Sayaka walked into the cafeteria and saw Makoto and Kyoko sitting together having some toast. Sayaka was happy that Makoto was back to normal for now, at least.
She walked over to the pair. "Hey guys, how are you two doing?"
"Better than I was last night for sure," Makoto said.
"Did something bad happen?" Sayaka asked.
"Ah, it's family problems. I don't want to bore you with them. Anyway, how are you?"
"I'm good, thanks," Sayaka. 'I wonder if Naegi told his parents the news last night?'
"That's good to hear," Makoto smiled. "Hey, Maizono, there is something I need to ask and get your opinion on it."
"Sure, go ahead."
"See if you had a friend that ended up getting his girlfriend pregnant. What sort of advice would give?"
Kyoko was drinking tea at the time, began to choke on it when Makoto asked the question.
"Oh, Kirigiri, are you ok?" Makoto said quickly as he began to rub Kyoko's back.
"What sort of question is that to be asking?" Kyoko said, stunned.
"I'm looking to expand my knowledge," Makoto replied. "Forget I said anything."
"No, let me answer that, Naegi," Sayaka said. "My advice would be that if they were scared, they shouldn't. My friend and his girlfriend have a lot of people that care for both of them. Plus, my friend and his girlfriend have their family as well to lean on."
"I doubt that," Makoto said without thinking.
"What?" Sayaka said, stunned.
Makoto's eyes lit up in horror. "Forget I said anything. I'm going to head to class now!" He got up and dashed out of the cafeteria.
"What the hell happened?" Sayaka asked.
"Well, yesterday, we spoke to my father," Kyoko said. "Of course, my father went into overprotective mode and made a minor threat to Naegi, which my father has apologised for. Then we spoke to Naegi's parents after school and, well, let's say Naegi's mother wasn't pleased to put it lightly."
"Sounds about right. Naegi was always his mother's baby boy. She cares for Naegi a lot, and she's got a fright, that's all."
"A fright? Naegi feared for his life before he phoned his parents. And after Makoto's mother ended the call. Makoto claimed he was so dead."
"Oh dear," Sayaka sighed. "At least she isn't here on site."
"True, but nothing is stopping her from coming here," Kyoko sighed. "I think it's just a matter of time before Makoto and his mother come face to face, and I'm not looking forward to that day."
"I see that you haven't told Naegi yet about me knowing."
"I'm going to tell him today after class. I'd rather not keep any secrets from him."
"How about we tell him together?"
"Together?" Kyoko replied, narrowing her eyes at Sayaka.
"Yeah, how about I take you two out for dinner, my treat."
"I don't know-"
"Come on, Kirigiri!" Sayaka sighed. "Even you will admit it will be nice to get out of here if it's only a few hours."
Kyoko rolled her eyes. "Alright, I will say to Naegi."
"Great!" Sayaka smiled. "I know a good restaurant. I will give the address and time later on once I've booked it. Being an upcoming idol does have its benefits."
Hours later
It was half five in the evening, Makoto and Kyoko were walking through town.
"I can't believe this will be our first date," Makoto beamed.
"I wouldn't call it a date. There will be a third-person there," Kyoko replied.
"Huh?" Makoto said, looking at Kyoko. "A third person? Wait, is your grandfather meeting us?"
"Thankfully, no," Kyoko said gladly. "It's a person that knows I'm pregnant, and they were the first person to know… Because they forced me to test a pregnancy test."
"Who is it?" Makoto gasped.
"You will find out soon," Kyoko replied as the pair reached the restaurant. "Here we are."
Makoto looked at the building before, and his jaw dropped. "This place looks super expensive!"
"Yes, thankfully, we aren't paying for anything."
"We're not?" Makoto said, surprised.
"Correct, let's inside."
Kyoko walked forward with Makoto following her.
They stepped inside, and a female stopped them at the reception. "Ah, you must be Kirigiri and Naegi, please this way."
Kyoko and Makoto looked at each other for a few seconds before following the female worker. She took the pair to the back of the restaurant, away from other people talking and other noises.
Makoto's mouth dropped like a rock when he saw Sayaka sitting at a table. "Maizono?"
"Hello Naegi," Sayaka giggled. "Please take a seat. We will have a few minutes to pick our meals and drinks."
The female worker walked away as Kyoko sat down, took off her jacket, and picked up the menu.
Makoto sat down and couldn't believe Sayaka was the person that knew Kyoko was pregnant. "Maizono, how can you afford to dine at a place like this?"
"I'm an upcoming idol. I have a few connections. Besides, I thought it would be nice if you and Kirigiri were able to leave the school and hang about. Instead of facing new dramas every night after class."
"Yeah," Makoto sighed. "Last night was rough."
"Kirigiri told me," Sayaka said, concerned. "Although I'm not surprised. You were always your mother's baby boy."
"Hey!" Makoto said, embarrassed. At the same time, Sayaka and Kyoko laughed a little. "It was bad enough that my mother said on the phone, and Kirigiri had to stop herself from laughing."
"Yes, it was surprising. I may start calling you that," Kyoko grinned.
"No, please, no!" Makoto begged.
An hour later
"Aww geez, I'm stuffed!" Sayaka said as she put her knife and fork down and leaned back against the chair.
"You better be careful," Kyoko said. "An idol should always be slim."
"Ha! You don't need to tell me twice," Sayaka replied, annoyed. "Being an idol is a blessing, but it's a total pain the backside. Don't do this, don't do that."
"I'm aware of how the process works. It's frightening, honestly."
"Yeah, it is," Sayaka replied as she stretched her arms. "So Naegi, how are you enjoying your meal?"
Makoto was nearly finished his meal. "It's the best food I've ever made. I can see why this place is expensive. Maizono about the money-"
"Don't even consider it!" Sayaka said quickly. "This is my treat. I want to help you guys out, even if it's just for a few hours. Also, I wanted some juicy answers."
"Like what?" Kyoko replied as she put her knife and fork down, signalling that she was finished eating her dinner.
"Well, I've gathered that you two will have the child until it's born at least."
"We have committed to keeping it," Makoto said. "It's our mess, and we both felt it would wrong to give our child away."
"Oh, that's good news!" Sayaka smiled. "You two will be great parents. Anyway, I want to know, are you two looking forward to having a boy or a girl?"
Makoto and Kyoko looked at each other.
"We haven't spoken about it," Makoto said. "I honestly don't care what the sex is as long as the baby is healthy. Maybe when the time gets closer, I will begin to think more about the sex, but for now. My main concern is to ensure Kyoko and the baby is healthy and safe."
"As for me," Kyoko said. "I don't mind what the sex the child is, as Naegi has said, as long as the baby is healthy, that is the only that matters to me."
"Aww, you two," Sayaka said as her heart skipped a bit. "The best parents ever."
Kyoko's phone began to ring. She took it out of her pocket and looked at it. She froze with fear. "It's my grandfather."
"Oh, let me move then," Sayaka said as she began to move.
"No, I need a bit of fresh air. I will be back," Kyoko replied. She stood up and walked away.
Makoto's phone began to buzz, and he picked it up from the table. It was a text from his sister.
'Hey Makoto, I hope you are well from last night's drama. I need to tell you that mum and dad are coming to the school this Saturday afternoon. I will be coming as well, so I thought I would let you know before mum kills you.'
"Oh, that's great," Makoto sighed.
"What is it?" Sayaka asked.
"Komaru has texted me there. She and my parents are coming to the school on Saturday. My mother is going to kill me, according to Komaru."
"Oh dear," Sayaka sighed.
Kyoko arrived back at the table.
"Geez, Kirigiri that was quick," Sayaka said.
"My grandfather wanted to keep the conversation short, he asked me how I was, and he also said he would be attending Hope's Peak this Saturday."
"Oh lovely," Makoto said, shaking his head. "Komaru has told me by text that she and my parents are coming to the school on Saturday as well."
"When did this happen?" Kyoko asked.
"When you went outside to speak to your grandfather," Makoto replied.
Kyoko let out a sigh. "It's going be a happy family reunion," she said sarcastically.
