David had always told Sara that she and the legends were welcome anytime, so when she and the legends arrived Mona ran ahead of the others, running up to the door of Mount Carmel and walking right in.
Mona's a lot like a twelve year old sometimes. She gets excited easily. She also still has a lot to learn. She's new to the legends - well newish. She joined the team of legends two years ago.
"Mona, wait!" Behrad called as he chased after Mona.
Sara just shook her head and laughed watching the two 'kids'. Behrad was the newest to the legends team, having joined only last year.
Entering Mount Carmel, Sara saw that Behrad had been greeted by the now thirteen year old Joseph Martinez and Mona was already sitting on the floor with seven year old Hollywood in the front playroom to the right. They were playing with Barbies. Joseph and Behrad had raced off to the gymnasium to do some boxing.
David was watching them, smirking as he shook his head. Walking towards Sara with his arms stretched open, he embraced her in a hug and she hugged him back.
"We've missed you, Sara."
"It's good to be back." She told him
"You know, you could always stay."
Sara nodded, "Yeah, but then who would take care of my kids."
She laughed and David did too.
"So where's the birthday girl?" Sara asked as she was bombarded by a hug from six year old Startle Summers.
"Sara!" Startle exclaimed, "I missed you."
"Hey kiddo." Sara said, hugging the little girl back, "I missed you too."
"Come on, Sara. Treasure and I are playing upstairs with Chanel and Nora."
David gave a nod as he mouthed, "Go ahead."
It's not that Sara needed David's permission, but she wanted to be polite. She didn't just want to take off in the middle of their conversation.
"Alright, Startle. I'm coming."
With Sara and Startle heading upstairs, David found himself standing alone in the hallway until he saw Nate and Zari coming up the walkway through his still open front door.
"Hey David." Nate uttered as he and Zari stepped inside.
David hugged them both, "Thank you for coming."
"Are you kidding?" Zari asked rhetorically, "We wouldn't miss T's birthday for anything in the world."
"So where are Mick and John?" David wondered
"Oh Mick said he had to run an errand, and John should be here any minute." Nate explained
David hummed, his eyes widened as John teleported right in front of him. Zari and Nate noticed that it wasn't just John that appeared though. It seemed that he had forgotten something.
Zari cleared her throat, "Um John, did you forget to leave something in your apartment?"
John reached his hand to his back pocket, feeling something in it and pulling it out. Zari didn't even have time to protest, before he pulled it out in front of him.
"Oh..that's where this was." John uttered, staring at the foot that was now in his hand, "I've been looking for this everywhere."
David looked really concerned as Nate was just furrowing his eyebrows, and Zari was rolling her eyes and shaking her head.
"Why did you have a foot in your back pocket?" David asked
"Yeah." Nate chimed in, "Didn't you use it to save Sara from the death totem six years ago?"
John glanced at David, giving a shrug of his shoulders, "Never know when I might need it." Then he turned around and pointed the foot at Nate, "I'll have you know that this is the other one."
Zari made a disgusted face, "John, just put it away."
"Fine." John huffed
John made the foot disappear before walking passed David, further into Mount Carmel and Nate followed after him.
Zari shook her head, "I apologise on behalf of John. He's...he doesn't really represent us. He's kind of strange."
David waved it off, "Oh it's alright, Z. People used to think that I was strange."
"Well there's strange, and then there's John Constantine strange. You never quite know what to expect with him. We've tried to keep him under control when we've visited in the past." Zari explained, "Sara's a little better at it then I am."
"It's alright." He repeated, "Zari, it's totally fine."
Zari just nodded.
Panning over to Mona and Hollywood playing with Barbies in the front playroom.
"That girl's name is Patience." Hollywood said pointing to the blonde Barbie doll that Mona was holding, "And mine, her name is Grace. Patience and Grace are both married to Ken. And they both had one kid with him."
The 'Grace' Barbie doll is a brunette.
Mona nodded, "Okay. Do Patience and Grace get along?"
"Yeah. They're sisters."
"Oh okay."
Hollywood tapped her doll's feet on the floor of the Barbie house, "Let's play now." She changed her voice when she talked as 'Grace', "Patience, Patience."
"Yes?" Mona spoke, using a different voice as she acted the Barbie dubbed to be 'Patience'.
"We have an urgent problem." 'Grace' uttered
'Patience' sounded worried, "What is it?"
"Ken got shot!" 'Grace' exclaimed
'Patience' paused briefly, "Oh no! Is he gonna be okay? We should take him to the hospital."
"No. He'll be fine. He's the son of God." 'Grace' replied
Zari had left David to go find Crystal, but he stayed standing in the doorframe of the front playroom watching Mona play with his daughter Hollywood. He just smiled, proudly.
Meanwhile in the gymnasium with Behrad and Joseph, they were having a sparring match. Joseph won.
"Wow, J. You've gotten so much better in just a few months." Behrad complimented
Behrad took a seat to catch his breath and get a bit of his water. On the last visit, he had still been able to beat Joseph in a sparring match.
"Thanks B." Joseph replied, "I've been practicing. I want to be a professional boxer. Dad's been letting me compete in competitions. I usually win too."
Behrad nodded, "Yeah. I bet."
"Wanna go again?"
"Sure." Behrad agreed, "Just give me a minute."
"What are you...tired?" Joseph teased, jokingly, "You ready to quit, old man?"
Behrad jumped up ready to go again, "Who you calling old, little man?"
He picked up Joseph and threw him over his shoulder as he started tickling the thirteen year old.
Joseph laughed and shrieked, "Behrad, put me down. Put me down. Behrad!"
Those were the words that Joseph was trying to say, but it didn't sound like that. He was struggling to talk because he was laughing.
"What was that, J? I can't understand you." Behrad uttered as he continued tickling the teen.
Joseph was laughing so hard that he couldn't even talk anymore. He just couldn't stop laughing.
Upstairs with Sara and Nora, they were having a tea party with Chanel, Startle and Treasure.
"Happy birthday, Trea." Sara told the almost five year old.
Treasure glared at Sara, "My birthday is tomorrow." She was very literal.
Nora smiled as she gently nudged Sara, "Yeah, Sara. You really should know that."
"Okay. Well Trea, are you excited for your birthday tomorrow?" Sara asked
Treasure nodded vigorously, "Yes!"
"And Startle, are you being good to your sister?"
"Yes. Of course, Sara. I always am."
Sara smiled, "That's good."
Nora held up her tea cup, speaking in her best British accent, "Cha-Cha, can I get a little bit more tea please?"
"Why yes, of course, Nor." Chanel replied, trying to mimic the accent that Nora was putting on.
Chanel picked up the tea kettle and poured some imaginary tea into the cup.
"Would you like some more tea also?" Chanel asked as she turned her focus towards Sara.
"Oh, sure." Sara agreed
Chanel walked over to Sara and poured some more 'tea' into the tea cup, "There you go."
"Thank you." Sara replied gratefully
The tea may have been imaginary, but they had real biscuits that Kathy had made. It didn't go unnoticed by Sara that Nora had scarfed down two biscuits since she had sat down.
"You're eating a lot of biscuits, Nora." Treasure pointed out as she saw Nora reaching to take another one, "That's your fifth one."
"Oh...thank you for keeping track, Tre. I didn't realise." Nora said, before stuffing the biscuit into her mouth.
Nora was being sarcastic, but she didn't use a sarcastic tone.
Sara just stared at Nora strangely for a moment. Then she raised her eyebrows, "Oh...Nora." She was smiling.
"Shh. Ray doesn't know yet. I'm gonna tell him at the wedding."
Sara hugged Nora, "He'll be so happy."
The three little girls were just staring at the adults with confused glares on their faces.
"What's going on?" Startle asked
Sara turned to face the kids, leaning in close and whispering, "Nora's pregnant. She's gonna be a mommy."
Chanel's mouth dropped open and then she started to dance and jump with excitement, "Nora's having a baby! Oh!"
"That's like Mommy Rachel and Mama Charlie." Treasure uttered
Sara did a double take, "Wait, what? Charlie? My Charlie?"
Startle nodded, "Yeah. Mama Charlie's having Daddy's baby."
Sara looked at Nora, "Did you know about this?"
Nora shook her head, "No. I'm just as shocked as you are."
"Charlie." Sara mumbled, "Huh."
Hope you enjoyed. Leave a comment if you liked it.
What do you think Mick is up to?
