"Well?"

"W-well...what?"

Kevin giggled, rolling his eyes, waving animatedly causing a flourish of shimmery pink and violet shimmers to go flying.

"Oh come on Si don't leave me hanging, tell me everything! I know you're dying to talk about it. Practically on cloud 9. How was the dat-well I don't need to ask that. You were out all night and you came home practically walking on air and with the truth about your passion in life. Pretty clear it was one for the books.

So tell me about this Raphael? What's he do, what's he like, is he cute? Oh wait-most obvious jumping off point given well this..." He chuckled giving a theatrical little wave, shimmers dancing about his hands.

"What type of Non-human is he?"

Simon swallowed, shifting, nervously scratching at the back of his neck, glancing away slightly.

"Um...i-it...uh..."

Kevin blinked head tilting, a bit of a confused look flickering over his cutely pointed features.

"Si? What's wro-oh..." He gasped softly, bright doe eyes widening, shifting back hesitantly.

"Y-you're worried...scared...Your whole mood is all shifted and near panicked...what-I-sorry Si I didn't mean to scare you." He swallowed, shifting back, purposefully putting a bit of space between them.

Simon startled, shaking his head.

"No Kev- I'm not scared-"

"Yeah you ar-"

"I'm not...J-just surprised, it never occurred to me that y-"

Kevin tilted his head, those bright glittering pink eyes glimmering violet, little fawn like ears twitching curiously.

"Are you upset I didn't tell you? I wanted to! I really, really did! I j-"

Simon shook his head.

"No Kev-it's nothing like that. I'm not mad."

Kevin's head tilted the other way, cute ears twitching again, gaze shifting over him curiously.

"No you're not...you're scared."

"I'm n-"

Kevin set forward, nodding animatedly, holding up a finger.

"Yes you are...you're scared...and now you're lying to me. Why are you lying to me? You never lie to me." He swallowed, shifting, reaching up brushing a few wild, wayward violet pink curls away from his face.

"I-is it because of this? I-I mean I know it's a big difference and I know it was a huge secret to keep from you like I did. I know that could make it hard to trust someone but I swear that's the only thing I've ever lied to you about.

I'm still me-j-just a kinda different version.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I really did want to- I just never quite knew how. I really didn't mean to scare you I was just so happy that you knew...that I could be honest with you-really honest...I-j-Sorry Si..." He kind of deflated, shifting back more on the couch, till he's nearly against the arm of the couch, practically scrunching down, trying to seem smaller, less threatening...poor guy looked nearly on the verge of tears.

That's all it took to start Simon out of his panic. He swallowed, shaking his head, moving across the couch, settling right next to him, reaching over, catching his hand, squeezing. Kevin looked up, bright eyes wide and concerned, catching Simon's worriedly.

Simon flashed a soft, reassuring smile, shaking his head, letting go of his hand, slipping his arm around his shoulders, squeezing.

"Kev- no...It's nothing like that- I swear it's not. You're you...you're my best friend. Have been since we were like twelve.

It's nothing with you. I'm not scared-It just really threw me. Raphael did tell me that between ten and twenty percent of our population is made up of nonhumans and I got that. I knew it likely meant I knew some...maybe even a lot of them. It just didn't occur to me I might actually be living with one-that's all."

Kevin gave a soft laugh, nodding, wrapping his arms around him, hugging him tight.

"O-okay...good...thank god...I really hated the idea I scared you."

Simon laughed, hugging him back, shaking his head, pulling back, smiling brightly.

"Dude, Kev? Come on. I could never be afraid of you. One, you're my best friend in the entire world-er galaxy, quadrant universe or whatever else, and two; Dude? No offense but you're like a sparkly, velvety, candy colored Anime deer-pixie...Not exactly nightmare fuel there."

Kevin giggled, head tilting concedingly.

"Fair point..." He smiled, again squeezing his shoulder before pausing, head tilting, ears twitching curiously.

"Though...you were scared about something...If it wasn't me-"

Simon sighed, shaking his head, shrugging.

"I wasn't sca-"

"Si? I know you were..."

"I wasn't-I know you think you can read me like a book-"

Kevin shrugged.

"Because I can. I read your emotions as easily as I read my own."

He huffed faintly, rolling his eyes.

"Ah Kev you always say that."

"Yeah...Because it's true."

Simon gave a soft laugh, rolling his eyes beginning to wave him off.

"Okay Kev-"

"Si?"

"Hmm?" He asked, head tilting.

Kevin chuckled, brow quirking pointedly, eyes, shimmering violet, giving a fluttering little wave, another swirl of pink/violet shimmers dancing through the air.

"Simon? Alien...When I say I can read you as easily as I can myself I mean it very literally."

"Wha-wait..."He paused, head tilting, hesitantly pointing.

"You're empathic too?"

He laughed softly, brow quirking.

"Too? Oh! So Raph's an-wait..." he trailed off, blinking in surprise.

"The scared thing is coming back...It's linked to Raphael...why are y-"

Simon held up his hand, shifting back a bit.

"Okay Kev? I'm not scared but that is making me a bit uncomfortable. I know reading emotions might not be something you can actively control but I really don't want you purposefully prying into my romantic life...please?"

Kevin blinked in surprise, shifting back, swallowing, giving a slight nod.

"I-y-yeah...of course Si. I wouldn't do that...I wasn't. Just didn't know why you seemed afraid when I asked about him. I'd never pry into something like that- and anything like that I do actively block out. I-I'd never snoop on something like that.

Sorry."

Simon sighed, nodding, relaxing a bit.

"Okay...thank you." He swallowed, flashing a faint smile.

"And I didn't think you would, I just needed to put it out there."

Kevin shrugged, nodding.

"Yeah...no I get it. Even if you think you're on the same page with someone with something like this it's always best to be absolutely sure. But Si I really would never pry into anything like that.

It just kind of worried me that bringing up Raphael seemed to make you uncomfortable.

You had what felt like the best night of your life. I've never felt you that happy or swoony. It felt like that's all you wanted to do when you got home- and after realizing that you being able to see me meant he was a non-human and spilled the beans on like all of it I figured you'd be even happier as you could actually talk about the ENTIRE date, rather than try to figure out how to edit around the alien stuff.

I thought you'd be jumping at the chance to talk about your first meeting with a real live alien...especially when you'd be talking about it with ANOTHER alien.

I just don't understand why that feels more scary to you than exciting."

Simon swallowed, shifting.

"I do want to talk about it I j-wait..." He paused, head tilting.

"Y-you said the whole night I felt all swoony and happy?"

Kevin shrugged, head tilting.

"W-well not ALL night. There was one time when I almost came to check on you- there was a lot of fear and panic. You seemed really scared and like you really thought you were in danger.

I pinged your phone and was on my way up there but then the fear kinda dissipated and then there was excitement and a lot of jumbly things and then you were kind of just bouncing around like crazy- thinking that's when the whole non-human thing came out.

Then there was a lot of amazement and swooning and that's about the time I made sure to tune out so I didn't eavesdrop on anything I shouldn't.

Even so I knew you'd be eager to talk about it...

O-or I thought you would...And you were...

And then you weren't...And scared...

Which is...umm..." he trailed off, head tilting curiously.

"I wasn't s-"

"Si-"

Simon sighed holding his hands up placatingly.

"Okay so I was-kinda...but not scared like scared, scared; just like worried scared. See I wanted to talk to you about the date but I'd assumed I'd only be able to talk to you about the non-non-human parts of the date...w-which I knew would kinda be really hard but I saw how worried Raph was about me talking about those parts and I assured him I could keep his secret. I promised him I would and I just really don't want to betray his trust.

That was the fear you felt.

I just don't want to let his down."

Kevin started faintly.

"Oh! Dude! Now I get it...totally makes sense."

Simon relaxed, nodding, smiling, shrugging, giving a bit of a wave.

"Yeah see Raph's just a really private person and me finding out was a total accident. Almost a really bad accident.

I went to get a drink from the kitchen and got turned around and kind of almost set off a relic from a ship that would have blown up both of us, his house, and like a quarter mile of national forest."

Kevin gasped, giving a shocked laugh, bright anime eyes wide.

"Oh dude...how did you almost set off something like that?"

Simon gave a sheepish look, scratching at the back of his neck.

"Well it kind of triggered when I tried to steal it."

"Simon!"

Simon flailed, groaning.

"I know!"

"You're a federal agent!"

"I know!"

"And you were a g-"

"I know!"

"AND you were on a date!"

"I Kn-"

"And Mags's his-"

"I know Kev-trust me I know. ALL of it. I know. I got it...believe me I got it." Simon huffed, rolling his eyes at himself, rubbing at his face.

"I really can't believe I did that..."

Kevin gave a bright laugh, anime eyes wide and amused, nodding animatedly, violet pink curls bouncing wildly.

"Dude that makes two of us. What on earth made you try to stea-oh...You realized it was alien yeah?"

Simon huffed, nodding, shrugging helplessly.

"Yeah. See apparently Raph's a collector and he has all these cabinets filled with these cool, futuristic things and at first I was all giddy cause I thought they were like movie props and that he was secretly even a bigger scifi nerd than me but then I realized I couldn't place them and then I realized they weren't props they were real and they looked very much used and...yeah...I kinda panicked and tried to take one to show Mags...and...

Yeah..."

Kevin chuckled, nodding, head tilting concedingly.

"Oh man Si...I cannot believe you'd pull that...understandable though." He shook his head.

"Still can't believe you actually tried to rob your date."

Simon gasped.

"I didn't 'rob' him...I was just taking one thing."

"Which is the same thing as robbing and in the process nearly blew you, him, his place and a quarter mile of national forest sky high-all while trying to out him to his best friend-a federal agent who's entire mission in life is to find proof of aliens..." Kevin snorted, brow quirking, nudging his shoulder teasingly.

"Dude you are SO lucky you're cute."

Simon huffed out a faint laugh, rolling his eyes, nudging him back.

"Whatever...anyways yeah- definitely NOT my finest hour."

Kevin laughed, nodding animatedly.

"Uh yeah...no..."he chuckled again, head shaking before pausing, head tilting, ears flicking curiously.

"Can't believe he had something like that just out in the open."

Simon sighed, shrugging.

"Uh yeah...He didn't. It was in a hidden room behind the fireplace usually totally secured. We just showed up unexpectedly and he forgot to set the safeguard. The library wasn't anywhere near where we were, he didn't think there'd be any danger.

I went to get a drink and got turned around and ended up wandering into the library. I kinda stumbled and caught myself on this statue and the whole fireplace swung open and I knew it was a secret room and it was private and I shouldn't snoop...but...well... come on: it was a hidden room behind a fireplace.

How the hell do you just walk away from that?"

Kevin chuckled, head tilting concedingly.

"Again fair point. Only so much self-control you can muster."

Simon huffed, bouncing animatedly, eagerly nodding.

"Exactly! Like I knew I shouldn't but...I mean...come on!"

"Okay yeah understandable."

Simon nodded, giving a flippant little wave.

"Yeah so like I said there's this secret room behind a fireplace filled with totally out of this world Scifi props...only they weren't props and when I figured it out I kind of panicked and tried to take one to show Mags and figure out what was going on...

Only when I picked the thing up it knicked me and I guess It's triggered by blood- and panic and fear which was great to learn as I'm holding it by the way-

And Raph came in and heard it engage and had to drop his camouflage in order to deactivate the device and I saw him and I kind of panicked and then HE kind of panicked because I saw him and I'm a government Agent who's entire job is investigating well...basically you guys and I was very clearly trying to take proof and...yeah...

REALLY not my finest moment."

Kevin laughed, brow rising.

"Oh wow...yeah that'd definitely explain the feelings I was getting from you."

Simon shrugged, head tilting.

"Yeah it was a BIG misstep. So Raph disengaged it and saved my life- and you know his life and his house and the forest- and then we were just kind of there.

He apologized...which I didn't understand- I'm the one who snooped and stole- but he felt bad that he scared me and that I'd been in danger- even if the danger was entirely my own doing. He was really worried about me telling people- especially given my job and because Mags's the closest thing to family he has and he was really worried about him finding out.

I promised him I could keep it a secret. That he could trust me. I swore...I just really like him and want to respect his wishes." He trailed off, giving a faint shrug, glancing up, catching those bright anime eyes, smiling softly.

"So like I said, I'm not afraid exactly. I just really think this with him could be something amazing and the last thing I'd want is to jeopardize it or make him think his trust was in any way misplaced...that's all." Simon couldn't help a bit of a soft laugh, reaching up, tucking a few wayward curls behind his ear, again shrugging, giving a soft, kind of dreamy smile.

"God Kev. He really is the most amazing person I've ever met. And I know there's the Non-human thing and it might kind of seem like it's that but it's not...It's not what he is that I like so much- it's who he is...and who he is is freaking amazing.

He's gorgeous and brave and so far beyond brilliant and he's nerdy and he's an inventor and j-just...oh wow...he's just totally out of this world-"

"Literally." Kevin chirped.

Simon couldn't help a totally beaming smile, nodding.

"Yeah...he really is. In every possible since. I just really don't want to screw this up, you know?"

Kevin smiled gently, nodding, reassuringly squeezing his arm.

"I kinda figured. I've never felt you so giddy about someone. I understand you promised him and I'd never ask you to break a promise, I know how serious you take that trust. Though you know he probably just meant don't talk about it with humans, right?"

Simon snorted, shaking his head.

"Dude: guy's like a really gorgeous, really fashionable, really smart, tech savvy hermit. He lives in a fancy custom designed place surrounded by what looks like the gates of hell that's practically camouflaged into the hillside overlooking the city and backed up into a national forest. I don't think it's just humans he doesn't want me babbling to about him."

Kevin snorted, brow rising.

"Sounds like you went on a date with a supervillian."

Simon shrugged, giving a bit of a wave.

"Retired supervillian."

Kevin blinked.

"Wha-"

Simon laughed, waving him off, flashing a reassuring smile.

"Nothing- it was kind of a running joke with us. When we first showed up he wasn't gonna let us in and I accidently called him a supervillian...and then several other times on purpose.

He was teasing me about it the whole time...It was actually really cute." Simon sighed faintly, giving a bit of a shrug.

"I just get the feeling he really likes his privacy. Mags's mentioned how guarded he is. He really doesn't trust easy, open up easily. Letting me in on so much wasn't really intentional and I know trusting someone he's known less than a day with as much as he did was a huge step for him.

I know how much it took for him to be okay with it. Especially given my work and well...who I work with- namely his best friend and the closest thing he has to family who has no clue about what he really is and who's life's goal is to prove the existence of Aliens.

Aliens like him.

I-it's a lot for him...I just really don't want him to feel like his trust was misplaced, you know?"

Kevin sighed, giving an understanding nod.

"Yeah Si, of course; I got you. Not gonna say I'm not SUPER curious about him- especially with the supervillian lair and the secret collection in the hidden room in the fireplace and all of that- but I've never felt you this excited about someone. Last thing I'd want to do is jeopardize it for you..." He trailed off, giving a hopeful, near pleading look.

"A-and that's really all that bothered you? You're not mad or scared or anything about me? I mean like ME-me?"

Simon laughed softly, shaking his head, waving him off.

"No Kev- never."

He positively beamed, nodding eagerly.

"Oh thank goodness. Last thing I'd want is to scare you...I'd hate to think that I'd ever make you scared or uncomfortable."

Simon chuckled, hugging him again, shaking his head.

"Never gonna happen Kev. We're good...always...Even when one of us is secretly an Anime deer-pixie."

Kevin laughed.

"Faeceri."

"Fa-wha?"

Kevin giggled pulling back, flashing a bright, warm smile.

"Faeceri- It's what I am...And don't worry- I know how crap you are with pronunciations- we can just stick with Anime deer-pixie if you want. I really don't care what you call me- I'm just glad you can actually SEE me. That I can tell you..." He bounced excitedly, bright eyes shimmering violet, a shimmer of violet and pink sparkles dancing about him animatedly gesturing hands.

"Oh my god Si! This is the best day ever! You can see me! You know! And that means you can know all of it! Oh dude-you don't even know. I have SO much to tell you-oh wait first off-" He trailed off, shifting back, giving a bright, animated wave accompanied by a shimmer of pinkish violet sparkles and a brilliant grin.

"Hi Simon! This is me- like Me-me: I'm Kevin Teagan, I'm a Faeceri- it's kind of what the myths of sprites or fairies come from...well some of them- not all of them...there's a lot of different kinds-seriously SO much to tell you- and now I can!

Anyways that's what I am: A Faeceri-a real live alien. I've been to three different planets, I'm an Empath, I have Telekinesis but I kind of suck at it and I'm your Gemenima- Hi!"

Simon laughed, nodding.

"Yeah that's definitely you Kev- I'd know you anywhere."

Kevin grinned, bouncing animatedly.

"I know but still it seems polite."

Simon laughed, shaking his head affectionately.

"Well hello Kevin. I'm Simon- I'm a human, I've never even been out of the state, I can be pretty sensitive but it's not like an actual superpower and I really hope I never develop any kind of Telekinesis; I have the ability to trip over my own feet...while standing still. Cannot imagine that'd mix well with Telekinesis.

And I have no idea what a Gemenima is but if it's you it has to be something pretty awesome."

Kevin positively beamed, nodding animatedly.

"It is...well I think it is. A Gemenima is a Faeceri's platonic soulmate. It's a very special, very unique bond. Faeceri form it just once in a lifetime. Sorry if that seems weird or s-"

Simon gave a soft chuckle, unable to stop a warm smile, slipping his arm around his shoulders, squeezing lightly.

"Actually? It explains a lot. You always know when I have a bad day, or when I'm really happy about something or when I need a hug or just to be left alone.

You always just know...

And you said you knew when I was in danger. And in school whenever I had a panic attack you would just know. You'd call or text or sneak over cause I forgot a book or whatever...but...you just knew...this is why, yeah?"

Kevin smiled, nodding, slipping his arm around him.

"Yeah...I always know. It's also why you know with me."

Simon blinked, head tilting, shaking faintly.

"Wha-I don-"

He smiled, nodding, squeezing his shoulder.

"Yeah you do...you might not know exactly what it is but you do pick up on it. Honestly now that you actually know you'll probably register it a lot more...it might seem kinda off at first but I am SO glad you finally know." He trailed off on a happy giggle, tugging him in, again hugging him tightly.

"I still can't believe you know! That you can finally see me! Like really see me I mean it's j-wait..." He trailed off, head tilting, bright eyes flickering violet, ears flicking curiously.

"How can you see me? What is it? A spell, a Mirage Manipulator, a Glamour disrupting psychic shield, a prismatic eye a-ooh..." he froze eyes falling on the crystal necklace.

He reached forward, delicately catching the crystal, lifting it up a bit to get a better look, glancing up at Simon.

"He gave you this?"

Simon blushed, nodding. Kevin blinked in surprise, giving a faintly impressed little whistle, eyes shifting back over the crystal.

"Wow- a viziune pură crystal synthesized with Copper, platinum, cobalt and titanium. Guy really went all out; I've never seen one this sleek and well made. Don't know where they'd find a viziune pură this good of quality in this quadrant.

Dude you must have made one hell of an impression...especially after you tried to rob him-"

"I didn't rob h-"

"Uh huh...sure you didn't. You just almost did...Looks like you did manage to steal his heart though." He chuckled, brow quirking, smirking playfully, gaze flicking back to the crystal.

"This really is something else. Must be like an heirloom or something. Even has engraving- I don't recognize the language but the scribe work is flawless. Whoever made this really knew what they were doing."

Simon laughed soflty, shaking his head.

"One of them did..."

Kevin blinked in confusion, head tilting.

"Huh?"

Simon shrugged, reaching up, holding the crystal, lightly tracing along the engraving, the color warming, glimmering like candle light...it reminded him of Raphael's pretty eyes.

He smiled softly, giving a dreamy little sigh.

"I actually made it."

Kevin's brow rose, head tilting.

"You made it?"

Simon laughed, shrugging concedingly, giving a bit of a wave.

"Well okay so only technically. Raph walked me through step by step in combining the crystal with the elements but still I am the one who actually made the crystal. The actual Necklace was all him though. Figured it'd be easier than me just holding it like a worry stone when he gave me the Non-Human Tour of Santa Barbra."

Kevin gave a surprised laugh.

"He took you on a tour?"

Simon smiled, nodding excitedly.

"Yeah- it was amazing. He took me to all these places so we could kind of people watch- so I could see all the things and beings I've always been surrounded by but never really got to see or experience. We hit all the super touristy type places, The Pier, a few clubs and even the Carnival-" he started, pausing, head tilting, holding up a finger.

"By the way...Cotton Candy-?"

Kevin sighed sympathetically, head tilting, face scrunching slightly.

"Ah...he told you about the Iapetune Sugar Spiders huh?"

"The What!?"

"Um-n-nothing..." he stammered, flashing a slightly too wide smile, giving a little wave, a flutter of shimmers dancing about his finger.

"Moving on. You guys actually made this?"

Simon blinked faintly at the Iape-whatever Sugar Spiders, swallowing faintly before shifting past it, nodding, smiling softly.

"Yeah..."

He shook his head.

"Dude...It's not like some Non-human rainy day craft project: this is the real deal. He definitely knew what he was doing. I don't even know where you'd get viziune pură crystals in this quadrant."

Simon shrugged.

"He grew it."

Kevin startled, blinking in surprise.

"He grew it? W-how-wait...He a Crystal Cultivator?"

Simon blinked back, head tilting curiously.

"I-um...I think so...?"

"Thought you said he's in tech?"

Simon shrugged, giving a bit of a wave.

"He is...I think that's mostly why he grows the crystals. To use for his projects. He said they have all kinds of uses and applications."

Kevin nodded.

"Oh yeah- in everything from space travel to memory storage to security and like pretty much every other discipline across the board."

He sat up, head tilting curiously.

"Does he have like a little aquarium type set up or something?"

Simon huffed out a faint laugh, head shaking.

"No...More like a cave type set up."

Kevin froze, blinking.

"A cave? L-like the Bat Cave?"

Simon laughed, giving a slight shrug.

"Bigger actually. It's like underneath his place, built into the mountain. He has like secret passages built in and everything. It's freaking awesome. It's huge, there were hundreds, maybe thousands of crystals in there...it's really someth-Kev? You alright?"

Kevin swallowed, looking near pale, nodding quickly, holding up a finger.

"Y-yeah-fine...though now I'm kind of thinking you maybe didn't misunderstand about not talking about him with non-humans as well."

Simon started.

"Why?" he froze.

"Oh crap- is it like illegal or something?" Simon groaned, rubbing his eyes.

"It is isn't it? they're like regulated or policed or monitored or whatever, aren't they? Ah damnit I can't b-"

Kevin laughed, shaking his head, waving him off, flashing a reassuring smile.

"No-no...nothing like that. It's very much legal- and very much a highly valued, highly rare, Highly sought after skill.

Just talking about it is kind of the equivalent of babbling about someone having a treasure vault in their place filled with diamonds and jewels. Babble about it to the wrong person and it could send some really bad elements his way. Thinking maybe you didn't misunderstand.

Crystal cultivation is extremely rare. It's a really unique discipline. It takes years, generations to master. Usually something passed down between family members- and most of the techniques are closely guarded secrets.

I've never even heard of a cultivator on this side of the country- and I know there's a huge market for it here. Maybe that's why he's so private."

Simon set up, nodding quickly, latching onto the excuse like a lifeline, smiling reassuringly.

"Yeah-that's probably it. Definitely would make sense." He shrugged, reaching up caressing the crystal, holding it up, twirling it in the light.

"I can see why he'd be pretty guarded about them. The cave was amazing. There's this huge one way window build into the side you can see out clear to the Ocean. We're gonna have a picnic there, watch the sun come up. He said it's something you have to see to really believe...I really can't wait."

"Awe.." Kevin practically cooed.

Simon rolled his eyes shrugging, again running his finger along the engraving, seeing the color glow warmly. He couldn't quite contain a dreamy little sigh, huffing out a soft breath of a laugh, glancing up, smiling at Kevin, waving the crystal faintly.

"Definitely seems to work well. He said it'd even work with like tv shows and things like that."

Kevin gave a low whistle, head shaking.

"Wow...I've never heard of one that powerful. Did you try it at his place?"

Simon shook his head.

"No he just told me when he was dropping me off. I was so excited, I planned on binging shows and practicing with it. He said Doctor who, Warehouse 13, the musical episode of Buffy-"

Kevin beamed, giving a bright, excited nod.

"Oh! Dude! He has good taste! Actually we should do like a theme. Like all musical episodes with a largely Alien cast. We'll start with the Buffy episode- seriously you think demon's singing and dancing is bizarre add in Aliens." He giggled brightly, grabbing the remote off the end table, pausing at a quick knock at the door. Simon glances over, head tilting curiously.

"Were we expecting anyone?"

Kevin shook his head. Simon begins to stand up but Kevin chuckles, waving him off with a bright, cheery smile, patting his arm, handing him the remote.

"Dude, I got it. Don't know who it is but they can wait. We have plans: we have scifi babble, binge watching like every scifi and fantasy show known to man because we are like everywhere you don't even know- and catching up on nearly a decade and a half of stories that you only got like the cliff notes on.

We are way too busy to deal with random nosey neighbors or drop ins or whatever. I'll get rid of them. You just relax and get the show cued up..."

Simon laughed brightly, eagerly nodding, settling more comfortably on the couch, flicking on the tv, paging through the onscreen menu. Kevin bounded across the room, opening the door, pausing a moment.

"Hi can I help you?"

There's a faint pause, and a kind of throat clearing sound.

"U-um...Hey...uh...Kevin, right?" Simon paused, the voice sounded familiar but he couldn't quite place it.

He shifted on the couch, turning around to see the door, catching sight of the tall dark haired woman standing at the door. Huh...Alec, Mags's new partner... He looks a bit different-the suns making an odd faint halo like effect about him. Wonder what he wants?

Today's Simon's day off...hopefully they're not trying to call him in.

Kevin nodded, bouncing lightly on his heels.

"Yup that's me...and you are?"

"Uh-H-hi-I uh...is Simon here? I'm-"

"Oh! Wow hi! Oh my gosh I'm so scattered sometimes! You must be Raphael!" Kevin gasped eagerly, bounding forward, catching his hand, shaking eagerly, bouncing on his heels.

"Hi! It is so great to meet you! I'm Kevin, Simon's Gemenima. Usually I'd totally be all serious and protective and all that since you did keep him out all night on your very first date but-I mean given the circumstances that's kinda to be expected. Plus Simon was practically walking on air when he got home so that totally buys you some leeway.

Simon's told me abo-w-well he didn't, he really didn't tell me much of anything about YOU you. Just that he had an amazing date and you're really great. I asked him about you but he didn't want to break your trust cause he did promise you he wouldn't like out you. I mean I figured you probably just meant not to out you to humans but the guy takes promises very seriously.

How cute is that? Oh please, look at me just babbling away. Please come in, come in." he beamed, practically bouncing on his heels, catching his hand, tugging him in, pushing the door closed behind them, turning back towards Simon.

"Oh Si: You're Scifi dream dates back..." He singsonged, shifting over giving a theatrical little wave towards the dumbstruck Agent.

Simon freezes on the couch blinking rapidly.

Alec is standing frozen at the door eyes wide. They're a bit brighter than they were yesterday...and the pupils look a bit different, they're kind of oval shaped. His features are a bit sharper. The faint halo effect is still there though the door is closed behind them blocking out the light source.

A-Raphael had explained this...he said this is how Simon can tell a non-human that on the outside looks human- those that don't need much of a disguise...

Meaning Alec is...umm...

N-Alec is...

Simon swallowed, shifting nervously on the couch, hesitantly holding up a finger, glancing over at Kevin...

"Uh K-Kev? T-this isn't Raphael; this is agent Alec Lightwood, Magnus's new partner."

Kevin's eyes widen, flickering violet, nose scrunching slightly, apologetically holding up a finger, casting an apologetic look over at Alec.

"Umm...oops..."

***End Of Chapter Notes***

{*_*^*_*^*_*^*_*^*_*^*_*^*_*^*_*^}

Gemenima- = Twin hearts ( Gemeni-inimi) Awe- love this term- it even sounds cute)

Faeceri- = fairie deer (Couldn't resist)

Yay! One more down! And this one wasn't even stupidly long! I like how this one went, Kevin sounds so cute and I love their bond (I just kind of got the idea that in school when things were really rough Simon had panic attacks...I think it'd fit with the character- we know one of the kind of running themes is Simon has a pretty crappy time of it growing up- this kinda falls right in line with that.

So one more down- only 3 chapters left in this story!

Here's the ever-present list:

This Is Why You Don't Wander Away From The Group (Verse 5)

A Start Of Something New (Verse 7)
