"What's new?" Freya asked through the other side of the phone.

"Just some kids that got burned from their habits. I do hope they get better," Hope said.

"How's school?"

"I am actually in school right now," Hope said leaning against a tree.

"I can call another-,"

"No no no! I'm sorry, it's just, I already miss you guys," Hope said. "How's my dad?"

"Paranoid as always. But this time it's about you. No worries, we have him under control. We don't need to worry, or do we?"

"No, you don't. I just want to ask if you could help me with a cloaking spell?" Hope asked.

"Of course, how's tonight?"

Hope was about to say yes when she remembers the other things she has to do. "That'll be great but..."

"Ahh, right full moon," Freya said. "It's ok, I'll think I can manage even if you are in a remote location."

"Is that my favorite niece?" Hope heard.

"Hello to you too," Freya said.

"Uncle Kol?" Hope asked into the phone. "I thought you'd be helping aunt Davina."

"Oh I was, but then I saw my lovely sister on the phone and thought why not drop in?"

"Yes and now that you said hello you will go our brother," Freya said directing that to Kol.

"Alright then, talk to you later darling," Kol said and then Hope assumed Freya got back the phone.

"Sorry about that," Freya said.

"No worries," Hope said.

"Well then, in that case, I'll start on the cloaking spell, I'm sure you have people to get back to."

"Just a couple," Hope said looking back at the table.

"I'll tell the rest you said Hello. Goodbye Hope."

"Bye aunt Freya," Hope said and the call ended. She smiled and put her phone back in her pocket and sat down back on the table with the rest.

"Who was that?" Stiles asked.

"Just my aunt and my uncle. They didn't know I had started school and decided to check up on me," Hope said simply.

"You have a protective family, don't you?" Isaac asked.

"You have no idea," Hope said wiping some hair that got in her face because of the wind

"Dragon," The girl breathed out before passing out on the bed again.

"Hey, Hey!" Hayley almost yelled. "What about a dragon?!" The girl just groaned. As her eyes barely opened. "Tell me what you saw," Hayley asked making eye contact for compulsion.

"We were at the bonfire party and snuck out to the woods. We were having fun when we heard something. We had thought it was an animal, but it wasn't..." The girl said.

The girl was about to say something more when Hayley heard the elevator door open. She looked back at the door. "Forget you ever saw me here and forget whatever attacked you, you were in an accident you caused." Hayley compelled and snuck back in the other room before the nurse had opened the door, 'And now for that boy.' Hayley thought and sped until she found the other boy that was burned. He said almost the same thing only he confirmed what the girl said.

"It looked like to be a dragon, it burned us and we ran for the river, we barely made it back," He said and Hayley couldn't have this news spreading so she compelled him the same as the girl. She garbed her blood bags and was on her way out.

She sat in her car and sighed. Dragons can't exist. She told herself. But even if the kids were just imagining it, how would they imagine the same thing? Hayley groaned and started up the car and drove home.

She should've expected something to happen. In her experience, nothing is normal. Whether it was just normal people, or supernatural.

But dragons don't exist.

Hope go to know the people in the friend group a bit more. It was nice, she was still hesitant cause this was just supposed to just be a temporary move. So she couldn't afford to get attach even if these people were nicer to her than anyone else outside the family was. Scott kept his promise and showed her the library and then left with the rest of his friends. There weren't many people in the library. Maybe because it was only the first week of school, either way, Hope didn't care, this was her free period and she wanted some time alone, away from big, loud crowds since it could trigger her wolf state early. The school didn't have any cameras, only on the outside of the school pointing to the streets so, she was in the clear. She made sure that no one was in this area before undoing her bracelet and concentrated on closing her eyes picturing what she wants to find. She was in the fantasy section cause that's what she's looking for should be there. What she didn't expect was for a book to fall from on top of the bookshelf behind her. She opened her eyes and picked up the book. The Bestiary. The book was dusty and it was lying flat on top of the bookshelf as if it had been forgotten and sat there for some years. Her mom ha called her to see if there were any books like this about the supernatural, she didn't explain why.

She dusted off the cover of the book and decided to flip through it a bit. But sometimes supernatural and actual myths get mixed up, like this page, for example, a Kanima? Really?

Anyways, she made her way to check out and borrowed the book before putting it in her bag as the bell rang and it was time for her last period of the day.

She got in the car as soon as Hayley pulled up at the end of school and left out of school property.

"How was your day?" Hayley asked though Hope could see she was still tense.

"It was actually good, I met people who were actually nice," Hope said. "What's wrong?"

"Uh, nothing, nothing wrong."

"You got the mom face that says otherwise," Hope said. "Can you tell me?"

"We might have to move."

"What? Why? We just got settled in and aunt Freya is doing the cloaking spell. If we move any farther she might not be to help."

"I'll explain in the house where there aren't any ears," Hayley said and started to speed a bit. She parked in the driveway and entered their house where they sat in the living room in a moment of silence as Hope handed her the book and Hayley went through the pages furiously.

"Are you ever going to explain?" Hope asked her mom who's face was still going through the book.

"The kids at the hospital, they weren't in an accident. They didn't cause the burn. When I was at the hospital they both claim they were attacked by a dragon. I compelled them to tell me and that's what they said, I erased their memories of the attack as well as me being there."

"But dragons don't exist," Hope said, her voice was surprisingly calmer than she expected.

"That's what I'm thinking," Hayley said before coming to a stop on a page. "So it could be a Pyromancer."

Hope got the book back from her mom. "A fire-breathing witch."

"And if a witch found us, it's not safe here," Hayley said standing up.

"Wait, mom!" Hope said standing up with her. "I know I was giving you a hard time moving here, but If we go now it would look suspicious. Two new people come into town and others got burned and we leave right after. Plus wouldn't it give our other enemies a head-up after we leave this town for no reason? And it's a full moon, I can shift in the car," Hope tried to reason with her. Hayley thought for a moment before sighing.

"Ok, ok fine, we'll stay. But I have to get out of the house." Hayley said.

"For what?"

"To go find that witch," Hayley said. "Go hang out with some of your friends. It could take a while, I'll be back before the full moon."

"I could help!"

"Hope, listen to me," Hayley said and kissed Hope's forehead before exiting the house. Hope sighed. But remember she did have a project due. She walked out of the house after locking it and went to the address Scott gave her.

Her muscles were aching now and there was temptation but she was able to resist it, 'Control,' She told herself, 'Control yourself.' She hadn't even realized that she reached her destination until she looked up. 'Guess this is the place,' She thought as she walked up to the porch.

She rang the doorbell and a woman that looked to be about in her early forties.

"Hi, I don't know you do I?" She asked.

"Uh no, I moved to town about a week ago. I'm new. I came here because I'm partners with Scott for a project." Hope explained.

"Please come in," The woman said and stepped aside for Hope, "Scott you have another friend over!" She said and guided Hope to the kitchen. "Do you like tea?"

"Yeah actually, I find it relaxing."

The woman then placed a cup of tea in front of her. "Where are my manners, I'm Melissa McCall."

"I'm Hope Marshall," I said accepting the tea. When she took a sip, it tasted weird, like it expired. "What is in this?" Hope asked.

"Mmm? Oh, just a natural plant. Vervain I think it's called. It has grown here for a while." Melissa McCall said. Hope had to keep her eyes from widening. 'Could be just a coincidence.' She thought, 'But...' "Tardus pulsatio" Hope muttered.

"What?" Melissa asked.

"Thanks for the tea I said."

"You're welcome," She said smiling warmly. The spell Hope had cast was to control her heartbeat in case any vampires were near. She heard two pairs of footsteps coming from the stairs and saw it was Scott and Isaac.

"Oh hey Hope," Isaac said greeting her as he and Scott approached the kitchen. Hope gave a small wave.

They had gotten started on the project while Isaac was studying in the corner. Hope just learned they were living with each other.

"We should leave it to dry for tonight and put the chemicals in tomorrow at school," Hope said as she wiped her hands with a towel. She had to bite back a wince as she felt one of her minor bones break, 'It's starting' She thought.

"Shouldn't we test it now?" Scott asked.

Hope shook her head, "As I said it still needs to dry, trust me it'll work." Hope said. It was one of the advantages of being a witch, she knew her ingredients.

"Boys the foods ready!" Melissa called and came into the room. "You're welcome to stay Hope."

Hope had to bite back another wince as another bone broke. "No, it's ok Ms. McCall. I promised my mom to be home, she's also made dinner."

"That's ok. Another time then?"

Hope nodded. "Yeah, I should be getting home," She said as she stood up and grabbed her stuff. "Let it dry."

"Ok, fine," Scott said.

"I'll see myself out," Hope said and walked downstairs. She groaned as she felt her heel break. She went outside and closed the door of the house and groaned again as her hand started to break. She looked up at the night sky and saw the full moon almost at its peak. But she had to walk a few blocks without seeming suspicious before she started running home.

She rushed into her house and called out, "Mom!" No response. She winced arm broke. 'I thought she'd be here.' "Mom!" She tried again. No, respond.

'Scew this.' She thought, she didn't have time, she only had time to get a towel and sped outside and didn't stop until she was deep into the forest. She groaned again as she fell onto her knees as her back started to shift as well. Her blue eyes glowed even more in the moonlight. She didn't try and stop it, that'll only delay and make it more painful. She relaxed and let it take her up to the point it didn't hurt and she was a silver wolf. She only had a piece of her mind intact during full moons. Meaning if she came across something she would probably let her wolf side take over.

*A few minutes before*

Hayley had been searching almost all of Beacon Hills for the damn witch. If she and her daughter were going to stay here then she was going to make it a safe space. So that meant hunting down the witch to see if she was here to harm them.

Hayley was about to call it a day since she needed to be with her daughter right now when she heard a twig snap behind her. She turned around quickly and was glad she was just facing an African American woman. But the women looked to be in shock. Her hair was a mess, she had dark smudges on her white dress and she smelled like smoke.

"Are you ok?" Hayley asked approaching the woman she looked at Hayley confused and didn't respond. "Hey, I'm going to get you help, ok?"

The women didn't respond and saw Hayley's watch that Elijah gave her for her birthday. Hayley was about to say something when the woman snatched her watch. "Hey! That's mine."

The woman didn't say anything again and just turned away. Hayley grabbed her wrist and made her turn around but the women's eyes turned orange and smoke started coming out of her mouth. Hayley backed up as she barely dodged the fire that was breathed at her.

"Well then, you're the witch," Hayley said. "Mind telling me what you're doing here?" As usual, the women didn't respond. Hayley sped up to her and grabbed her by the throat. "Tell me"

The witch wasn't saying anything and before Hayley was about to take her, the witch pushed her back at incredible strength that was impossible and Hayley sped back and grabbed a piece of wood on the ground and stuck it throw the witch's chest. She went stiff and Hayley pulled out the piece of wood as the witch fell to the floor.

"Witches," Hayley muttered. She looked up and saw the moon was almost at its peak. She didn't have time to bury the witch.

She sped off towards the direction of her house but tripped over something. She looked down and it was a tail? 'What?' She thought as she got up. It started moving, she looked up and saw the women's skin stretching into a, monster.

"Shit," Hayley said.

What was standing in front of her, was indeed a dragon.

This time she wasn't able to speed away and it roared its fire. It had caught Hayley off guard. She yelled in agony as the fire burned her. It was worse than any pain she could imagine. She was running and fell into a lake. She gasped for air as she came up to the surface already feeling her vampire healing go to work. She opened her eyes and was greeted with the sight of a dragon taking off in flight as it soared.

'What the hell is happening?'

Before her brain could go into overload on how dragons were here her she heard a howl in a distance and a scream.

"Hope."
