked and parried their fire, remaining as diligent as he could but it was getting harder. He deflected a blaster bolt with his saber when another skimmed past his left arm.

"Frak…" He fell into the wall and quickly fired a missile from his forearm launcher that disabled their shields before throwing a thermal detonator. The small explosive went off, taking out the two droids as he slid down the wall and grabbed his arm in pain. "I'm getting…I'm getting sloppy…"

He removed his hand to see it had some blood on it but what worried him was that it was shaking. He coughed a bit before reaching into his belt and taking out some gauze which he wrapped around the wound. It was just a graze and not going to be what killed him. He managed to tighten it using his hand and teeth before digging his hand into the wall and forcefully pushing himself back to his feet.

"Two more…two more…"

He walked down the hall and made his way to the north entrance where BD-8 said the last group of droids was located. Normally, he would have run but he wanted to save his strength which he felt slowly ebbing away from his body. It took him about thirty minutes of walking to make it to the north entrance where he saw two battle droids on a ladder with a third cutting away at the exit hatch. Calling on the force to speed forward, he cut the droids into pieces before force-pulling the one by the hatch and cutting it in half. With that taken care of he deactivated his saber and leaned against the ladder.

"I did it…I did it…" He muttered, walking over to the wall, and using it to support him as he made his way over to BD-8.

Rathtar Squad, Captain Rex and a squad of Clones were stationed on the surface of lab and quickly sealed up the exit hatches per their orders but they also had explosive ordnance ready to blast a hole down to retrieve Commander Vizsla. Senator Amidala, Representative Binks, and some Naboo royal guards had arrived to give them some food and supplies and to check on the situation. No virus vapor had leaked out and it was contained in the lab. Only problem was that Will was down there with it against who knows how many battle droids. Hevy, Fives, Echo, and Rex were having a hard time with the situation since they knew Will better than the other clones and they had to just sit back while he was down there. They've never felt more helpless than now.

Senator Amidala gave out some rations to the clones and noticed the highly specialized bio-containment Republic unit that arrived. They weren't a unit of the Clone army but rather a part of Republic Defense Coalition. They were a specialized group that was trained to handle events of a bio-chemical nature such as disease outbreaks and such. They wore specialized yellow and green containment suits that protected them from any kind of infectant with a mask and rebreather supply of oxygen that let them go into quarantined zones and handle certain tasks. Given the nature of the Blue Shadow Virus, the second Padme saw the dead animals by the water she had Captain Typho contact Coruscant to send a unit to Naboo. They just arrived too late and were stuck outside the base with everyone else.

She then walked over to Captain Rex, Hevy, Echo, and Fives. The members of Rathtar squad had their helmets off and were visibly distraught with what was going on. Just waiting around…it was torture.

"Can I interest you men in something to eat?" Senator Amidala asked.

"We're fine, Senator. None of us really have an appetite." Fives replied.

"I'm sorry about your commander. I don't know Will like the rest of you but from the times I've met him…he's an exception Jedi." She told them.

"We've only ever served under one Jedi commander but I don't think we could serve another as well as we do him." Hevy stated. "We shouldn't have left him down there alone. Hell, we were bred to die for the cause but what about him?!"

"Calm down, Hevy." Echo told him.

"How can you tell me to calm down when the commander is down there alone?!" Hevy shouted.

"You don't think it affects us as much as you do?!" Echo replied, getting in his face.

"That's enough you two!" Rex got in the middle and pushed them apart. "He wouldn't you three coming apart like this."

"Rex is right." Five stood up so they looked at him. "Any one of us would have gone down there with him but there's nothing we can do about that now. The Commander knew the risks and he chose to give us a chance. The three of us know better than anyone that he would have risked his life for anyone. He's choosing to go down like a true soldier and Mandalorian. This is the way."

"This is the way." Hevy and Echo replied. They were versed in Mandalorian mannerisms and culture and knew that Fives was right. That didn't mean they had to like it. That's when Echo's communicator got a signal.

"Echo…Echo can you hear me?" They heard before a hologram of Will appeared from a communicator. He was breathing heavy, had visible bags around his eyes along with blue veins that coursed all over his face and body. "Fives? Hevy? Can anyone hear me?"

"Sir?!" Echo cleaned up the transmission so it was as smooth as possible. "We read you loud and clear sir."

"Commander, are you all right?" Fives asked.

"I'm alive…a little scraped and bruised but I'm still walking." Will replied. While they were looking at a hologram, they saw the gauze wrapped around his arm and how much the Blue Shadow Virus was affecting him. The virus was coursing through his veins which they could see along with the visible coloring around his eyes. And judging by how he was hunched over and breathing heavy, he wasn't doing good. "I managed to stop all the battle droids in the base. I repeat, all the battle droids are destroyed. Naboo is safe from further contamination. [Heavy coughing] Keep this bunker shut until the gas dissipates in a few hours."

"The Queen and I will never be able to repay you for what you've done today, Padawan. I've never met a Jedi with more courage than you." Padme told him.

"Thank you, Senator. I'm just doing my job." Will replied, covering his mouth as he let out several heavier coughs before turning his head to spit.

"Sir, you need medical attention, badly. We're coming down there to get you." Hevy told him.

"Negative, Hevy. The virus is still flowing throughout the base. We can't risk it getting out." Will reminded him. "I knew what was gonna happen when I saw the bomb go off."

"Don't worry, sir. General Skywalker and Kenobi left to get reeska root for the antidote. Knowing them, they're probably already on their way back here. Just hang on a little longer." Rex told him.

"If they come let me know. I'm ready for miracle but I am ready to make my final stand if this is it. And saving an entire planet and galaxy from the work of a madman…that's a good enough end for me. Hevy, Fives, Echo…a commander couldn't ask for better men to lead into battle. I'm proud to have fought beside each and every one of you." Will told them, bringing his right arm over his chest. "Let Mandalore look over all of you in this life and the next and guide your spirits to the next fight. This is the way."

"This is the way." They repeated, putting their arms over their chest when Will shut the communication line off.

Inside the lab, Will walked over to a wall and slid down to sit and rest. He took out his respirator from his belt and took one last breath of air before it was empty and he tossed it aside. He heard small metallic clanks coming from left hallway along with the flash of a flashlight and saw BD-8 walked into view, turning his light off when he saw Will sitting on the ground.

BD-8 hustled over and looked up at Will. [Sad Droid speak]

"Looks can be deceiving buddy. I feel like a million credits." Will joked only for BD-8 to shake his head.

[Curious Droid Speak]

"Yeah, we did it, buddy." Will pat BD-8 on the head as the little droid nudged into his hand. "We saved the galaxy from a madman…we did it."

BD-8 looked at the condition Will was in and immediately popped out a stim vial which clattered on the ground. He nudged it over to him and he grabbed it before injecting it into his thigh. "It's a thoughtful gesture, buddy but it's not gonna do much." He said before looking at his friend. "I want you to listen to me, buddy, and listen very carefully. You got to promise to take care of Hevy, Fives, Echo, and the others, especially Ahsoka. We both know how reckless she can be. You've got to promise to look after her for me."

[Confident Droid Speak]

Will pat BD-8 on the head and let out a weak chuckle before another deluge of coughs. "I appreciate the confidence you have in the others, buddy but we also have to be realistic. The data we got on the virus doesn't paint a pretty picture. You've got to promise me you'll look after the others."

[Sad Droid Speak] BD-8 gave him a hesitant nod in response and cuddled into his side. Will held him close and leaned his head back when BD-8 took a few steps to the side and began projecting something from his holoprojector. It was a recording of him and his mom back on Coruscant, just playing together. He was about six in the hologram so it was recorded years ago.

"And so Mandalore the First rode atop his mighty Mythosaur steed known as Veraxes, the mightiest of all the beast. He was the mightiest of the Taung species and led our people to what would become our home planet of Mandalore. They named it in his owner and the Mandalorians were born. We were the galaxies fiercest warriors and the next several thousands of years we flourished and expanded. When Mandalore the Indomitable led us in our expanding conquest and where we fought against the Nevoota and freed the slaves of the Iskalloni, the cyborgs of Wild Space. The Republic didn't do anything to help them but we did and took them into our culture." Pio Vizsla recounted, using little toys and holovids for her story.

"That's when our people began foundlings." Young Will said and she smiled, kssing his head.

"Yes. By creed, Mandalorians could not leave abandoned children to their fate whether in battle or anywhere else. We care for them until a time comes when they can return to their own or adopt our way of live. This is the Way."

"This is the Way." Young Will repeated. "So, what happened with Mandalore the Indomitable?"

"We continued to expand to the Deep core until the Great Sith War and the first of many…many mistakes our people have been a part of. Mandalore's have risen and fallen, some against Jedi and Sith such as when the Jedi known as Revan defeated Mandalore the Ultimate in single combat. But things change with time. According to legend, one of our greatest warriors turned mercenaries, Canderous Ordo worked alongside Revan to stop Darth Malak and the Sith Empire and became Mandalore the Preserver. He wanted to unite our clans after we were scattered but came more war throughout the galaxy and our people were there through all of it. The Great War between the Republic and Sith Empire, fighting against the Eternal Empire, the New Sith Wars, and eventually the civil war that tore of home world of Mandalore apart." Pio Vizsla recounted, her voice heavy with sorrow, guilt, and regret.

"Are you ok, mom?" Young Will asked. She took a deep breath before hugging him close and laying kissed on his head causing him to laugh.

"I'm fine, you little womprat." She began tickling him all over when he managed to get loose and climb on her head.

"I am Mandalore the Ultimate and ride the Great Mythosaur!" He shouted as she moved around before grabbing him and holding him close. "Can I be the next Mandalore mom?"

Pio looked at her son with hope and joy. "You can be so much more, William." She told him. "I look at you and I see the next great fighter of our clan!"

"I'll be the best Mandalorian there is. I'll train and study harder than anyone before and lead our people!" He stood up tall with determination that was rather cute given his age and size.

"I know that you will, my son." She held him close and looked over at an old food container that was crushed. William accidently crushed it with his mind and she knew what that meant. "You'll follow in the steps of Tarre Vizsla and hopefully lead our people back from the hole we put ourselves in. And no matter what you do…I know you will do great things. And I couldn't be prouder."

BD-8 ended the hologram and looked back at Will who had tears running down the side of his face. The small droid walked over and nuzzled up against his side. "I hope I made you proud mom…Don't worry…I'm coming…" He and BD-8 just laid there amongst the vapor of the Blue Shadow Virus that was slowly dissipating.

A few hours later, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-wan returned to Naboo with the Reeska root and immediately took it medical facility where they began making the antidote. While they did that, Rex, Hevy, Fives, and Echo breached into the lab after making sure the virus vapor had fully dissipated. They rappelled down cables and moved in formation through the lab using their headlamps for light while Echo tracked down the only body signature which was going to be Will.

The four raced down the halls until they saw him lying on the ground next to BD-8. [Happy Droid Speak] BD-8 climbed up onto Fives shoulder while Echo knelt down to check on Will. His skin was pale and he was unconscious but Echo did manage to find a very faint pulse. "GET A MEDICAL DROID DOWN HERE NOW!"

Will was put on a stretcher and moved from the base with an entire squad of medical droids tending to him. His pulse was faint and they managed to give him some medicine for the pain but time was running out so they took him straight back to Theed. The second they arrived, a medical team put him in a special capsule stretcher and took him straight to the medical wing. The capsule would keep him isolated and provide clean oxygen while his body recovered after being given the antidote which the doctors were able to quickly make thanks to the records they had. Luck was on their side as if they had arrived an hour later than he wouldn't have made it.

Hevy, Fives, and Echo were stationed outside Will's recovery room while medical droids along with medical doctors who were wearing hazmat suits did their analysis and kept check of his vitals along with his blood levels to monitor the virus being eliminated from his system. He had a breathing mask over his mouth and was laid on a table with his Padawan robes removed so he was just wearing pants. His skin was still pale but the blue veins and bags around his eyes were slowly fading.

Obi-wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, Senator Amidala, and Captain Typho were in an observation room watching the medical droids and monitoring his recovery. "The antidote for the Blue Shadow Virus is working slowly but his body's toxicity levels are going back to normal levels. He'll need to stay here to recover for a few days but after that he should be fine." Captain Typho explained.

"Mando is tough. He'll pull through." Ahsoka commented and many agreed with that sentiment.

"His sacrifice and dedication won't be forgotten. The Queen has informed me that she is meeting with the other delegates of Naboo to inform them of what happened. There are even talks that they are putting Will in for a Medal of Valor, one of Naboo's highest honor." Padme told everyone. "What he did was very brave."

"It was. He's one amazing Padawan, Obi-wan. You should be proud." Anakin said to him.

"I am." Obi-wan's smile indicated as much. "Let's give him time to rest. We still have a job to do."

"Right. I'll head with Rex and we'll escort Doctor Vindi to Coruscant for his trial." Anakin said and everyone began to file out of the observation room.

Obi-wan was the last to leave as he looked at his Padawan laid out on the medical table. Staying behind and keeping the virus back so everyone else could escape and making sure the droids didn't let the virus spread was very brave. He was young yet he was more than willing to protect others even if it meant risking his own life. A trait that Dooku had back when he was a young Jedi and first joined the order. Qui-Gon often spoke of Dooku's willingness to help others and protect people…and it was one of the reasons he left the order. He was upset with the orders strict rules and obedience to the Republic who he viewed as corrupt and wasting Jedi lives for political reasons. The skirmish on Galidraan against the Mandalorians where he lost most of the Jedi he went with and ended up being used by the Governor for political reasons. Upset with the workings of the Republic and the actions of the council…issues the son shared along with his father.

Aayla Secura informed Obi-wan of their talk during their impromptu crash landing and meeting the Lurmen village. There was conflict within the young Padawan which she sensed and it was reasonable given everything that has happened and didn't seem to bother Will during their mission to Orto Plutonia. But given what he learned about Will's parentage, him having the same hesitation that drove Dooku to leave the order and start the Separatist alliance…it was a concern.

Obi-wan was pulled out of his thoughts when his communicator went off so he went to a nearby terminal and connected it. After a few seconds of connecting to Coruscant, holograms of Master Yoda and Master Windu appeared. "Master Kenobi, how goes the recovery of your Padawan?"

"He's been administered the antidote and his recovery is moving along slowly but the doctors are confident he'll make a full recovery." Obi-wan replied.

"Disastrous for the galaxy, this could have been. Very brave, your Padawan." Yoda commented.

"Yes, Master Yoda. He was very brave." Obi-wan looked back at Will in the medical room. "Not many would have done what he did and risked his life."

"You've trained him well then." Master Windu told him.

"I believe that my training did little to change the kind of person he is but thank you, Master Windu." Obi-wan replied. "Anakin is getting Doctor Vindi for transport back to Coruscant."

"Good. The sooner that man is behind bars, the better." Master Windu said when Master Yoda noticed something was trouble Obi-wan.

"Something troubles you, Master Kenobi. About your Padawan? Or perhaps, discovery of his parentage if what worries you?" Yoda wondered. Yoda and Windu were probably two of the few high-ranking members of the order who were aware of who Will's father is. Them and a few senior members of the council were most likely made aware of his parentage when he started training.

"Yes, Master. Will is an exceptional Padawan and I'm proud to teach him all I can. In many ways, he reminds me of Qui-Gon but…I'm also concerned if he is heading down the same path that led his father astray." Obi-wan admitted.

"Certain, nothing is. Much less the path of one Padawan or another. Young Will's destiny, clouded it is. But much is certain, a good heart he has. To the best of your ability, guide him you must. And trust in the force." Yoda told him.

"Yes, Master Yoda." Obi-wan bowed his head.

"Keep us updated on any changes that occur, Master Kenobi." Master Windu told him.

"Yes, Master Windu." Obi-wan ended the communication signal and let everything sit in his brain. He had a decision to make and whatever he decided would affect his Padawan. Should he not say anything, guide Will as best as he could and hope the truth never comes out or should he tell him the truth and pray that he doesn't go down the same path that Dooku went down.

Naboo Medical Center, Planet Naboo

It's been three days since Will was rescued from the base and given the antidote for the Blue Shadow Virus. The first day was harsh because of Will's heavy exposure to the virus so it left his body exhausted. That day was spent mainly on bedrest but hearing that the virus wasn't spread and Vindi was on Coruscant in a jail cell made him feel better. By the second day, Will's recovery was much better and he was close to a hundred percent. The doctors wanted him to recover and take it easy for a week but that wasn't really an option so they opted for three days of observation.

Hevy, Fives, and Echo were happy that he was on the mend and back on his feet. Even though he was stuck under medical observation, the four of them used that time to be as productive as possible. Hevy, Fives, and Echo kept up the training of Ghost Company because rumor has it that the Senate was pushing the army for a new offensive on the Planet Ryloth. While they kept up the training of Ghost Company, they did manage to smuggle in some stuff for Will so he wasn't sitting around all day. There was a project he was working on back at the temple and he was nearly finished with it but at the moment he was just putting on the finishing touches of the recommissioned Separatists Probe Droid they captured during the Lurmen/Defoliator mission. With it being an old Separatist Probe Droid, it made it the perfect recon tool for missions plus you never want to waste a good droid. With BD-8's help, they wiped the droid's old programming so it was now going to work with Will and the others. He even modified it so that BD-8 could ride and control it if more precision were needed.

Obi-wan walked into his Padawan's recovery room to see him and BD-8 putting the finishing touches on a Probe Droid. "Sorry, Master. I didn't know you were coming." Will put his tools down and cleaned his hands with a rag.

"It's quite all right, Padawan. I'm just glad to see you're listening to the doctors and not doing anything strenuous. Can we speak for a moment?"

"Sure thing. BD-8, take XR on for a test drive." Will said.

BD-8 nodded and climbed onto the Probe droid where he used his scomp link to steer the droid out of the room. "XR?" Obi-wan asked.

"Stands for Experimental Recon. Didn't want to waste a perfectly good droid and using an old Separatist one might come in handy." Will pointed out. "Is everything all right, Master?"

"Time will tell." Obi-wan replied, earning a confused look from his Padawan. "There is something you should know…something regarding your unusual advancement and skills I've witnessed our several months together."

"Ok…" Will wasn't sure where this was going but Obi-wan seemed serious.

"After our mission to Orto Plutonia I put in a request to the Jedi Temple to look at your records. You have an unusually high midi-chlorian count that exceeds all the Padawans and even some Jedi knights in the order." Obi-wan told him.

"Higher than you, Master?" Will joked but noticed Obi-wan seemed dead serious. "Oh…"

"Yes, your count is higher than mine and even some masters with the exception of several like Master Windu and Master Yoda. It's rare for a Padawan to have such a high count but I found out how that's possible. It was passed down from your father." Obi-wan explained.

"I never knew my father. My mother always told me that she met him during the Civil war on Mandalore but she never told me a lot. I think she didn't really know anything. She said he was mysterious and kept things close to the chest." Will replied before looking at Obi-wan. "You're not my father…are you?"

That earned a chuckle from Obi-wan who found the joke in it. "No, I'm not, Padawan. I was fighting on the other side during the Mandalorian Civil War. I bet that your mother probably took a few shots at me and Qui-Gon during our time there. But there was a match for your father in the temple records. Brace yourself, it is quite a shock."

Obi-wan handed Will a datapad with his medical information including a match for his father in the temple records along with the photo. It was a man with brown hair and green eyes and even though the photo was probably taken years ago he recognized him the second he laid eyes on his face. Granted Dooku was older and had grey hair but it was him. "This…this has to be a joke."

"I'm afraid it isn't, Will. Count Dooku is your biological father." Obi-wan told him.

Will took a seat on his bed and just sat there in stunned silence, unsure how to process this and honestly hoping this was all a dream or maybe a hallucination brought on by his recovery from the virus. He even pinched himself several times to try and wake up but it was real. "I—I…I don't even know how to react. How is this possible?"

"I'm not sure. Dooku did arrive on Mandalore to assist Qui-Gon and I. During our time there, we were separated for a month and we thought he was dead. When we did see him again, he left back for the temple without a word. We weren't sure what was wrong but now I think I understand why." Obi-wan noticed Will was having a hard time processing all of this. "I was contemplating what to do with this information when I found out but I felt that you deserved to know the truth."

"Honestly, I think I would have liked to remain ignorant." Will stated. "My father is leader of the Separatist Alliance…he's the cause for this war. My father is a traitor. If the council knew Dooku was my father then why would they let me join the order? Why would they take the risk?"

Obi-wan walked over and put a comforting hand on Will's shoulder. "Yes, Dooku is your father but he did not raise you. While your situation is unusual, the council was aware that you had no contact with your father or an affiliation with his growing Separatist movement. You were just a child who lost his mother. The council could see the potential you had and everything that happened was a product of your own skill and motivation, not your father's past actions."

"But what now? What does this mean for me?" Will asked so Obi-wan sat down next to his Padawan.

"It can mean everything or it can mean nothing if you so wish it." Obi-wan told him. "Qui-Gon served under Dooku as a Padawan and told me many stories. He was one of the most powerful Knights in the order and rose through the ranks quickly…and was an exceptional duelist. Two things you seem to have inherited."

"What if I inherited more than that?" Will asked.

"Blood isn't a definitive marker for your future. Dooku was a proud member of the order but as you know, over time he began to see issues with how things were done. Events out of our control pushed him away and to the extreme until he joined the Dark Side but that doesn't mean it is your destiny to follow him." Obi-wan wisely stated. "Choice…that is what's important. What you choose to do, who you choose to keep close and what path you choose to follow is your own making. Dooku may be your father but you are the maker of your own destiny, Padawan. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. And I see great things in your future."

Obi-wan's words did much to help ease his padawan's swaying mind. "Thank you, Master." Will replied. "With you in my corner, I think I'll be ok."

"And I'll be here to help whoever I can." Obi-wan told him. "Now, enjoy your rest for another day because tomorrow we're leaving."

"Yes, Master." He replied as Obi-wan left the room but stopped at the door.

"And Padawan…I'm glad you're all right." Obi-wan said to him.

"Thanks to you, Master. I'll never be able to repay that." Will told him.

"You saved me from a droid tank on Christophosis and a Gundark. I'd say this makes us even." Obi-wan remarked before leaving.

Will looked at the datapad and the old picture of Dooku before grabbing his necklace. He ran his finger over the edge of the symbol of Clan Vizsla and sat there with his thoughts. The son of a former Jedi turned Sith Lord and a Mandalorian warrior from an ancient and proud clan. He was quite the paradox, wasn't he? As for what that meant for his future, it was hard to say.

A few days later…

Coruscant, Republic Docking Bay

Obi-wan and Anakin's fleet returned to Coruscant to resupply with fresh troops, vehicles, and weapons for a collective assault on the Planet Ryloth. The Separatists attacked the planet within the first year of the war and overwhelmed the Clone Battalion there under the command of Master Ima-Gun Di. With the war breaking out into other sections of the galaxy, the Republic had to wait until they gathered enough resources and troops to launch another attack to take back the planet. Masters Skywalker would lead the naval battle to break through the blockade and Masters Kenobi and Windu would lead the ground forces.

Will was in the Republic docking bay making the last-minute changes for the Tempest's cloaking system. It was so close to working and with the new hybrid Hibridium crystal power source that Galen Erso sent over, he could test it. Will finished making sure the crystal power generator was secure in its place next to the hyperdrive while Echo ran some additional calculations and adjustments so they didn't blow a compressor or engine socket.

"All right, Hibridium crystal is secure. Echo, are we good?" Will asked, speaking into his communicator.

Echo, who was in the cockpit, double-checked his scanner while BD-8 was plugged into the ship. The droid gave him a final nod that everything was good on their end. "We're good, sir."

"All right. Let's test this thing. Fives, Hevy, you guys ready?" Will asked.

"We're ready, commander." Fives replied. He and Hevy were in a Republic Shuttle to use its scanner for their test.

"All right. Activating cloaking system in five, four, three…two…one…now…" Will counted down.

Echo pulled the lever in the cockpit, activating the cloaking system. The Hibridium crystal began to glow a bright white color with its containment unit keeping the glare from being blinding. The containment unit was also its power regulator and distribution system as it began to power the ship's cloaking field which flickered with electricity for a moment before the entire ship began to shimmer. After a few more seconds, the shimmer engulfed the ship so it was invisible to the naked eye and wasn't there. Many clones and Republic dock hands who were nearby saw the Corellian freighter suddenly vanish into thin air.

"Cloaking system is active, sir. Engines are ready as normal." Echo stated.

"Good. Hevy, Fives, is the scanner picking anything up?" Will asked.

They checked the shuttle's scanner and it wasn't picking up anything. The Tempest's already built-in stealth system made it invisible to nearly any scanner and now the cloaking system made it invisible to visual scans as well. "No, sir. No detection whatsoever. Looks like it worked." Fives reported.

"Perfect. All right, boys. Excellent test. Get your gear and tell Ghost Company to pack up. We're heading to Ryloth and launching a sneak attack on the planet. First things first, I have to convince my master of the plan." Will left the ship with BD-8 quickly following behind before climbing onto his shoulder. The two caught a shuttle to the temple where Master Windu, Kenobi, and Skywalker were meeting to discuss the battle plan going forward.

"So, it's agreed. General Skywalker will lead the assault against the Separatist Blockade and once they have broken through, Master Kenobi and I will lead the ground forces. We'll land our forces near the city of Nabat. It's flat terrain will be the perfect space to land our forces and then we can make the campaign to the City of Lessu." Master Windu explained.

"Don't worry, Master Windu. We'll get through the blockade." Anakin assured him when they heard a knock on the door of their meeting room and in walked Will.

"Forgive my interruption, Masters." Will bowed when he entered.

"What can we do for you, Padawan Vizsla?" Master Windu wondered.

"I understand that we leave for Ryloth soon and I wanted to talk to Master Kenobi about a new resource that has been made available." Will said as BD-8 climbed down his shoulder and onto the command table the Jedi were using. "May I?"

"Of course, but what is this about, Will?" Obi-wan wondered.

"I've completed some alterations to the Tempest that could prove useful to our campaign to take back Ryloth. I recently added a cloaking system to the ship thanks to the schematics on the stealth ship they used on Christophosis. We just completed our first test and with the Tempest's already built-in stealth system, the ship is invisible to both scanners and the eye. BD-8, show them." Will said.

BD-8 plugged into the command table's terminal to show them the design of the ship along with their first test of the cloaking system. The ship did in fact turn invisible so it was unseen to the naked eye. "This is incredible. When did you have the time to do this?" Anakin wondered.

"I spent my time here at the temple working on the ship along with training. Powering the cloaking system was the issue but Galen Erso from Zerpen Labs managed to come up with an alternative Hibridium synthetic crystal." Will explained.

"Impressive, Padawan." Master Windu told him.

"Thank you, Master Windu. With the cloaking system, we can sneak the Tempest through the Separatist blockade onto the planet. Granted, it won't be a full scale invasion but the Tempest will be able to transport a special team along with supplies onto the planet." Will suggested. "Master Kenobi and I can lead a stealth mission onto the planet to clear a landing zone and to provide any intel we can."

"It's a risky maneuver, Padawan. One ship of clones against all those droids." Master Windu cautioned him.

"The longer we wait, the longer the Twi'leks suffer under Separatist control. They're starving down there and we had to abandon them for over a year. They need our help." Will replied. Obi-wan could sense a sliver a guilt coming from his Padawan which was understandable given what he just learned. After learning about his father, Will must have felt an innate sense of guilt for everything the Separatists have been doing because of Dooku. He must have thought that everything he could do to stop the Separatists and help people would make up for what his father has done.

"We'll take your plan into consideration, Padawan but it seems like too great of a risk." Master Windu told him.

"I think we can manage it." Obi-wan stated, earning looked from Anakin and Mace. It was unlike Obi-wan to support such a risky plan. That was more Anakin's style. "My Padawan has proven to be resourceful before and an opportunity like this is something we should take advantage of. I believe with a strong enough detachment of clones we'll be able to secure the landing zone in Nabat until Anakin breaks through the blockade. If all else fails, we can try to regroup with the Twi'lek resistance and resupply them."

"Very well. Make any preparations you can. We launch our assault within the next solar cycle." Windu told them and they all nodded. BD-8 climbed back onto Will's shoulder and he and Obi-wan walked out of the room.

"I can't begin to imagine what you must be feeling, Will but this isn't your fault." Obi-wan stopped down the hall so the two could talk. "Whatever Dooku has done is on him. None of if falls on your shoulders."

"I don't think many people would agree with that, Master, especially if they ever found out the truth. All they could probably think is why the son of a traitor to the order is in their ranks or if I'm secretly a spy." Will stated. While he wasn't sure what to do about the truth he learned, one thing that was clear was how it was going to affect him going forward if people found out. "I may not carry his name but I do carry his blood. Every action he has taken will reflect onto me so I will do whatever I can to make up for that. The Twil'leks have been suffering under the Techno Union rule for over a year. I owe it to them to try and help."

"But putting yourself in harms way or trying to do too much won't matter if you get yourself killed." Obi-wan pointed out. "How can I help you, Will?"

"You're doing more than enough, Master…but this is something I'm gonna have to come to terms on my own." Will told him, knowing that it was true. It was ultimately going to be up to him to how he shaped himself and his future. "I'll prepare the Tempest and put in a call to Kal Skirata and see if we can get Omega Squad for the mission. This seems like something the Cuy'val Dar and the Clone Commandos would consider a picnic."

Will and BD-8 walked away and when they were gone, Anakin walked up to his former Master. "A lot seems to be weighing on Will. Everything ok?" Anakin wondered.

"I'm not sure, Anakin. I'm not sure." Obi-wan replied.

A few days later…

Planet Ryloth invaded, subjected to a brutal droid occupation. The people of Ryloth are starving under the blockade of a Separatist fleet. Evil Separatist leader, Wat Tambor, now rules with an iron fist.

Answering a plea from the Senate, the Grand Army of the Republic mounts a bold offensive to liberate the system. It is up to Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka to make way for Mace Windu's Ground assault. Meanwhile, Obi-wan Kenobi and his Padawan Will lead a secret stealth mission to the planet's surface to take out Separatist defenses and clear a landing zone.

The Republic offensive to take back Ryloth from the Separatists was ready to commence. They gathered enough troops and ships to begin their offensive and Anakin was going to lead the naval battle against Captain Martook's Lucrehulk battleship and two Munificent-class star frigates. Anakin had to break through the blockade to make way for Master Windu and the ground forces.

Obi-wan and Will would be leading a secret mission onto Planet Ryloth using the Tempest and a selected group of clones. They'd sneak onto the planet surface and secure a landing zone while getting any information they could to assist the invasion. The Tempest was a frigate so it had more room that a starfighter with a stealth system installed. Along with all the cargo the ship could hold, Obi-wan and Will would be taking about fifty clone troopers onto the planet. It wasn't a lot so they had to make up for their lack of numbers with skill.

Will and Obi-wan took care of the skill part. Commander Cody was coming along with Rathtar squad and a group of clones from Ghost Company but to finish off their numbers, Kal Skirata and Omega Squad were joining them. The five of them more than made up for the lack of numbers they had and they were ready for whatever surprises the Separatists had.

They finished loading all the cargo the ship could handle including food, medical supplies, and extra ammo. Once that was squared away and the Tempest was fully loaded, Will and Obi-wan walked onto the ship where all the clones were getting their gear and weapons ready for their arrival. The Tempest was a freighter but fifty clones was sort of pushing its occupancy limit and seeing several clones stuck together on the couch in the living area was evident of that. Many of them were going to be stuck standing for the flight but the Tempest would make it a quick one.

"Attention!" Cody shouted and everyone stood up.

"At ease, Gentlemen." Obi-wan told them. "We need to remember why we're going to Ryloth. We came to aid the Twi'leks, not destroy their home. Cody?"

"That means we'll be taking it back the hard way. Minimal destruction with blasters and droid poppers only. No rockets or detonators. Check your aim and keep an eye out for the locals." Cody told them. "Am I understood?"

"Sir, yes, sir!"

"If we're here to free the tail-heads, the least they can do is get out of our way." Clone Trooper Boil muttered while fixing his blaster.

"This isn't going to be like any other missions you've had. We'll be going up against superior numbers so the element of surprise is going to need to be on our surprise. We're fortunate enough to have Commander Skirata and Omega Squad with us today." Will told everyone.

"Happy to be here, kid." Kal twirled his blasters on his fingers before holstering them.

"Ghost Company, this will be my first official mission with you. This isn't going to be easy but follow your training and look out for your brothers. When one chooses to walk the Way of the Mandalore, you are both hunter and prey…" Will said, and Kal smirked when he heard that. "…so today, we make sure we are the hunters. This is the way."

"This is the way." The clones of Ghost Company, Rathtar Squad, Omega Squad and Kal Skirata repeated.

"Wat Tambor is sitting pretty on a planet that can't defend itself. I say we introduce him to some mean clones who have to say about that. Hooah?!" Will shouted.

"Hooah!" They shouted back, getting seated for secured for the flight while Will, Obi-wan, Rathtar squad and Kal Skirata when into the cockpit. They took their seats as BD-8 got situated into the droid slot while Will sat in the pilot's seat with Obi-wan in the copilot seat.

"Negotiator to Tempest, you are clear for exit."

"Roger that Negotiator." Obi-wan replied as Will piloted them off of the hangar of the Negotiator and into space ahead of the Republic Star Destroyer convoy. "Let's hope this plan of yours works, Padawan or else this will be a short mission."

"Here's hoping. Echo, make sure stealth system is powered up and BD-8, get ready to divert power to the shields if necessary." Will told them and they both nodded. "All right, coordinates for Ryloth are set. Tempest to Negotiator, we are cleared for launch."

"Roger that Tempest, you are a go for hyperspace jump."

"Let's do this." He pulled the hyperdrive lever and the ship soon hit lightspeed, traveling through space to Ryloth. The travel would take about half a day so they spent that time going over their plan. Assuming that Tempest's stealth and cloaking system got them through the Separatist blockade, they'd make their way to the city of Nabat. The surrounding terrain was flat enough for the Republic's Acclimator assault ships and a good enough distance to the capital city for their offensive. If the droids occupied the city, then they would have to clear it of droids and protect any Twi'leks they came across until Anakin and the naval forces broke through the blockade. If the blockade couldn't be broken then they'd do what they could and try to meet up with the Twi'lek resistance.

Ryloth Space

The Tempest continued its journey through hyperspace and neared its destination of Ryloth. It was time to put their plan into action.

"All right, we're nearing the Ryloth system." Will said, hitting a few switches and getting the ship ready to come out of hyperspace and activate the cloaking system. "Weapons systems are power up and deflector shields are on standby. Hevy, Fives, you two set on the guns?"

"Lock and loaded, commander." They replied.

"Let's hope this plan of yours works, kid otherwise you better have some good flying skills." Kal told him.

"Then you better make sure your harness is fastened tight, old man. Wouldn't want you to get scared." Will replied.

"Cheeky, kid." Kal muttered.

"All right, stand by on the Cloaking system." Will ordered.

"Standing by." Obi-wan flipped a few switches and pressed a few buttons before placing his hand on the lever. "Set."

"Get ready to activate on my mark. Coming out of hyperspace on three…two…one…mark." He pushed up the hyperdrive lever while Obi-wan pulled the cloaking system one and the second the ship came out of hyperspace the cloaking system activated so other then a momentary flash of light, there was nothing visible in space.

They could see the planet Ryloth dead ahead along with a Lucrehulk battleship and two Munificent class star frigates flanking it. "Well, they haven't opened fire on us yet so that's a good sign." Kal commented.

"Stealth system is operating at normal levels and bouncing Separatists signals back. Cloaking system is a go." Echo reported.

"All right. Let's head in." Will piloted the ship towards the blockade at normal speed. It took a little longer but it was the smart idea considering what they were up against. The Tempest was good but it was suicide to go up against three warships.

On the deck of one of the frigates, a battle droid at its observation station noticed a flash of light appear in deep space but nothing came up on the scanners or video. "That was odd."

"What is it?" Another droid asked.

"I thought I saw something appear over there." The battle droid pointed to the void of deep space.

"Anything on the scanners?" the other droid asked and the scanners came up clean. "Your visual servers must be malfunctioning. Go see a technical droid."

"Roger-roger." The droid got up from its station while another took its place.

Unbeknownst to the droids and three ships, the Tempest was right alongside the Lucrehulk battle station with no scanner or droid any the wiser. Kal got up and looked out the cockpit's window to see the side of the battle station go by as they passed it.

"Unbelievable. We're right next to them and they can't pick us up." Kal commented.

"The Tempest's stealth system was modified by my mother. Only she knows the inner workings of it. Feeds back scanner signals on a quantum loop so it can pass through scan nets with ease. And with the cloaking system working, we're invisible." Will answered, diverting a small amount of power to the forward deflector shields as they neared Ryloth and were pulled down by its gravity.

"I must admit, Padawan, this plan of yours was risky but rather ingenious." Obi-wan told him.

"Well, my mother always told me to think outside the box for any problem. Besides, what tactical droid is gonna think the Republic is stupid enough to try and sneak past a Separatist blockade?" Will wondered.

"Takes a special kind of idiot to come up with that plan." Kal joked, earning a chuckle from BD-8.

"Very funny…" Will muttered. "We're closing in on the planet's surface. Echo, BD-8, get XR ready for a recon run."

"Roger that, sir. Come on, BD-8." Echo got out of his seat as BD-8 climbed up the clones shoulder and the two made their way through ship, passing by the other clones who were sitting around the lounge area and kitchen. "Get your gear ready, boys. We're almost there."

"Party time." Niner said, loading his DC-17m with an ammo clip.

Echo opened up a small case and activated the probe droid. XR was now a modified Separatist Probe droid working for Will and Rathtar squad and to symbolize his part of the team, he had a Clan Vizsla shriek-hawk symbol on it with blue spray paint. "All right, XR. Time to get to work." XR nodded as BD-8 climbed onto the larger droid like a human riding onto a Bantha which was rather amusing.

"We're entering Ryloth's atmosphere." Will reported, piloted the Tempest down to the ground but staying above the trees and forests in the surrounding area. He made his way to the city of Nabat when Obi-wan picked up droid signals on the scanner.

"We've got droids up ahead." Obi-wan reported.

"All right. This is where the fun begins. Echo, XR is a go." Will told him.

"Roger that." Echo opened the ramp and synched his scanner to XR before the Probe droid and BD-8 flew away towards Nabat to do some recon.

"I've found a clearing. I'm putting her down." Will piloted the Tempest into a small clearing in the forest that was large enough for the ship. The engine exhaust kicked up dirt and made some trees ruffle which did cause some native birds to fly away. Hopefully, no droids were nearby but the longer they were on the ground the more likely they'd be discovered so it was time to put their plan into action. "All right, I'm powering down the ship except for the stealth system. Hopefully, it'll keep the droids from picking up the Tempest."

"Now it's Anakin's turn." Obi-wan activated the ships communication line and contacted Anakin. "Anakin, it's Obi-wan. We touched down onto Ryloth. Your naval assault is a go. Break through that blockade so the rest of our ground forces can join us. We should have the city of Nabat secured by the time you break through."

"Roger that, Obi-wan. We're beginning our assault now. Watch your back down there. I'm not going to be able to watch your back." Anakin replied.

"Let's get this show on the road." Kal said as the ship powered down and they all met by the ramp. "Ok, everyone. We're on the planet so things are going to get tougher as we move forward. Omega squad with me. Atin, I want you running scans with Echo the entire time. Fi, I want your sniper on recon."

"All right, Gentlemen. Let's get this started." Obi-wan remarked.

Hevy hit the ship's ramp button and Niner and Fi were the first two out, watching their sectors for any enemy movement but they were clear so they signaled the others to follow. Will, Obi-wan, Kal, Commander Cody, Hevy, Fives, and Echo disembarked the ship along with the rest of Ghost Company that accompanied them. They had all their weapons, ammo and gear they needed on their person. After closing the ramp and making sure the Tempest was secure, the group began making their way north to the city of Nabat. It's where they were going to secure the landing zone but since their scans picked up droids, they had to clear it. Hopefully, with XR and BD-8 on recon, they'd have a better understanding of what they're facing.

The group stuck to the forest, using the trees as cover as they made their way to the city quickly and stealthily. After some traveling through the woods, Atin signaled for all of them to halt and find cover which they did. Kal, Obi-wan, Will, and Commander Cody slowly made their way over to Atin to see what was going on.

"Heavy blaster turrets set up in a building on the edge of the city. A total of 12 battle droids." Atin reported.

"They're probably the outer defenses. We'll need to take them out to move further into the city." Obi-wan said.

"The second those droids see us they'll report back to the commander droid so we'll need to be quick and precise." Commander Cody stated.

"I say we use a couple of droid poppers and take them out to keep the element of surprise." Will suggested.

"Not how I'd handle it but we have Jedi here so why not." Kal replied.

Will and Obi-wan quickly moved towards the defensive perimeter the droids set up, using the force to speed between the trees for concealment while the others stayed behind. When they were close, Will took out a droid popper and signaled to Obi-wan who nodded. Will threw it at right tower on the wall where a turret and several battle droids were set up and Obi-wan used the force to guide it further until it landed right next to them.

"Uh, what's that?" A droid asked only for the droid popper to go off and short circuit the five that were grouped together by the turret.

Will tossed the second one at the left tower and Obi-wan again gave it the needed push to make it. It took out several more droids with ease and no noise. One of the droids on top of the wall got up to make a run for it when it was taken out by a shot to the head. Will and Obi-wan looked and saw it was Fi who took it out with his sniper. They signaled the others to group up and they quickly took the droid's position on the tower defenses and in the village perimeter. Other then the disabled droids, blaster turrets, and some equipment, there was nothing else.

"The wall is secure, sir." Cody reported. "Are we moving further into the town?"

"We need to know what the droids have in store for us. We still have the element of surprise which gives us the advantage." Obi-wan said as Will walked up to him.

"XR and BD-8 should be back soon. When we get their data, we'll be able to better plan our next move." Will suggested.

"A fine idea. Echo, get me a communications line to Master Windu. I want to see how things are going up there." Obi-wan said.

"Right away, General." Echo replied, quickly using the Separatist gear to set up a communications line.

"All right, Ghost Company. Secure our position and take inventory. We don't know what we're gonna run into so we better be prepared." Will told them and they nodded.

Echo managed to use the Separatist communications gear to transmit a signal to the Republic where he managed to get Master Windu. "Master Kenobi, how goes your mission on Ryloth?" Windu asked.

"We've landed on the outskirts of Nabat and encountered a small perimeter defense of droids. We're waiting for reconnaissance before we push further. No doubt the Separatist know we're here by now." Obi-wan reported when Anakin joined the line. "Anakin, how goes your blockade run?"

"They caught us by surprise, master. We were outnumbered." Anakin reported.

"How many men did you lose?" Obi-wan asked.

"We lost a cruiser, the Redeemer, plus an entire squadron of fighters."

"And your Padawan?" Obi-wan asked, with Will paying close attention to hear what was going on with Ahsoka.

"No, uh Ahsoka is fine. She's just recovering from the battle. Losing her squadron was hard to take." Anakin replied.

"Giver her time, but Anakin, you will need her help if you're going to get through this." Obi-wan reminded him.

"I know." Anakin replied.

"Your forces have been cut in half, Skywalker. If you can't break that blockade before the next planetary rotation, we will have to postpone the invasion." Windu told him.

"The Twi'leks on that planet can't wait forever, Master. The longer the Techno Union keeps control of Ryloth, the more difficult it will be to free them." Anakin pointed out.

"I agree. We don't have much time." Windu told him before the communication line ended.

"Looks like things are getting pretty heavy up there." Kal said.

"If anyone can find a way to get through it's Anakin. We just better be ready with a secure landing zone for when they do." Obi-wan replied when they saw something in the distance moving closer and closer.

"Bogey incoming." Fi looked through his scope and lined up a shot when he saw it was a Probe Droid and BD-8 riding on it. "Your droid's back."

"Perfect time." Will remarked as XR floated down so BD-8 could climb onto hia shoulder. "Glad you two are in one piece. All right, XR. Show us what you got."

XR projected a hologram of Nabat it recorded during its flight of an empty city. The Separatists must have away driven the inhabitants when they arrived and took over the city. That's when XR's footage showed an old mining quarry the Separatist were using as an artillery area with at least six Proton Cannon that would make landing ships next to impossible. Aside from the Proton Cannons there were a battalion of battle droids and super battle droids along with two AAT-1 tanks and a Tactical Droid that was in command, TX-20. But what drew their attention were the Twi'leks that they were escorting down into a mine entrance, most likely a prison for them since the Separatist occupation.

"All right, this makes things complicated." Will stated.

"Dealing with the battalion of droids and those two tanks alone with what we have is complicated but the second they see us coming they're start using the Twi'leks as shields." Kal said.

"He's right. We can't risk a frontal attack." Obi-wan stated.

"Getting the Twi'lek civilians out of harm's way would make things easier. Perhaps we can draw the droids out while another group flanks them from behind. That quarry looks pretty isolated." Commander Cody commented.

"XR, are there any other routes into the quarry?" Will asked as the droid highlighted several paths in the city that could be possible entrances but require further investigation. "How about I lead a team into the city to scout for another entrance into the quarry?"

"Good idea. We'll stay here and prepare our main force. Stay on the radio incase something comes up." Obi-wan told him.

"Yes, Master. Rathtar squad, Waxer, Boil, you're with me. XR, you too." Will told them.

"Come on, Omega Squad. Let's do what we do best." Kal said, putting his Mandalorian helmet on and going with Will on his scouting mission.

The group made their way into the city and it was abandoned. Streets were barren, homes were empty and there was no sign of life anywhere. "Buildings are just buildings. What really makes a city are the inhabitants that live in it." Kal commented.

"So, where are they?" Boil asked as they arrived at an intersection in the city that split to the south and the other to the quarry. They headed south to see if they could find another route that cut into the quarry.

Echo and Atin were on their scanners the entire time while everyone was ready to fight but all they got was the eerie calm and quiet of an empty city. "I'll tell you, Waxer, this is creepy. You think they killed all of them?" Boil asked him.

"Well, there are no bodies. They were driven from their homes." Waxer suggested when Echo and Atin got something on their scanner and Will's hearing picked up the sound of gravel crunching.

"Shh…" Will signaled them to stop and hold their position.

"What is it?" Kal asked.

"Something's here." He replied.

Atin signaled Kal who motioned that the sensor was picking up a moving target within 20 meters of their position. He cleared up the signal and motioned to a nearby alley between two homes so he signaled Will.

Will nodded and signaled the others to hold their fire and hug the walls for cover which they did while he and Kal took up opposite positions to the alley. Kal took out one of his blasters while Will unclipped his saber and readied his gauntlets flamethrower just in case. Kal counted down on his fingers from five and the two moved into the alley where they saw a little Twi'lek girl hiding behind some containers.

"Oh…it's just a little girl." Kal said, holstering his blaster. "Relax, everyone. Just a girl."

"What's she doing here?" Hevy wondered.

"Probably hiding from the Separatists." Echo said. "Look at her. Looks like she's been hiding for a while. She probably lived in this village before the Separatists arrived."

"So, what do we do with her?" Fives asked out loud.

"Whoa, whoa, why do we have to do anything about her?" Waxer asked.

"We can't just leave her here. I say we take her with us." Boil stated.

"She'll only slow us down." Waxer said, seeing the girl hiding behind the crate. "Look, she's afraid of us."

"I don't think she's afraid of us." Boil said when Echo's scanner picked up an incoming droid.

"Get down, quick!" Echo told everyone. They all found cover just in time as a Separatist Probe droid passed by. XR floated out from behind the wall only for Will to slightly push him back. The droid left as quickly as it arrived.

"It's a recon unit." Will tapped his communicator. "Master Kenobi, the Separatist have launched a Probe droid. Looks like they might suspect something after their perimeter defenses haven't reported back. Be on the lookout."

"Roger that, Padawan. Any luck on your end?" Obi-wan wondered.

"None yet but we did find a little girl." Will replied, seeing Boil trying to get the girl to come with them only to get bit on the hand. "She's been here a while and the Separatists haven't found her yet. She might know a way into the quarry. I'll keep you updated."

"Be careful, Padawan." Obi-wan replied before the communication line ended.

"Look at her, she's scared of us. Probably thinks were droids." Waxer said before he took off his helmet. "It's all right. See? I'm flesh and blood, just like you."

"She looks half starved." Boil said, taking out a ration stick from his belt. Waxer took it and held it towards the girl who took it after sniffing to make sure it was safe and she began eating.

"Helmets off." Will told everyone and they removed their helmets, Kal included.

The little girl looked at them all in confusion. "Nerra. Nerra."

"No, I'm Waxer. He's Boil." Waxer tried to tell her but it wasn't working.

"Nerra. Nerra." She repeated, pointing to everyone so Will walked forward and knelt down so he was eye to eye with her.

"Kitravo Umbo. Sono Will Vizsla coma Jedi. Kal Skirata coma Cuy'val Dar. Hevy, Echo, Fives, Waxer, Boil, Niner, Darman, Atin, eto Fi coma watcho. Si, watcho coma Nerra." Will said to her. When she finished, she smiled and rushed into his arms. (Hello, young one. I'm Will Vizsla of the Jedi. This is Kal Skirata of the Cuy'val Dar. Hevy, Echo, Fives, Waxer, Boil, Niner, Darman, Atin, and Fi are warriors. Yes, warriors are brothers.)

"Coma Jedi. Numa espresso seto coma Jedi. Jedi autora?" The little girl asked. (Hello, Jedi. Numa is happy to see the Jedi. Are the Jedi here to help?)

"Moka." Will nodded and she smiled. (Yes.)

"Wow, didn't know you were the linguist, commander." Waxer commented.

"Well, when you have a master like Obi-wan you tend to pick up a few things. Languages is one of them. Her name is Numa. She's happy that we're here." He told them. "Numa, devo entros lat citra? Estro la safeta secura?" (Numa, do you know the city? Can you show us a safe place?)

"Moka. Moka." Numa nodded and pulled Will to follow her. (Yes. Yes)

"She might know a way into the quarry. Come on." Will followed Numa and Kal and the others followed him. Numa seemed to be heading in the direction the Probe droid was going so maybe there was a secret entrance that it used. She led them through a side canyon until they arrived at a home at a dead end. Numa grabbed Will's hand and led him in to the old home and judging by how sad she got, it was most likely her home.

"I guess this was her home. Poor little thing lost it all." Waxer said when he saw a small doll on the ground. He wiped off the dust and handed it to her where she began to break down crying. "It's ok, now. We're here to help."

Numa hugged Waxer and it was both sad and very touching. The Twi'leks have lost so much and they were gonna be damned if Will and the others were gonna let them get away with it.

"Don't cry, kid. We'll keep you safe. I…I promise." Boil told her and Numa hugged him as well.

Echo used his scanner to check the area when he took a step and his foot wobbled on something. "What the…" He knelt down to see what he stepped on and saw part of the ground was cut up in a square so he moved it and saw a tunnel. "Check this out."

The others looked to see Echo's discovery and Numa smiled. "Ekcho. Tonnel mersa sabe." (There. The tunnel will keep us safe.)

"We got ourselves a tunnel. Let's see where it leads. XR." Will had the Probe Droid go first before the others followed.

Obi-wan, Cody, and the rest of Ghost Company began to move further into the city towards the quarry. They hadn't encountered anything until they heard some rumbling and trained their guns on the ground when a grate was pushed off and XR floated out followed by BD-8 and Will.

"Padawan, I see you found a tunnel." Obi-wan commented.

"A happy find after a little sidetrack." He replied as Kal and the others climbed out of the tunnel with Numa. "She brought us here through the tunnels. She knows her ways around them."

"Loonala kwee jannweelo?" Obi-wan asked her. (Do you know where the robots come from?)

"Ooh yana-yana. Wah Nerra. Kumee nerra." Numa replied, trying to pull Waxer with her.

"The girl can lead us through the tunnel to the prisoners. Will, go with Numa and your team into the tunnels. Cody and I will give you a diversion." Obi-wan told him.

"Sounds good to me." He replied. Obi-wan and Cody headed for the quarry via the main road while Numa led Will and the others using the tunnels underneath the city. They eventually arrived in the mine shaft which the Separatist had configured into a prison. Will was the first one through and saw the metal bars of a cage but jumped back when a Gudkard bashed into the bars to try and eat him. Gudkards were native animals on Ryloth and were four-legged predators with large round shaped bodies like a tick. They were nasty and Will nearly pissed his pants when it caught him off guard which the other clones and Kal found funny. The Separatists must have them penned up for some reason because he saw a battle droid standing guard over their cages.

He quickly walked up behind it and twisted its head, short-circuiting it before ripping it off. Numa followed right behind him after he took care of the droid. "Bin-bin-kooeneena." She said. (They're up ahead.)

"Master, we found the Twi'leks commence your attack." Will ordered.

"Roger that."

They continued through the mine shaft where they saw more Gudkards in cages before the animals were replaced with the Twi'leks. They were stuck together in cages like animals with binders on their wrists. A blue skinned Twi'lek saw Numa next to the Jedi and rushed to the bars. "Numa! Koma jel ree-kha!" (Numa! Thank goodness you're ok!)

Will activated his saber and cut the cage open and began cutting the restraints off the Twi'leks. Numa was reunited with her father as the other clones began to open the cages and free the Twi'leks. Judging by the sound of blaster fire coming from the mine shaft entrance, Obi-wan and Cody were beginning their attack.

"Wa-janeel. Wah la watcho." Will told them. (Freedom. Follow the warriors.) The Twi'leks nodded in response. "Waxer, Boil, Echo, get them out of here through the tunnels."

"Yes, sir." Echo led the Twi'leks back through the tunnels while Will and Kal led the rest up to the quarry.

Most of the droid battalion was exiting the quarry to battle the clones attacking them from the main road leaving a handful to watch over the Proton cannons. "All right, let's go to work." Will charged out of the mine shaft, activating his saber, and sliced through three droids in quick succession. When another battle droid saw the Jedi, it aimed only for Kal to shoot it twice in the body and then one in the head.

Cody and Ghost Company took up covered positions as they fired on the incoming droid battalion, managing to take down several of them while Obi-wan blocked and deflecting their incoming blaster fire. When the tanks began to open fire, that's when they had to pull back to prevent casualties.

By now, one of the battle droids at the end of the column had spotted the team that had flanked them so more droids began to pour into the quarry. The Tactical Droid, TX-20 turned his tank around to head back and deal with them. Kal led his Omega squad with his dual blasters as Niner backed him up before rolling forward and knocking a droid off its feet and then blasting it in the head.

"Omega squad with me!' Kal led them over to nearby Proton cannon and got in the gunner chair. Darman and Atin loaded a proton round as Kal took aim at a nearby pile of proton shells between two cannons and fired. The explosion was powerful enough that it took out both cannons. He quickly adjusted his aim to fire at the third cannon.

"Setting alpha five or six?!" A droid asked. "Where's the override?!" The droid was too late as Kal fired another proton shell and blew up the canon, causing it to accidently fire its shot at the fourth canon.

"Kal! Tank! Get clear!" Will shouted, seeing the AAT-1 Tank arrive back in the quarry. Kal saw the tank too and quickly got out of the gunner chair as Omega squad broke for cover when a tank blast hit the cannon. The impact knocked Kal and the others down but didn't kill them. "Fives, Hevy, go help them! The tank is mine!"

Fives and Hevy rushed over to the others, providing cover fire against the droids coming back into the quarry while Will charged at them. Using the force to increase his speed, he dodged all their blaster fire before sliding down next to some proton shells that didn't go off and force pushed them towards the droid column.

"NO!" A droid shouted as the shells went off, taking out most if not all of the droids left in the battalion.

TX-20 was still alive in its tank and tried to shoot the Jedi but Will closed the distance and cut the cannon in half before dragging his saber through the side, rending it incapable of moving. He then jumped on top of the tank and stabbed his saber through the tactical droid.

"Does not compute. Does not compute. Does not—"

TX-20 was cut off when Will ripped its head off with his own hands and tossed it onto the ground. "You win some you lose some and today you lost." Will remarked before activating his communicator. "Master Kenobi. The proton cannons are taken care of along with the tactical droid."

Obi-wan finished taking out several super battle droids in quick succession with a saber whirlwind while Cody blasted the last one. "The rest of the droids are taken care of."

"Then we did it. We secured Nabat and saved the Twi'leks." Will said, proud that they managed to do it.

"And just in time. I've gotten word that Anakin and Ahsoka have punched through the Separatist Blockade. Master Windu and the rest of the ground forces are on their way as we speak." Obi-wan told him as he and the others saw the Acclimator-class assault ships arrive in the atmosphere and make their way down to begin deploying troops and heavy armor.

The Twi'leks were given medical care and food and would be able to return to their homes in the village. With the landing zone cleared, Clone battalions and walkers began to disembark for the rest of the campaign. Will and Obi-wan met with Master Windu who arrived his clone commander, Ponds.

"Great job getting rid of those cannons and securing the landing zone. Now we have a more difficult objective. We must take the capital and free this world." Obi-wan told them as Waxer and Boil bid goodbye to Numa who was reunited with her father. Will waved goodbye as well as he and the others followed Master Kenobi.

"Nerra! Nerra!" She shouted as she waved goodbye.

"Sir, what is that she keeps calling us?" Boil asked Will.

"Nerra. It means brother." He replied.

Waxer, Boil, Will and the others waved goodbye as they joined the others to continue the campaign to free Ryloth.

Line Break xxxxx

Republic Victory is at hand. Clone troopers under the command of the Jedi, have successfully invaded the Separatist-occupied world of Ryloth. Anakin Skywalker battles the enemies in the skies, while Obi-wan Kenobi frees villages from the grip of vile Separatist leader Wat Tambor.

Now Jedi General Mace Windu and Padawan Will Vizsla leads the attack on enemy lines in the final offensive to liberate the capital city of Lessu.

With the Grand Army of the Republic finally gaining the momentum on the planet after Anakin broke through the naval blockade, the ground forces began to press onward to the rest of the planet. Master Kenobi lead the 212st battalion south to secure the Twi'lek villages and free any Twi'leks they encountered while Master Windu went north to the Capital city of Lessu. Obi-wan had Will and Ghost Company go with Master Windu on the journey for two reasons which were sort of connected. One, to give him some experience under different Jedi Master. And two, to test how well he would do under pressure with someone like Master Windu watching him. Will had a lot of potential so it was time to see how well he did under pressure.

Master Windu didn't seem to mind and took the Padawan and his company of 144 clone troopers into his own group of the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corp alongside Clone Commander Ponds. Their armored convoy of AT-TE walkers were focused to navigate along a narrow canyon to get to the capital of Lessu which the Separatist used to their advantage. They set up a detachment of ATT-1 hover tanks on the ridge and opened fire at the clone convoy who were trapped. It wasn't an advantageous position but considering it was their only way to move to the capital, they had no other choice. The gunners in the AT-TE walkers fired back as they slowly moved forward.

Will, Rathtar Squad and Ghost company were at the rear of the armored convoy providing fire support. Hevy loaded a missile into his rocket launcher and took careful aim to account for wind before firing. The missile sailed through the air and managed to destroy one of the hover tanks but there were still five more and they managed to focus fire on the lead AT-TE Walker, crippling it and effectively boxing them in.

"Dammit! We're boxed in!" Will muttered as he and his team took cover. Master Windu quickly got out of the disabled walker and saved the pilots before the rest of the clones in the walkers moved to cover.

"We have stopped the enemy advance." A droid reported.

"Give me those." A command droid took the binoculars to see for itself. "Good. Now order our cannons to target their rear units. We'll box them in and blast them to pieces."

Echo fired a few shots from his DC-17m before getting back behind cover. "Sir, what do we do?"

"We need to take out those tanks. Hevy, keep firing when you get an opening. I'm gonna give them something else to target. Waxer, Boil, get me my Solarboard!" He shouted.

"Right away." Waxer and Boil went to one of the walkers and removed a long case before bringing it over. "This is gonna be good."

Will opened the case and removed a long board of metal with a small pair of blaster cannons on the front and two small engines on the back with hover pads on the bottom. He put the board down so it hovered less than a foot off the ground before he got on it, his boots sticking to the board's electrical pads. (1) "Master Windu, I can get through the ravine and take out those hover tanks. I'm having Ghost Company laid down suppressive fire."

"How do you plan to make it across the ravine?" Windu asked, dragging one of the injured clones away from the wreckage.

"I've got something special. Ghost Company, cover fire!" Will shouted, stepping on a switch on the board which unfolded a large solar sail. The solar sail absorbed solar radiation as an energy source for space craft or in this case, something smaller. The small engines on the back powered up and he began moving along the ravine, surfing on his solar board. It wasn't as fast as a speeder, but faster than an AT-RT and more maneuverable and more than fast enough to avoid the hover tanks fire. He steered the hoverboard through the ravine, fitting through the tight spaces of the walkers and ravine wall.

He sailed past Master Windu and Commander Ponds who saw the Padawan race by on what appeared to be board with a solar sail attached. "What on earth is that?" Master Windu wondered.

Will saw the crippled walker in the way but just tilted his board and skimmed off a large rock to jump over it. "WOO!" He cleared the walker and continued through the ravine.

"Sir, the enemy is advancing again." A droid reported.

"Let me see." The commander droid took the binoculars again and saw Will sailing through the ravine at a high speed and closing in, swerving from side to side to avoid the tank fire.

"Now that Jedi is leading the attack by himself." The droid reported.

"This doesn't look good. Concentrate all your fire on that…whatever that thing is." The commander droid ordered.

The tanks concentrated their fire but Will's solar sail but fast and nimble and he was able to avoid their fire and impacts. "Did we get him?" A droid asked only to see the Jedi get close. Some tank fire made a small explosion only for the Jedi to sail over it on his solar board.

Will pressed a trigger on his solar sail guard and the twin blasters on the front began firing at the droids and the tanks. "Should we—gah!" A droid was cut off as it got blasted to pieces along with the commander droid next to it. Will sailed around the tanks, firing at the battle droids set up around the tanks before going in close and activated his saber. He sailed next to one and sliced it in half along the side before heading to the next one and blasting it in the back, causing it to explode. He then sailed straight at the last one and jumped off it like a ramp but threw down a thermal detonator during the jump so when he landed it took out the tank.

With the tanks dealt with, he hit the button again with his foot to retract the solar sail and power down his board. His distraction took out the droid tanks and gave Master Windu time to clear the destroyed walker and allow the rest of their armor to clear the ravine. Master Windu joined Will by the destroyed tanks and admired his work. "A rather unconventional strategy with an unconventional weapon. Where did you get it?" He asked.

"I made it. I spent some time at the temple before the Blue Shadow Virus incident on Naboo and spent my time working on the upgrades to the Tempest, training, and the solar board. It's not as fast as a speeder but faster than an AT-RT walker and more maneuverable. In all the conflicts I've fought alongside Master Kenobi, having something fast and nimble like this would have helped tremendously." Will replied.

"Well done, Padawan." Master Windu told him when they were joined by Commander Ponds. "How many men did we lose?"

"22, I think, including command crews of two walkers. It would have been worse but the commanders distraction helped." Commander Ponds nodded to Will who nodded back. "The goods news is that General Kenobi's broken their lines. We can clear a path straight to the capital now."

"This battle was costly. We're going to need help to take the city." Master Windu stated.

"Are you thinking of getting the help of the Twi'lek freedom fighters? Our troops have been unable to contact them since our arrival." Will told him.

"If we're going to take Lessu then we'll need their help." Master Windu said and he was right. They didn't have enough men to take the capital.

The walker column continued moving to the capital. Master Windu and Will entered the lead walker to join the communication line between Chancellor Palpatine, Master Yoda, Senator Orn Free Taa of Ryloth, and Master Skywalker.

"What's your progress, Skywalker?" Palpatine asked.

"My fighters have secured control of the space around Ryloth. We have the Separatists cruisers on the run." Anakin answered.

"Very good, General Skywalker." Palpatine said to him as Anakin left while Master Windu brought up the planetary map.

"Master Kenobi has taken the Jixuan desert, so the southern hemisphere is ours." Master Windu reported.

"Then it's almost over." Senator Taa said in relief.

"Not yet. The key position is the capital of Lessu. Our spies are certain the Separatist leader Wat Tambor has his command center there." Windu told them.

"When taken the city we have, capture Tambo we must." Master Yoda stated.

"It's not going to be easy, Master. Tambor has chosen his stronghold well. The city is ray shielded and this plasma bridge is the only way in or out." Windu explained.

"I'm afraid a siege could drag on indefinitely." Palpatine worried.

"My people have suffered so much already." Senator Taa said.

"A plan you have to take the bridge, Master Windu? Hmm?" Master Yoda asked.

"With our forces stretched so thinly, I'm going to enlist the help of the freedom fighters, led by Cham Syndulla. His fight against the droids have made him a symbol of freedom for the people." Master Windu suggested.

"Cham Syndulla was a radical before the war. He is very unpredictable." Palpatine said.

"He can't be trusted. I know Syndulla seeks to gain power. We were political rivals." Senator Taa informed them.

"I'll leave the politics to you, Senator. I'm going to do whatever I can to help these people." Master Windu answered.

"Perhaps we could send you Republic reinforcements instead." Palpatine suggested.

"There are no reinforcements available, Chancellor." Admiral Yularen informed him.

"We can't win without Syndulla's help." Windu told them and he was ultimately right. Palpatine agreed with Windu's plan but Senator Taa was less than optimistic. Master Windu was going to find the rebels with the help of Lightning Squadron. On their AR-RT's they'd be able to find him and make it back in a hurry. "Padawan, you will remain here with the rest of our forces. Continue to the capital but don't engage. Just set up a perimeter and wait for my return."

"Yes, master." Will bowed his head in response. Master Windu wasn't someone he felt like disagreeing with and doing so during a war was probably a bad idea. "I hope you find Cham Syndulla."

Windu climbed onto his walker and powered it up. "Finding him will not be the issues, Padawan. Likely getting him to help will be. May the Force be with you."

"May the force with you, Master." Will replied as Windu and Lightning Squadron left.

"You think they'll find the rebels in time, Commander?" Waxer wondered.

"I'm hopeful, Waxer." He replied. "Come on. We've still got some ground to cover."

Will led the convoy on their path to the capital city. Going as fast as the walkers moved is what was taking so long but hopefully by the time they got there, Master Windu would be waiting for them with Cham Syndulla's rebels. The convoy continued to march until they reached the outskirts of a Twi'lek village. By that time, it was dark and it's where Kal Skirata, Omega Squad, and BD-8 piloted the Tempest to meet them after assisting Master Kenobi in the south.

BD-8 rejoined Will who met with Commander Pond in the lead walker. "Commander Pond. Have our scouts reported in from the village up ahead?"

"Yes, commander. The enemy's pulled out, sir. Friendlies are all that's left, mostly women and children." Commander Pond replied.

"The Tempest just arrived and is stock with food. We can spare plenty for the Twi'leks. And make sure the men are getting interval rests in the walkers. We'll want them rested and ready when we reach Lessu." Will told him.

"Yes, sir."

"Sir, enemy ships are entering our sector." A clone reported from their scanners. Droid Hyena bombers flew by and bombed the village before flying away.

"Damage report!" Pond shouted.

"There's no technical damage, sir. It didn't hit us. They bombed the village."

Pond and Will got out of the walker to see the Twi'lek village in ruins and the buildings on fire. BD-8 let out a sad whine and many of the clones bowed their heads in respect. Will clenched his fist in anger and wanting nothing more than to punch a hole through Wat Tambor's head. "Pond, get men down there with medics and help the survivors. And someone get me General Windu."

With Master Windu…

Master Windu did find Cham Syndulla and his rebels hiding out in the desert. Even though Master Windu came offering the hand of peace, Cham was hesitant to take it. After all, the Republic and the Jedi left Ryloth under Separatist rule for over a year and he was hesitant on what they wanted. Still, custom dictated that they provide shelter and aid and they did to Master Windu and his men. They had some dinner and some Twi'leks were performing for a little entertainment.

"I hope you don't mind this. A little distraction goes far to ease the burden of the war on my men." Cham pointed out.

"You have provided well for your men. All your people. So, why won't you help me free them from this occupation?" Windu wondered.

"I don't trust Senator Taa, his plans for our world after the war." Cham replied.

"The Republic will help you rebuild. We won't abandon you." Windu assured him.

"Your troops will stay for security?" Cham asked.

"For a while, to keep the peace."

"Another armed occupation is not a free Ryloth. How long before I am fighting you, Master Jedi?" Cham pointed out when Windu's commlink went off. He answered and saw it was Will.

"What is it, Padawan?"

"Master Windu…the droid have begun a firebombing campaign. Several villages in our sector have been destroyed, sir. I had Commander Ponds and the men tend to the survivors. I'm having Kal Skirata, Omega Squad, and BD-8 fly the Tempest and join Master Skywalker in stopping the bombers. I'll keep you updated as the situation unfolds." Will reported before the communication line was shut off.

All the Twil'leks got quiet when they heard the news and Windu looked at Cham to see him grappling with what he just learned. Seeing how the longer he waited and the more drawn out this war was, the more his people would suffer. For them…he could amend his stance. "Make the arrangements. I will speak to Senator Taa."

Windu contacted Coruscant and managed to get Senator Orn Free Taa a communication line with Cham Syndulla. There was some tension in the beginning but after seeing what lengths the Separatists would go to, to make the Republic suffer for their offensive they managed to come to an agreement. After agreeing that the Republic wouldn't occupy Ryloth after the Separatists were driven off world, Cham and his freedom fighters joined the fight and Cham promised he wouldn't try to seize power.

Will and the rest of the clone forces set up on a hill overlooking the capital City of Lessu and the plasma bridge that was their only way in. Will had the walkers set up in a firing line with clear line of sight on the city but Wat Tambor proved to be merciless and put the innocent Twi'leks outside the city to act as shields. The Republic wouldn't dare attack with innocent civilians in the way.

He was able to get a clear sight of everything his electro-binoculars. Droids were herding the Twi'leks into the small encampments outside the city and they all looked to be in dire condition.

"The clankers are gonna pay for this." Hevy stated.

"A part of me wishes I could be in the Tempest right now shooting down bombers…but I want to see Tambor's face and knock a few screws loose before this is over." Will commented.

"Amen to that." Fives commented when they saw XR come back. Echo connected to the Probe droid and downloaded valuable intel just as Master Windu and Cham Syndulla arrived.

"What's the situation, Padawan?" Windu asked.

"We've been monitoring the city and shuttles keep leaving the city in intervals. Echo's scans show that they're filled with items Tambor's stolen from the planet. He's still in the city from what we can tell but we've got a new situation." Will handed him the binoculars so he could see.

"How are we going to attack with my people so close?" Syndulla asked.

"Your people will never be in danger if our walkers can cross the bridge into the city. Key is getting control of that bridge." Windu stated.

"There might be a chance, General Windu. According to XR, Tambor is still waiting for two shipments of goods that haven't arrived in the city." Echo adjusted his scanner and looked to the east where they saw the two transports on the ridge. "And they're right there."

"You think we can use them to get across the bridge?" Windu wondered.

"It's risky. They're usually scanned when crossing but it might get you close enough." Echo suggested.

"All right, then that's our way in. When I get control of the bridge, you must start the attack." Windu told them before he left to intercept the convoy with two recon clones.

"Fives, get Ghost Company ready. We're gonna have to move fast. Watch your shots and keep an eye out for the civilians." Will told them and they nodded.

Fives organized Ghost Company, Pond got his battalion ready and Cham and his men mounted their war beasts. Will got out his Solarboard and deployed the sail to charge the battery. The second it was a hundred percent then he was moving in. Will moved the walkers and the army into view to act as a sort of distraction just as the plasma bridge was activated and the treasure convoy made it across. About halfway across, two battle droids walked by with scanners and while the first one was clean the second one wasn't. The second Master Windu and the clones were found, Lightning Squadron and the tanks opened fire to draw their attention and take out the droid escorts.

Will hit the accelerator on his board and sped down the hill as fast as he could, getting low to cut down on wind resistance. When he was close, he hit the button with his foot which retracted the sail and activated the afterburner so his speed shot up as he neared the plasma bridge projector. He sailed off it and jumped the gap to the city. Master Windu force pushed his two clones across and he quickly jumped from cargo transport to droid hover turret before leaping into the air. Will fired his cable as he cross the gap and it wrapped around Windu's arm so he was dragged along with him as the two landed on the other side. Windu rolled from his impact and Will jumped from his board as a squad of battle droids came at them through the city's main gate.

The Jedi and Padawan activated their sabers and deflected blaster fire. "We'll hold them off. Get that bridge back up!" Windu ordered.

"Sir, yes sir!" The clones rushed forward as Will and Windu cut their way through the battle droids and drew their attention. This let the clones quickly rush up the stairs of the city's walls to reactivate the plasma bridge for their forces.

Will was right by Master Windu's side, using his form-3 training to deflect and block blaster fire. Even though he had some training in the Shien variant of form-5, his form-3 was far superior. Windu blocked blaster bolts before cutting through two droids and then rushing to his left to cut through a third. Will blocked and deflected blaster fire before flipping forward and sending a force wave through the ground that knocked back several droids. He resumed his blocking stance and moved to the right where he slid the side and kicked a droid to the ground and cut it in half before doing a butterfly flip and deflecting a blaster bolt right into the face plate of a super battle droid. A group of destroyer droids rolled up to the main gate only for Mace Windu to force push them back. When an AAT-1 hover tank appeared, Will fired his wrist rocket, and destroyed the cockpit.

Cham Syndulla and the clone forces crossed the bridge and stormed into the city. Cham rode up on his Blerg and fired his blaster at two droids. "You handle these droids. We'll go find Wat Tambor." Windu said as he and Will continued into the city.

Cham's men took down the droids with their Blergs getting a few kills in while the clones and their walkers took down the incoming tank and secured the Twi'lek civilians. Wat Tambor entered Lessu's shipyard with two super battle droids when he saw his ship being flown away with the Tactical Droid inside. He wasted his multiple opportunities to evacuate because his greed was too much and was now stuck.

Will and Windu rushed through the shipyard, blocking blaster fire as they did. Windu cut one of the droids in half vertically before cutting it again horizontally while Will just slid forward on his knees and sliced its legs out from under it before stabbing it through the back. He then pointed his saber at Tambor and inched it close enough that if the Techno Union leader sneezed, he'd cut himself.

"Give me one good reason, Tambor and you're done." Will warned him.

"Surrender." Windu told him.

"General Windu, perhaps we can come to a compromise." Tambor suggested.

"Not when I hold all the cards." Windu pointed out.

"It appears a surrender is unnecessary. We will all perish for the glory of the Separatist Alliance." Tambor said, with his ace up his sleeve being the hyena bombers about to make their bombing run. Only they were blasted out of the sky by two Jedi Starfighters and a Corellian freighter.

"Whoa, that was close, Master." Ahsoka said to him.

"Isn't it always, Snips?" Anakin replied.

BD-8 was in the cockpit with Kal Skirata and the other members of Omega squad, cheering and dancing around. "Yeah, that was pretty good."

With Tambor's bombers destroyed, the clone forces and Cham Syndulla's men arrived to surround the leader of the Techno Union. "Looks like we still hold all the cards." Will pointed out.

"What are your terms for surrender?" Tambo asked Syndulla.

"They're unconditional." Cham told him.

"Agreed." Tambor replied, bowing his head in shame.

"I thank you, Master Jedi, and you too Padawan. Today, all of Ryloth thanks you." Cham said to the both of them.

"You've earned your freedom, General. All of you." Windu said to them.

Tambor was taken into custody, the remaining droids were destroyed and the Twi'leks were freed. Senator Orn Free Taa returned home to be with his people as they and the clones celebrated a big win against the Separatists. They freed Ryloth and its people. It was a sign of things to come. While the Separatists outnumbered the Republic, as long as there were competent Jedi Generals leading the charge things would work out in their favor. Hopefully, that would remain true as the war continued.

A week later…

Negotiator Mid-Rim Territory Space

While the battle of Ryloth was a nice victory for the senate and the Republic, the war was far from over. The battle of Atraken just ended in the Outer Rim territory. The Doonium rich planet was taken by the Separatists and the Republic launched a year-long counter offensive called Operation Katabatic. Like with Ryloth, the Separatists went with the scorched earth policy, releasing a biochemical plague in the planet's water supply, killing 90% of the civilian population. The Republic Forces were mainly unscathed from the biochemical attack but it did begin to have a moral effect on the war.

With the battle of Atraken over, the Republic began to plan an invasion of another Outer Rim world, Felucia. Plans were still being worked out but the war kept going on. Obi-wan, Will and 212st were deployed to help other Jedi Generals and they just got back from helping Master Mundi with an escort mission. Will was working on some repairs and maintenance on the Tempest with BD-8 when he got a call from Coruscant. BD-8 answered and cleared up the transmission so they saw Qi'ra appear in the holovid.

"Hey, Qi'ra. I wasn't expecting you to call." Will replied, standing on a stool to fix a loose wire in a circuit board in the ceiling. "Sorry, I haven't kept in touch the past few weeks. Things have been kind of crazy."

"It's fine, Will. I called you because it's important. How quickly can you get to Coruscant?" Qi'ra asked.

"Uh, depends on if I can clear it with my master. Qi'ra what's wrong?" He wondered.

"One of Qibbu's smugglers brought something in. Found it in some rubble in the Outer Rim. Thankfully, he's not the smartest person in the galaxy because if he found out what it was, wouldn't have parted with it so easily." Qi'ra commented. "I think you should see this."

That's when Will noticed Qi'ra seemed worried like something unnerved her. "Qi'ra, are you all right?"

"Just get here to Coruscant as fast as you can and find me. You'll understand when you see me." Qi'ra told him.

On Coruscant

"Ok. I'll try and get there as soon as I can." Will replied before hanging up. Qi'ra was inside her office at Qibbu's establishment and Will right that she was upset. Something unnerved her and it was the reason she called him. She didn't know any Jedi besides Will and whatever the smuggler found was definitely Jedi related or she was an idiot. And Qi'ra was not an idiot.

And the item that caused Qi'ra such uneasiness? A Holocron. But it wasn't a typical Jedi holocron as those were blue and square shaped. It wasn't even a red triangular Sith Holocron no, this one was a special dodecahedron holocron…and it was colored purple. Something about it unnerved Qi'ra yet also was able to provide a sense of comfort and stability. Whatever the holocron contained and whoever it belonged to…she didn't want to risk any possible payday over how it made her felt and the only one she could trust is Will. Hopefully, he could take it off her hands.

And the second he did, he'd get an interesting path to his future.

End of Chapter 5.

1). Jim Hawkin's Solar Sail board from Treasure Planet.

Hoped you guys liked chapter 5. Happy STAR WARS Day. We covered the Blue Shadow Virus and the Liberation of Ryloth in one chapter so yeah. The second year of the clone war has started and things are starting to pick up. Will's gotten to stretch his skills and lead more clones into battle. To more battles he goes and more experience he gets and the more he progresses.

Next chapter, Will heads to Coruscant to meet Qi'ra and she hands him the holocron. One little device is going to open up a whole new world of possibilities and just in time as someone orchestrates a heist at the Jedi Temple. Time to meet the galaxy's greatest bounty hunter. Until next time.

We've gotten some more progression with Will interesting father situation. He's learned the truth and it's gonna affect him going forward through the clone wars. A secret like that is bound to come out sooner or later and it's gonna have ripple effects. We've also gotten to see more of him training and expanding his skills along with his tinkering abilities. The Solarboard came from Treasure Planet and seemed like a cool idea to add. Plus, it would make getting around certain battlefields much easier. And with the Tempest's upgrades, he'll be open to more stealth and infiltration type missions which will be awesome so stay tuned.

My next updates will be Omniverse-Earth38 and the Perfect One for this month for sure. I might also try to get another chapter for Multiverse if I can squeeze it out but Omniverse and Perfect One are for sure next. Until next time, everyone stay safe, stay healthy, and stay strong.
