Season 1, Chapter 3 - FURY!
Westopolis, Central City, Team Dark's Residence

DING DONG
Rouge opened the door and saw Amy with a bunch of bags at the door.
"I see you actually have ears this time," Amy spoke.
Rouge backed away in surprise. She had still not gotten used to the fact that she and Amy were actually going to be living together.
"Now, now, that's no way to speak to a higher up." Rouge taunted.
"If you wanna consider ranks then actually behave professionally," Amy mumbled.
Rouge's eyebrow twitched as her ears picked up Amy's statement.
"What was that, Special Agent Amy? You need to speak up." Rouge replied, smiling sweetly.
Amy sighed and walked past Rouge while she set her shopping bags on the counter.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I'm just really not in the mood for any teasing right now." Amy stated.
Rouge took a closer look at the girl and saw that she did seem extremely stressed.
"My bad. Anyway, what'd you buy?" Rouge asked.
To her surprise, as Amy packed out her first bag of shopping, she stocked the house up with some groceries that she had bought from the store.
"Fortunately, you actually have a teammate that can cook on your team. So I went shopping for the house." Amy told.
"Uhuh...right. Thanks, I guess." Rouge replied.
Amy gave her a genuine smile before she decided to put the rest of the things away. Then she went up to her room.
She set down her shopping and slumped against the door. All this drama was causing her fatigue. She stripped out of her office clothes and looked at the time. It was already after 8.
"Right...in here definitely needs some tidying."
Amy grabbed the brand new duster that she had brought from the shop, opened the window and started to dust down the windowsill. She then continued dusting around the room. Then she realised that she needed to sweep and vacuum the floor before she could continue.
"Achoo!" she rubbed her nose, irritated from the dust.
She went outside into the hallway, looking for something similar to a closet. After finally finding it, she grabbed the things that she needed and went back to her room. Amy then continued cleaning the room; vacuuming the dust off the floor, wiping down the windowsills and replaced the curtains and bedsheets.
'Now...time for renovations.'
She then pushed the bed into the corner of her room away from the window, put the closet opposite the bed which was next to the door and put her dresser next to the window. The room was now a bit tidier.
She unpacked some of her clothes away into the closet and the drawers of her dresser which were some of her G.U.N uniforms, her training clothes and some comfy house clothes. Then she started packing away some of her cosmetics on top of her dresser and pulled a heavy mirror out of her suitcase to add to the table.
"Phew, I'm finally done...and a bit exhausted," Amy spoke to herself.
Amy went over to sit on her bed and thought over her encounter with Tails. She wasn't really prepared to see her friends again. Then again, she couldn't have expected them to stay in one place. She should have known that they would cross paths eventually.
Deep down, Amy knew she wasn't supposed to be victimising herself. She knew she made rash decisions in the past. Who could blame her friends for thinking that she was immature?
Maybe her being kicked off the team was a reality check. Besides, coming to G.U.N had given her a chance to improve on where she went wrong. Unlike the old team where she was kicked out without a chance for redemption.
If they weren't going to accept they were wrong and try to change, she would instead.
GROWLLLL...
Amy went red as she felt her stomach rumble.
'It's a bit late for eating...but never too late for cooking.'x
Rouge quietly walked into the living room and flopped down on the couch almost crinkling her beige T-shirt and her black leggings. She also had on some fluffy purple slippers as she laid on the couch and swung her feet around, clearly frustrated at something on her phone. It had been a long day and all Rouge wanted was to put her feet up with a relaxing bath after all the recent events.
"Hmmm... I just can't decide! There are so many deals at Munchies today!" Rouge sighed.
"Please keep quiet when you're ordering food, you're disturbing me," Shadow commented as he flicked through the channels on the TV.
Rouge giggled as she had succeeded to hedgehog before getting comfy and relaxed.
"Excuse me? Did I just hear order food?!"
The two Mobians flinched, obviously foreign to the loud and bustling nature of their new teammate. Then she clumsily missed a step on the stairs and stumbled, hissing in pain as she hit her elbow on the rail. She looked at them apologetically and made a peace sign with her fingers and a faux innocent smile.
Shadow and Rouge looked at each other before nodding.
"Hon, could you be a little quieter? We're used to keeping things calm around here." Rouge hissed.
Amy chuckled nervously before clearing her throat and recollecting her composure.
"Ah...sorry about that. What I was meant to say was, why waste your money when you have a teammate who can cook?"
Shadow raised a brow.
"Let me get this straight, you'd like to cook?" Shadow asked.
Amy couldn't help but feel like Shadow was ready to tell her no. She wouldn't back down, even if he wasn't fond of her.
"Shadow the Hedgehog, I am not asking you to cook. I am going to cook. Is there a problem?" Amy asked with a fake sweet smile.
Shadow looked at Amy in mild surprise while Rouge stepped over to Amy to have a quiet word with her.
"It's not really my business, but Mr Doom and Gloom over there hasn't eaten in days. I'm not sure what his problem is and I hate to say this but...it's kind of worrying." Rouge whispered.
Amy nodded as she took in the information before she ran upstairs and grabbed an apron.
"Here, borrow this. Since you're his closest friend and all, he might eat it if you and I prepare it for him."
Shadow scoffed.
"You thought I was going to eat your food? I'm turning in for the night." Shadow spoke as he turned off the TV and headed to his room.
That was before Amy stepped in front of him with her hammer.
"If you don't sit your ass down at that couch, I will not be afraid to knock some sense into you," Amy growled.
Shadow chuckled. Surely she wasn't serious.
"Surely you haven't forgotten about my warning. I will put you and that toy hammer outside–"
WOOSH
Shadow dodged as Amy swung her hammer down onto the floor. The ground shook and Shadow stumbled slightly before he looked up at Amy and growled. His hand started to crackle with chaos spear energy and Amy felt a little terrified. Maybe she had pushed him too far.
Rouge saw this as a time to intervene.
"Amy...I need your help here. I'm having trouble preparing these ingredients." Rouge told.
Amy sighed before glaring at Shadow one more time, and he stood there returning the look.
"Do not disturb me." Shadow spat before turning on his heel.
Poofing her hammer away and walking over to the kitchen to help Rouge, Amy left Shadow to go upstairs to his room.
Amy saw Rouge staring at the fridge trying to figure out what they were going to make. Deciding it was time to change the atmosphere, Amy examined the situation.
Rouge couldn't figure out what Amy was planning to cook and so she stood hovering above the ingredients while lost deep in thought.
"Rouge...could it be that you don't know how to cook?" Amy asked.
Rouge blinked before she felt her face turn red from humiliation.
"I'll have you know that–!"
"Wait! It was a genuine question, I didn't mean to offend you." Amy declared.
Rouge stopped yelling and with her face still red, she turned her back to Amy.
"Look, seriously, it wasn't an insult. I can teach you the basics, just help me out over here." Amy pleaded.
Rouge looked at Amy out of the side of her eye before sighing and putting her hands on her hips.
"Alright. Lead the way, Pinky."
Rouge listened intently as Amy showed her technique of cutting up onions and how to sautee them. She watched as Amy talked as if she was in a cooking class and saw that she was enjoying getting to teach someone something. Surprisingly, Rouge found herself getting the hang of what she was being told to do and was starting to enjoy it. She stared in fascination at the sauce that she had created before Amy came over to complete it.
"Pasta and Meatballs? Sweet." Rouge commented.
"I bet the pasta sauce will pair well with the meat since you made it for us," Amy replied.
Rouge folded her arms and smiled.
"Well thanks, sweetheart. It was you who taught me after all."
Amy was surprised that she had somehow warmed up to Rouge after a couple of hours. She smiled back and continued preparing the food. Soon it was finished and she started to dish the food out onto the plates.
She had also asked Rouge to prepare a salad for the meal. Amy subconsciously reached for a third plate before remembering sadly that Shadow wouldn't eat her food. Rouge saw this out of the corner of her eye.
She had surprisingly had enough of the 2 crazy hedgehog's drama for one day and actually wanted some peace in the house.
That being said, she was worried about Shadow overdoing it by not taking care of himself. Originally she had wanted to talk to him herself but...
"You should go and talk to him," Rouge stated
Amy froze at the suggestion and she nervously laughed.
"Talk to who? What are you talking about?" Amy questioned, feigning innocence.
Rouge shook her head at the poor girl.
Even she herself sometimes felt wary of Shadow and his Chaos energy. It really wasn't something to be taken lightly.
But if Amy could actually end up getting through to Shadow or even talking to him, at least it would put less of a strain on the team.
"Darling, don't worry. He's just been in a bad mood for a couple of days. Now go on, I'm sure we all don't want cold food."
...
Amy's slippers made a slight padding sound on the floor as she walked back and forth in the corridor. She wondered if it was a good idea to try talking to Shadow and was actually considering giving him some space.
But she needed to talk to him. After all, she knew that sometimes she could be overwhelming and forceful, especially when she was worried about her friends.
The whole purpose of her moving on was dependent on her working together with this team and she was determined not to fail. Besides, she knew Shadow was not a bad person deep down. She had interacted with the hedgehog countless times over her life. Surely she could get closer to him one way or another?
Before she knew it, she was already knocking on the door. There was a silence before Shadow came to the door and yanked it open, startling Amy.
"I thought I said I wouldn't like to be disturbed." Shadow hissed.
Amy closed her eyes and flinched before bowing apologetically in front of Shadow.
"I'm really sorry for being forceful earlier, Shadow. Can we please talk?" Amy asked.
Shadow stared at the hedgehog with a brow raised. Currently, he was actually trying to get some peace of mind before work the next day. Yet, it seemed like he couldn't have that at all with the pink hedgehog around. She refused to leave him alone and he just wanted his personal space.
"No thanks. I'm going out for a ride." Shadow stated before trying to walk past her.
Amy nodded and stepped out of his pathway and respected his wishes before heading downstairs.
Deciding to try and cheer herself up, Amy decided to go downstairs and have her meal with Rouge instead.
"Shadow says he's not eating tonight and that's fine. We can just put his share away just in case he wants it later. Let's give him some space." Amy told.
Rouge slowly nodded and the two proceeded to have their dinner.
Westopolis, Central City, Tails' Workshop/Residence
Tails had just returned from the shop and he decided to ring the doorbell. Cream came to answer the door and he walked right inside.
The ground floor had Tails' workshop, which was big and had a garage. It led out to a runway which his oversized X-tornado was comfortably parked on. There was also a huge living room that was usually used for meetings which had 2 sofas, lots of bean bags, a coffee table and a large TV.
There was also a big kitchen on the ground floor to satiate the two males ever-growing hunger for chilidogs. Thanks to Sonic, it was all they ever ate. Sonic was an expert at making them, surprisingly, but it couldn't compare to the ones that Cream, (and Amy, when she used to be on the team, could make).
On the first floor, there was a spacious bathroom, Sonic's Room and 2 guest rooms. There was also a balcony with stairs leading up to the roof, where sonic spent most of his days when he wanted to sleep or (rarely) didn't feel like running. And there was also a room with mission equipment and other equipment such as building materials and other parts if an emergency base needed to be built.
Lastly, on the second floor, there was Tails' room, a bathroom, a small library and another guestroom. In between all these rooms was a balcony leading to the roof which had a fence around it, a small pool, 2 hammocks and a table tennis table, where silver and knuckles would constantly fight over how to play.
AN: (Sorry for the house tour.)
"Charmy? Would you mind helping me out over here?" Cream asked.
There was a silence before a buzzing sound came from the corridor and the bee emerged.
"Really, Cream? I'm a busy bee you know. And this kinda looks like a pain to do."
"Oh come on, Charmy, we have to go home soon! The least you could do is help out." Cream huffed.
She sighed and started packing away some of the things that Tails bought by herself. Seeing as Cream was now frustrated, Charmy decided to speak up.
"Ohh, fine then," Charmy grumbled before hurrying over to help out.
Tails shook his head at them before walking into the workshop where he met Sonic.
Sonic was currently on the couch chilling and stuffing his face with chilidogs, surprisingly calm and watching TV. Tails silently thanked Chaos for calming down the hedgehog's energy to the point where he could actually sit still for more than 2 seconds.
"Sonic, I have something to tell you." Tails stated.
Sonic gagged and choked in surprise at his friend's voice while Tails rushed over to get him a bottle of water.
"cough... Hey– ack... Ahem. Hey there, lil buddy, what's up?" Sonic choked out.
Tails chuckled at his role model's goofiness. Even Sonic could have his moments.
"Well let's just say I ran into an unexpected face today..." Tails muttered while looking away from Sonic.
Sonic's smile dropped and he furrowed his brows together.
"I don't understand. What's wrong? Have you finally detected Eggman?"
"No, Sonic. It's Amy. I saw her today at the store."
Silence...
"YOU WHAT?!" Sonic yelled.
Tails folded his ears in surprise.
"Sonic! Calm down! I haven't finished telling you everything yet."
Sonic took a deep breath in. He had finally found her.
"Is she alright? Where is she living? Can we see her now?" Sonic blurted out.
Tails raised his hand in stress. Sonic was stressing him out with the non-stop questions.
"Let me start from the beginning..."
(...Time skip...)
"So that's what she said, huh," Sonic replied, taking in the information.
The two sat there in silence, not really knowing what to say. They had spent ages trying to track Amy down and now that they'd finally found her, she flat out didn't want to see them.
"This is really bad, Sonic. I don't know how she'll react when she hears the news." Tails spoke.
Sonic nodded in agreement before his wrist communicator rang off. It was Knuckles trying to contact him.
"Hey, Knux. Everything okay?" Sonic answered.
There was a sound of shuffling as Sonic heard giggling in the background.
"...Yeah everything's great and all but you won't believe what I'm about to tell you."
Sonic rolled his eyes.
"Y'know, with the amount of news that you guys have for me, I wouldn't be surprised if this was also about Amy." Sonic joked.
"Well...speak of the devil. I arrived here not too long ago just to find out that Amy's over here at Team Dark's house."
There was a silence but Knuckles decided to continue.
"And get this, she works with G.U.N now. When she told me, I got all surprised and–"
"SHE DID WHAT?" Sonic yelled.
The rest of the freedom fighters came rushing downstairs in worry. Tails sighed and put his head into his hands.
"Sonic, please don't tell me you're going over there." Tails mumbled through his hands.
Sonic slammed his hands down on the table.
"Damn right I am. Knuckles, you'd better send me that address. I've got some talking to do to that black hedgehog." Sonic growled.
